1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: May 17, 2016, 04:51:14 PM
My theory would be that we are now seeing some Chinese exchanges buying some ETH in order to have liquidity for launching their own markets. There is enough smoke around the OKCoin rumor to assume that it is likely they will be in the game soon. Similar to what we saw earlier in the year where the rise was largely driven by exchanges like Kraken, Bitfinex, and Gemini buying to build stock. Likely when the Chinese exchanges actually announce support for ETH markets, it will be a non-event because the buying to support those markets has already happened but we are seeing the effects now.

"Bad" timing for them though since supply was just reduced by 15% in the previous two weeks due to the DAO.

Will those DAO Ethereum come back to the market in the future?

Well many invested in DAO with the rate of 1 ETH = 100 DAO when the price per ETH was sub 0.02...so I think many tokens will be burned back to ETH if the price is above 0.03 after the creation phase. However it's hard to predict how will it all play out, burning tokens without proposals make them more valuable for the remaining holders since there will be less. A possible scenario is that many will burn dao tokens and cash out their ETH, this will make ETH price drop a lot but increase the price of the tokens, so it's a catch 22.

KD put the dot. westbrook impress all the okc fans, what a game. no one expected this lost for gsw in front of all the crowds game 2 would be an exciting fight I'm sure gsw will bounce back in this game. good luck.
You are absolutely wrong, I was expecting it though. I was one of the few who already saw it coming. With there game series versus the spurs I really thought that they will be dominated by the spurs as we know for the fact that the spurs has the home come advantage and they played extremely well during the regular season.

However, I was surprised and almost cannot believe it that they just ended the spurs at six. Thanks to the play of westbrook who's maniac in terms of scoring and rebounding. This guy is just proving himself as he was so underrated player who can play at all ends of the floor.

The guy just can't seem to quit or rest, physically he can play for the full 48 minutes but mentally I think it weights on him and fatigue starts to set in making him commit turnovers and poor shot selection. I think the Warriors will start to pay some attention to OKC and not rest on their own potential and star power so much (like San Antonio did). When they started to realize the Thunder was trouble the series was already over...
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 16, 2016, 08:40:53 PM
so um... at this point, does anyone else feel like the project is overfunded?  i almost think i should have keep my eth...

Full disclaimer: I put 1 eth in for 100dao..

A lot of DAO tokens will be burned back to ETH so don't think that will be the final number it will decrease a lot, how much we don't know, it's pure speculation based on ETH price and DAO tokens price too when they start to get traded.
1464  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: May 15, 2016, 05:47:50 PM
I think you have a shot only if the Yuan devalues and China goes on a Bitcoin/gold frenzy as some are predicting. For me it's a very long shot, like 1 in a million or so but if that happens, you will be a millionaire alright Wink. That's in the short term.

In the long term, if everything keeps going well with BTC and it starts getting more popular and increasing in price each year as it happened since its inception, well I can definitely see prices for 1 BTC around 5-10k by 2030 or so, not sure if that sounds great to you but I think that's something more realistic (I would say you have 50-50 chances of that happening).
1465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There is no life in Gambling can you accept this....?? on: May 15, 2016, 05:37:16 PM
Of course there's life in gambling, but you have to take it as an entertainment only, as you would with a movie ticket or similar. The odds are against you but if you truly enjoy gambling and playing games is great, just keep in mind that the house will always have an edge and consider your bet/money already gone the minute you start gambling and you will be fine.
1466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your favorite gambling games? on: May 15, 2016, 05:34:38 PM
I prefer to bet on sports but in terms of pure casino games I always loved Blackjack and Roulette, those are the most populars for a reason. Poker is great but I feel that it doesn't have that same adrenaline rush that doubling down on Blackjack or betting on a single number in a Roulette has. Of course going "all in" is great but that's hardly the case in casino games or online sites.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2016 Play-Off Discussion on: May 15, 2016, 03:48:58 PM
I think it's obvious to state that Miami has the experience on their side but will miss Whiteside (on top form) and Bosh much more than Valanciunas in Toronto. On the other side, Toronto has a better team I guess but they are a little shaky at home and they don't seem to be able to close games early on.

With that being said, I would say Miami has the edge because they have nothing to lose and they will play more at ease, the pressure is on for Toronto. I'm sure it will be a very (ugly) close game haha.

I think holding about 5% of your bitcoins into ETH makes sense now just in case.

Maybe 10% if you actually believe in it more.

I still have my doubts about ETH but it's track record is speaking for itself.

Lol, I remember when the bubble was about to burst every day and to this day "bitcoiners" are still in denial, yeah, 5% will do it, please, right now anything that's not 50-50 or something like that it's a joke and if you ask me, the upside for ETH is huge compared to BTC, do you really think it will pass $500 easily? I mean it could but I doubt it and I can almost guarantee it will never pass $1000 ever again unless some sort of miracle or paradigm shift happens.

On the other hand, Ethereum with each new release and improvement, news, deals, dapps can easily reach $20 in the next 3 or 4 months (which is not a completely crazy price considering all the interest in it), that's easier than BTC going for 1K. I won't even predict non-realistic prices like $50 or $100 but hey, there's a chance for that by the end of the year or next year too if you are very optimistic.

Miami Heat 98 @ 99 Toronto Raptors
1472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Play-Off Discussion on: May 13, 2016, 08:51:31 PM
Miami Heat has pretty good chance to beat Toronto Raptors into this 6th leg but it is really hard to place bet on money line of any team and i think this game will be very tight and low scoring, previous 5 meeting have average around 182 points and i will pick under 190 points @1.842

Agreed with you because i also think this match will get finished around 180 points and i also have my bet on under 190 points there.

It'll be Toronto for me, they'll finish the Miami Heat now that DeRozan and Lowry seem to regain their shooting touch during the previous game.

Agreed Toronto is the safest bet if you are choosing ML tonight. I don't really like them as a team but I think Miami is looking out of its depth right now and the Raptors will seize their chance.
1473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 13, 2016, 04:09:51 PM
so nearly 600 million DAO tokens created as I write this.

Seems that there is bound to be more or less 1 Billion DAO tokens eventually.

Yeah, good luck trying to pump that.

 Grin

Are you an idiot? It's not a cryptocurrency where scarcity could apply, those are shares and 1 Billion is absolutely nothing if you can hold 10-100k or more of them easily and cheap.

Questioning if the DAO itself will be successful or not is another different beast altogether though...
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Play-Off Discussion on: May 13, 2016, 02:10:44 PM
Oklahoma city and Cleveland Cavaliers will make a good semi-final, hard to tell who will be the winner.

Golden State is in the finals at this point, both Miami and Toronto are too weak to win more than 1 game against them

Cleveland swept the floor in the regular season with OKC, both games won by more than 20 points margin I think and it was the same in the previous season, I don't think they can guard Lebron and that's the problem with most of the teams. Only the Spurs (Leonard) and the Warriors (Iguodala and team defense) had been able to slow him down regularly.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Play-Off Discussion on: May 12, 2016, 10:27:10 PM
I have this feeling tonight San Antonio Spurs will pull a win at Thunder tonight just like what they did last time its crazy that both teams are having a hard time to win on their home.

If the Spurs get a win tonight it basically means game over for the Thunder, I very much doubt OKC could win 3 games at San Antonio. So I think the Thunder has one shot and it is tonight.

I was part of this campaign and I truly recommend it, zengryT is an awesome manager. I'm committed to my current one which is also amazingly managed so I'm not unable to rejoin but I wouldn't hesitate one second to join it if you are not a spammer. Very glad to see serious and efficient signature campaigns functioning perfectly on Bitcointalk again, we had a dry spell I guess.

Good luck!
1477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO questions on: May 11, 2016, 10:29:32 PM
Thanks for that reply,

I understand more now, but its still confusing as hell haha

OK so the 5m eth has gone into slock.it, in return i own tokens in slock.it, can those reward tokens be then sold or traded on exchange? and the actual dao tokens themself they will be tradeable ?

Yes they will be tradeable like DGD (DigixDAO). I think the rewards can be either in DAO tokens to increase your position or you can opt for ETH.
1478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Play-Off Discussion on: May 11, 2016, 06:19:52 PM
As much as I hate Westbrook for all the trash talk that he has done, he really played with heart on that last game. I wonder how the Spurs would respond, I'm thinking they're gonna feed Aldridge the ball more often.

This next game would be exciting odds-wise.  Grin Grin Grin

The Spurs looked very slow, old and tired as if they couldn't keep up with the Thunder and maybe that's the case. If the Thunder win the series I think it's time for Manu & Duncan to retire and they should even part ways with Parker too...
1479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO questions on: May 11, 2016, 06:14:22 PM
Hi all,

just trying to get my head around the DAO before I invest.

so its possible to take back your eth if you want to opt out of the dao in the future, does this mean you get the same amount of eth back that you invested or can that change go up and down?

I already invested but it's very confusing since it's a complete new concept, nobody really knows for sure how it will all work and when they try to explain it's actually more confusing since 100 more questions pop out.

But regarding your question, yes, if there are no surprises you can split from the DAO (before any proposal is approved) and you will get your ETH back.

What was the price during the ICO sale? I can't find it anywhere so I can compare to current prices.
