2441  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price coming down on: December 27, 2015, 04:39:32 PM
We never know the reason why a fluctuation in price happens in Bitcoin unless it's very evident. However in this case, you make a very good point, it totally makes sense. If that was the case it should happen every year though if the price was relative stable in the weeks prior. Anyone remember something like this?
2442  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price will rise even if its value doesn't on: December 27, 2015, 04:37:08 PM
If Bitcoin is actually used, it will always increase in price from what it is now. However Bitcoin is not actually needed in the world right now, that's why it's not adopted by the mainstream (plus it's very technical and complicated for the average person). If Bitcoin can't create actual demand it will be at risk of disappear in the upcoming years. It can't stay a commodity with no real value or use for decades. Gold is different, it's used in tech devices and it will always hold its value as a trading good.
2443  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beginning of the trend reversal on: December 27, 2015, 04:32:58 PM
Correct on what, let's wait to the end of the week, I think it still has a chance of reaching $500. It will come back down after that of course. The weekends are always different. The drop will not continue on Monday and the price will be again around $450. After that I think there would be a quick spike coming that will take the price to $470-480 if not more.
2444  Economy / Speculation / Re: Triple top, low volume, it's going to fall. on: December 27, 2015, 04:25:25 PM
The weekends are always different from regular days, we'll see what happens this week, is the last of the year. I still think we can reach $500 during a quick spike but it will come down after that of course.

What happened to Cleveland??? anyone saw that game? I cant believe they lost by 30 to portland!!

I didn't so I can't really say, but someone told me that the lack of effort from the Cavs was appalling and Portland didn't even have Lillard. I think they must have been unfocused after the GSW loss but that's just not a valid excuse. Will the Cavs bounce back against the Suns?
2446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shocking Times: Movement for Pedophile “Rights” Marches On on: December 26, 2015, 09:40:03 PM
I'm not sure if anyone here is putting them in the same bag. Some users here I think are talking in general terms because the LGBTM is doing activism on the rights of pedophiles. But I also see the word "gay" throw out everywhere without any care (and with malevolence if you ask me) when it has nothing to do with the subject.
2447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A decentralized game could change the world? Similar to Second Life but with BTC on: December 26, 2015, 09:32:16 PM
It's definitely a good idea and concept. The way I think it could be implement right now is if facebook or google implement a platform like this, where you actually have a virtual self. We already have that of course in our profiles but it's all fragmented into different sites and services like twitter, youtube, facebook, instagram, etc. Many of this digital goods you could buy or gain access to like movies, music, etc, are actually experimented by your virtual self, they never materialize.

Perhaps Second Life can be sort of "Myspace", and the new platform would be Facebook. It was actually very similar to Myspace if you think about it but more restricted and focused and with that sense of elitism in its college origins.

facebook or google?

They would only create a centralized system... those companies wouldn't dare to create a total decentralized system, they have to follow the US legislation bullsh*t.

First there was paypal... then bitcoin.

First there was second life... then [insert future decentralized game name here]

Something like this has to come out! Call Satoshi to make it!

Ok those are better analogies I guess, I was just making some examples and points of comparison regardless the decentralized aspect. But I think there's definitely room for something like this, the problem is that nobody here can really "see" it, if not we would be millionaires.

2449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hold onto your balls gentlemen , the halvening is coming! ;) on: December 26, 2015, 03:32:17 PM
There's no bitcoin scarcity. There are MILLIONS of them being dumped EVERYDAY.  There's no mass adoption either. Nobody else around the world gives a sh$t about bitcoins. Only a chosen few here on the forum are constantly beating drums about $350K, $500K, or even $1million bitcoins.

The recent rise in price is due to the whales and manipulators drumming up the price in Anticipation of the Halving in July 2016. It's already being priced in. We might go up to $500-600, but that will be the upper range. If you are expecting $1000+, you will be sorely disappointed.

Glad to hear someone with common sense in this forum for a change. While I may be a little more optimistic on the future of Bitcoin long term it's astonishing to read how many here think Bitcoin is so amazing that they can't figure out why their friends or family can't understand it or don't want to be onboard nor use it. Well that's all you need to know about that, they just don't need it. It's hard, complicated, a hassle to buy and sell (mostly on the rest of the world, I understand it's easier in the US and Europe). It requires you to be tech savvy, to use decimals and convert it in your mind to your local currenty or dollars, to remember authorization keys. If you send money by error there are no refunds, you can actually lose millions of dollars if you make a simple mistake like forgetting a password, etc. However, the technology itself is as unique and innovative as the Internet was when it was created, so to me it's foolish to not be part of something like this even if there's a good chance that at the end it'll be replaced by something better or improved.

To invest a huge amount of your savings to me it's not really wise though, but I think it's worth the risk to invest a small share of it and see what happens.

You don't know the meaning of common sense or scarcity if you believe this.
Of course there is bitcoin scarcity!  The trade-off is currently ~$450 USD per bitcoin.

Please, if I understand you correctly, you think there is or will be scarcity, and for that to happen, there should be an actual need or use for Bitcoin, there's not, so we'll see a time when Bitcoin either breaks through the mainstream somehow (maybe not massively adopted but it could start getting used by big companies and stores) or dies. It has no real value and it's virtual, gold has no inherent value but it's physical in that sense, if there's trouble or crisis, gold is always accepted so it's different. Plus it is needed in computers and other devices. Bitcoin has no actual value right now unless it creates one for itself and proves its worth. That's what it will come to.

2451  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: December 25, 2015, 08:00:58 PM
You can't make up these candidates, not even for a movie. It's like House of Cards season 4 or whatever. Hillary Clinton for me is the obvious choice but I find her with a huge thirst for power and a need for establishing her own name because first, she's a woman and secondly she has the Clinton name. So her intentions are not really noble if you ask me, I automatically wouldn't trust someone who is in politics because they liked what they saw or have second intentions like this.

Why is she your obvious choice? There is not one good, positive, uplifting thing you said about her in your post... None.

Why not sanders? I can't stand his policy but at least he fits the lefty agenda better.

Why is harpy clinton a better choice than sanders? Just give us 5 things you love about her.

Unless I misunderstood you as she being the obvious democrat choice?

Yes that's what I meant. I was also projecting the elections, for me it's clear she will be the next US President. Trump has no chance against her.

To be honest for me the Cavs were set to win this game but I watched the Knicks game and the defense was very bad, Irving is far for being game fit so my initial enthusiasm faded. Either way, the Cavs are still the second best team in the league and they can easily come away with a victory, 3.35 odds is very tempting if you are willing to take the risk. I've seen these kind of odds for very weak teams in recent weeks, so for Cleveland these are great odds to bet on. Remember, the Cavs have unfinished business, Love and Irving will try their best to send a message.

I don't think Cavs will beat Warriors into this match because it is more strong team and will take over them easily.

We'll see but you have to agree that 3.35 odds or more are some very good ones to take that risk, it's not like you are betting on the Nets, Wizards, Rockets, etc...the Cavs to me have a very valid chance today, if Irving was doing good I would take that bet blind.

New Orleans @ Miami match is live and as usual Miami is dominating this match too.My bet was on Miami @1.40 before the start of this match. There is another match later between Chicago Bulls vs Oklahoma City Thunder to be placed on.

Those odds were encouraging and pretty fair, not sure if that would be that easy for Miami but good decision on your part, safe bet in my opinion.

I'm still debating if I should take the risk on my Cavs today...3.35 odds in DirectBet is very tempting!
2455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shocking Times: Movement for Pedophile “Rights” Marches On on: December 25, 2015, 03:44:06 PM
Yes well that's the problem we are debating and how full measures like that are actually how it all goes to hell really quick. Either way, you need proof, having murderous thoughts is not enough. If that was the case Marilyn Manson, Judas Priest or Ozzy Osbourne would all be handed life in prison already.
2456  Economy / Speculation / Re: Triple top, low volume, it's going to fall. on: December 25, 2015, 03:40:02 PM
everyone is waiting a down trend, this mean that we will see an up trend, like everyone was waiting an uptrend when we were at 300 and then again we went to 2xx

personally i believe that we will se 500 soon

Completely agree, this happens everytime I see many expecting a drop. The market is highly manipulated and nobody knows much about, maybe a couple of users here and they sure won't post that here.

I think there's a strong chance that we'll see $500 before the next year.
2457  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shocking Times: Movement for Pedophile “Rights” Marches On on: December 25, 2015, 03:32:43 PM
I don't think anyone here defended or tried to sugarcoat the rape of children, consenting or the act of covering up these crimes. What we are debating is a whole different concept but maybe it's still hard to comprehend. You can't lock up young little Hitler for having weird thoughts. You can definitely lock him up the minute he commits a crime. Like bryant.coleman said, you can't condemn someone for their very own nature or for having thoughts or sexual fantasies.

There are plenty of psychopaths that should be locked up if that was the case, but we welcome them in society. But we need them in positions where emotions interfere with the work itself. Lawyers, surgeons, etc. They may be great professionals but I'm sure they are very hard individuals to live with.

2459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Work colleagues laugh at me getting into Bitcoin on: December 25, 2015, 03:03:02 PM
Many people don't even know how to explain how the current economic system work so they think they are on some crazy ponzi scheme. I'm not a Bitcoin fanboy, to me it has miles to go and still in its infancy, mostly in terms of adoption. Common people actually laughing about Bitcoin is a sign that it's too complicated to adopt and use, plain and clear.

However, if you have some spare money, one should have investments like this everywhere really. What's 1 or 2 BTC for many of us? another useless appliance for the house? Bitcoin has a huge potential and it's foolish to not hold a "share" of it if you understand how it works.

On the other hand, it clearly has no real value compared to other stuff. You can say fiat doesn't have inherent value itself but it's not the same. The BTC marketplace is still highly manipulated and there are not many mainstream uses for it.

That's great, you are lucky. It's very interesting to get some perspective on altcoins and how sad all projects turned out with the passing of the years. I think it's the doom of all altcoins sooner of later.
