Its hard to stay on topic ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) We'll just have to wait until Claymore brings us that new sacrifice for the gods (new dual coin to mine). Other than that, i'd love to mine on etherminer, but the damn 4444 port is not working. anybody have any ideas for me, i didnt really try anything special yet. etherpool works fine, but I'd rather have ethermine. Sorry!!

This is what I came home to today. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.holylands.com%2Fmb.jpg&t=663&c=rSygtW41guxkow) Were you using RX 480 graphic card with that motherboard? What temperature were you getting with it? Definitely curious to know that... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) They were running at 79-80 degrees, from what I was ready that was normal.

Has there been any official statement from AMD about making a new revision of this card with 8 pin connectors, or anything about this 470 release?
Looking unprofessional
If you do not overclock, will you still have burned PCIE slots? I wasn't overclocking.

Well there are a lot of reports of PCI slots crapping out, I came home to this in my rig that had 3 RX-480s in it. They all went back for a refund today. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.holylands.com%2Fmb.jpg&t=663&c=rSygtW41guxkow) Can you answer the following? Were you dual mining? YESOverclocking? NO, actually I had the clock less the standardIncrease Power Limit? NOwhat motherboard is that? ASrock H81 Pro BTC? No, it's an Asus P7P55-LX, it was the 1st rig I built. Ran for 3 years with 3 280x and non-powered risers. 6 hours with the 480s and poof!!

I know, but funny thing, I have ran 3 280x's on that system for years with non powered risers and have never had a problem. These draw less power but fried the board. Powered risers (and a new motherboard) or on the way. I'll wait to see what comes out with the 2nd gen of the 480s

Well it blew my motherboard. Returning them!!
What part did it blow up? How was it connected? When I came home, no fans on the card, no video, no boot. I had 3 cards hooked up with non powered risers. Sending them back and I'll wait for an 8 pin version. There are scorch marks on the main power to the motherboard. Even if it was any other GPU, you should never use more than 2 GPUs without powered risers. It sucks that you destroyed a motherboard and PSU. If you are good with soldering you can fix both the motherboard and PSU but you need special tools. I have plenty of power supplies, have to get a new motherboard. I even had the clock speed on the GPU's clocked at 1000. Oh well, gives me an excuse to get better cards in a month or so. Until then, get a new MB and put the 280s back in.

Those look fine, the only burn marks are in the big connector going to the motherboard

The RX480 killing mobos really isn't much of an issue for miners since we all use powered risers. The ribbon risers usually have a thick 16AWG cable connected to the molex, I am sure this cable can handle 100Watts no problem.
However no idea how those USB risers will work since they are powered by the SATA connector and those usually have a smaller gauge cable then regular molex.
One cable will handle 100W without problem. But do you have 6 molex cables connecting to the power supply? I know with mine I have enough spaces to hook 4 modular molex into the PS

Q: What crypto do pirates mine?

The Risers I have coming in have a molex on the board and come with a SATA - molex connector. I'm just going to plug the molex right into the riser.

Mine will run for 6-8 hours then reboot.

Is anyone using RX 480s with powered risers? My system runs for about 8 hours then reboots. Plus the control center is the newer one and doesn't show temps.
I have the molex powered risers. That is connected to the motherboard PCIE slots as well. That is safer. I ordered some they should be here today or Tues. Waiting for them before I add the 4th card.
