1461  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can gambling and crypto trading be considered as skills with $10k gain a month? on: July 11, 2023, 12:00:53 PM
The real skill is not about 10k gain a month, but consistent gains over a very long period, preferably in extreme bull period, and extreme bear period.

I normally say all trading is gambling and all traders gamble, but if you can show me just one guy who trades transparently and shows us every single trade he makes live, and without hiding, and makes $10k a month.

I'll be the first guy in line to say he's a genius. That's not even skill anymore, just genius!!
1462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 11, 2023, 10:51:13 AM
We also saw GG lose some series during the group stage of Dreamleague but after the group stage, they showed those losses didn't matter and took down every team they met. I'll only start to believe once BetBoom or any other team can send GG down to the lower bracket.

A couple of teams are already making their roster changes, Entity picking up Gabbi as their new offlaner and Kaka going to Aster after Boboka stepped down from the team.

From now on I only take Gaimin Gladiators. I don't know anything about this esports thing but if I learned anything new from the past few tournaments, take on GG on the final is the best solution.

Group stage leaders seem to be the most difficult to predict though right? Betboom had an awesome round in Dreamleague but in the end failed. Does GG do this on purpose?

From H2H they have 50:50 chances, but Djokovic is still better than Alcaraz. Based on their head-to-head record, Alcaraz is a bit difficult to win, need more sets to beat Djokovic. But Djokovic won very easily with a large set difference. Djokovic is a good choice but Alcaraz can surprise us.
Lets not get so far ahead because Djokovic first needs to beat Rublev that is in great form and last year he lost from him at home, than maybe Sinner.
Alcaraz needs to beat Rune and than probably Medvedev, but things in tennis are not always going like we imagine them Smiley
There is a big value for betting on Alcaraz as underdog, but I think live betting is best when betting on tennis matches.

But we can get far ahead. Djokovic is playing at peak, and I know I only watched some moments from TV, but his highlight reels is way way more longer and feary than even Alcaraz. I like Alcaraz running around a lot and going to net a lot but athleticism is nice, power, technique and patience is even better and Djokovic has that.

That point about value on Alcaraz is correct however, with boost is 4.3x, very very good.
1464  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: July 11, 2023, 06:54:07 AM
Of course holding could be better, because holding allows us to profit. For example if you are holding bitcoins it can make you rich. Because long-term holdings in Bitcoins have high profit potential. As a result of holding we can gain a lot. You hold Bitcoin for the long term. Because this holding will give you much higher return anytime.

I would say only for Bitcoin, and only for a minimum period of 4 years (or at least in between 2 halving cycles). ATHs happen in between cycles, so you need to hold for at least that long.

Holding and selling on the crash after ATH is what happens to a lot of people too, so you might even say the only true strategy is to hold across THREE ATHs Smiley

Lando, Lando, Lando, What did I say about Lando Norris for me he is full of more surprises than Oscar Piastri, but both McLaren had a great performance in this British GP, and just like you I truly enjoy the race so much and we are now seeing who really was the best driver in the year 2023, for me even though he got the RB19 hid driving skill is pretty much superb, while McLaren upgrades have put them in the edge against Verstappen, for me there is no Red Bull anymore there is only Verstappen the driver  skill is really what is keeping the Dutch driver on the top, while the machine in on the 6th place on Sergio Perez, and due to the upgrades of the other teams they already making a progress and defeating the machine of Red Bull, but they can not defeat the driving skill of Max Verstappen, for me if Verstappen's going to drive other machines then let's see if he's going to still win the race, because if he did then it is proven that all other racers can not defeat Max Verstappen, a genuis is on display with his craft,

Have to say that's one of the biggest assessments that I didn't even take in until it actually was bruoght up here. This tells me to listen more and more to gut feelings that home crowd support is really important in F1. The only thing is I got burned after Monaco and thought it wasn't going to be the British day, and went to put Hamilton in 4th instead of podium. Big moment also for Stroll who completely missed out I think he has to assess his pace and competitiveness now.

Verstappen is a genius, are we all willing to accept this now Smiley
1466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: A safe haven in times of economic recession? on: July 10, 2023, 08:57:40 AM
I agree it's a "Safe haven" for a long period of time. Compared to currencies like my own and all the friends I know who struggle every day with daily expenses rising and costs of everything going up while salary remains the same and savings interest isn't matching inflation.

But BTC vs USD ever since the economic recession has been terrible, USD hit all time highs against so many currencies while BTC is still less than 50% of USD ATH. So what's this talk about safe haven? Why can't Bitcoin just be a normal long-term savings 10-year value going up deal?
1467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: July 10, 2023, 07:08:28 AM
If he earns profit from it, then he is an investor since anything that you put money on and expect a return on is already an investment, but if he just uses it like we use cash, receives it, and spends it, then he is a user of Bitcoin since he saw that Bitcoin is a good, anonymous, fast transaction, and probably this is the payment method that his merchant is asking for, which is why he is using it. It is not only holding Bitcoin; there are a lot of types of investors in Bitcoin: traders, staking, holders, and others who accept it as a payment method and hold it for a long time for profit.

Man sometimes I don't blame governments for trying to crack down, when all you guys seem to just love complicating things.

When you earn profit from something, it means you sold something for more than what you bought it for. That is called capital gains. It can be shares, stocks, coins, even a house.

It has nothing on its own to do with investment, investment is to put in effort or money in the hopes of getting profit. Hopes, not guarantee.

You can have losses and it's still an investment.

Cro2 couple always on trips, sounds like fun or they have very very understanding wives.

Sheet looks good for me, of course I won't complain if I get a win lol. Tour de France favorites didn't let us down, both of them were 1st and 2nd. I don't understand the format at all however. Seems like they didn't actually win most of the races but they just care about total time.

Now time to look forward to Cup!
1469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My Trading Tools (120% APY) on: July 09, 2023, 11:13:16 AM
Trust me, none of those things will contribute a single thing to newbie learning if that's really your point.

Instead, share your pure history of trading. The signals you used to trigger those trades, and to end them. And a synopsis of why.

No trader who ever claims any kind of crazy profit ever shows this, because none of them are telling the truth.

Prove me wrong.
1470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: July 09, 2023, 10:06:28 AM
Hamilton not even close to the front, can't believe I thought he would do well, but who knows, the others in front can mess up and push him up a little.

I remember someone talking about Piastri last race and he starts in 3rd place. Maybe this time? Wink

So some news if anyone likes Ricciardo, he's back for British GP already Smiley Reserve of course so testing, for another old name back Smiley

And at the same time 2024 schedule is announced. More sustainable so more races in a single region hence starting at Bahrain and ending at Abu Dhabi. GREAT idea thinking of the logistics problems this season!!

If Sergio Perez keeps on doing this qualifying fiasco and right now he isn't doing fine in the British tracks so far there is no improvement if he doesn't land the podium for the Race then maybe Ricciardo could change Sergio Perez for good, but let's see if the management could throw Sergio Perez away, and if Daniel Ricciardo had a decent performance than him,

That would be one of the best comeback stories for F1, but I don't think it would happen, it would cause great embarassment for both driver and the team if they did that. Let's see though Wink

notblox1 It was a great move to not back my favorite team Spain, seems like we all missed a great game with drama and red cards, only 1 goal, but I am glad I chose England and got my 1 point advantage on you  Grin

Now the only thing I will also follow very closely is DOTA and Liquidpedia is not really helping as they make playoff information extra hard to understand to me anyway.

But all we need to know is the Grand Final is now confirmed with Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators. You know what? Stick with these 2 teams all the time and all is great lol

And no I agree with you, it is lottery. I researched DOTA and Tour de france and even tennis, but if I had followed my guts I would get more tennis points, but I would lose DOTA because I would not have picked Liquid who had bad recent form.

Checking back in here on one of my oldest haunts in casino for cryptos Wink Still go every day on the site actually, still even have some worthless bankroll in the investment but that's up and down always but I don't have anymore doge or BTC like in the old days so don't know if the rest are actually still playing there a lot. How's it going for you guys?

Noticed that it's getting harder to do challenges (keno is the toughest) but as long as payouts keep happening I'm cool Wink

Chat's still as crazy as ever lol

I really hope Team Liquid will have a very good run on lower bracket to meet GG on the finals to gain some extra points. Who’s with me on riding Team Liquid matches since they came down on LB?
I'm with you, I didn't know they'd end up on LB Sad

Again this DOTA talk guys please, dont you have separate topic for that? Or even better separate Dotatalk forum?  Wink
It is all Trofo fault, and I blame him for my bad start in this round with zero correct answers until now  Cry
There is still time to turn result around like last time, but slaman29 already have a nice lead.

Very small lead notblox and if I'm not mistaken thanks to Spain (I hate them even though I love them lol) I only have 1 point lead, and can you imagine, just scoring 2 or 1 points is the only achievement most of us can afford this round.

You have to be extra respectful of guys who have 3 or 4 points already in a super tough round.
1474  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: July 08, 2023, 10:58:18 AM
Nice joke.. Grin  Wink Yes. BTC is very different from the others. whatever that is. I myself am one of the youngest BTC lovers who likes to see this technology will be very useful in the future. Yes. BTC will answer it for all of us.

Glad you enjoyed the joke Wink I find that too many people complain about Bitcoin and make all kinds of "danger assessments" it's what I call to my friends complaining about the hole that you are not even going to jump inside.

I don't think Bitcoin answers everything for us but that was never what it was supposed to be. Like any tool and invention it was supposed to solve a problem, and it solves a lot of problems for me Smiley
1475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found my Bitcoin books from 2016 on: July 08, 2023, 08:29:50 AM
I know I should also be having good nostalgia from those days, although my days were really in 2017, but they were when I was so busy researching and supporting so many projects. Investing my own money and really "following the dream". Crash hurt me so bad though that I almost left, especially because I used so much of my BTC to "diversify" into alts.

Lessons were so learned that year lol.

I see that the majority of people answered as "Mercedes" to the 9th question. This made me really surprised because Ferrari have brought serious upgrades to the car. I thought that they would be potentially ahead of Mercedes on paper.

Me too, I thought everyone would go for Ferrari actually, and thought maybe I would be a smart guy to pick Mercedes, but mainly because I think Hamilton would have an advantage in this track, I always feel like locals get such a big boost. Guess a lot of others thought the same Wink

@Jinetics1111 looks like we have something to fight for next round!

Someone tell me about Tour de France how to see? They have GRAND standings and also winner of each race. Is it points system for wins or just total time taken?

Didn't realize this until now, very sad, and a constant reminder how dangerous this sport can be and the risks drivers/racers take to give us entertainment Sad

It was so sudden and at only 18 years old on the Belgium track, I think that Corner was what they call Eau Rouge correct me if I am wrong, and this is a famous track where if a driver is new in driving towards it you can have an uneasy feeling on it,

No idea about the corners or names, but I would feel like if those corners are already identified as dangerous and new drivers don't like it, shouldn't they do something about it? I mean, I love to watch exciting turns we all do but no excitement is worth the safety risk.
1478  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: July 06, 2023, 08:32:15 AM
To me, bitcoin can be trusted. There are several factors why I have confidence in Bitcoin due to its proven level of stability, such as a strong history of performance, wide adoption by large companies, decentralized blockchain technology, and set supply limits.

Geez, if stability, strong history, wide adoption are the main components that make you trust Bitcoin, then you probably want to trust gold and US dollars even much much more.

And when fiat currencies implement blockchain for CBDC on blockchain with supply limits, you would trust them even more lol

Bitcoin is trustless, which makes it the most trustworthy. That's the whole point right?
1479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Granted 3 Money Transmitter Licenses, Possible Bitcoin Integration? on: July 06, 2023, 05:58:41 AM
Hmm. I honestly don't get why this is good news.

Reddit doesn't have a money transmitter license does it, and they can still have people send Reddit coins to each other, just not USD. Why would Twitter have needed to help people send Bitcoin when they can do so to each other ANYWAY.

Tip bots already happened, nobody needed transmitter license for that.

It just needs to accept Bitcoin just like any other site that accepts Bitcoin, that's what helps adoption. I don't get why this is exciting news. Sorry but we don't have to add Bitcoin angle to everything.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: July 05, 2023, 11:24:20 AM
So I'm a bit of a happy dog because of the penalties in last race, but I'm sure everything evens out in other tracks so I won't celebrate so soon just wondering how long more my pool position can last lol

Any tips for British track? Is it dumb to take Hamilton win? Or just go safe for podium?

Some very tragic news they mentioned just now while watching the live coverage before the race.
Dilano van 't Hoff in MP motorsport lost his life in an accident on the track. He was a dutch driver too. Very somber note in today's race to be extra careful from what the F1 drivers said during their interviews on the matter yesterday. It was due to the rain on a certain corner in SPA.

Didn't realize this until now, very sad, and a constant reminder how dangerous this sport can be and the risks drivers/racers take to give us entertainment Sad
