And I quote "A doze of intelligence".

You're running on fumes.

Gutted for Greece - they are true warriors, far too stubborn to simply leave the competition without a fight.

Costa Rica did well, I can't get my head around how they managed with 10 men for so long, then come up with penalties like that. Absolute masterclass in penalty taking.

Their energy levels are insane. Against Italy even after 80th minute they were pressing and closing down hard.

I'm Greek and I have to say that our goalkeeper seemed really distracted. Costa Rica's goalkeeper on the other hand is amazing, he is like a real life spiderman!
983  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm calling it, 2014 will be the lowest year in arctic sea ice minimum (~Sep10) on: June 29, 2014, 05:26:38 PM
Is this a prediction for just this year (new record low this year) or a prediction forever (it'll never go below this year)?

It is a non-scientific guesstimation for breaking the summer low record at around september 10.

I'm basing it on the exponentially lower summer minimums of arctic ice and the extra CO2 and methane on the atmosphere + Historical and current data.

It is not, however based on any models, equations, or scientific fact. More like calling a bet.

Edit: So the prediction is just for this year and not forever.
984  Other / Off-topic / I'm calling it, 2014 will be the lowest year in arctic sea ice minimum (~Sep10) on: June 29, 2014, 04:01:54 PM
Ice increases our planets albido lowering the amount of energy that is reflected back into space. The arctic ice minimum is important because it happens while the arctic is receiving most of its yearly sunlight, in the summer.

As the extent lowers, the rate at which it melts in the summer is increased.
985  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Some statistics on welfare on: June 26, 2014, 08:36:08 PM
We're living in difficult times.

It's not a character flaw to go through tough times. Providing food and housing security for everyone would vastly improve conditions for everyone. It would certainly drop the crime rate.

We put people in impossible situations were it is hard to stay afloat. The minimum wage is a joke. The housing prices are also way inflated and with their inflation so is the taxation on the homes.

Housing has to go to a fair market price that allows everyone to live without working all day.
Employers have to pay their employees fair wages.
Everyone should share in society's wealth and everyone should have a place to call their own and the ability to get adequate nutrition regardless who they are.

Anything else is extra.

Why do we allow people to become homeless? And why have we created a situation where it is difficult for a person to build their own shelter without being regulated to hell?
986  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Television - Mass Hypnotic Indoctrination on: June 26, 2014, 01:09:26 PM
Marketing is mass hypnotic.

The signal flickering from tv is not.

Yes, I am sure science is wrong and you are right. Hypnosis does not exist. Go back to sleep.

Hypnosis only works with certain people in certain mental states.

Cite a couple of peer reviewed studies proving that TVs can hypnotize a high percentage of the population.

If you make extraordinary claims be ready to provide extraordinary evidence rather than a non-sense YouTube video and a couple of vague articles.
987  Economy / Economics / Re: Working in USA on: June 26, 2014, 01:02:17 PM
In the US the living cost is insane. Ask yourself, are you willing to pay they insane rent required to live in a nice area?

Consider moving to china.
988  Other / Meta / Re: Browsing Politics and Off-topic forums: Is it just me or... on: June 26, 2014, 12:58:15 PM
Bitcoin is based on cryptography which ensures digital data security. Thus people interested in it usually know more about technology than the average citizen. Those who have more knowledge about technology often notice more of it's flaws and possible exploits.

Aside from that, cryptography, being a security measure in a way, attracts more paranoic, sometimes even the so called delusional "conspiracy theorists" (although let's not forget that it attracts normal people too). Add the paranoic crowd + the tech (and other) flaws and you get the topics mostly discussed in your mentioned sections.

That doesn't explain dank.
He's one of a kind Cheesy . Maybe got here on random when he didn't have anything to do.

Dank's probability of appearance on a forum is inversely equivalent to the amount of sane posts therefore, his use of certain topics is a marker for level of insanity in said topic or thread.

He is doing us a service.
989  Other / Meta / Re: About selling accounts on: June 26, 2014, 12:55:00 PM
Agreed.

With that being said,
Selling an account for the post count and activity is a scumbag move.

It should only be allowed with strict conditions and approval from a moderator, when done under other circumstances a nice ban would fix it.

Even in the case someone wants to use the name of another account for their company, postcounts should be transferred or reset.
990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bolivia Bans Bitcoins! on: June 26, 2014, 12:04:47 PM
The only way to ban BTC is to ban:

Computer networks
Devices capable of creating such networks
USB storage devices
paperwallets
and the human brain

It's extremely imipractical to ban bitcoin... Taxing it on the other hand!

Taxing could be very beneficial to governments they tax, they hold, they get a stake in the matter.
991  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-26] CD: Skyhook Ships 150 Open-Source Bitcoin ATMs in First Month on: June 26, 2014, 11:30:22 AM
That growth in the BTC ATM demand may push the price up further in the near future. Perhaps it will even near 1000 again in the near future.
992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No wonder PHs appear out of nowhere...... on: June 26, 2014, 02:03:51 AM
Soon it's going to be exahashes out of nowhere...

Mining is less profitable then getting coins right now and HODLING....

I did the mistake of getting hardware (which paid itself off) from BFL...

I could have had 50-60 bitcoins....

The only difference was that if BFL had actually delivered on time.... When 50 BTC per block was the reward I'd have struck gold and be able to follow my dreams.
993  Other / Off-topic / Re: Post questions for this answer on: June 26, 2014, 01:58:39 AM
Will I ever have a threesome with two actresses from Game of Thrones?

Will I finally move out of Florida?

Are we going to prevent a mass extinction caused by humans releasing methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases into the atmosphere?

Will the myth that stretching is good before you run be ever eradicated from popular culture?

994  Other / Off-topic / Re: BTC and taxes on: June 26, 2014, 01:53:35 AM
Buy the rental property in bitcoin directly!

No cashing out required!

The real cashing out is actually not having too..

Either that or (Very off topic) perhaps taxation should be simplified and be made fair across the bord. Like a flat value added tax on everything.... The rich, corporations, the poor, anyone pays the same % on every transaction.

Back on topic, you can buy any asset that is taxed very little sell it at a slight loss (smaller than the other tax) to an interested buyer (pre-arranged). The item would be any such thing you can buy for BTC although at this early stage that would be quite difficult an asset such as a certain amount of gold or silver could be used.

You use BTC to get the gold, you give it to whomever who buys it for fiat.

BTC to Gold to Fiat....

Bitcoin will succeed even more than troll threads.
997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jeff Garzik's Bitcoin Balance Revealed on: June 21, 2014, 11:13:32 PM
Surprisingly small amount.

If he holds for a while they may be worth a lot more however.

Definitely anyone with this kind of BTC is really blessed.
998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: solution to rubber hose attacks on: June 21, 2014, 11:10:30 PM
I agree with the idea with heavy modification.

A lying gui with secret functionality is my takeaway from this.

Press the secret button, enter password and then the qt starts lying.

Hopefully you won't be killed just for money in the process.
999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me Archive Satoshi's Emails on: June 21, 2014, 11:05:30 PM
I want to see any such work. Send me a PM if you have something.

I only learned about Bitcoin a while after its conception.

Be careful not to publish anything that may reveal his identity, that would be a dick move.
1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Metadisk - Blockchain Based File Sharing - Powered by Storj on: June 21, 2014, 12:12:44 PM
I don't currently have a powerful computer, just a swamped laptop so I won't be able to participate, however I'm really interested in this technology.

Since private users are more prone to fail shouldn't every file get hosted in 4-5 different places?

Is there an easy, straightforward way to pay x-times to store the file x-times? Say that the file is your mangum opus but your competitor is trying to steal it and you don't want to lose it, would this service help?

3 people (that are private citizens) could very easily walk away from the task of keeping files. So there needs to be the ability for more redundancy and proper incentives.

It's an exciting idea, I hope you're able to work it out.
