1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: September 05, 2013, 10:21:17 PM
Noticed the hash rate went down about 30 gh/s is anyone having any issues with my p2pool?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=284007.msg3047163#msg3047163

That was my little single going back to eligius.st

I was mining NBC because eligius.st seemed to be having some minor troubles.
1502  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: September 04, 2013, 01:32:34 PM
I have 30 GH/s I stopped mining for a while at the p2p pool. I'm mining there again for a while because eligius seems to be having problems...

I'll go back to eligius.st as soon as it seems stable (maybe when I come back from college).

I like NBC but I wish it was bitcoin with 256 times more blocks instead of just 4 times... (and also the speed of confirmations)

Would catching up to the blockchain take much longer if it were?
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Pools up - Quick confirmations on: September 04, 2013, 12:51:41 PM
anyone here selling Zetacoin ?  Smiley

Looking to buy....but haven't found an exchange yet......

Try reading post one of this thread.

 cryptsy.com
 coinex.pw
 bter.com

sorry...I guess I should have been more precise -- I am looking to BUY Zetacoin with US $$ (not trade for BTC or other coin)
That would probably be illegal unless you were registered as a money transmitter with FinCEN like one of the established USD->BTC exchanges.

It doesn't sound illegal to me.... You can just use your pc to mine a few coins it's not like difficulty is anywhere near bitcoin levels!
1504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin-Qt / bitcoind version 0.8.4 released, fixes critical DoS vulnerability on: September 04, 2013, 03:36:17 AM
I'm upgrading now! I did do a wallet backup just in case though.

May this version be mostly free of bugs so I don't have to do this again!

Installing only took a few seconds. I do have a bug through the last two versions though. My bitcoin client will freeze the first time I open it. I have to force close the client and the second time it will open up perfectly fine!

It's verifying blocks now.... 23:30 is the time.... When I checked again at 23:35 everything was working, up to date and synchronized!
1505  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining with asics is already dead. on: September 03, 2013, 10:10:32 PM
I bought a BFL single and I've mined many altcoins and other things so I don't have an exact amount of what I have mined in terms of BTC. I have certainly mined around 2 BTC already.

The miner cost $683 (with shipping) for 30 GH/s (it works at this level)

I think I can ROI really easily. From now on I'll just mine BTC until it does ROI.

I only have about .5 BTC in my wallet though!

I did use my mined BTC to buy games from the humble bundle, so since I paid fiat (for the miner) and saved money in fiat by paying less for all these games I can say that I'm good!
1506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZET] Zetacoin - SHA256 coin - Pools up - Quick confirmations on: September 03, 2013, 09:41:48 PM
I stopped mining when I reached 33K zeta.... I was thinking that there is no point in mining any more because such balances under single people are a little ridiculous.
I mined some NBC But I'll stop for the same reason and I'll just go back to bitcoin.

If I had a way to split my hashrate I'd mine many alts at a time.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple starts to conquer the world from China on: September 03, 2013, 09:24:06 PM
I decided to make a wallet for ripple, then I found out that it's closed source and controlled by a for profit corporation.

I don't think we can trust a single entity to give away every single coin in a system.

Ripple is shit. I'm mining New Bitcoin now, What we really need is an alt like New Bitcoin only about 64 times faster. Something like bitcoin only 256 times the blocks (still halving every 4 years) Transactions would confirm in 14-15 seconds and ripple would have no market.

Maybe ripple should be considered a scam. The whole system is dangerous and may collapse. I'm not willing to take such risks.

Sounds like Fastcoin, not sure if it meets all of what you stated but it is fast.

Thanks, I'll look it up.

pool opened (1% fee):

http://nbc.coinmine.pl
Stratum Port: 7050

feeleep

I got an error while creating my account: "Unable to create account: Failed to create confirmation token"
However, my account turned out to be created after all.

Can anyone explain me why I should go for that normal mining pool or the p2p one?

There is a very slight difference in fees between the 2 pools.

I mine at the p2p pool and pay 2% to the pool which leaves me with 98%
With the other pool I'd get 99%

But, honestly I don't give a damn!

This is awesome!

I may just buy condoms from there now!
1513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: September 02, 2013, 11:57:21 PM
I like this coin being an exact bitcoin clone but with much faster confirmations.

I wonder if New Bitcoin went far enough with the speed. I mean 15 minutes for a confirmed transaction is still pretty bad.

I'm offering to sell a brand new deck of cards for 50 NBC.... Any takers?
I'll ship it to your address (US only). You also get a surprise item.
1514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] New Bit coin NBCOIN is coming - combines the advantages of btc and ltc on: September 02, 2013, 11:02:26 PM
Does new bitcoin have faster confirmations?

If it does...I may mine it in the future!
1515  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [ANN] Coinabul - Newbies - Buy Gold and Silver - Coin Porn on: September 02, 2013, 10:20:51 PM
I'd buy some gold or silver from coinabul if the premiums were at the same levels as silvertowne!

Silvertowne makes its own bars though.
1516  Other / Off-topic / Re: This thread WILL change your life! on: September 02, 2013, 09:35:53 PM
The moment I looked upon this thread my bank account balance tripled and my dick grew 4 extra inches.

Thank you so much.

Nah! This is a total waste of time.

Pic of your bank account balance tripling or it didn't happen.

Balance = $0    Therefore....

By the way: Best Thread Poll Ever! Very Positive!

WOW, my bank account balance is a very personal matter, I'm not going to just snap a picture of it and show it to you.
That needs to happen person to person.

1517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zapcoin: distributed, no-trust altcoin that verifies in seconds on: September 02, 2013, 01:16:17 AM
I like the idea, I have somewhat of an intermittent connection at times but since I'm a miner I deal with it.

I'm interested in a crypto without POW.
1518  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Plausibility of Syria strike ? on: September 02, 2013, 01:02:45 AM
There is one point that I agree with. The use of chemical weapons in warfare can't go unpunished.

That being said further investigation needs to be done by a reliable third party with absolute honesty and openness to the public.

Another war is just what the US economy needs.

Even the missiles cost way too much money.
1519  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: September 02, 2013, 12:56:06 AM
I don't know if you know, but you can buy the humble bundle with Bitcoins!

Do it!

6 Games for 1 dollar or 0.007 BTC!

I got the latest one and it may just have a couple of decent titles in it. I'm too busy with college.
1520  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Plausibility of Syria strike ? on: September 01, 2013, 12:29:30 AM
Now that US concludes that Assad regime used chemical weapons, what do you think would be course of action by US.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-08-28/obama-concludes-assad-carried-out-chemical-attack

The Russians save the day by adding more Risperidone to the US' water supply?

I was given risperidone for Bipolar depression. There is something seriously wrong about psychiatrists in the US.

I bet the US will fuck Syria up like it has done with so many countries before. Do they have oil? Who knows? Is the US government corrupt? Hell yes.

If there is the slightest corporate interest to destabilize the current system in Syria you can be almost certain that the US government and military will be steered in this course of action.
It's only a matter of time until corporate interests become clear.

What if it was a corporation that did the chemical strikes?    US intelligence says they are not certain the regime used the weapons and I really doubt that the rebels did it.

As much as I hate conspiracy theories based on no evidence this needs to be investigated further. The US government needs to be much more open to review about the events that happened in Syria. We also need more well organized journalists that we can trust on the ground.
