161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: April 11, 2024, 05:10:01 AM
~
Each person has their own beliefs, and it is clear that gold has had a very good reputation for thousands of years. It is recognized, owned, accumulated, and traded by hundreds of countries around the world. I also believe that at the present time, BTC is still too young to be compared to gold in terms of value in the economy. However, what we are seeing is a shift of many traditional investors to BTC. Young people also love BTC and they are the ones who will inherit their parents' wealth in a few decades. At that time, BTC may have matured when it is more widely accepted in the investment field.

Currently, gold is still the best reserve asset because its value is stable and increases gradually over time, and BTC is a more attractive investment asset due to its very large growth margin. I believe that although many investors still choose gold, they cannot ignore the profits that BTC can bring.
They can ignore the profits of BTC, if they didn't then we would've seen more people investing in bitcoin a long time ago and yes it's true that there's a shift in terms of investment, I can guarantee you that even young people that don't know about bitcoin would still probably choose a more typical investment tool and not bitcoin, bitcoin's popularity isn't that widespread as we'd like to think it is because we're surrounded with media and people that are into cryptocurrency that we're so in tuned to think that bitcoin's that famous, stepping outside of the box will definitely make you see that there's still a lot that bitcoin needs to do in terms of popularity.
162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc purchases on: April 11, 2024, 04:09:46 AM
Do you mean kyc? You can buy Bitcoins using decentralized exchanges where you don't require to give personal information or identity. here's a link to some well known decentralized exchanges
https://kycnot.me/
What exchange would you recommend though, I've seen EXch.x there and I'm not keen on using them given that they've got some issues if I recall? I think that a trustworthy exchange would be useful in this context besides just giving out the list, that way, OP can easily narrow it down. Another thing that OP can do that won't have to compromise his or her identity is if OP does P2P with escrow, a bit riskier at first but definitely the most useful and safest way, away from KYC to trade or buy bitcoins.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin been inflitrated by global elite? on: April 11, 2024, 03:00:10 AM
Bitcoin is freedom money, anyone can invest no matter which social hierarchy you're from, you've got the right to buy it, the reason why you think that it's becoming like this is the infiltration of institutional investors which have been the fault of us retail investors anyway, we all wanted to make a profit and let bitcoin grow in value, it was supposed to be just the magic Internet money but we decided against it and we considered it an investment. I don't think that they have any power in the system anyway, if they try and manipulate the market, a lot of us already knows what to do and it's not like we're going down without a fight if they've invested a lot of money to buy more bitcoins, we can slowly accumulate our own bitcoins too and it's not like we're going to be losing a lot, those that are trading futures might lose but the hodlers won't fall easily, depending on how brave you are against sudden price crashes and the allure of panic selling, you probably won't worry about how these global elites are invested in bitcoin.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countdown to the 4th Bitcoin halving.. what should we expect? on: April 07, 2024, 08:50:16 AM
It’s a good thing. I am excited because this is how scarcity starts. The number of bitcoin mined keeps getting smaller and the one that is circulating keeps getting set around. As for price movement, don’t expect anything crazy. I’m not saying it can’t be crazy but don’t have the expectations because they could fail you. We’ve already seen an ATH and I’m not sure we’re going to see another ATH so soon. Even if we did, it won’t be so distant from what we have today.
Scarcity started a long time ago, the moment that it's written in the code that there's going to be only 21 million bitcoin, scarcity was already the decided feature that bitcoin contains. Don't let that excitement make you go crazy and not think logically, remember that this is the first time that bitcoin has reached it's new ATH before halving so we should expect a new situation happening when bitcoin reaches halving, I'm with the others that have responded about not expecting anything and that we should be flexible to whatever may happen next, it's a new thing for bitcoin so it's an unknown territory for us even if we believe that bitcoin will go up in the future and it will be it's only way, short-term price fluctuations and price dumps are going to affect us no matter how much of a diamond hand hodler you are.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: April 07, 2024, 08:10:20 AM
Lets see the way this year is going to be after the experience of the halving and the new all time high of bitcoin getting close to $200,000 then we may say that some countries may because of that make decisions on adopting bitcoin as a legal tender, just as we have it with El-Salvador and Central African Republic, there is likely we see more countries into this adoption as a legal tender before the year runs out, because bitcoin has been globally seen and recognized as a digital means of making payment.
It's not even that close to 100k and you're at 200k already? Wow! Let me in on what exchange you're getting those numbers because I really want to sell my bitcoins there. It's going to be difficult for bitcoin to even do that if you ask me, it's having a hard time going to 100k right now even though bitcoin ETFs are a success so how are you coming up with those numbers because that's not going to happen anytime soon for bitcoin. I don't know about you but CAR might not be enough in terms of adoption to push it to that level but I'm just speculating stuff, bitcoin always surprises us anyway so I guess, we can only wait and see.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need to blame fraudsters on: April 07, 2024, 07:07:27 AM
(Now to be clear I'm not saying scammers are right or saints, I'm pointing to the fact that we are responsible for ourselves, so enough of that shitty excuse, yeah the Internet would be a safer place without scammers but there are here, so deal with it)
Don't hide behind that fact that we should be responsible for ourselves because that really don't matter if there are scammers out there and there's a lot of schemes that they can use to scam you and it's not like you know all of it so even if you're the most vigilant on the Internet, you're still not immune to scams. Maybe it's not right to blame the victims of this scams though, are you that heartless that you're focused on the wrong thing which is the goddamn scammer? There's no way that people like you are for real existing in real life and that you've got this mindset that you blurt out to other people, it's scary too that you've got this mindset and your group of friends that have the same mindset. Sure prevention is better than cure but wouldn't it be nice if we're able to eliminate scammers entirely, I know you're irritated at how dumb or stupid some people are when it comes to their security online but you have to remember that you're the smarter and bigger person, you're better off guiding them or giving them the warnings.
167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good bitcoin security starts with strong PC and mobile device security on: April 07, 2024, 06:30:45 AM
I don’t even have my wallet on my laptop because I believe that it is more easier to get hacked on a laptop than it is on a mobile device. This is because on mobile device, we spend more times with apps, and i am always certain about what app i have. But on windows, a malware can come from chrome, and that’s even where metamask and the average wallets gets connected. You may not know when you get redirected to the wrong site and won’t notice anything wrong, until someday when your balance is empty. Thought I have a software that protects my laptop really well, I don’t risk it.
I'm doing the same thing, but for me though, the risk is all similar anyway, if the hacker or whatever malicious entity is trying to attack you specifically, they'll always find a way to get to you and we can't anything about it. The phone that I use for my wallet for my bitcoin storage is pretty much split into different phones, I got one of those phones that have a second device feature, I haven't tried using that to store my bitcoins but I hope others here have tried this and would it be advisable to store it there. I also use Brave browser if you want to avoid accidentally downloading malwares when you're visiting websites, another thing that can help you if you don't want to unknowingly download malwares is to buy your subscriptions to anime, don't download stuff that's on those free anime streaming website and stop watching porn, this last one, you will prevent yourself from getting them malwares and you become a better person too in terms of how your brain is wired.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Total Market Cap Has Soared Past $1.3 Trillion on: April 07, 2024, 04:31:13 AM
Market capacity is a reflection of the price and the limited supply, but it does not mean the true value. However, it gives a general indicator of growth, which may exceed Apple or Aramco at some point in the next year if Bitcoin breaks the $100,000 barrier.
The effect of halving takes some time, so do not expect anything during this year.
Definitely not worried about the waiting part, bitcoin surpassing these companies is an inevitable moment so it's just a thing of patience and DCA. It's really not surprising anymore that bitcoin is able to do that because I've had that faith renewed when bitcoin was able to bounce back when it dump when the all-time high price was still around 20k, it was a panic for me at that time but I trusted that it will go back and then it did, a year or two of waiting isn't a big deal anymore, I'm excited for what the next halving does because there's no way that it's going to be repeat history with the new ATH showing before we can even go to the halving.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is A Beacon of Hope for the Present and Future on: April 07, 2024, 03:43:00 AM
I imagine if people looked at Bitcoin this way, how much of adoption we would have seen in the world today. The world adjust based on what we make it adjust to. If everyone wakes up and starts seeing these feature of Bitcoin other than the volatility, we could be a step away from it being accepted everywhere. But I guess people will never stop seeing it as an investment scheme instead of as a currency.
Probably just a little bit higher because the price would still climb with more people wanting to buy bitcoin and with more people buying, there's a much faster rise in prices. I think that's just how it will be with bitcoin if the outlook of many people are like that. I think that even if we see it as a currency, bitcoin's price would still rise like it does because if people want to use it as a currency, there's a high possibility that they'll still want more and when there's demand for more with such a limited supply, the price will still go up. It's not a matter of why we see it as an investment or currency because either way, it will help us and the price of bitcoin would still see some growth.
170  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I want to buy bitcoin on: April 07, 2024, 02:59:14 AM
I have to remind you OP that if you choose to buy from another person in this forum, make sure that it's a trusted member here in the forum and if you want another layer of safety, you might want to check out how to get an escrow services too otherwise just follow what @hd49728 says and it's probably the easiest to do since you're probably going to buy more bitcoin in the near future anyway. Don't try to entertain people that will try to tell you that they can buy the bitcoin on your behalf or they will teach you in PMs or in calls, just follow the one that's posted, I'm sure that you can figure it out, take every measure to make sure that you're safe and not a likely victim of scammers.
171  Economy / Economics / Re: Farming and it importance to the economy on: April 06, 2024, 04:48:26 PM
I can see where you're going at OP, most farmers in my country are facing that hardship too, they feel like they don't have a choice, most of the farmers are heavily exploited too, most of them don't even own the land that they till and reap the during harvest season comes around. I hope that the farmers would someday learn that they can bend others to their will, they create the food supply, they can easily not give it out and do a strike, let the middlemen starve.
172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: April 06, 2024, 03:54:00 PM
Who doesn't get excited gambling? That's probably the most psychopathic thing that you can do when you gamble, to not feel anything. I mean shouldn't this be the feeling that you're getting anyway when you're gambling? I thought gambling's supposed to be fun, which means there's no other way beyond that besides feeling the rush of adrenaline, unadulterated fun and excitement, isn't that how it should be done. It's a weird question to ask OP, are you like some kind of person that's devoid of feelings that you have the need to ask for it?
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 06, 2024, 09:34:00 AM
Tell them not to chase loss and have a gambling budget and when to go to the hall and play gamble and not all the time..tell him that he should not stay in the casino all if it a physical casino hall and once has placed his game or bet his game then he should go home with the the print out and don't argue with other gamblers because argument brings gambling addiction because you will like to make your point vividly to them and that might cause your continues visiting the casino hall.
And when all those things I mentioned are avoided then he can defeat the addiction spirit of gambling. And if he didn't obey any of the above then he will be a good addicted gambler in the streets and the Nation.
Probably the best thing to do here, give them the basic tips because they're the easiest to remember and some of the most important things that they need to remember, I really like the tip of not chasing losses because it gives out the idea that you have the ability to stop whenever you want and that it's alright to let losses happen to you. I don't agree that someone can easily keep addiction at bay just by following these tips though, some people's psyche are just wired in a way that they're easily susceptible to addiction or obssession, so no matter what, even if they follow it by heart if they're easily taken away by addiction, it's going to be a futile attempt.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online casino gambling is more of profit chasers while land base is more of fun on: April 06, 2024, 07:41:20 AM
I mean it's already an obvious thing, probably because it's convenient to gamble online that people that try to gamble for profit, they can easily get back into it and the amount they need to bet or gamble on particular games aren't that high for them to get a big win comparing that to a physical casino where it's much higher from what I've heard. In terms of being for fun, physical casinos are the best at it because they've got social interactions and more entertainment that's not possible in an online casino.

I don't agree that they're not for profit though, you got to remember that there's a lot of cheat detector in an online casino unlike with a physical one where they rely on human intuition, there's a lot of card counters and poker hustlers that are roaming around these casinos so I'd say that they're even in terms of people that are gambling for profit with physical casinos at an advantage in terms of fun.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land Based Casinos in the Digital Age on: April 06, 2024, 06:49:12 AM
As far as I am concerned gambling is not the same for everyone many people prefer to play online casinos and many people bet in land based casinos. But in the digital age, online casinos are gaining more popularity. Everyone is able to sit and bet at their own pace and bet with their friends. Nowadays people prefer to bet from home rather than going to the casino. Land-based casinos may gradually decline in value.
Exactly but what's crazy is that the more money you've got then the more likely you're to stay away in online casinos because there's just not that much they can offer you if you're a high roller, it's more practical to go for physical casinos because you can probably get a hotel stay there and see other entertainment besides the games that they offer, there's more benefits to gambling in a casino when you've got more money so I don't think we'll ever see a decline of these land based casinos, maybe if there's a lot of articles lef and right that would support your claim that they're in decline and we can physically see it, that's probably the time that I would change my mind.
176  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just another gambling addict story. on: April 06, 2024, 06:16:47 AM
Sad news overall but I think more than rehabilitation, that person needs to be punished for his crimes, there's no way that someone would just repent because you've forgiven them and you gave them a chance, that moment is the opportunity that most of these addicts look for to know that they can just walk all over you and do what they do all over again because you know that you'll forgive them, this is especially devastating to that nephew because they've done all he can to save that money and suddenly it's going to get stolen. I hink that your situation, there needs to be some involvement of litigation, rehabilitation won't work if the person doesn't have the will to be rehabilitated.
177  Other / Off-topic / Re: 73-Year-Old Michigan Woman Believed She Won Over $3M but got SCAMMED for $700K on: April 06, 2024, 03:43:50 AM
That's a sad thing, old people really need young adults in their life because with these people running around scamming them of their retirement, it's going to be even more rampant, with more and more people getting old and having more money for their retirement, they're never going to find peace because they're always going to be a target of these scammers and we know how much those people like to do it especially being such an easy money for them if the elderly bites the bait of the scam. Or maybe move them away from their electronics or phone because that's how these scammers get you, by phone or by emails. It's a good thing that people all over the world with a really high expertise in network infiltration are doing the work of exposing these scammers and trying their best to destroy their networks, I donate to those people whenever I can because most of them do it full time without payment because YouTube doesn't monetize them but through donations, they're able to do it.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $100,000 and $1,000,000 Bitcoin on: April 06, 2024, 03:02:39 AM
I've done the reading and let me tell you OP, I would advise that you need to collect your thoughts because you're going on a tangent every sentence which leads to your opinion that bitcoin will lead to 1 million USD and I think that you could've easily explained all of that in a much shorter way. Now look at all the posts in your thread, the posts don't take you seriously which is really sad not to mention that you've mentioned cloud mining which we all should've known by now to be a scam and any way, shape or form you say it, you aren't going to excuse yourself that you think it's a legitimate services.
179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the halving already priced in? on: April 06, 2024, 02:30:21 AM
At this point, your theory would be valid because bitcoin never had this before which means that it could go with either halving making the price go even higher or lower or stable, what happens after halving because of this happening could be an endless possibility, it will not be the same as when halving starts and passes, expect the price to rise, it's not the case on this one anymore. It's going to be more preparations more than ever too because with all the possibilities, you need to prepare on each situations that would happen; in the case that the price goes up, you need to up your investment game and increase what you're hodling, in the case that it would go down, you need to increase your savings in fiat so you can get more value out of bitcoin and you don't miss out when the price of bitcoin gets cheaper and in the case of stability in prices, probably do both I guess but much more milder.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has BTC really become more attractive than gold? on: April 04, 2024, 09:36:06 AM
They are both for long-term investment but what makes Gold the best option is because we are certain that the price will continue to increase, unlike Bitcoin. Maybe we can say that Bitcoin is more attractive or very popular because we are here in the crypto space but as I've tried asking people around me, they don't even know about Bitcoin. I think, it still needs several years of growth consistency to look more attractive to the people who are doubtful about the use of this project. What we have today was not enough to convince people to invest in Bitcoin because until there are FUDs and negative issues, that also give worry and fear to the community.
Even if that's true, bitcoin would still be my pick, the uncertainty might be anxiety inducing but let me tell you this though, it's definitely something that's worth more than gold and the value you'd get in 5 years with bitcoin comparing that to gold is probably big. It might just be me but I believe that if stability is the reason for you to invest in gold or any stable investment out there, you're probably making the wrong decisions that would lead you to do things that's a bit mediocre when you could've done better. I do agree though that we don't have enough for the convincing part but I think that it's not really our business to do that, it will eventually happen and when it does, those people that weren't convinced early would be regretting that they've doubted bitcoin, let's just revel in their misery of missing out for too long because they were ignorant.
