1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gone are the days where projects team ask for opinions from investors on: March 03, 2020, 12:03:07 PM
Not seeking an opinion from the community members is one of the reasons why many projects will lead to destruction. Apart from opinion about the listing, contribution from the community about features and functions they want in a project really help. The problem with dev team is that they always feel they have adequate knowledge about anything about crypto and blockchain which is not through because the technology is very evolving. I have once warned a dev team not to list a coin on Latoken and p2p2b but they refused citing reasons because CMC indicates they have a high daily volume. Today the project is in shambles
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not all projects are bad on: March 03, 2020, 11:55:13 AM
This is more reason why you must keep on updating the community and do not give false hope. Many devs have midget dream already. So it is better to always give an update and do not work to impress the communities. If things are not working let the community understand what you are doing to make it work and how you intend to go about it. It is only you that know you are working, the community does not see you, so they do not know what you are doing. Do not be afraid to lose some of the community members, those who believe in you will stay till the end but if you do not communicate or you like giving false hope, it will boomerang on the project
1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Bitcoin and Altcoins bullish together on: March 03, 2020, 11:39:29 AM
The norm is that people tend to sell altcoin to buy bitcoin which further strengthen the bitcoin and also makes altcoin price drop but this is not consistent because we have seen in the past where altcoin like ETH also bullish, though it was not as rapid as it was for the bitcoin. recently, when the bitcoin price surge and rise up to 10k, we also noticed that ETH price also went up so I think the most time when the bitcoin price increase, the price of ETH also increases. Although this is not consistent with other altcoin.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Sad News]: Nigerian shot dead after resisting robbers access to crypto phone on: March 03, 2020, 11:22:09 AM
For $400 money, a life has been loss. Maybe the rumor of having a $10k on his wallet will be the greatest gossip of his life. People should not or at least tell how much is in your posession cause other people will probably get tempted with it. Sad thing is, cryptocurrency has been involved. Hacking is a common scene in cryptocurrency but this one is worse which violence has been made just to get the funds. So sad, RIP for the guy.
$400 might look small but it isn't in Nigeria. $400 is around 140,000 naira which is more than what many bankers earn in a month. Aside from the crypto ish, Nigeria is a lawless country and unfortunately, not even police officers can save him because they are even more dangerous than harm robbers. It is becoming a norm for police officers to search citizens phones in Nigeria and ones they discover bitcoin wallets that have money ( for many of them that know what bitcoin is), you cannot go free  Grin you will have to settle them or they will detain you.
1105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BOUNTY PAYMENT MATTERS on: March 03, 2020, 11:06:56 AM
unless they pay in ETH, BTC or other strong coin, things will still be the same. There are some independent bounty platforms such as bountyhive that have adopted this in the past but the result is the same. till date, I have some token on mew that was given to me via bounty hunting and they arent listed in any exchange. It could even be worse than the dev team will give all the bounty hunters token and locked the token or decide to create a new smart contract different from the one that contains hunters' reward. I have experienced this in the past
1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shit bounties are getting attention and hype! BE AWARE! on: March 03, 2020, 11:01:05 AM
Unfortunately many hunters don't share your views because those project you mentioned above are already having bounty participants applying, so you see this type of project will always have there way because some people don't listen or care to do a little digging before joining this bounties.
And which is the reason why many of them will come back to cry that they are not being paid or that the project turn to scam. Even when I did not know anything about doing research on projects than when I first joined BTT. I made it a habit to most time join bounty campaign that has mostly high ranking members ( hero and legendary ) on the signature campaign because I believed they have much experience than me and they are not likely going to join projects that wont be good.
1107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronacoin on: March 02, 2020, 06:40:20 AM
This is wrong and abuse of the blockchain technology. This kind of project makes people have a bias attitude towards the crypto and blockchain. How to wish there is a way to report that site and get it to remove from the internet. This is a kind of project that makes people call for con censorship and banning of crypto. somebody is using an epidemic incident to promote a project that will enrich his/her pocket. This is very sad.
1108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another Ripple fork, fake or real? on: March 02, 2020, 06:31:52 AM
If you are thinking of participating in that bounty, I will advise you to not waste your time and energy because the project is not a viable one. This is very common for a long time now to see a false forked being announced to be a faceless individual. Last year alone, not fewer than 4 Ethereum fork was announced here on BTT and all of them were purely fake. If I am in your shoes, I think I will take a look at the website and check for basic tips before committing to the project. This project lacks credibility and see that web wallet makes me remember some crude way these scammers use to steal important information from people
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can porn sites make bitcoin more popular or will it brings negative effects? on: March 02, 2020, 05:53:17 AM
the porn site might have a high traffic of users but I think it might also help in making bitcoin popular and more acceptable but the major drawback is that some companies do not want to associate themselves with payment systems that support immorality. In the same way, some of the available payment processors do not want users that participate in an online gambling. also, porn sites are known to be a huge base for malware and harmful flash ads. The virus can easily steal your wallet information
1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Protect your cryptocurrency, only means, protect your account. on: March 02, 2020, 05:45:35 AM
Also, it is very unsafe to store your backup phrase and private key in your mail or on cloud storage facilities available on the internet including google drive. Do not make it a habit of using the same password for your accounts. Always use different passwords that are complex and difficult to memorize. If you have your private key and UTC files on your system, make sure you are the only one that has access to the computer. always verify the exchange website before entering your account information.
1111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people compare betting and investing in bitcoin (in terms of risk)? on: March 02, 2020, 05:39:52 AM
It is the risk involved in both that make people to comparing both the same but the level of risk is not the same, Betting involve very high risk while trading bitcoin involvess moderate risk. When you throw a bet, you can lose all your money within a few minutes but it is not like that in bitcoin trading. However, if you choose to invest your bitcoin in Ponzi schemes and other schemes that promise you ROI, I think your risk is as big as someone gambbling as well because the result of both are always similar
1112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coronavirus ain't helping on: March 01, 2020, 01:06:03 PM
Coronavirus impact cuts across all the economy of the world and it not attributed to the decline in the price of bitcoin alone. If you watch television, the stock markets have also continued to witness huge losses. The price of cryptos especially bitcoin has not really dropped too bad. I read the virus is not as deadly as the ebola but the problem was where it first started, China with such a huge population and Chinese migrants around the world. Hopefully, we get the vaccines soon so everything can stay grounded.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying low selling high ain't always successful on: March 01, 2020, 12:54:10 PM
That point you regarded as dip might be the highest price for a while. I have been there also. It is frustrating and you can become undecided on what to do but I think it is always better to allow the price to recover to the dip price before you make a further decisions on trading. If you continue to trade, you might discover that you start losing little by little. Sometimes it is better to stay and convert to USDT and watch closely the flow of the chart
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when everybody buys the bottom ??? on: March 01, 2020, 12:41:56 PM
If you're referring to Storiqa by STQ then it's not need to ask about it.
It shit / SCAM project since day one, YEAH i invested in it too when i was noob.

Another important golden rule about that bullshit of " buying the dip, buy it while so cheap, bla bla ba ", that doesn't mean it will go up again, not necessarily.

STQ is a dead coin since day one unfortunately, no team, nothing ... just plain bullshit scam project.

Yes you are right about stq been scam project.

I was referencing how so many peoples rushed to buy the bottom of the tokens as if it was angels that's gonna pump it lol.
Honestly, we all have to avoid unnecessary risks
a coin like that dies a natural death over a period of time. In most cases, coin-like that reached that bottom due to massive dump probably when it get listed on an exchange and when there is no development that makes the coin to be demanded, The trading volume for the coin will start to go low until it finally reaches zero. After some time, it might get delisted provided it is listed on decent exchanges that are not only interested in the money they will get from listing a project but wanna improve their platform
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Personal Opinion: Only a matter of time until Bitcoin will surprise us again on: March 01, 2020, 12:21:53 PM
I wonder why the coronavirus hysteria is so big.
After all, this is a virus with a 2-3% death ratio and only the really old and weak people die.The rest can be cured successfully.
The mainstream media and the social media platforms cause all the hysteria with all the "breaking news" and clickbait BS.
I don't think the hysteria is the only reason behind the Bitcoin price correction. The crypto whales just cashed out big profits at 10K USD price, and they are preparing to buy some cheap bitcoins right before the halving hits and the price goes up.
I share the same opinion with you. I have not even seen any concrete reason that shows that it was the coronavirus ish that made the price of bitcoin fell short from 10k. I see it as what we used to witness every day in the crypto world. The problem is that when the price went up to 10k people think we are already in a bull run and that the price will continue to go up but they have not justified reasons why the price rise from 6k to 10k. This is normal and we have witnessed this many time in the past
1116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency vs. Fiat currency. on: March 01, 2020, 12:13:59 PM
It depends on your needs. I cannot tell you which one is the best. There are somethings like products and services that I buy conveniently with cryptocurrencies which might be difficult and involve many steps if I want to access the same services with fiat currencies. Also, there are things that I can get easily with fiat which I cannot also use crypto for. So it all depends on what you need it for. A few days ago, I did a wire transfer from Africa to Europe using crypto and the charges were lesser than using fiat through bank.
1117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin halving make cryptocurrencies reach all time high again? on: March 01, 2020, 12:06:28 PM
It may happen. It was huge speculations and huge and continuous flow in of the investors coupled with some whales that made the price of bitcoin continuously went up few years back. But all the same, there are mere talks we do not know and we can't be certain until the time comes. I understand this has become one of the trending news about crypto now but whatever happens. I think we can learn one or two things from it.
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a failed experiment? on: March 01, 2020, 11:57:55 AM
What has the coronavirus has to do with bitcoin? there has never been a huge decline in the price of bitcoin since the coronavirus of a thing start so I begin to wonder on which basis you think the bitcoin is a failed project. If you are saying this, what do you expect people that buy bitcoin when the price of it was $15k. I bet if you are the one that invested in bitcoin when the price was high time high, you must have done something terrible. I just wanna tell you the game is not going to be over and bitcoin is here to stay.
1119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season, scam altcoin projects will appear. Check their Githubs first on: February 28, 2020, 04:44:20 PM
Forget about Github, most projects these days either turn to scam or the coin become shit. Even those with working products are not left out. They will be around for a while and probably get delisted and turn out to be a scam. For the past two years, I have not seen any project that is doing wonderfully well in the market. Many of them are dead or still struggling. I currently join GYMREWARD project and I have been seen a message about how many of the team members are compelling people to buy their token and they were given them an assurance that  they will profit
1120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrities advertise scam ICO again on: February 28, 2020, 04:29:54 PM
I think most of these celebrities that help to advertise ICO know nothing about the project and even cryptocurrency. They are most likely deluded by the amount of money given to them by the thieves. I also read the news on social media and I think this will sound as a warning to many of them not to be promoting something they have personally experienced before. I am just imagining the calamities that might have befallen some of the newbie investors that invested in the project.
