2281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why arnt we seeing more bitcoin ATM popping up? on: January 09, 2016, 02:28:35 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong but what is the purpose of these ATMs besides the novelty? Doesn't something like the Xapo debit card acts as a bridge already? I know many don't like how it works compared to other wallets but if we want mainstream adoption more user friendly systems and sites like this need to emerge.
2282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Inexpensive established exchange to buy bitcoins? on: January 09, 2016, 02:19:18 PM
Well it's a exchange service that never comes up in these type of threads but I just thought about it and I think you can do that with Xapo. Maybe someone can correct me if that's correct alternative? I know you can trade but you can definitely buy BTC there, not sure about the fees though.
2283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just created a bitcoin blog on: January 09, 2016, 02:15:29 PM
Many people here are talking about marketing, ad placements, referrals, etc. The only thing you need to focus on if you have a site or blog is creating great content, the rest will come. No amount of marketing will bring you visitors if the content is poor. Having a successful site is very difficult, maybe much more so than a regular business. You need skill, talent or both.
2284  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your investment portfolio ? on: January 09, 2016, 02:12:13 PM
I'm a self taught investor, currently I'm having 64.47% of money invested in Bitcoins(Buy & Hold), and about 35.53% are (Stocks, ETFs)
I'm currently 20yo doesn't need to generate income(yet) to support family, but I'm using investing as an approach to fund my further studies.

Since I'm young, and no finance pressure, my portfolio are more aggressive than conservative, I'm wanting a 20% growth per year.

Right now the halving is coming, as a bitcoin investor, I believed that the value of bitcoins will surely goes up and shine in this year or next year.

Should I move another 15% from my (stocks, etfs) into btc ? Considering they might not perform well in this year..

Nice to see young guys thinking ahead and learning how to invest. Many stocks are plummeting right now so if you do your research you should find some bargains. Other than that I think for people like us, Bitcoin is the best investments one can made right now. Considering that you don't mind the risk associated then I think it's a good idea.
2285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptsy Has Moved Out of Their Building Unannounced, Nowhere to be Found? on: January 09, 2016, 02:06:34 PM
Is it good news or bad news

Cryptsy has to go, that's the good news, the rest is all bad and another stain on Bitcoin since if this is actually confirmed you can already read the headlines. No wonder many people think of Bitcoin as a scam or extremely risky business. And to be honest it's understandable, what guarantees do we have that Poloniex or another exchange won't end up doing the same?
2286  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Favorite Faucet on: January 09, 2016, 04:36:08 AM
Of course moonbit.co.in has a lot of fans including myself. I don't remember the name but I remember abusing one where you must play a youtube ad video in order to claim, I know there are a lot with the same functionality but this one paid like crazy and never ran out that is if you had the patience to claim every 15 minutes.

Faucets are a waste of time though but a great wait to start earning your first bits.
2287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 09, 2016, 04:22:55 AM
Damn AD, he's a very soft player, come on! The Cavs cruised past the Wolves so the Over 195.5 was a easy as pie but sadly the Pelicans didn't came through for me in my parlay. Oh well, at least it was close.
2288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 08, 2016, 08:52:16 PM
Getting on Indy -2 and TOR -2

gl everybody

I think New Orleans will surprise today. Betting on Indiana is too public today (83% of the bets are on indiana). Moreover, the line is to suspicious here. Only +2 to New Orleans? It should be at least 6-8.  I dont buy it.
Putting a small bet on New Orleans +2 today.

More picks:
NY knicks +14.5 @ 1.93
Memphis -6 @ 1.95
Washington +2 @ 1.93

Agree, I've placed a parlay with New Orleans and Cleveland @ Minnesota Over 195.5pts for today. A little risky but worth it in my opinion!
2289  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: cheap electricity so what now? on: January 08, 2016, 08:28:30 PM
You should definitely take advantage of that, just get an old miner and you are all set, you won't be making much of course but it would be free and if you have faith in Bitcoin it could be much more valuable in a couple of years, twice or more.

You can also try mining another coin that gives you more bang for your buck: https://www.whattomine.com

2290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 06:19:12 PM
Well that actually sounds very interesting, I haven't even considered that. Many indie developers will most likely push Bitcoin as a method of payment. So maybe it could start a small integration and then become the standard. I agree Facebook won't even consider go into full BTC integration mode from the start. I don't think they will consider creating a token either, but we have to see how this evolve.

VR can be a new take like Second Life was, remember how that worked, you had Lindens as currency, you could buy properties, etc. So if VR really take off the possibilities are endless.
2291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 05:15:57 PM
IMO It's not so important that BTCBTCBTC be used the same way as Google Wallet, Paypal, or Apple Pay, to purchase stuff or to spend in the VR world. It needs to take advantage of it's value-transfer system across the globe. I would like to see it replace wire-transfers, which are costly and slow, used for remittances across borders not serviced by traditional institutions, or even become the running protocol within the Internet-of-Things.

Wire transfers are definitely another niche that Bitcoin entrepreneurs should take on and thrive. Price volatility is still a huge issue and another barrier is that wire transfers are generally used by common non tech savvy persons. However having offices like Western Union or even just ATMs that use Bitcoin as bridge for fiat transactions would be perfect. Fees would be high to cover the risk I guess...so you basically have Bitcoin Union...
2292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 08, 2016, 04:22:24 PM
My picks for today would be:

Cleveland @ Minnesota - Over 195.5pts @ 1.92
Indiana @ New Orleans - New Orleans @ 1.99

Reasons are very simple, Cavs are on fire but they are not playing too much on defense right now. Indiana has been underwhelming lately in my opinion and doesn't do very good in away games, 1.99 are nice odds.
2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 04:14:57 PM
I think Facebook will try to enter the same market as Apple and Google with the Oculus Rift and start developing an OS if it really take off. If it does, then Apple and Google will soon follow after that. It just depends on how much VR develops, for buying apps and music, CCs did the job, but maybe in a new virtual world a digital currency or token is actually needed.
2294  Other / Off-topic / Re: How many left-handed in forum ? on: January 08, 2016, 03:41:06 PM
Number 16 here!
2295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best buy right now is not Bitcoin, it is ALTCOINS on: January 08, 2016, 03:15:45 PM
Don't go into the altmarket if you don't know what you are getting into. Cryptotrading has completely different rules and as some of you said, you will completely exposed to manipulators. I think it's safe to assume that this happens in Bitcoin too (hell it happens in the stock market) but we can all agree that the consequences are much smaller, it takes a lot of money to actually manipulate BTC's price.
2296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 03:11:33 PM
I don't think VR is on its initial years as much as you do, if they work and people adopt the devices as they did with tablets and smartphones, then the business will skyrocket in less than a year if there is such demand. However I think if that happens, Google and Apple systems will just translate the same business model there.
2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can Bitcoin Capitalize on the 2016 VR Hype? on: January 08, 2016, 02:31:18 PM
I've always said that Bitcoin needs to find a niche and become a beacon or standard method of payment in a particular area. That's the only way it could create actual mainstream demand and stop being just a commodity or a trading asset.

Why Bitcoin Should Catch the Virtual Reality Gaming Wave

The Bitcoin community has been wishing for a way to buy games with bitcoin for a while, and, a few companies have obliged. Green Man Gaming was one of the first online game retailers to accept bitcoin, and the popular G2A marketplace started accepting bitcoin in late 2015.

However, judging by the initial hype surrounding VR, working bitcoin into VR gaming would make a much bigger splash than online retailers accepting the digital currency. Combining two cutting edge technologies into one Space Age gaming ecosystem is the stuff that sci-fi dreams are made of. More importantly for us, though, catching the VR wave would bring much more attention to Bitcoin, possibly sparking a large growth in users.

2298  Economy / Speculation / Re: The current bitcoin price increase won't be a pump and dump. Do you agree? on: January 08, 2016, 05:16:34 AM
Im really not sure about this pump, I understand that it could be influenced by the stock market falling and China but with Bitcoin one can never know for sure if there are some manipulators behind this, it's just too early. If I had to place a bet I would go with the first option since it seems rather natural compared to recent ones.
2299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a way to avoid corruption on: January 08, 2016, 01:32:04 AM
Sure, but how could bitcoin bring transparency to political campaigns?

Can you share the link of the TED talk? Thanks.

It's in spanish and it's mostly an introduction to Bitcoin, he just mentions the idea but doesn't go too deep (well the title is actually "Bitcoin and its threat to corrupt governments").

Quick bucks right now, starting in ~5 minutes.
Atlanta Hawks @ Philadelphia 76ers
1st Quarter - Moneyline: Atlanta @ 1.38

Wow that's a great pick, sadly I missed it, let's see how it turns out.
