1441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways of earning merit. on: January 29, 2020, 06:55:22 PM
I just found out that earning merit is the most important factor in increasing your rank. Now looking at the posts of the forum, how some people earned so much credits/merit?

They did it by putting in a lot of efforts that you didn't. Earning merits is not as simple as it seems, you need to be highly productive in your content. And believe me, airdropped merits are worth shit to me and cannot be seen as something appreciated but rather more helped.

Quote
I am not here for long time, that's fair. But earning 1000 merit will mean at least 1000 posts that will be highly appreciated by others.

So based on your theory, I should have at least 2335 merits with me because my post count is 2335 (including this one), right?

Quote
So the point here is, doesn't matter how good your posts are. It matters how much are these appreciated by those that already have the merit to share. But what if that specific person doesn't want to share its own credits?

Your words speak. And they show what you are and what level of knowledge you possess. The same thing can be seen in your post that you have got no determination nor dedication to become helpful to this community 'and you cannot become helpful to anybody because of your way of thinking'. It is anybody's right to keep or share their sMerits to anyone they want/don't want, you cannot put all your eggs into one basket and the same rule applies here.
1442  Economy / Economics / Bakkt is done? on: January 29, 2020, 06:45:41 PM
We were all waiting eagerly for its release and since it launched its Bitcoin options on December 9, a wave of happiness was spread among everyone that now BTC will be moon, now we will lambo and what not. But, what happened defines a very different story and we can't deny how badly the last 10 days went for Bakkt when zero trading volume knocked their doors.

https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/54294/bakkts-bitcoin-options-saw-zero-volume-last-week

Go there and read, how calmly the ICE's spokesperson said during a recent interview that Bakkt continues to see “strong” interest in both its bitcoin options and futures products.

If that is the case, why their working product is yet not being used since 10 days and why the volume of institutional investors is so low at Bakkt compared to CME futures?
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [JAN 2020] Fees are low, use this opportunity to Consolidate your small inputs! on: January 29, 2020, 04:45:14 PM
Bumping the good work but want to add a caution that some fee value spikes are happening these days where I have seen some users paying 100 satoshis per byte to get their transactions win in the race of getting involved in a block. Does the low fee 'like 1-5 satoshis per byte' remain during some specific timings?
1444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Consolidate wallets on: January 29, 2020, 10:38:58 AM
address reuse is a bad idea

A bad idea? I am used to a single address [let's say you have set up a vanity address with your own letters choice involved in it, would you leave it if it is your favorite one?]
Bad idea because transaction fee could be higher because more inputs take place on a single address?

Quote
with an hd wallet you can have an unlimited number of addresses that all spring from one seed.

I know but I rather stick to an older single one because everyone has different mentality and choices, and mine is this.

Just do 1. Messing about with private keys is risky and backups will be harder in the future. Wallets are now deterministic which means a one time backup is good for life. But if you import arbitrary private keys those benefits go out the window.

So if I need a single address to rely upon 'and it could be forever', I should still keep a complete backup of a whole set of addresses when I can simply export the private key of that required address? What benefits are you addressing here?
1447  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on the World War 3 and its possible impacts on future? on: January 22, 2020, 11:04:07 PM
Moreover reason we don't hope to see a world war 3. There is nothing fun about it. Many believe that if there is one, cryptocurrency price especially Bitcoin will rise. But what's the need of having a raised price in Bitcoin when everywhere is in conflict. When electricity is down, spending Bitcoin becomes difficult.

Who cares about crypto if WW3 takes place. It is seen that people of all countries want peace and unity globally but politicians try to mess up and create panic among their citizens making them believe that a crucial situation may arise and the citizens become 'the ringing bell' here for no reason. It is not just electricity, but the morale of human being will also get down if WW3 ever takes place. I am left with a few years of my life and expect no war, just pray for peace everywhere all the time. 🤞
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting exchange or regular sports book on: January 22, 2020, 10:51:16 PM
But don't you think that PvP exchanges need users to place bets against you? And even if they have the users, why would someone place a bet against a potentially winning team? I mean, it is possible that you say, "Bitcoin will go under $7k in 30 days" and I show up with my bet putting my money all above $7k, so we can wait to see who wins during those 30 days.

But what will happen if you and me are on the same track and all of us are supporting the same team? When we both will not have someone betting against us, how will we win something? And there is one more rule here, the more people bet on your side, the more percentage you will lose in that match so odds will get adjusted accordingly.
1449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short term bullish run is now over, and it was most likely a failed rally on: January 22, 2020, 10:41:08 PM
OP, your chart is worth a thousand spits and not words.
I am not sorry for my words because you are just seeing a 6H chart and to define history, you will need to consider higher range timeframe in your charts before outlining a possible break downwards moving us into the bearish situation. I do not see BTC to be coming below $7500 during 2020 at the least, so mark my words if you want to.
1450  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost my money through electrum withdraw on: January 22, 2020, 10:32:05 PM
First of all check your transaction is confirmed or not,if you sent bitcoin with very low transaction fee then it will take too long to get confirmed.

And also verify that you downloaded the official electrum site https://electrum.org/#home

Even 1 sat fee a byte transactions are confirming in around 1-6 hours as well as 0 fee transactions are getting accepted in max 24 hours period, how much do you want OP to send as fee? 0.01 BTC per byte? /sarcasm
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you go to blockchain/crypto events? on: January 22, 2020, 09:59:30 PM
I've attended just one where I saw Vitalik Buterin and it was a great experience. Though I encountered that he spoke more about his smart contracts and Ethereum instead of talking about Bitcoin and the Blockchain technology. It was my bad as I am not good at technical part and that's what was discussed mostly. CES was missed by me and I have been watching videos uploaded by users who gathered there, such an innovative event with the world's leading tech giants representing their skills through their works.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/01/22/good-chance-of-a-us-iran-deal-if-trump-is-reelected-damac-chairman.html

Have you read this latest news? It says that according to a Dubai based nobleman, Trump wants to make a deal with Iran if he's re-elected. A political move or a possibility of peace happening between both these countries during this stressed environment? I think Trump is all into making US declare a war against Iran 'before he goes out of power'.
1453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 22, 2020, 08:46:05 PM
Mine wasn't a lot different than yours, DdmrDdmr.
Actually, I heard about the buzzing word 'Bcoin Bcoin', you know the accent part. Then I asked my friend what is all this about and he asked me, Google "Bitcoin". I said, "Wait! W...what? Bit...Bitcoin?" He said, "Yes, correct."
I asked him, "What is it?"
He was also not much known to it but asked me to visit a Bitcoin forum to know more about it (he didn't know the name of the forum then). I immediately took my phone in my hands to know about this new big thing I was not at all aware about, and then the second result was Bitcointalk forum, that's how I landed here.
1454  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 🎈 Paratica | The Most Advanced Cryptocurrency Auto-Trading Solution on: January 22, 2020, 08:20:09 PM
Are we able to stop the bot and sell manually when we do not want to use the bot and does it adjust trailing stop levels for the maximum profit?

He clearly said that it is not a bot, but a platform where you can create your own strategies and trade based on it or just follow a trader and copy their trades:

You are right, no withdraw allowance which makes Paratica completely safe. It is not a bot that takes your money and trades for you, it is a huge platform allowing you to create your unique strategy or follow an expert.

OP, how many positions will I be able to copy/open during 1 week trial? After purchasing a plan on the website, if for any reason, I'm not satisfied from your services, can I opt out immediately and get a refund for the remaining timeline?
1455  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos please ban ME! on: January 22, 2020, 08:03:57 PM
When someone is asking to be banned because of that, yes I think it is.
Look at his merit page. How this guy could earn as much merits as that if he is a bad member?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=1003533

While I agree to suchmoon's statement, I checked his merit history on your demand and those were all local posts. I don't remember if Yobit ever counted them (or was it for some specific boards)?

Whatsoever, the guy is trying to drag yobit's advertisement in Meta in such a stupid way we can't imagine about. There was no need to create all this drama here. About yobit's investbox, yeah that's shit as I've my own personal experiences. Dice looks shady too and their coins show volumes out of thin air (check their buy/sell sides both, see the orders kept there, then check the history of orders either sold or bought and you'll see).

OP, there is no need for such violence when you could just leave us alone in silence. Cheesy
1456  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You CANNOT trade successfully without RISK-MANAGEMENT on: January 22, 2020, 07:02:52 PM
Risk:Reward (RR) ratio of each trade is something that I am trying to learn since years but I am still not so good at it because the fact is, we cannot control our greed which comes ahead of the reward we are already getting and that is where we stop our understanding of risks that lie in the trade while we wait longer and either lose what we have gained already or get stopped out. Patience is the key for most here but I follow RR system and if understood correctly, I don't guarantee high returns but better gains come through your way.
1457  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Crypto Trading 1-ON-1 [UNIQUE METHOD] | Made 31K within a 30 day period! on: January 22, 2020, 12:38:52 PM
I received a vouch copy from the guy with all the instructions given in it. Though performing all the steps as said, I didn't make a lot of money considering my shortage of BTC and could have earned much better if I had more BTC. He told me what not to do, to save myself from being scammed. Those who know the platform, don't know the type of payment platforms OP earns mostly through. I can say that if you follow him carefully with each of the steps taken wisely as well as you have some patience, you can earn good returns on your spent time and BTC.

1459  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Doubt the possibility of a scam] BestChange Bounty and Signature Campaign. on: January 15, 2020, 09:01:10 PM
Does it really matters? Do they need high ranked account with positive trust to start campaign without escrow? I would understand if it would be new, not well known company. But c'mon, Bestchange is old established company with good reputation, I don't see any reasons why they would need to hire escrow when they can make payments themselves. And it's obviously not about escrow service fee which they would have to pay. Do you really think that they are going to damage their reputation to get some  free advertising? It just doesn't make sense. What if huge company like Binance would start their campaign without escow, would you complain about it too.
I understand that you want to protect people from possible scams, and I obviously support it when there is real risk. But sometimes some of you go too far like in this case.

Reputation? Are you talking about a reputation they gained by paying pennies to their users by logging on their website and visiting faucets? I haven't seen a user commenting on their monitoring services but most of them were just 'too happy' that they got paid a few satoshis every 60 minutes to use their faucet on their website. Do you call it a 'reputation built'?
1460  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MegaDice SCAM, over 19 BTC stolen on: January 15, 2020, 08:53:43 PM
@newalias,
Why didn't you take a screenshot asking your withdrawal of BTC19? I know you were not aware of the deed that was going to be done by MegaDice (according to you).
Why did you go to game-protect, that mentally bruteforced pottyeater for your claim? You know that guy/girl/transgender never helps anyone but just tries to distract and put your case out of order!
