To all the 20 year olds out there, please realise these important facts:

A return of 7% means a doubling of your investment over 10 years. This might not seem like much but is way better than anything in the old money world.

People who can consistently earn above 7% have special information not available to public generally. That's why Raj Rajaratnam went to prison.

If you can get a sustainable 10% return on your investment per year, you are doing out of this world well.

Please note that human productivity growth has only been averaging 2% per year for the last 200 years.

Asset growth increases of more than 5% per year over the last two decades were caused by excessive debt-money issuances by the banks and cannot be sustained.

What makes you think it's just a bunch of 20 year olds dumping?

Where do I send the btc?  This coin is going to be big I tell you Big Big Big.  There are all kinds of plans coming up that we can't be told about quite yet.  But wait, big news is just around the corner.  They gonna be rolling out some super duper special features.  Get in on it now.  Sell everything you have and buy buy buy.  We all gonna be rich!  Rich I tell you! Rich Rich Rich!

I can't wait to become a millionaire from my investment in this fabulous coin.

I'm going all in on this one.  It's a winner for sure.

Where do I send the btc again?

This morning (my time) I "predicted" 99% by tomorrow morning. That will in 14h from now.

Simple voodoo math ... 99% of the pool are updated.

Great!

So now the price is going to go up right?  The miners will make back the 20% because the price will go up due to the masternode payments.  Isn't that what you guys have been saying?  Still sticking to that story?

1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 15, 2014, 05:43:00 PM

I sold high.  I almost jumped back in but stopped myself.  Glad I did.

Aren't you the same guy that was posting this crap when DRK was .015?  I bet there are a lot of people that wish they hadn't listened to people like you.  The majority of advice regarding buying and selling in this thread is complete garbage.  There are a few individuals that are more objective and not just hyping.  You're not one of them.

DRK/BTC
On the other end, Darkcoin is falling continuously from recent days. Its last 24 hours have been equally disappointing. The DRK/BTC dropped 4.5% in the last 24 hours, while staying in it bearish mood. This is indeed due to the lack of any major announcement – the only thing Darkcoin charts are depending on lately. As its next hardfork in not until the end of July, it is believed that the pair will drop a few dollar more in the upcoming days, but will soon pickup upon reaching its lowest threshold.
At the present press time, Darkcoin’s value is $5.99.

I agree with this analysis.

SO are you saying that DRK is not anon?

I mean if the reciever knoews it is you.. then your are not anon.. and he can tell the rest of the world.. So you can't trust him and therefor it is not trustless.. and because there's a lot of transactions everything is centralized in the blockchain and there goes the decentralization concept.. right, camo?

No at first you were like:

It would be so hard to realse a coin with compiled wallets? Oo
No but it would be hard for dev to instamine with them.

wut.. no premine but you have 5k to throw?  Huh

I didn't think it would go this low so fast.

How low would you like it to go ?

I actually think it might test .007.  Not that I want it to.  I just have a feeling that it might.  If it does I'll jump in.  But not for long.  You could lose your ass on this one if your not careful.

Big boys and Big money are behind Bitcoin.  Just wait until it's traded as an ETF under the symbol COIN.

I can hardly wait, because Bitcoin becoming a great success is obviously great for Darkcoin. Just wait until the big boys and big money finds out about Darkcoin, and why they need it.

Someone made a comment here a couple of months ago about the Private Banking sector being all over DarkCoin and DarkSend.  That IMO is one of the many applications for DarkCoin that will appeal to high net worth individuals that value privacy...

I'm not a front office trader nor do I have a Finance degree, however I've been working in the Investment Banking industry for 15 years and let me assure you, when that sector catches wind of DarkSend+ and we have a fully tested system of anonymity, the investment is going to come flooding in like a tidal wave...

You have to be kidding.

There is no way that the most regulated industry on the planet is ever going to embrace Darkcoin.

The Banking sector all over Darksend.  Not in a million years.

I wonder why the price is going down with rc4 epicness around the corner

Because this troll got traction and we didn't call him on it immediately.

You actually think the fall in price is due to little ole me?

Wow.  Looking for a scapegoat are you?
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | Fork for Masternode Payment on: July 14, 2014, 10:34:44 PM

Remember to sell at the bottom folks - need to maximise them there losses.

It's not the bottom yet so no need to sell at this time.  Someone said in an earlier post that could could likely go to .008.  I don't remember if that was you but whoever said it was  probably correct.

Anyway, It's hotter than a billygoat with a blowtorch so I'm heading for the river for some wakeboarding fun in the sun.

I'm working on an Indy backside 180.  It's a little tricky because you land blind with the handle behind your back and I keep sliding out on the landing.

Wish me luck guys  Smiley

No. No. No.  Not Jeff Garzik too.

Quote
Jeff Garzik, one of the core developers of the Bitcoin software, stood before an audience of about 40 cryptocurrency enthusiasts and told them something that no one in the room wanted to hear. “Sorry,” he declared. “Bitcoins aren’t anonymous. [The currency] is more private and more anonymous than your credit card or PayPal. But it is less private and less anonymous than just face-to-face cash transactions.”

Oh, my lordy, lordy, lordy. You had that eCash and you sold it for scamcoin.

Oh, my lordy, lordy, lordy. Those trolls, they gonna get your eCash back. They gonna troll darkcoin for a rollback. That's plan B. That'll work.

ha ha. you shold your eCash, when you should have hodl your eCash, just when it was about to be born.

Yes many of us sold our Darkcoin.  But we sold it for a profit so if we wanted to get back in we can have twice the Darkcoin we already had because of the depressed price.

I don't know why you're making fun of people that actually made a good investment decision and sold high except out of jealousy.  If you've been holding since the highs then you are a very poor investor.

Anyway, I don't really care where the price goes.  I have 155 DRK that I had forgotten about and I'll just hang onto those.  If I put in any buy orders it will be in the low 9s and mid 8s.

You know what they say.

When there is blood in the streets it's time to make money.

There was one guy on here that used that phrase frequently.  I wonder how much of this blood belongs to them.  Did they ever get that Tesla?

I still dispute the notion that merchants are going to embrace Darkcoin.

I don't think an IRS or SEC  is going to appreciate the beauty of Darkcoins anonymous transactions.  Both of which businesses are required to submit to audits on demand.  So lets just close that door.  Businesses will never embrace Darkcoin.  It makes a nice soundbite when marketing the coin to potential investors but that's about it.

So when random guy walks into a cafeteria and purchases a sandwich and pays with cash, you have to investigate where he got that 10 dollar bill?

EDIT: sorry for responding to clear trolling but just in case someone else hasn't thought this through I decided to respond.

This coming from the original fudster in the thread.  They must have really gotten to you.  Or is it that you got in on the instamine yourself?

It would be so hard to realse a coin with compiled wallets? Oo

Sad to see that DRK is going nowhere.

This is small games and speculation still, the real world use hasn't even started yet. That's where the big boys and big money are. Right now people who know what's coming have already secured as large position as they see fit, and don't have any worries. Those who think playing trading games with other small-time crypto speculants is all that will give the coin valuation are those who worry when there is no constant flurry of exciting news to speculate on. DRK is going places.

And, we haven't even been able to market the coin to merchants who appreciate anonymity yet, as Darksend hasn't been finished. The real world usage is still waiting, so we haven't even touched the potential yet. As soon as the 10 DRK send limit is removed, Darkcoin marketing can begin with full force. The ask side on the exchanges is so thin, that any real demand for coins will shoot the price through the roof. Currently we are in a situation where those who anticipate the coming events, have a nice position already, and those who doubt, are in fear of buying - they will rather buy at 0.02 than 0.01 as silly as it sounds.

I still dispute the notion that merchants are going to embrace Darkcoin.

But some guy on the internet said Other coin was the best at anon.

Oh, my lordy, lordy, lordy.

You sold when some troll told you to sell your eCash, when you should have hodl you eCash.

Ha ha.

Wow!  You must really be holding a lot.

The problem is that you're trying to convince people that are already invested in DRK how good you think it is when you need to convince the people that don't.  All your doing is spamming your own thread.

So you use crypto and tell everyone your IP address?

http://arxiv.org/pdf/1405.7418.pdf

Oh my lordy. Why did you sold, when you should have hodl.

Ha ha.

the first eCash.....and you went and bought see through coins? Ha Ha.

What you guys fail to understand is that the vast majority of people don't need or care about the level of anonymity that you do.  The vast majority of people will be perfectly fine using Bitcoin because of the fact that it is mainstream and is being embraced by retail merchants, Wall Street, Venture Capitilists, and even some of the big banks.  That exposure alone make people feel secure in using it.  It gives it credibility.  Most people don't want to live in the shadows or be associated with anything that is.

Darkcoin might very well be the most anonymous cryptocurrency in existence.  The problem is that outside of this thread there is a much larger world.  A world that doesn't need Darkcoin and is already using Bitcoin.

I remember early on there was discussion regarding the name Darkcoin and some people said that it would be bad to be associated in that light.  I think that looking back many of you will come to realize that those predictions were spot on.  Darkcoin will have a hard time coming out of the shadows and going mainstream because it will be viewed as being something to use for nefarious purposes.
