1481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters risk on ERC20 tokens in ICO on: June 18, 2019, 05:52:05 AM
I just see it as complete hunger for more promotion by providing a huge token for hunters that they will eventually lock or will later reduce. Many projects lack sincerity to bounty hunters and I believe some wise hunters now are not only joining bounty because of reward but for other factors such as this. Many ERC-20 tokens always end in deep shit and 99% of the project always like to be ERC-20 because of the cheap cost of making the smart contract.
1482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters risk on ERC20 tokens in ICO on: June 17, 2019, 05:07:52 PM
Honestly, I have not heard this yet, maybe such situations really happen. I need more information before I can make certain conclusions. But in any case, thanks for such information.
Probably you are still new to the technology. Token created that is ERC-20 compliance give the dev advantage of locking anyone token incase they want to do that and that is exactly what the op is explaining. I have seen and witnessed this in the past and currently, a security token called 'CYBER' had made it clear that hunters token will be locked for some months after delaying the token distribution for more than 6 months. I have also participated in ERC-20 token that is called ICONIC. they also locked the bounty hunters token for 1 year but they ran away after 6 months Grin
1483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters risk on ERC20 tokens in ICO on: June 17, 2019, 05:02:47 PM
This is one of the trending risks of participating in bounty hunting this day. The most annoying thing is that most dev will not tell you this until the token sales are over and you start to hear different views most especially from some hungry investors, talking and looking down on bounty hunters. Like I used to tell many of them, not all bounty hunters are hungry and the fact that you lock bounty hunters token does not mean it will not get dumped. Many investors make contributions with huge discount, so they can also trade and dump their token.
1484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Debit Cards and KYC on: June 16, 2019, 05:05:16 PM
You have already answered the question. The KYC documents are not transferred to the third party but rather remain with them. Many of the providers are subjected to AML and just in case you are found wanting by the third party for money laundering, your identity can be requested from them in order to prevent them from been sued. In such a situation, your identity will be made known and you will be fetched out just like water from the well Grin. However, I will like you to mention any of the crypto debit cards you have particularly tested and works.
1485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if US government made Bitcoin illegal? on: June 15, 2019, 08:24:01 PM
It amazing how people imagination works. you didn't speculate on how btc will rise if it gain adoption by the giant US companies and to make matter worse, people having to go to jail for holding bitcoin. Do you really think such thing can work like that. Just binance alone announced that they want to remove all USA users and there are already tons of noize everywhere about binance wanna block every US citizen attempting to use the platform. Bitcoin already got massive adoption by many big US own business. They can not ban but rather continue to impose regulations. you can stop dreaming Grin

1487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto exchanges comparison [trade fee + listing fee + age + mobile app + more!] on: June 15, 2019, 07:26:31 AM
You have done a wonderful job. I actually redirected to this page from google. I will be glad if you can add features such as the estimated numbers of users on each exchange site. As we all know now that one of the important factors to consider before listing on any exchange is the numbers of active users because it gives indication on how decent is the exchange. So many exchange this day have few traders but provide fake trading volumes in order to deceive people and get ranked in coinmarket cap.
1488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties with limitations pays higher rewards on: June 12, 2019, 04:57:45 AM
Limitations reduced the number of the participants thereby leading to high reward for eligible ones after the end of the campaign. However, I have seen in some cases that the limitation does not have effect especially when the campaign suffers other challenges such as not making enough sales, technical problems that lead to reduction in amount allocated to bounty. This often happen and at the end of the day, hunters only earn penny. cointorox allocated more than $300k for bounty campaign, less than 400 hunters participated. When token was distributed, no hunter earn above $60 even when you participate in all their campaign.
1489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is a threat to the crypto space on: June 12, 2019, 04:50:44 AM
Take it or leave it, Binance is number one when it comes to crypto exchange in the world. They do not become the best on the platter of Gold but consistent effort to bring reliability and sanity to people adopting crypto exchange, and today, many exchange platform look up to them. No matter what have happened, I know they will always give reason as regard to why they delisted that token, and if the dev of such token think it is not right then they should pursue a legal action against that. If Binance seize to exist today, another trading platform will fill the vacuum and you will also say the same thing about them.
1490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties is not a reliable source of income on: June 12, 2019, 04:01:25 AM
Back in 2017 I never knew there is anything called bounties or bitcointalk forum until 2018 when I came across a PDF that says it all about how to earn coins promoting projects so since then I decide to give a try ,since 2018 now I've been promoting some projects and I've gotten paid via the project tokens but in reality I haven't been able to earn a dime ,they keep postponing when they will get listed on exchanges ,the PDF never talked about how long this always takes ,just imagine if bounty is all I got I would have starved a lot ,bounties long things and it can easily make one give up promoting them ,its always one delay after the other
Sadly, in 2017 the same activity number you have now (252) would've made you a Senior ranked member. My point being that 2017 was a better year generally for the crypto industry and those who invested, unlike now.

Anyway, that aside, bounties have become somehow worthless these days because of what shitcoins the rewards later turn out to be. But sometimes one can get lucky and run into worthy rewards if one exercises patience. Yesterday, the market was agog in what looked like a pump of the BTC2 coin doing over 5,000% rise from less than $0.60 to over $36 within a few hours yesterday. It was crazy. Imagine anyone here who participated in the bounty here last year and had like 200coins. That's huge profit, isn't it?
That depends on the month he join in 2017. I also joined Bitcointalk in 2017, August to be precise and despite the fact that I am a regular poster, I could not get a Senior Member rank. The ranking system was changed few days to my activity level to increase to 250. I think I am damn unlucky. Today I have over 600 activity with 100 merit and I am still a Full Member. Nobody knows what is going to happen to crypto in the nearest future and taking this bounty work as a full time is not sustainable for now. Not like before that you can make above $2000 for participating in a single bounty campaign. Amount allocated for bounty campaign now is what a single hunter get as a reward in few years back
1491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why bounty manager are not paying Bitcoin and other trade able coins on: June 12, 2019, 03:49:13 AM
You just one cogent reason. Another reason is also because dev are always looking for the cheap and easiest way of promoting their business and bounty campaign seems the best for them. You can have more than 10,000 bounty hunters participating in a campaign which at the end of the day may not even pay them or even change the agreement and locked their token for a very long period of time. E.g Asobicoin.Paying hunters with BTC and ETH will require them to only afford limited participants and also the fund to be spent need to be readily available.
1492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Temporarily stop crypto trading? on: June 11, 2019, 06:16:07 PM
I think you have chosen a bold step. I see no reason why you continue trading despite the fact that you have seriously lost some certain percentage of your coin. This decision actually differentiate you from a Gambler. A Gambler will continue irrespective of losing until he actually lose everything. I believe most traders have actually faced this at one point or the other. It has happened to me also and most time I pulse and wait until the market for the coin i am holding actually recovered. Most time it takes twice the time i have used to doubled the coin i am holding.
1493  Economy / Speculation / Re: If history repeats itself, we could be in for a rally in June on: June 11, 2019, 05:13:09 PM
It seems the price is a bit stabilized now and its not like before that crypto will continue dropping for many days. I know everyone is eager to see crypto boom again. Everyone is patiently waiting for breakout and if things go on well, things can fall into order and we will see crypto rally. We are still in the middle of the year and I am very optimistic crypto will witness another surprise. July/August is my own target. I think we shall see crypto rally and everyone can have a beautiful Christmas when the time comes  Grin
1494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty campain with ETH or BTC payment ? on: June 10, 2019, 05:28:39 PM
Project dev are wise. only very few of them will opt in paying bounty hunters in BTC and when they intend to do that, only limited number of people are allow to join. Bounty payment through token is the easiest way of getting huge numbers of promoters with little or no pay and that is the reason why most of them prefer that. Secondly, nearly 90% of ICO do not have fund to even developed a fully working website. So they rely on contributions that come out as a result of bounty hunters promotions and that is the part of the reasons why most ICOs fail. Lastly, the reason for token drops when listed are many. Unfortunately, bounty hunters truly contribute to this but there are also many other contributing factors such as Token listen in bad exchange with little or no trader, Investors especially those one that buy token at discounted rate and also external factors such as general crypto market performance.
1495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: June 10, 2019, 05:09:25 PM
Personally, I find hardware wallets a waste of money. They are just another electronic device you have to charge and store somewhere safe and dry. If I have to remember about a hardware wallet I could as well remember about a laminated paper wallet in a safety deposit box, especially since I can have 2 or more of them and be sure that they will never get destroyed all at once. I'm all about the classics. If I wanted to store my coins for a long time, I'd put a paper wallet in a tightly closed container and bury it in the garden. I don't get floods or earthquakes in my area so I'm pretty sure it would survive for another 20 years, or more.
Sorry to say this but what if you die. what do you think will happen to your asset. your talk about natural disaster like flood and earthquakes but since you think that has never happened in your area you think flood cannot take place in the next 20 years. What if there is climatic change. Finally, I hope the container you intend to put your paper wallet is non-biodegradable because if it is your laminated paper wallet can become unreadable in the next 20 years. despite the hard scenario surrounding the storage of huge coin, I still believe the hardware wallet is the best option for now.
1496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Online Wallet - Site Disappears on: June 09, 2019, 02:18:34 PM
After reading these so many online web wallet hacking I stopped using these online wallets and just use the desktop version, on erc20 tokens I use MyCrypto on Bitcoin and other coins my pick is Exodus, just be sure to always update your desktop wallet to their latest version.
even desktop wallet are vulnerable to attack and that is the reason while they always provide security update every time especially when they have done security auditing. the best wallet still remain Hardware wallet.
1497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Online Wallet - Site Disappears on: June 09, 2019, 02:15:07 PM
Nothing needs to be feared in crypto, because everything we do must have risks. Because the possibility that happens a little if we save coins in the wallet online and at one time the site will disappear, actually I am not afraid because there is no way that could happen.
Who told you the possibility is little. please try and research before you make ill-informed information. Online wallet do not backup your private key. If you store your coin in an online wallet and the site disappear that is the end of everything you hold because you can not recover your coin again and that is the major reason why we always advice crypto trader not to put huge amount of their coin in an online wallet. Even recently, one of the top executive of binance make reference to this that its not advisable to keep huge crypto in an online trading platform.  many people put their coin on coinbase becuase they believe if coinbase goes offline, they can legally track them down. if you put your coin in an online wallet that are new and have not gather more credibility, you are on your own.
1498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to safely store big amounts of BTC? on: June 09, 2019, 01:51:01 PM
Two should be enough in my opinion. One of storing and one for recovering in case something happens to the first device.

Don't use wallets like Jaxx and Exodus, they are not open source, you never know what's going behind the scenes and If they have access to your funds or not.

Store everything in one device, write the seed down in multiple pieces of papers and hide them in different locations. If the hardware wallet gets lose or damaged, you could use the seed to recover your coins.
the higher the number of time the seeds are written down and kept in multiple places, the greater the chance of losing the coin to third party. Holding such huge amount of money is like holding something that when you lose it you are going to lose your life. I have seen people keeping valuable assets in banks and other third-party. putting hardware wallet that contain such amount of money in bank is not a bad idea. Even if the owner died, I am sure his/her family will still have opportunity to make use of the asset. my own opinion though.
1499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: big banks going against crypto on: June 09, 2019, 01:24:27 PM
I guess you must have read alot about ICO that make mention of FIntech Bank. All I need to say is that, despite there are broad knowledge regarding financial institutions, there are still no stable and perfect understanding of what many ICO term as Fintech. Many traditional banks are now part of smaller financial institutions that many are calling Fintech. To answer you question, I do not think anybody who intend to hold his/her saving in cryptocurrency go for any other coin except Bitcoin. The research has shown that most crypto traders hold bitcoin as the highest part of the portfolio. as you can see some people here on the thread stated they hold Bitcoin.
1500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will You Advise Newbies To Enter Bitcoin Now? on: June 09, 2019, 01:12:58 PM
In as much as crypto is not dead, there is still hope that one day crypto will boom again just as it was few years ago. My advice to newbie will still be the same as it was during the hard period. Do not put all your eggs in one basket and never think crypto will make you rich within a short period of time. Do your own research and take time to plan for what you intend to achieve. He who has no rule about trading crypto will never be successful even when crypto is booming. When I was new into trading crypto, I was so lucky to always follow a lot of old members here on the platform. Bitcointalk is the only resources that provide me all information I gathered. Goodluck
