1501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A superstitious strategy? on: January 09, 2023, 09:36:11 AM
No...? I mean in the first place, I doubt you can define when luck actually "appears". Even if you go ham on a few tens of bets in one session, it isn't out of there to suddenly lose out when you feel confident and do a big bet. I mean if you actually can, then hell yea, who would be dumb enough to call that a bad strategy? Sadly enough there's no UI indicator in life that says when your current luck is maxed out or about to empty out, so really, it's a risk no matter what case.
1502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How profitable it is possible to invest in bitcoins in the new year 2023. on: January 09, 2023, 08:37:02 AM
I am interested in investing but I don't have that much experience in investing and am not able to gain good knowledge by doing research. I saw the Bitcoin market was very dumping in late 2022. But now in 2023 the market is increasing again little by little. I am very interested to invest right now if I get the help of a good investor then I will invest in this market. I am looking for a good experienced person advice for bitcoin investment. So that I can profit from investing Bitcoin wealth in 2023. Can't get much idea about the market. How should I start investing right now, should I start with a small amount of money or should I start with a lot of money? Those who have good knowledge about investment will definitely help me in this regard.
If you don't want to give enough time to study, then doing a long-term investment in Bitcoin might be a good idea, we're pretty much at the bottom if you compare it to the past year (though it might still go lower, who knows). If you're unsure of that and want something more, well, backed up, copy trading is also a thing. If you're not familiar, the term says it all, you copy the trading strategy of someone else that they provided. It's not a guarantee that it's effective though so do be careful when studying and judging those available ones.

As for the money, start with what you can afford to lose, no matter how big or small. It's an investment, a risky one, so only use what you can risk.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The level of impact of FTX crash on Your portfolio? on: January 09, 2023, 08:06:49 AM
Close to nothing. I think my portfolio originally only had a small amount for altcoins in the first place at the time? It was after everything was over that I started adding more after all. I also had no FTX account so my coins were pretty much safe. If we were talking about Bitcoin which make up almost all of my crypto portfolio then it might be different though, that was a pretty big hit but considering I already started investing at $30k, it doesn't really feel that much.
1504  Other / Off-topic / Re: Virtual Cards For Online Sportsbooks and Casinos on: January 08, 2023, 12:46:27 PM
If it was crypto casinos then 100% use crypto. In terms of Virtual cards, I've ever only used amex as one (back then), and never really used any other ones after that. Idk much about it though, I myself personally never had any problems with it, but you might want to search more about it.

On one hand though, instead of the card, it might be better to find a better casino instead? Since the problem in the first place was security. It might even be other sources that were the cause of the attempted hack in the first place even.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Cassino Continue With Wagering Requirements, If Abuse is Eliminated? on: January 08, 2023, 07:19:26 AM
1: What is your opinion on casinos that offers wagering requirements on both deposit and bonuses?
2: what do you think, if all necessary security checks are up to 100% and Abuse is totally eliminated from casinos, do you think gambling sites will make a no wagering requirement on their bonuses?
3: what conditional do you think could perfectly replace the wagering requirement in a casino that will serve players' purposes and also protect the revenue of the casino
1. Understandable. Otherwise, bonuses and the like would most likely be abused, and they'd have no real profit off of the freebies they give (not that there is in the first place though, it's only in the cases that they actually win through said bonuses after all).
2. No. As I said earlier, abuses aren't the only factor involved here, it's also the potential profits they could by making new users reach that set wager limit. In the first place, I think abuses are already countered with the fact that most casinos require KYC on withdrawal? Just that is enough to promote a ban if they discovered multi-accounting for bonuses.
3. Again, none, simply because it isn't only protecting the revenue of casinos, but rather increasing it.
1506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Are Players Going To Trust Casinos If They Don't Show Solid Evidence on: January 08, 2023, 01:43:22 AM
It depends. It's not like they can show the evidence they gathered if it's going to implicate them more, whether said implications were due to how they got it or the content of the evidence, but anyway, I reckon they can't simply show it like that. In most cases, I usually just observe how they handle a case, whether they outright ignore it, answer the questions with as much detail and evidence as possible, or simply chalk it up with the user throwing empty words at them.

I also judge them based on the proof the accusations first presented though. In most cases I reckon they just avoided something, created a new account, got banned for avoiding bans like that, and immediately assumed that it was the casinos fault and not theirs.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Gambling Slang and Terms that Beginners Should be Aware of on: January 07, 2023, 01:21:22 PM
Kind of funny how Martingale is on the list even though it's an incredibly bad strategy to use (imo). It's also my first time hearing some of the terms in the list such as Beard, Chalk, and Sharp. Rather odd or curious how some of these terms came into existence even. I'd probably never use them (or will probably see them being used), maybe once or twice a year, but glad to see a list.

I never knew that a person placing bets for other people was called beard.I have witnessed back in 2004 when the driver of a deputy used to place bets for him,we all knew he was not placing those big amounts for himself but we did not know how to name that guy,we used to call it the driver as that was his job.
I reckon it's a term used in a specific country then I guess? Seeing as you're a pretty old gambler yourself and didn't know about it.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: January 07, 2023, 06:43:38 AM
Since the thread was still active I was kinda curious, does anyone have any info on how effective the twitch ban was? I don't think it's has any negative connotation so far, no news about what has happened with twitch after all which basically means good news imo.

A streaming website fully dedicated to gambling seems like too niche to gather enough attention from the public, and as such streamers would probably ignore such platform, so I think the opposite is the correct route.
Casinos going for streamers and sponsoring them is attributed to their fame, which not only comes from gambling originally but from other sources as well. Having a website just for streaming gambling stuff seems kinda dumb, I reckon them making a channel (and possibly coordinating with the platform about possible rule bypasses) would prove to be much better, maybe inviting big streamers than gamble there every now and then.
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If Luck Was Measured In Percentage, Rate Your Luck In 2022 From 0-100 on: January 07, 2023, 02:29:25 AM
Around 40-45 I guess? I was pretty satisfied with my year but afaik I'm generally in the down most of the time with no big wins really, my sessions often end up just being empty or leaving it at the same amount. I rarely played though, maybe a bit more when the ALGS was live. Was pretty unlucky since some of my decisions were made in a whim so you can really see how my losses are pretty justified.

As for this year, I'll probably go light on it for now. Been job hunting after getting dropped off so I can't exactly splurge with how unclear my current state is right now. Well light sessions may still happen but probably a few times only this year depending on my situation.
1510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are good AI coins to buy and HODL? on: January 06, 2023, 12:02:27 PM
Huh, that's new, never heard of it. Seems like most projects are the development of AI through it? I wonder if OP can give me some sample use-case for it. Or maybe the AI part is actually just a part of the bigger things, and the project maybe delves into other branches? I've skimmed a few of their websites, and nothing really stuck as unique except for well, the AI tag. I guess the ones I viewed didn't have enough results to showcase yet or are new?
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto payments for online purchases: Trends in 2022 on: January 06, 2023, 06:26:21 AM
Because payments and price are two different things...? And most countries have started creating more and more regulations that open up businesses to being able to accept crypto payments. Ofc I wouldn't necessarily call it "regular" yet, but it is going there imo. I reckon it'd only go up from here, with more and more countries opening up and more and more businesses starting to accept crypto. In the first place online payments have boomed back in the pandemic and hasn't exactly left us even though we're already opening up to f2f, and I hardly doubt it ever will.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet is chess matches? on: January 06, 2023, 12:57:51 AM
Why not? I'd 100% vote for Magnus Carlsen in matches with him though, mans a beast. But well, I do enjoy a match or two of chess every now and then but at times it's pretty predictable, I'd actually much rather enjoy someone who does a twist mid-game, even if a mistake. But well, blitz exists anyway so I'm mostly there most of the time. Fun and fast-paced without any double thinking most of the time, especially in the end when most pieces are dead and the setups required are limited to only a few pieces.

It is reasonable though why it's less famous (imo) compared to other sports like basketball. Adrenaline rushes through you in those types since it's pretty obvious, unlike in chess where it's mostly a mental battle (and where players are already fighting in their brains a few moves ahead).
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 05, 2023, 01:46:49 PM
~
But at least it has succeeded in getting the gamblers to return to the casino many times and has indirectly made them addicted to gambling even though it's not yet too heavy. Using the beautiful woman strategy to accompany gamblers when they play gambling will tempt gamblers to continue gambling and spend their money to get wins and show off to the beautiful woman next to them that he is a lucky gamblers. Maybe it takes time for the gambler to become addicted but at least there is a chance to make a gambler who is addicted to gambling. So you have to be careful with this because the casino will use ways you are unaware of to become a gambling addict.
I actually reckon it's more of a first-time kind of incite? I reckon repeated actions that are due to beautiful ladies/women would be either because the man is inherently a playboy, or is truly in love. Either way, I don't think it causes gambling addiction that much, if it did, I'd reckon they're in the very minor part of gambling addicts. Even the reason that they started getting addicted because they were invited just simply means that attraction sped up the process, one way or another if they met gambling they'd still turn addicted.
1514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Coin_trader slot experiment to determine my luck on: January 05, 2023, 03:48:04 AM
A question though, is there a reason for choosing the cycle? 2 weeks for a playtest of winning big seem too long, that is unless you're measuring the time it takes to get that big win after that instance of break.
But how will you know if your theory is true? By making a constant profit in those sessions?

If that casino allows you to create multiple accounts then there's no need to do it for an entire year, just play from multiple accounts and you can shorten the time significantly.
I don't think constant profit is what's needed? From OP's words, I reckon any "big win" is considered a success, and the number of times it happened would probably be the only thing worth noticing from each cycle. Any losses or small wins would probably be disregarded since we're testing big wins anyway and not constant wins. I actually reckon this could be done by playing for maybe 3, or 4 days instead of 2 weeks, since as you've said, it seems to be too long of a time.
1515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Dev is not your friend, so be careful. on: January 05, 2023, 02:32:56 AM
Well the project itself was a scam so the loss was inevitable. Even with proper research people would still invest in some scammy projects or wrong projects here and there, those are risks that are involved in investing so losses are something inevitable imo. Not to mention that not all projects that you'd lose money from aren't exactly bad, they just didn't grow to the point where you could profit. It's also why the idea of investing something you can afford to lose should be realized, instead of nothing or something small, as op said.

Well if the devs were just all empty talk or unrealistic expectations then no matter what I'd just simply avoid it. Some devs are rather passionate and can explain/share everything, but some devs are simply just that bad at managing projects, regardless if they wanted to scam or not.
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing national lottery smart or waste of time? on: January 04, 2023, 08:32:24 AM
~
But that's definitely not a major factor here, I think it's got more to do with the mental perception of lottery Vs. other gambling.
For example, placing a small, combination bet on a large number of completely random sports events could give you the same potential winnings but at much better odds, and yet most people just prefer the lottery, probably because it doesn't have the stigma that other gambling has.
Yea definitely, there's probably a multitude of factors involved from perception of the activity to the rewards/odds to the gameplay itself, but we'd probably never finish the discussion since in the end, most questions can be answered by having a "personal preference".

If we were solely to compare lotteries to other types/forms of gambling, the hell lottery is by far the one with the most odds. BUT, it's also the one that gives the greatest possible turnarounds in life if won, that is until I watched a few videos of how a few lottery winners became bankrupt and came to an abrupt realization that maybe living my life just as it is is probably more than enough for me. . Note that this is only at the start, e.g. one chance to each (lottery, sports, casino), you'd get more from casinos, but as time goes on, you'd honestly lose in all cases, but casinos/sports would probably be able to return more, while lotteries won't.
1517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will 2023 be another up year for Bitcoin? on: January 04, 2023, 03:59:27 AM
So checking it seems like comparing the price from the beginning to the end of the year. I'm more hopeful that we'd be seeing up this year, not by much still but relatively better than what we had the last year. I reckon as long as stuff like the FTX/Luna fiasco doesn't happen, the market wouldn't take any sudden dips and would just do a steady sideways move, maybe up to $25, or $30k.

It's still going to be a waiting game though. If you were deciding to invest, I mean, most would say we're already at or close to the bottom, so I reckon it wouldn't be that bad to put some money into it. Any possible losses would be bearable compared to investing in the past year anw.
1518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 04, 2023, 12:20:12 AM
Uncontrolled spending. Alcohol is actually one of just many temporary influences on it, and I reckon anyone who was under the influence of alcohol (or anything similar that kills your thinking capacity) can recover from it after recovering. If, however, the problem stems from you yourself, then that's something different. Habits are something difficult to change/remove for a reason. Let's not even mention how casinos are bloody talented at marketing, specifically to those weak in the temptation department.

Everything in a casino is built or made with the idea of making you spend more money than what you would like, and one factor that contributes heavily to this are the chips you receive when you gamble, there has been research that shows that a person is more reticent to spend their money when it is in cash form, however when it is transformed and you either use chips or an electronic form of money then you tend to spend more as it feels less real, casinos realized this long ago which is why you are not allowed to use cash on their games as it benefits them.
Well, tbf, I reckon chips being used make it a lot easier to handle big amounts. I don't think anyone would want paper to be flying around during their rounds.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a lone Sports Bettor or a Team Sports Bettor? on: January 03, 2023, 08:47:44 AM
Does a discussion with a group of friends count as a team? Nothing fancy about the discussion, just a group of friends talking about their favorite teams as well as their past histories/matches. Most of my sports bets are usually decided after a small discussion like that (since it's much more fun imo), I wouldn't say that they don't influence me, that'd be absolutely bs, but I'd also say that they've never swayed me 100%, I still decide on the bets usually on my own. They're just a source of info so to speak.
1520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 03, 2023, 05:37:30 AM
Mostly sports nowadays. I used to bet on casinos back then quite often since I wasn't into sports betting that much when I first started gambling, but recently I enjoyed watching eSports more compared to playing myself so I started delving into that. I still play casino games though much more rarely now compared to sports.
Slots and other casino games are a waste of time in my opinion.
Wouldn't say so. It's just a personal preference really, I mean I reckon any kind/type of hobby a person has would never be a waste in their own opinion.
I just need to find a trustworthy sportsbook who will not only accept the bet but pay me too.
I think most sportsbook here are pretty trustworthy? I myself have used sportsbet.io, but you might want to spend some time reviewing them.
