2181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Oscars on: January 21, 2016, 02:26:18 AM
I was thinking and both Best Director and Visual Effects would be great and safe options to bet on in my opinion. Visual effects is a almost a given but George Miller winning best director would not be a long shot with good odds, think of it as both consolation and career achievement prize.
2182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Happen If Gambling was not introduced? on: January 21, 2016, 02:19:44 AM
Personally nothing because I'm a very casual gambler, but for many people with addictive personalities I can see how it could affect its lives. Sadly they take it too seriously, I don't understand why since they know deep down they can't beat the casinos, plus they seem to never get enough even when they win.
2183  Economy / Gambling / Re: runMartingale - A command-line martingale-based dice gambling simulator on: January 21, 2016, 02:16:54 AM
Martingale can still be used if you want to try it for a small period of time, not for hours. You may encounter a nice streak and cash out without the huge risk of losing it all at the first bet. The problem lime others have said is that if you are a serious gambler, the house edge will get you eventually.
2184  Economy / Gambling / Re: do you play crypto AND fiat poker? single/separate bankrolls? on: January 21, 2016, 02:14:17 AM
Yes sadly in Bitcoin there are not a lot of options for live Poker rooms, they are always empty or very low stakes so it's a little disappointing. There's definitely a niche for a Bitcoin pokerstars like site but so far I don't think it has been filled. Every casual gambler should be excited to use Bitcoin to avoid giving personal info or CCs numbers so I don't know why it is not more popular in these types of sites.

Thanks Michelle, I'll try the other predictions threads too.

In the meantime here's mine for tonight's game: Atlanta 102 @ 91 Portland
2186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 20, 2016, 06:00:10 PM
My pick for today would be Boston @ Toronto - Toronto @ 1.57. The reason behind it is that, first, those are great odds for Toronto playing at home against almost anybody. Secondly, Boston is playing good basketball but it lacks experience and still let games slip away in the late quarters.

Also Detroit @ Houston - Detroit @ 2.28 seems very interesting if you are feeling it. What do you guys think?
2187  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: January 20, 2016, 04:42:34 PM
Yes the ship has already sailed my friends, I don't think we'll see it below $400 anytime soon because if it drops people will want to get in and support will soon be established. The floor was $350-360 but it wasn't easy to buy last week, we didn't know how much more the drop would last, it was freefalling and it could've reached $300 or even less. Now it's very easy to see that it was just panic selling and not really something bigger.
2188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Oscars on: January 20, 2016, 04:37:16 PM
Yes I forgot, a very safe bet would be Best supporting Actor for Stallone, haven't seen Creed but if he is as good as they say, then it should be very sad for them to not give him the Oscar, even as a way of recognizing his long career.

For me The Martian is a very average movie and not very Oscar worthy so I wouldn't bet on it in any category.
2189  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: January 20, 2016, 04:13:45 PM
Please no common person will use Bitcoin in its current state unless it's absolutely needed for a particular site or product. There's absolutely no point why any "woman" would use it, it's a complete hassle. And by woman I mean average non-tech savvy person. If this was the intention of Bitcoin from the start, to be massively adopted or have the WAF, then it's doomed in its current state.

Just think about it, converting fiat in "localbitcoins" or other dubious sites when you have to enter your credit card or bank number. Then decimals, authorization keys, password, brain wallets, address as long as lines of code, qr codes, more decimals, and what for? To remain anonymous? to pay for what? Please, everybody just use CCs and Paypal, it's easy, simple, cheap and equally fast, just argue with them why Paypal is not fast enough for eBay or CCs for Amazon.
2190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Oscars on: January 20, 2016, 04:07:19 PM
I've never bet on them but maybe I should try this year. The Oscars are always predictable in a sense but there are also a lot of surprises so it's not as easy as you may think. I didn't see the Revenant but considering the other nominees I would bet my money on Leo really. In past nominations he had too much competition, but this time I think he's open and ready to score.

For best movie, again, I've only seen Mad Max and loved it, but I don't think the academy is really to start giving Oscars left and right to action movies (because that's what it is, an awesome and unique one though). Sadly they already gave so many to shitty movies like Titanic, Avatar, Dance with Wolves, etc. At least this time I can see two potentially great films (haven't seen them but I know they won't be too bad). Spotlight and The Revenant. From what I understand Spotlight it's a little too complex and touchy subject, and the Academy doesn't like that, best pictures are always feel good in a sense or enjoyable/pretty to look at, so I think The Revenant is the favorite here.
2191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: January 20, 2016, 04:00:43 PM
Depends on the religion of course, but an atheist religion (or philosophy for many) like Buddhism condemns it. Of course it's not a sin and it's not punished by any law but the reason behind it is like intoxication with alcohol or drugs it makes you take wrong decisions or at least expose you to make them. So based on that, it should be avoided, but if you do it just be mindful. I can see the reasoning really, even as a casual gambler myself I can see the minute I win or lose I want more, I want to get back what I lost or I want to continue winning, you become possesed to a certain extent even for people which doesn't have any addictions, so it's a very powerful and dangerous activity. Of course, one should gamble just to have fun, exactly the same advise goes for drinking. The minute you cross the line you are in trouble.
2192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any new gambling site idea ? on: January 20, 2016, 03:47:06 PM
I had and idea and made a thread about it. Basically it is FanDuel or DraftKings but with Bitcoin. So basically a daily fantasy league that you mimics those giants. The twist and very important factor would be that as it's daily, you don't need an account. I see so many gambling sites requiring registration and this is exactly why Bitcoin exists, to avoid that and just quickly gamble or buy something without losing time creating accounts or giving up information.
2193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 20, 2016, 03:17:01 PM
Not so sure about the Warriors Bulls game being over, the last one was not a shootout and I remember a previous one with a very low scoring, so for me if Chicago brings the D it will be a clash between two of the best defenses in the league with players like Green and Butler.
2194  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: DirectBet Basketball Prediction Game *** Win Free Bets ! *** Free to Enter ! on: January 19, 2016, 11:13:11 PM
I think it's too difficult to predict a basketball compared to other sports like Football (either American or Soccer), Hockey, etc. Maybe Directbet should establish a margin? Like 5-+ points (plus getting the winner of course).

Think this as a lottery ticket, but for free

Milwaukee 81 @ Miami 97

Hehe, I know, I was just saying that it's very hard to actually predict the correct score, the prize could potentially reach thousands of dollars before someone gets it right again.

I also suggest Directbet for live sports, their support is great and it's very fast and easy to use without registration. And I have to mention LuckyBTC Casino which is in my signature, a great new one with fun games and very enticing bonuses & referrals. Check it out!
2198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 19, 2016, 04:08:00 PM

Moneyline:
Oklahoma City Thunders @ Denver Nuggets = Denver Nuggets @ 4.1 (I like a risky one. The odds are good for Denver)

That's a fearless and great pick harizen, there's usually a lot of good picks here but many avoid to look for the actual risky ones that can pay and this is one of the best I've seen recently. The Nuggets are playing great although OKC won't be easy to beat.
2199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins - which do you like? on: January 18, 2016, 10:49:07 PM
For me all altcoins are sort of doomed and completely exposed to price manipulation, so I really have a grim view of the scene. Plus 99% of them are just plain scamcoins.

With that being I currently hold Digibyte, for me it's the only one that I can trust into being a serious long term project with a great community (it was its 2 year anniversary just some days ago).
