Interesting news  Wink.
http://www.coindesk.com/spondoolies-tech-ceo-talks-new-asics-blockchain-lottery-device/
Quote
Spondoolies-Tech is currently working on two separate designs: a 28nm ASIC set to launch in early 2015, followed by fourth-generation chips manufactured using an unspecified FinFET node. Most cryptocurrency ASIC companies do not disclose their manufacturing partners and Spondoolies is no exception. Instead of describing the new chip as a 14nm or 16nm design, which would more or less identify the foundry, Corem prefers to use "advanced process" FinFET terminology.

...Corem indicated that Spondoolies has made a conscious decision to skip the 20nm node altogether.

oooooh that is an exciting morsel  Grin

and completely backs up what I said months ago about 20nm being a stepping stone.
i like it when raskul is always right

Quote
Spondoolies-Tech's next-generation platform will not be suitable for home mining, however, as it will feature 10 hashing boards, each with its own PSU.
Whoa! 10 power supplies! Interested to see what this will look like...

one thing is for sure.. it's not going in my mum's garage!

Under the bed then? Wink

I just placed an order.  I did not receive an email.  Was I supposed to?

M

If they are not automatic, the emails from SPT have some delay. You're not the only customer.
Support is with a couple of days delay too, maybe because of the weekend overlapping here .. I still got no reply from my emails relating to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521520.msg9672671#msg9672671

Meanwhile .. it's crap ... sorry for my choice of words ..

Please tell us which machine failed  in your case it looks like you had an sp30 or sp31

as for 2 day delay.  fri and sat they are closed.

I have the sp20 it is very good after 1 week so good I ordered 2 more.--------------I underclock mine to 760 watts and 1324 gh I use mmpool.org to mine

I tested with btcguild and with westhash both good.

It is important to let people know what is wrong and what is right about a company products.

Its an SP30/1 he has had a power supply failure, so its only running at half speed (SP30 has two PSU's)

wh00per I had a similar thing with one of mine, using email only it took a day or so of testing but they were quick to send out a new PSU.

Your version does not recognise VPD as SP20. We will fix this, but in the mean-time there is a simple way to fix this:

1) ssh into the unit
2) type "echo SP2x > /model_id; echo SP20 > /model_name;"
3) Do FW upgrade (2.5.27)

Update me if this worked.

echo SP2x > /model_id; echo SP20 >      /model_name;  not found

too many spaces between..?

Quote
SP20 >      /model_name;

No.
http://www.perearstike.ee/avatar/not.found.jpg

Don't type the word "type" and don't put quotes around it either.

At the command prompt just put:

Code:
echo SP2x > /model_id; echo SP20 > /model_name;

Looks fine to me, mined for 40 minutes, output matches whats seen on other pools and whats on the miner
1470  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: November 28, 2014, 11:13:58 PM
Guys, I would need some of you to test how well a Spondoolies SP20 works on our pool NiceHash / WestHash. Could somebody please try to connect to our stratum for like a half an hour or so and see if hashrate reported on our site is the same as reported by miner?

stratum+tcp://stratum.nicehash.com:3334 -u yourBTCaddress -p x

stratum+tcp://stratum.westhash.com:3334 -u yourBTCaddress -p x

When your miner successfully connects, take a look at the miner stats page:

https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=miners&a=1&addr=enterYourBTCaddress

Please report if you have success because we have some customers interested in upgrading to SP20.

Thanks!

Forgot to add ... stratum.westhash.com if you are from USA / Asia and stratum.nicehash.com if you are from EU / Russia ... thx!

At the end of the day, ROI is still king though. I can get 8.8 TH/s for 200$ more if I go with S4s, vs 4.9 TH/s.

I really don't mean to thread shit SP, and I hope that's not how this is coming across. I'm legitimately trying to justify an SP31 and I'm hoping for someone to weigh in. It won't take much to be honest, if only to treat myself to the crème de la crème of Bitcoin hardware.

For me its also about hosting costs, it would cost 3 times as much to host 2 S4's as it would to host 1 SP35 because they take up 4TH@6U vs 5.5TH@2U

And 4.5 times as much for 3 of them 6TH@9U vs 5.5TH@2U

Soo.. no opinion.. SP31 now or SP35 maybe at end of Dec...

What are most peoples SP31's running at? Anywhere near 4.9 on 210V?

Well I couldn't help myself.

Buying another SP20 using the proceeds of old miner sales that have more than made their money back Cheesy

In return getting the same output but much lower power usage.

Now.. for big boys toys.. seems to make sense to get the SP31 with immediate delivery right? Compared to the extra 500Gh but maybe 1 month later delivery of the SP35?
1480  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 28, 2014, 12:55:48 AM
I was specifically referring to barabara, who in the emails where i asked for a discount neglected to mention any sale and in fact advised me to buy asap...

would it not THEN have been logical to mention there is a sale starting imminently...?

OK, so will you (SPT) honor the 100USD discount seeing as my order is still    'pending & unfulfilled'   $940.00   ?

Email guy and Katya they are normally pretty good about it
