2201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: January 18, 2016, 07:10:30 PM
You still think it's better to send $450 one day and receive $370 the next one? What kind of company will afford to have those risk and volatility. No sane person will accept a transfer in Bitcoin, plus they won't be able to cash it anywhere, that's why Western Union is successful. I don't understand how this thread keeps going and going, there's no real research done. Go and open your own Bitcoin transfer company and see if you can keep up with 0 fees.
2202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: January 18, 2016, 06:54:45 PM
It is really a very interesting question because I'm not sure what it provokes in the brain that it is so addicting. Certain amount of risk I guess it should be rewarded by the brain to conquer certain situations but it's like the brain actually becomes drunk and make you do very bad decisions. Of course not everybody experience it the same way. I've read self made millionaires are extremely prone to losing a good (if not all) share of their fortune.
2203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your favorite type of gambling? on: January 18, 2016, 06:51:27 PM
Casino games that I've always liked are Poker, Roulette and Blackjack, you can't go wrong playing those type of games, it's not about the money, it's just having fun. I also like I said love to play sports if I see some good odds in a certain match.
2204  Economy / Gambling / FanDuel/DrafKings Bitcoin site with no registration required on: January 18, 2016, 06:37:49 PM
What do you guys think of having a daily fantasy league site that only accepts BTC and maybe other altcoins too. Will you use it? I know there are a couple of options out there but there are not very popular and they require registration. I think having a quick deposit option with no questions asked is a major pull for many dice and similar sites and would work perfectly for this casual type of games.
2205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 18, 2016, 04:21:45 PM
Plenty of options for today, I think some nice picks would be:

New Orleans @ Memphis - Under 196.5pts @ 1.75
Houston @ LA Clippers - LA Clippers @ 1.4

I really don't know about Golden State @ Cleveland, I would say the Cavs will win this one but it can go either way, I would avoid. No U/O options from Directbet yet.
2206  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: January 17, 2016, 10:56:35 PM
Fargo Season 2 was awesome, you can check it out even if you didn't watch Season 1, its an anthology.
2207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 17, 2016, 10:46:08 PM
Of course there's always a risk, but here I think its too much compared to the reward. Those odds below to a Cavs, Spurs or GSW playing at home against Orlando or Utah.
2208  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will be stable in 2020 on: January 17, 2016, 10:36:31 PM
It can also become the first currency to conquer space if we are throwing predictions left and right. Price volatility is not the only barrier for adoption. Bitcoin has to solve its user friendliness if that's a word or concept. Unless people to adopt it massively in the next years I don't think it can't survive.
2209  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 17, 2016, 10:33:37 PM
I'm sorry but both OKC and HOU games carry a tremendous risks if you take into account such low odds. Especially the Rockets. The thunder could pull away from Miami with more ease at home but still, the Heat have what it takes to win even without Wade (not sure if he will be playing).
2210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoins price is rising again on: January 17, 2016, 08:20:11 PM
I'm not sure we are past the muddy waters but I can definitely feel we have strong support at $370-380 so if this can hold up for the next days people will most likely want to get in before it goes up to $400. The way the price spiraled down in just a matter of hours was crazy indeed, we could've been at sub $300 or even more.
2211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any advantages from gambling? on: January 17, 2016, 06:22:03 PM
The only advantage you will get from gambling is having a good time and be entertained for the time you spent playing. So I suggest you pick a game you like, could be Poker, Slots or anything you HAVE FUN with, relax and enjoy it. If you think of gambling as an investment or job you are mistaken, it is not. The casino will always win if you keep going at it, so just play casually, spend what you can afford to lose and you'll be alright (consider your money gone the minute you decide to gamble it).
2212  Economy / Speculation / Re: I could see BTC going down to the lower 300's by the time of the halving on: January 17, 2016, 06:10:36 PM
The storm hasn't pass yet so it's definitely a possibility. In my personal opinion I don't think we will go below $350, the panic seems to have subsided already, if we can get past this week all will be forgotten the minute the next mini pump starts and people will want to get all the BTC they can get at below $400.
2213  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go to US$800+ on: January 17, 2016, 04:33:46 PM
Yes it all was just bad timing, Hearn's declaration, Cryptsy, China market. Also the mainstream press has a knack to go for bad bitcoins news all the time. To the average consumer, Bitcoin is nothing more than a refuge for illegal activities, hackers and scammers and you can't blame them because we had a lot of those characters in the press lately.

So nobody asks about his technical specs? I'm no IT support but that's the first thing we should be doing I think. It's most likely like others have said that you've installed spyware/malware. This is usually downloaded from pirate download sites, porn sites, etc. Please keep us posted.
2215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go to US$800+ on: January 16, 2016, 10:28:47 PM
Many people got into Bitcoin in recent weeks as it closed the year with profits and expected the halving will push the price even higher. Sadly they are now in this situation and are actually learning about one of Bitcoin bigger barriers in terms of adoption, price volatility.

I'm sure if they are willing to hold they will get profits by the end of the year, we should close at around $500-600, but not without some turbulence hehe.
2216  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How Cryptsy can save itself on: January 16, 2016, 09:07:03 PM
Well I didn't lose any money there as I've never used the exchange but after reading their declaration I must say that if it's true then it really must've sucked for them. I don't agree on how the covered it all for more than an year but really, a theft of those proportions will sink any ship. Honesty would be better from an ethical point but perhaps they really tried to keep the ship from sinking until the end. I don't know, maybe I'm too naive.
2217  Economy / Gambling / Re: Dice gambling method #1 - Use wisely. on: January 16, 2016, 08:17:08 PM
There are ''real methods'' that work better than others and can even increase your odds but just a little, Dooglus used an example:

''For an example of a better strategy, try:

  bet 0.5 at 33%
if you win, you get 99/33 = 3x, so you get 1.5 back, a profit of 1 - you've doubled your money

if you lose, bet the other 0.5 at 24.75%
if you win, you get 99/24.75 = 4x, so you get 2 back - you've doubled your money

the only way it goes wrong is if you lose both the 33% and the 24.75% - the chance of that is (1-0.33) * (1-0.2475) = 0.504175
  so the chance of success is 1 - 0.504175 = 0.495825 = 49.5825% - a fraction higher than 49.5''

As you can see, you are literally increasing your odds to 49.58 instead of 49.5 but of course that's still not enough to win long term but definitely better long term than this strategy.

I usually implement a similar strategy but it all comes down to your luck that day really. Long term based on your numbers and Martingale system you will ALWAYS lose to the house edge. So the key here is betting once in a while, try to not be greedy, just bet for entertainment and consider your money gone the minute you decide to bet. You know...just for fun. You can't beat the casinos.
2218  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unique Gambling Game on: January 16, 2016, 08:04:28 PM
Lol, well certainly what do you have? Money? that's a start, I mean plenty of it. I had an idea (not really unique but unique in Bitcoin as far as I'm aware) and I'm a graphic designer but I'm no developer and I have no money to invest so I'm screwed. PM if you are interested and if you are interested in it we can maybe do a partnership.
2219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't understand what Mike Hearns is droning on about? on: January 16, 2016, 07:57:48 PM
The only thing I can comment on (nothing technical) is that for me he is right so far, it is a failed experiment. Bitcoin is a complete hassle to adopt if that was the original intention. Decimals, wallets, authorization keys, address as long as a line of code, qr codes, brain wallets, paper wallets. Come on, no average person will use that, even relative tech savvy ones will have problems keeping up. It's just a complete hassle and so far it's not close to overcome that barrier.

Now don't get me wrong, it's a completely unique technology, as innovative as the internet was in the 90s, so there's plenty of time ahead for Bitcoin to actually evolve. However many feel that it will die and something else will replace it unless it adapts quickly, that's what always happens.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 16, 2016, 06:37:06 PM
Sacramento @ LA Clippers - LA Clippers @ 1.34 should be a very safe pick for today's game, they are rolling and although it won't be a blowout by any means I don't think they will have any problems with the Kings.

If you're feeling a little more confident, I think Golden State @ Detroit - Over 223.5pts @ 2.46 gives nice odds, that game has a chance to be a shootout and Jackson vs Curry's duel should be interesting to see.

Agree with both of your picks.

Kings @ Clips really a safe bet for moneyline. Are there no other option for this game? Can't check Directbet today now. It's quiet reasonable to have a place in Under 200 points as Kings average can consider as low even with any opponent team.

For GSW and Pistons, yes I see high scoring here and not just shootout competition, you will see some boards fight here in the paint too.

Yes definitely, I foresee and intense match with plenty of scoring, maybe even an overtime. Nope, no other options from Directbet so far for Sacramento @ LA Clippers, under 200pts would be a great option I agree.
