1601  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: August 05, 2012, 12:14:54 AM

I do not feel embarrassed to be associated with Adolf Hitler historical character.

I do not support fictional Jewish storytelling.

I do not care about threats made in Internet forums.

Then I would not even "respond" for whatever enquires would be made regarding your hypothetical event.

And what about the people who are convinced that you were the one that did it and will do as much as they can to damage you, your family and your career off of the forums?

This reasoning is completely out of context since your hypothesis did not occurred in the case of the user Zhou Tong.

So please, you and other users, stop with the emotional arguments.
1602  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation on: August 04, 2012, 11:22:55 PM
Users accusing Aurumexchange of TOS break are indirectly supporting the hypothesis that Zhou Tong is the hacker.

If Zhou Tong is the hacker, then Aurumexchange released information of a customer.

If Zhou Tong is NOT the hacker, them Aurumexchange released information of an unknown person.
This makes no sense at all.

Consider this hypothetical: You open an account with some service. I hack your account and use the service to buy 1,000 copies of Mein Kampf which I leave on the doorsteps of Holocaust survivors. There's a public outcry over this event and the purchase is investigated. The service publicly announces that your account was used to buy those 1,000 copies of Mein Kampf, which embarrasses you. You receive death threats, harassment, and so on. When you respond that you didn't buy them and that someone else must have hacked your account, does that let the service off the hook for the privacy violation? After all, it wasn't your transaction.

I doubt it, considering if you win, you are classified as someone who produces alcoholic beverages.

Also suspicious: this thread is linked to from their site.

I got here because I am trying the http://www.bitvisitor.com/ service and the http://www.btclottery.net/ is one of the offers.

I just spot the Bitcointalk shortcut when browsing the page and thought that it would end in a topic for support...

That is not the case.

anyone?

i'll put 3 BTC on MtGox.

of course, it's just going to make everyone suspicious of me when it happens... hmmmmm... Smiley

The 15,000 BTC Bitcoinica's funds are there.

You did a good bet, indeed.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement about the suspect of recent Bitcoinica hack on: August 02, 2012, 11:32:39 PM

Actually no, that's kind of retarded.  Quoting someone discussing violence and admitting they are stalking someone and incriminating themselves is not the same as mentioning that it happened.  We have a separate thread for this now if you want to debate the mod decision that these threats were problematic:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=97365.40

We?

Who is "we"?

If you know there is the appropriate thread for such matter, why you insist to continue the debate here?
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Statement about the suspect of recent Bitcoinica hack on: August 02, 2012, 03:20:09 PM

Why are you quoting mlawrence as LoupGaroux ?

Different users.
1608  Other / Off-topic / Re: Private war between Rarity, augustocroppo and mlawrence on: August 02, 2012, 03:11:20 PM
If someone wishes to get a PI to investigate ZT, that's absolutely ok. However, I cannot allow mlawrence or anyone else who even jokingly threatens violence against ZT to publicly gather funds to "investigate" ZT, unless they are directly giving the payment information for a legitimate PI. Anything short of that could potentially leave the forum liable for any illegal action taken against ZT, since the issue was reported to the moderation team. If it wasn't reported, I could care less what you guys do, as long as you're on-topic in the threads you post in. However, this was reported with significant evidence that the funds might be used to hire a hitman.

Reported by who?

Which evidence?
1609  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bitcoinica Consultancy abandons customers. Bitcoinica to enter Liquidation on: August 02, 2012, 04:48:59 AM

When you deposit funds on MtGox, those funds are then used for other accounts, it's the way most (if not all) online wallets are working.

Used for what?

I thought this funds were in a single account, as you admitted.

MtGox officially confirms currently having on deposit those 15,006.00000000 BTC. As you may know, our system uses a pooled Bitcoin online reserve, which means that activity beyond that point is no longer from Bitcoinica, LP.

We also have disabled the ability to withdraw Bitcoins from the account where those Bitcoins are held to ensure the security of those coins until we receive validated information from an appointed receiver for Bitcoinica, LP.

So why the funds where split in four parts if there is only one account?

The funds were split in four different wallets, including one which have been used for previous transactions.

Remember you don't have to take my word on this, we have his own words and the moderators have confirmed this whole thing by deleting his thread and explaining why they did it.

AH AH AH

You are desperate.

Look like you are not going to be hired again.

Psychological warfare does not work around here.

Thank you by the show off and the show business.

I had a sarcastic laugh at least.
1615  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TheBitMint - Buy Bitcoins With PayPal on: August 02, 2012, 12:11:10 AM

hmmm... $55 in 2 Paypal accounts...

Yeah, stuck there, I just do not know what to do with that money at the moment...
1616  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: TheBitMint - Buy Bitcoins With PayPal on: August 02, 2012, 12:07:56 AM
For information, I have decided against funding a loan to support the payback of the creditors here.  I believed that it would have been useful for the community to have this mess cleaned up, but my assessment of the risk to my funds (based on information released and not provided) would be too high.

If he gave you the information would you give him a loan? BitMan why not give the information you get the money in 180 days

It was not as simple as that (would be nice if it was).  He offered various verbal guarantees and provided some information about some of the resources he could use to back that up.  I don't understand why he isn't using those (and as it was provided via pm, it is not my place to comment on those here).  I also asked about having a parental acknowledgement and/or guarantee because, as is noted above, the guy is 17 which is currently the only thing I know about him.  The parent involvement was consistently a blank for whatever reason, and I understand that is his choice.  My choice was to step away from this because if I can't get these simple things sorted out easily, I don't need to be worrying about $4k for the next six months.

US$ 4,000.00 !

 Shocked

I think he owned less than that...

Poor him.

Did he proved to be 17 years old?

When you reference violent mob justice, try and find where someone lives, admit you are stalking and committing a crime, you force the mods to act.

mlawrence did not admit to commit to any crime...

You are producing fictional events with no evidence whatsoever.

Having a tantrum about it does not change the responsibility the moderators have to protect the users of this forum from serious violent threats from other users.  It's a shame he fooled so many of you into buying into his tantrum, I hope you do not think giving him any more attention at this point will be a productive endeavor.

Pony's shit...

Aggressive words in a open forum in the cyberspace do not harm anyone, therefore there is nothing to be "protected" because there is not any imminent danger.

I am glad that I do not have to clean the mess you do with your manure's mindset.
1618  Other / Off-topic / Re: Statement about the suspect of recent Bitcoinica hack on: August 01, 2012, 10:32:30 PM

I have already quoted the offending comments in this thread, and Matthew quoted the deleted one you are trying to pretend doesn't exist like a guilty child.  Having a tantrum about it and insulting the integrity of the moderators will not change what happened.  Grownups take responsibility for our actions, and one day you will learn that.

Your cheap psychological warfare is laughable and obvious.
1619  Other / Off-topic / Re: Statement about the suspect of recent Bitcoinica hack on: August 01, 2012, 10:28:28 PM

Because the person running it has threatened violence against him.  There is a difference between fearing the law and fearing a lynch mob featuring calls to stalk and injure someone.

My topic was moved to the trashcan because Zhou Tong has donated a lot of funds to the forum.   Wink

So, a user suggest to organize a legitimate private investigation to discover real evidence and clarify the matter, but you admit that he is trying to gather a "lynch mob featuring calls to stalk and injure someone"?

Again, you are being contradictory.

After all, you try to associate him with "conspiracy theorists"... You, a user which admits being a male with an avatar of a pony?

AH AH AH

Pathetic.
