2381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Circle Jerking Award for 2015 on: January 02, 2016, 11:05:24 PM
A thread like this shouldn't exist because year after year should be awarded to Monero fanboys. They try so hard to sell that as if was the second coming of Christ or Darth Vader. Not to mention that I used to hold the coin and they don't even have a proper wallet, glad I got out. Plus there's a huge project with a very similar name in the same industry basically, Moneero.
2382  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Ayuda con "trading" usando BTCs on: January 02, 2016, 10:58:41 PM
2383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone betting on the American election? on: January 02, 2016, 10:56:44 PM
Clinton will win, but odds are not very enticing for me, plus I don't particularly like to bet on things that run a lot of time, like championships/titles or similar, there's just too many variables involved down the line.
2384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 02, 2016, 06:08:19 PM
Next up games, Cleveland vs ORL should be an easy pick, lets just hope the CAVs don't blow up the game like vs POR. Seriously, I still think that game was a ruse.

GSW vs Denver should be a game to watch. I'd like to take a bet on the Warriors but my gut tells me the nuggets will come for a surprise.

GSW will have Curry back most likely, this doesn't guarantee anything but I don't think they will lose at home today. As for Cleveland, they will most definitely beat the Magic @ The Q but an interesting bet is OVER 194.5 pts. I think the odds were around 2.2 for that one...

It looks fine to me right now, did you do any recent changes from the first original post?
2386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small News From China on: January 02, 2016, 05:11:48 PM
Unless there is someone here who've worked or lived in China I don't think we don't know just how Bitcoin is a risk or something useful. Hopefully Uphold can work and start introducing BTC to more chinese people but I doubt the government will make that easy.
2387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: January 02, 2016, 04:43:02 AM
Exactly, plus consider your money gone the minute you bet it. I'm a very casual gambler but that's my advise, have some fun and "pay" for entertainment. You may even win some of the time!
2388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Will Not Survive", says Jamie Dimon on: January 02, 2016, 04:39:03 AM
I understand the concept he's trying to explain but maybe un 10-15 years governments would be much more tolerant of new technologies. One could've said the same thing about the internet in the 90s and governments for the most part couldn't control it because unless one lives in a dictatorship, governments are comprised of people.
2389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should i buy my first whole bitcoin on: January 02, 2016, 04:33:58 AM
Not sure if it's the best of times to buy but if you wait you may never see this price again. Definitely go for it if drops below $400 in the next weeks (I doubt it).
2390  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much bitcoins do you put on an exchange at any one time? on: January 01, 2016, 11:28:18 PM
I've really prefer to use Shapeshift for many of small transactions than to trust an account with my money and details. I know it's more expensive, but it's quick and on the fly. So to answer your question, it's 0 since the amount is never actually deposited in any exchange.
I use them too because it is accountless for any transaction/exchange with a lot of available alternative cryptos and the wait time is instantaneously.
Pretty amazing system if you ask me. I am a happy customer with them  Smiley

Exactly, I don't really understand how many prefer to leave huge amounts of BTC in exchanges. I mean I understand you set a price and forget about it (either for buying or selling) but you are definitely at risk. Poloniex seems the best option from what I've heard. Does anybody knows exactly HOW much expensive Shapeshift is compared to other exchanges? I know how it works, it takes the value from other exchanges and takes a cut, but I've always wondered how much is the price difference between using Poloniex for example or Shapeshift.
2391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 01, 2016, 11:23:36 PM
I like these spread picks for today:

Wizards -1

Heat -3.5

Hornets +7

Knicks +7

Your spread picks look very appealing I might give them a try even if it's a long time I don't bet on NBA. Please, can you tell which sportsbook are you using?

I strongly recommend Directbet, I've used a lot and I've never had any problems with them, the support is fast too. The site design and UI is a little dated but it works.
2392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: January 01, 2016, 06:39:51 PM
Doge may have promoted bitcoin a bit as a meme(being a crypto-currency), other than that I don't think LTC or any other shitcoins actually influence bitcoin in any(positive) way.

I agree. I guess altcoins are inevitable and could be needed as a viable alternative, but they are actually not needed at all, it's just all BS, a bunch of nerds coming up with slightly different and "better" ways of doing things that no one cares about. Hell, people don't really need or use Bitcoin itself so go figure.

The only altcoin I was aware of before I got into Bitcoin was Litecoin, Doge was also in my radar but I couldn't really explain or care about what they were, just digital money or tokens you could exchange.

2394  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Cryptsy about to fold over??? on: January 01, 2016, 06:31:46 PM
I think since I signed up on this forum some months ago all I've ever read about Cryptsy is completely negative and scam related. I've never tried their service of course and I'm amazed how they are still functioning taken into consideration the amount of negative attention and publicity.
2395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving already 100% priced in! Would you buy or sell now? on: January 01, 2016, 06:05:16 PM
I think that if all remains the same, the price SHOULD go up, that's a fact since mining won't be as profitable therefore less BTC will be available every day that passes. However in these types of periods is where we will see if Bitcoin has actual demand and if a price of close to $1000 or more would be viable and not ridiculous. If it is, then the sky is the limit since there's a fixed amount of BTC so all our dreams will come true, value will continue to rise. The problem I see is that Bitcoin it is still just and investment, no common person needs it for anything and it's still far too complicated to be adopted by common folks, so I don't think demand will be huge after the halving if Bitcoin development can't evolve.
2396  Economy / Digital goods / Re: One of the first 500 BitcoinTalk account's created for sale on: January 01, 2016, 05:53:43 PM
willing to buy one maybe just for 0.02 btc

Current bid is .30, I am only offering one account.
really, I wonder why anyone would bid 0.30BTC on a newbie account without any potential activity, doesn't make sense, its a good price you must sell it to bidder without having any second thought

no one will offer even 0.03 for this account, what makes it special? just its registration date that is not worth anything

Exactly, what's the point really to sell a "vintage" account? No one answered my question, what's the value of an old account with no potencial activity? Maybe I'm missing something here or perhaps the forum will give some kind of bonus in the future for "founding" members?
2397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2015-16 Regular Season Discussion on: January 01, 2016, 05:51:44 PM
Chicago Bulls -6 looking attractive for betting with impressive odds @1.774 because it has very good chance to beat New York Knicks by huge margin so that i have my bet on this handicap.

Interesting, I don't like how they play and they are always inconsistent but I think they will handle the Knicks just fine today so I agree it's a safe bet. I will sit out today since no particular game entices me. The Warriors won me some money yesterday already so I should not become too greedy hehe.
2398  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Gambling, Money is not everything on: January 01, 2016, 05:52:58 AM
I get what you're saying. Money shouldn't be everything in gambling because you can lose your cool very easy. To me it's all about having fun and get entertained for a while, I'm a casual gambler so I don't take it seriously at all. And if you follow my advise you should also consider your money already gone before you decide to bet it. If you adhere to these rules you will always have fun and some days you may even win some money!
2399  Economy / Speculation / Re: Pump + Dump on: January 01, 2016, 05:49:01 AM
Bitcoin market it's still vulnerable to p&d schemes, of course manipulators will need deep pockets bit it's definitely possible and it still happens so your theory it's not crazy. Just think about how easy it is to manipulate the altcoin market, that's a smaller scale but it's the same game.
2400  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Looking to sell a few domains. on: January 01, 2016, 04:10:30 AM
Well I was actually thinking about just normal domain price really but I understand if that's not what you are looking for, sorry if I'm being rude.

That is not being rude, that is being cheap :-P, but yea I won't sell it that low sorry.

Lol hehe, well I will think about it tomorrow, I'm not really in the best state right now. I understand though and that address does have some value, but sometimes it's hard to find a buyer.
