1441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who Is The Rich Bitcoinist? on: March 18, 2018, 05:10:46 AM
after satoshi who is the richest bitcoinist?`

First of all no one knows that how many bitcoins satoshi has so it will be wrong to call him the richest bitcoinist. Also, I do not think he is holding his coins just for money, he must be having them in order to support the prices in case some drastic crash happens. Regarding other people having highest amount of bitcoins, this is something no wise person should declare. We already heard of a case where robbers went to a house and then forced the owner to transfer all his bitcoins to their wallet.
1442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin win? on: March 18, 2018, 05:06:13 AM
Similar to what Gandhi said
At first, they ignored the Bitcoin, then ridiculed him for "how a digital coin does not have a physical presence" to be a substitute for paper currency and a system called the Blockchain, an alternative not only to the banks but to the entire institutions, then they fought him and tried to cast suspicion in the ranks of those who pursued him To 20 thousand dollars in less than ten years from the way he described the bubble and the closing of the trading platforms and then enter the market and try to control it as it is now.
Now only victory ...

You are right, a lot of people have ridicule bitcoins giving a number of reasons. It has proved all of them wring ad given more than 10000% returns in an year. I am sure that those people who were making fun of bitcoins must be regretting their decision now. They might be investing some money in bitcoins hoping to make some decent returns.
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining a bitcoin costs about as much as buying one these days on: March 17, 2018, 11:46:34 AM
Bitcoin's profitability wasn’t a problem when the cryptocurrency was heading “to the Moon,” as enthusiasts were fond of putting it, but since late last year, Bitcoin has largely been heading in the other direction.
Calculating mining costs is not so hard, the cost of the computers themselves, as the mathematical problems get progressively harder over time, miners need to keep upgrading their rigs, another issue is energy, making loads of incorrect guesses uses a lot of it. And then there’s cooling ... all that energy use throws off a lot of heat.
The current break-even point for Bitcoin mining is $8,038.
That said, whether or not mining still makes sense, depends a lot on where you are.
And let's not forget that Bitcoin is terrible for the environment.

You should not forget the fact that a lot of setups had already recovered the initial investment mad. I agree that there are still some regular expenses like electricity bills but they will always in profit once the setup costs is invested. I am not involved with bitcoin mining yet but it is way more profitable in trading in long term. You should think about the future prices of coins being generated instead of calculating returns based on current cost.
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do many people who do not understand Bitcoin deface and attack Bitcoin? on: March 17, 2018, 11:35:47 AM
Why do so many people do not even understand the basic principles of Bitcoin and blockchain knowledge, and there is enough courage to smash and attack? What is this mental state? To discuss this common phenomenon and psychological activity analysis.

These are the people who cannot take the risk of investing in bitcoins and jealous of people who took the risk and made good profits. You will find this people judging all types of investments like shares and stocks. They call shares also as gambling but the reality is that they themselves want to invest and earn with them but do not have the required courage.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think HODL is bad for your health? on: March 17, 2018, 11:32:26 AM
I find it kinda hard to HODL when the marketing is bearish... there is a lot of stress:p
Do you think going HODL might be bad for the health?Smiley

For the past two weeks price of bitcoins is decreasing continuously. It used to disappoint me a lot and then I stopped seeing daily stats. I do not need the money that I have invested urgently and I am not going to withdraw before 3-4 years. If you are on the same post, you should also stop checking the bitcoin price frequently to reduce stress.
1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Anonymity on: March 17, 2018, 11:30:40 AM
You are absolutely right, and that's why people that actually value anonymity over everything else are using monero. That is also the reason why those saying that bitcoin is used for illegal activities are just wrong, because privacy is very important for those cases, and once again, people prefer to use monero if they want to stay hidden.

I have no problem with bitcoin they way it is now. You can always use a lot of addresses, in order to increase the level of anonymity. That will also keep fees lower, so you have all the incentives in using several addresses for different transactions. Everything is still tracked, but it's harder.

Finally, bitcoin anonymity will improve a lot with the lightning network, because you can make several transactions inside a channel, and only the "final" transaction will be recorded in the blockchain (once the channel is closed), so people wont be able to trace your activity, and that is good.

Anonymity is one of the features that gives bitcoin adn edge over the other payment options like credit cards and PayPal. Companies like PayPal require you to submit all identity documents , contact information and bank credit card details. They can easily track you and give this information to government agencies. Bitcoin is way better in this aspect.
1447  Economy / Speculation / Re: best time to buy bitcoin on: March 17, 2018, 11:24:53 AM
hi guys as you can see , bitcoin dropped now less THAN 8,314.88 USD., AND IM PRETTY SURE IT WILL STEADY AT ITS PRICE TILL APRIL, SO RIGHT NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO BUY BITCOIN, DONT MISS ITS PROFIT, AS ITS BOOMING AGAIN IN 20KUSD AT THE END OF 2018. SELL YOUR HOUSE OR ANY STUFF THAT IS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR LIFE, MAKE MONEY WHILE SLEEPING. IM DOING IT RIGHT NOW.hahaha

I do not suggest anyone to sell his house and invest until he has multiple houses. Senior members here have already suggested that one should invest only that amount in bitcoins that one is ready to loose. So if you ready to loose your house and then live on streets, go for it. I do not invest more than 20-30% of my savings in bitcoins.
1448  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie, Jr Members, Members suffering from merit-phobia: Explanations and Advice on: March 17, 2018, 11:19:24 AM
Well I've given merit to brand new members for their first posts, but I do agree that there is an element of luck. Maybe if I had visited that board a day later, the post/thread would have been on page 3, and I wouldn't have seen it.

How is this luck, I think it is actually good and requires all member to remain active. Anyone making a constructive post in the beginning of the thread must be given preference for merits in my opinion just because he is more active than others. This is also a good tip for members looking after merits, they have more chances of getting merits in threads which have got less responses but you have to post useful and related content.
1449  Other / Meta / Re: Two suggestions regarding Merit on: March 17, 2018, 11:14:35 AM
merit is not a good way to handle with the problems that shall be solved, it just simply will cause another question and do nothing help to reduce the scam posts, because there are many high rank members post scams to hunt bounties

Merit is of course helping the forum in a number of ways. New members are making a lot of constructive posts and in many cases they are leaving even senior members behind in terms of getting merits. Regarding senior ranks still making useless posts for bounties, this is true only for some members. However, we are seeing initiatives taken by campaign managers where they are giving more pay to members having some earned merits  for all ranks.
1450  Other / Meta / Re: Feeling sad on: March 17, 2018, 11:11:04 AM
I just rank up today at 70 activity but still I'm a Junior member because my merits are not enough, so I feel so sad..because honestly I'm having hard time earning it. I don't have much knowledge in bitcoin though I research but not all sink in my mind so its really hard for me to earn merit.. Is there any other way to earn merit except for quality posts? Please excuse my grammar.

First of all, do not get disappointed so easily. You have already achieved 5 merit points and thus reached halfway. You are still doing better than a lot of new members who have not got a single merit. Regarding getting merits for ways other than quality posts, you can try making good compilation of threads related to particular topic. Choose a topic which is not covered already.
1451  Other / Meta / Re: RANK & MERIT-BASED Signature Campaigns (an attempt) on: March 17, 2018, 11:08:40 AM
Also, I can guarantee, that all those lower ranks that are going all over the forum right now, will just give up after a few months because they'll realize that they won't get merit with those posts. So, some of them will probably slow down and improve while the rest will just give up or wait for some bounty threads. Can't win 'em all.

I don't think so. Sadly, this lower ranks has their own way of gaining some merits that can make them rank to member. Yes, it is not that a problem there are a lot more lower ranks that will flourish make their way to member and spam the forum until they are a legion of accounts with the same ranks that is ready to be ranked up and just joining bounty campaigns that will earn themselves some currencies.

Unless every bounty campaigns require KYC to reduce this accounts.

KYC is not going to be implemented by the admin as he mentioned this in one of the posts. I am also not a big fan of KYC as these things are easily abused. Any smart internet user has knowledge about places where he can get fake documents for KYC. These people are able to bypass the KYC requirement for leading websites like PayPal using these documents and thus they will easily fake it here as well.
1452  Other / Meta / Re: Merits for Constructive Opinion on: March 17, 2018, 11:05:40 AM
Hi folks! I am certain that my opinions through my posts are indeed constructive and viable to some members. I am stuck at Junior Member rank. I'm still posting enough to add it to my activity but it seems I'm never gonna rank up. How will be able to obtain merits? What mostly topics should be discussed?

I checked your recent posts and you are posting good content. But there is huge content for merit points and thus you will have to make some exceptional posts. Ranking up to member level is easiest in my opinion as it requires only 10 merit points. This can be achieved with a single quality thread and many new members had achieved this. My suggestion for you will be to make helpful replies in meta section, something you have not done as per your recent posts.
1453  Other / Meta / Re: My conspiracy theory about spammers on: March 17, 2018, 11:03:06 AM
I am pretty sure I have seen a few shill posters on here, but I wouldn't say the forum is under a spam attack, as I rarely come across a post I would genuinely consider completely spam. I think a lot of people come here thinking that they have finally found the promised land, and then realize this is more hostile territory than they are used to, and their low quality posts won't be tolerated.

I have also observed this. I saw a post by a member here posting that he is having problem getting his first merit. I was responding to his thread after few days and he already got 3 merits till then for other posts. I checked his past posts and they were much better than the posts he made before making hat thread.

I also remember a post about someone selling his house for bitcoin investment. It looked like a way to get attention and was quite old post. When I checked recent posts of that person, he was making awesome contribution in alt coin section.
1454  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 17, 2018, 10:58:25 AM
i am in desperate need of merit.
84 activity but zero merit.
I want to rise in rank.and trying to write good post but im not a techie so not getting merit i guess.

Unfortunately, you will not be given any merit only because you need it. You should not take any shortcut also if you want to level up just like some scammers are trying to. This will result in your account getting negative trust or banned which will make the account completely useless.

I will suggest you to remain patient and keep making good posts. Also, try to act smarter and post things like infographics or other detailed tutorials to help members.
1455  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin down again below $ 10000 on: March 09, 2018, 08:13:47 AM
If thenb bitcoin price is going down in my opinion this is a good opportunity to invest in bitcoin. for me it is good to my investment in bitcoin atleast i can buy more now then hold it until the end of the year.

This is certainly a good time for people to buy bitcoins as prices are low again. But those who invested at higher price levels are stuck with the investment. It was rising slowly and went to $12000 but has started dropping again. Experienced investors may wait longer but new investors will not show so much patience. I am also surprised with this as there is no major negative news about crypto recently.
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Homeless use Bitcoin on: March 09, 2018, 08:01:53 AM
Guys what do you think about Homeless people who use cryptocurrency on the street is that an evolution or something else ?

It is hard to believe such news. These people may be having a smartphone but they do not have the awareness about bitcoins. I have some people living some distance away from my home in open. These people do not have any access to TV or newspaper and I am sure that they do not have nay idea about bitcoins. We should first make them skillful enough to get some job or start a small business. They will learn about savings and investments later.
1457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What country bitcoin is more popular? on: March 09, 2018, 07:59:42 AM
I am wondering what is the country where many population are doing this kind of thingy?  Huh Where are those people who are joining campaigns here at bitcointalk and also supporting bitcoin lives? what is the reason why people in those country wants to do bitcoin.
Bitcoin is popular everywhere. I think that the developing countries can see a huge rise in number of bitcoin investors. There are still a lot of people in developing countries like India who are n two minds regarding investing in bitcoins. Main reason is lack of awareness. Also, the government in these countries need to set up special bodies for doing research on crypto and then spending money to advertise these.
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin die, no more cryptos can alive. on: March 09, 2018, 07:09:24 AM
Bitcoin is big name in crypto world. if it dies it impact on all crypto currencies. Eth also can not safe.
If by passing of time Eth increase faith of investor in itself then it can leave behind bitcoin.

We have already seen incidents when bitcoin prices falling down results in all coins getting red. If you see the current scenario, it is happening again. Bitcoin prices have dropped about 105 in last 3 days and all coins are going down. I think by the time bitcoin dies, we will have some new concept developed.
1459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miss Bitcoin on: March 09, 2018, 06:36:41 AM
If you are having 10000 bitcoin and not careful enough to keep it safely, you deserve to loose it. It is understandable that some person who used to mine or buy in early stages (when it was $1-$10), he might have taken it lightly and thus forgot about the investment. But someone investing at current price levels, $10000 or so will certainly have the wallet and password details written at multiple places.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After 3 months, what do you have? on: March 09, 2018, 06:33:43 AM
Since I joined the crypto market. My gain is zero. I only have experiences and lessons. Does that have been called successful? Huh  Undecided

Certainly that is some success. You are better than those :

1) People who are just dreaming about bitcoins and how their future investment will make them millionaires. They do not realize that they are already losing time as the prices are rising everyday.

2) People who just keep complaining about bitcoins based on rumors and past online scams. They have never tried the bitcoin investments themselves or even researched about it.
