1641  Economy / Economics / Re: The dream of getting rich with bitcoins on: June 16, 2017, 12:26:43 PM
Even i have a dream to get rich with bitcoin. I had much loss in my bitcoin trading. But also bitcoin made much profit to me.
In all my life time i have learnt one thinkg that we cannot earn bitcoin without investment, patience, skills amd research.
Many nebies are getting into bitcoin. Bitcoin is also spreading worldwide and i think bitcoin will also increase its price. Trading bitcoin will never be a loss i guess.

As you've said yourself one can lose a lot with trading so it's inadvisable to do that unless you are experienced and skilled trader.

With bitcoin it's not necessary to trade or to invest your BTC in an enterprise, it's enough to invest in bitcoin and then hold it until the price doubles.
1642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: June 16, 2017, 12:19:38 PM
its really a serious problem once gambling addiction would really be already into yourself. This thing would really make you play gambling no matter what, even you are losing up money you still dont care as long you can play but sadly most of gambling addicts do end up on wrecking their own lives because of this.Once experienced they will surely got a lesson learn after that situation happened to them.

Once someone is addicted then it is very hard to get out of it. Sometimes I wish that I never get into gambling because it has changed my life but sometimes the life lesson that I get from gambling is very good. I learn to save my money and even control my addiction so that I wont spend alot of money for it

If you are able to control it that's a very light version of the addiction. Smiley

The problem with many gamblers is that they can't even realize that they are addicted to gambling even though they are constantly coming back after numerous promises to themselves to quit gambling for good.

How sbi vc will list btc and XRP amongst 20 fiat currencies...
this is real mainstream big adoption incoming...very soon...they say it themselves...THIS SUMMER

Yep. And don't forget Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Swiss UBS, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and others.

Buy at $0.25 now or buy at $1 later, because it will be $2 by the end of this year.

All of these and still the price the same or less than it was? How much time will it take for these banks to start increasing the value of the ripple, as currently it is really low.

I consider ripple as one of the best coins after bitcoin and ethereum but seems that it needs a long time until this can be noticed and the price to be increased.

IMO this happened already about six weeks ago when XRP was $0.03. Then the price jumped to $0.41 in a matter of two weeks and although it has dropped a bit since, we still have nice and solid $0.26. I think it doesn't matter much whether people will notice the coin or not, but the recognition by big banks that's what much more important.

30k sat now! Wow!

Yes, it keeps rising, it's 0.00031554 BTC already! And in USD it went from $0.59 to $0.79 in in a matter of two days. And if people will not start dumping the coin thinking that it will never go higher than it is today, LBRY will be rising more and more.
1645  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-14]4 Reasons Why I'll Never Invest in Bitcoin (and You Shouldn't Either on: June 16, 2017, 09:40:58 AM
They're so dumb.

-Cash is far more anonymous than Bitcoin is.
-Miners don't just "stop profiting" when there's no longer a block reward.  Transaction fees rising as high as they are now is nothing to do with the block reward.
-People not understanding Bitcoin for now is a good thing.  It doesn't mean that Bitcoin is particularly hard to understand.
-Buying on Bitstamp is safe enough.  You don't have to keep it there forever.

Yes, I agree with you in general. But on the other hand I agree with them on that WannaCry
WannaCry only received about $100,000 in their three public addresses, and Bitcoin's 24 hour volume is about 1.6 billion.  There couldn't be any less relevant thing for Bitcoin's growth, and even the publicity was completely minimal considering that the media, surprisingly, didn't make a big deal out of its relation to Bitcoin.

But they were mentioning bitcoin in almost every news about WannaCry and thus a lot of people around the world first heard about it. I know that money paid as ransome couldn't affect the bitcoin price, but millions of new adopters, who just want to have $50-$100 in BTC just in case, could.
1646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Someone won freebitco.in lottery already? on: June 16, 2017, 09:24:35 AM
Even though freebitco.in is one of the old and paying faucet out there, I doubt on the way they pick lottery winners. Odds to win there is almost 0 because of lots of tickets sold every round and lots of people have free tickets with every claim they make on faucet.

But this is inherent to almost any lottery. An average state lottery has jackpot odds of about 100,000,000 to 1, and in the Powerball lottery the odds of winning are 1 in 175,223,510.

Yes, in lottery winning chances are very less and should be very lucky to win a big amount. Since no one can verify how they are picking the winner so there are chances that admin can pick the number which they want so until they find ways to verify system is fair and they are not doing any hidden things. It is better to avoid the site to buy lottery tickets.

I for one never buy lottery tickets there and there is an option to "disable lottery" which means that if you do that "you will receive reward points instead of lottery tickets at a 1:1 ratio for all future FREE BTC rolls that you or your referrals play" as they state on the site and that's true. Btw you can do some nice things with the reward points, you can read about that in the section REWARDS on the site .
1647  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin atm on: June 16, 2017, 08:59:16 AM
I know one bitcoin machine in my country, but based on the guide video that i watch, the machine charges quite a lot and the rate is quite bad if you want to change your fiat to bitcoin.

Unfortunately most bitcoin ATMs are like that you described. Perhaps if there will be a lot of them, like two or three in every big shopping mall, then they will have no choice but lowering fees and giving better rates because of the rivalries.

I hope you are right, but the BTMs seem to be expensive to buy, maintain, take the cash out, as well as pay whatever rent.

There are about 7 machines in my city now (SE USA), none is cheaper than 13 - 14%, but it's a CITY and spread out, maybe with more BTMs closer together competition might help get fees lower.

If I am able to buy some BTC here in N Italy, I'll let you all know my experience.

I understand this, but I think they shouldn't concentrate on the fast repay, but rather should be thinking long term. If everyone knows your Bitcoin ATMs are giving the best rates in town no one will go to others and in the long term you'll be in profit.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: June 16, 2017, 08:48:38 AM
Having a right mind set and being objective is what you need to prevent grediness. Of course if you feel like your emotion is becoming more dominant than your strategy, it's better for you to stop it and that is what we called a right mind set. Before we gamble, we must be clear on ourselves that we should take it if we lose. If we win, it's also better to stop it so that there is no opportunity for house edge to defeat you.
You should actually maintain a maximum bankroll for each week and once that much is lost you should stop gambling, this way you will at least gain some stability if not a good management. You should always remember one thing in gambling, you wont win !

It is just how long you can gamble with those same funds, if you bust them quickly its poor gambling and if you manage them longer then pro gambling.

That's why it's helpful to set a limit on what you can deposit say during a week and never go above that limit. Thus you will enjoy gambling without losing to it more than you can afford. It's hard to do at first, especially for an addicted gambler, but if you'll manage to do it your life will change for better.

I must say our avatars are looking pretty awesome right now  Cheesy Cheesy

I'v also been in some sort of contact with TheTorcoin and it appears he's having trouble with finding a dev for the Windows and MacOS wallet  Cheesy

But we already have the Windows wallet, or am I missing something?

Also I think it's possible to find a dev making an announcement in the Services section here, I'm sure there are people on this forum who can do it.

1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: From faucet to thousands on: June 15, 2017, 04:05:11 PM
Do you know a good strategy to increase faucet satoshis (300-500) to couple thousand?
You can increase faucet to couple thousand with any kind of strategy, you just have to roll number. You can try to play strategy which i call double or nothing, hit couple of times with full bet payout 2X and there you go.
But why do you want to increase faucet to couple of thousand satoshi, i am sure it's not enough for withdrawal.

If you know how to make 2k out of 100 satoshis then you can make 40k out of 2k. Having 40k you can make 800k out of it and so on ad infinitum. Smiley
But seriously, that's almost impossible. Being very lucky once I made around 80k starting from 200 sats, but that was only once and I lost all of it anyway.
No, you can't think this way because on long run house edge will catch you. You will very easily make 2K from 100 satoshi faucet, but making that 2K to 40 and so on is probably not going to happen, because you are not making 40K from 2k, you are trying to make 40K from 100 satoshi.

That is correct and no way I'm saying it's easy to make 40K from 100 satoshis, but it happens. For example that particular time when I made 80k starting from 200 sats, at first I was betting with 4 satoshis on 0.01% win chance and although I had enough to do 50 bets I hit that 99.99 in less than 30 bets and that gave me around 40k at once.
1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: June 15, 2017, 03:51:46 PM
I mainly save Bitcoin for daily payments, usually musics or games so that I dont need my visa to buy those services

But you have to be careful paying with bitcoin for those things. Once I sold $250 worth of bitcoin to buy a new phone when BTC was around $1,000, and then, some time later, I realized that I paid much more for that phone.
1653  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think billionaires invest in BTC? on: June 15, 2017, 03:15:46 PM
Winklevoss Twins, known for their legal battle with him, earned $11 million from their investments in Bitcoin.

$11 million that they earned? That's quite a joke considering they have taken a 100,000 BTC position into Bitcoin years ago. Sure, they may have cashed out a decent number of coins, but that $11 million in profits is a tiny and insignificant figure compared to what they are holding. Can you link me to an article that will help explain how this $11 million in profits is set up? It's too low to be just based on their position in Bitcoin....

Yes, sure, here it is:

http://gazettereview.com/2017/05/top-10-richest-bitcoin-millionaire/

I didn't know they've had 100,000 BTC, probably cahsed out most of it earlier, poor poor guys.  Smiley

Also, can you link me to a reliable source about those 100,000 BTC? Because I've found only this https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4stfw9/for_one_bitcoin_to_be_worth_100000/ where they say about it in a comment with only one point.

LBRY has been performing well, lately. Looks like it's not too late to get in on the action

Indeed LBRY is showing a great performance, 24.90% in BTC in the last 24h. It is up from 16.5k satoshis just two days ago to 23k right now.

Considering the trading volume on Poloniex, which is around 4 million, I can imagine how someone has made tens of thousands of USD in two days by trading LBRY.

The best part about this No ICO project that they havent dumped a single premine coin on is this nice natural market growth Cheesy
I don't feel like were speculating on Vaporwear, the LBRY APP is VERY real. And it's not another ETH Token ICO where our only hope is a bigger idiot buying OUR tokens ;p

All believers of LBC are seeing their rewards now, hey where did the troll mrtrust go? haha nothing left to say apparently

I agree. Just take a look at the top 100 coins on the coinmarketcap right now. LBRY is among 5-6 other coins which wasn't dropping during the last 24 hrs, and even more than that, LBRY rised 37.52% compared to bitcoin, which is the highest rising among the top 100 coins .

Yes, I agree with you in general. But on the other hand I agree with them on that WannaCry and Japan's legalization were among the main factors of bitcoin's recent rising. But most likely they took that analytics from somewhere else rather than wrote it by themselves.

Have high hopes for both of these as do many people.
They have a similar circulating supply.
I see both hitting $100 within a year - which do you guys think will hit first?

 Smiley

I don't think any of these coins will hit $100 within a year because both of them are under $10 right now and none of them were above $11 ever. But if you ask me I would go for Waves because it is traded on 40+ exchanges while Stratis is presented on only 11. I think people who run exchanges know better than me which coin is better.

1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: June 14, 2017, 03:34:59 PM
I wasn't able to control my greed when i was still new in gambling, I kept repeating losing every week in casino. The reason why i can control my greed now is because of my EXPERIENCE. The more i lose the more i understand the importance of CONTROLLING yourself. I don't lose a big amount of money now unlike in the past when i was still young in gambling.
It is a good thing you have learned your lesson there are many people losing a lot of money in casinos that seems like they are never going to learn their lessons or they simply try to ignore reality and make their best effort to deceive themselves and think they are going to win.

Try doing yoga and other relaxation patterns, try to have a nice effect when you are involved in a period that confuses you in gambling. Nowadays there are lots tools like fidget spinners and bao ding balls to keep our minds in focus, there's nothing wrong if you try.

I agree, any relaxing activity is good to turn your thoughts away from gambling if you can't control your greed. Also yoga can even help you to enjoy gambling because with yoga you can learn how to control your feelings and you'll diminish your greed to minimum.
1660  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin be created by Russia or China? on: June 14, 2017, 01:14:50 PM
Can Russia or China done such a thing to erase the dominance of the dollar over the world?

Generally, there are always governments behind such technologies. For example, StuxNet
If they had done it,then why should they first try to ban bitcoins and then start to regulate it.Bitcoin was created by satoshi not against US dollars, but to free people from banking sectors. But surprisingly, bitcoin is reducing the dominance of dollars world wide and it could replace dollars as global reserve currency in the future.

I agree with this. If Russia or China created bitcoin they would be already showting about that from the rooftops. No need to keep in secret such great achievement if you've done it.

But if I were them I'd probably was spreading such rumors too.  Smiley

Bitcoin was created not by special services, but by a group of programmers. And it could be people from any country. These people were not governmental, so bitcoin is not recognized at the legal level in many countries

It will be, sooner or later, I'm sure. Some governments are accepting bitcoin already, like Switzerland, Japan, and Australia will be the next most likely.

But maybe it wasn't "a group of programmers" who created bitcoin. Maybe it was one person.
