1661  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: March 12, 2016, 12:58:10 PM
Take a coin, go with heads for "yes" and tails for "no" or vice versa and then flip it.
That's the best answer you will get my friend. Wink

well said. it's either 'yes' or 'no'. but if you only look at the long term, then it's just a matter of time before we reach the $800 level.
1662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $700 again on: March 12, 2016, 11:00:41 AM
After eating ethereum alive, bitcoin could reach well above a grand

The question is will Ethereum pop or would the bagholders be unaware and we're for a longterm eth decline

that's something only the whales behind the eth pump knows. a lot people thought the price would peak at 0.01btc and then go down again, but it went up even higher than that. then people were saying it won't go above 0.02btc, and it still happened. and look where the price is now, it's over 0.03btc and might get pumped even higher.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market ended. Now going to $500 on: March 12, 2016, 10:53:25 AM
after looks the price strong at 400$ because we already stay 3 weeks at these level now i'm so confident price will going to 500$.
actually the prices stuck at $400-$420 since several weeks ago also looks like prices movement seems pretty slow
and i'm doubt that we will see bitcoin prices reach to $500 till next month

I also don't think $500 will be reached soon, most of the Bitcoins are now being traded for Ethereum, there's were the
quick profit is being made now. As soon as Ethereum crashes, everybody will jump back on the Bitcoin train and prices
will go up again

most of the bitcoins are being traded for ethereum? don't think so. ethereum is being pumped with the same amount of bitcoins since the very beginning. the higher the price is, the more bitcoins are showing up in the buy side of the order book. these coins were already in the pockets of the guys behind the pump. the only difference is that these whales are seeing their coin count increase each day due to greedy people buying into the peak making the whales even richer.
1664  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: March 12, 2016, 10:46:54 AM
I agree! Bitcoin is the cheapest you will find right now in the next 5 years in my opinion. The price is very stable too, so even if there is not a big move to let's say 500$, you are still okay due to the stable range we are in.

Well it's not cheapest that you can find, we can wait for another dump and win by buying at lower price, but i wouldin't risk, also yeah, buy now because good price, and it will rise even more after halving

in the few years i have been into bitcoin i have learned one thing that is important to know; a "low" price can always go lower. never think we will not see the price go below a certain price level.
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500 Within 2 Months? on: March 11, 2016, 02:02:14 PM
$500 will  be reached in 2 months. This price increase will be of the normal growth. There won't be much impact on the bitcoin price due to halving, as halving is expected to fall by July.

it will definitely happen before the block halving. if it isn't from genuine growth, then it will be the speculation part that will take the price to $500 and maybe even higher before the block halving. i expect a small rally to take place a few weeks before the halving is being completed. we just need to have a little bit more patience. of course all this is just speculation, the price may also go down significantly in the runup to the halving, but i don't think this will happen.
1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A 7-Yr Prison Term for Bitcoin Use, Says Russian Finance Ministry on: March 11, 2016, 01:57:27 PM
normal well behaving people that use bitcoin will end up in prison for using bitcoin, yeah right. this looks like a very early april fools joke from the russian ministry.
1667  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which would be the break point in your opinion? on: March 11, 2016, 01:20:39 PM
people here can only make rough guesses unless they are a market mover. at this point i wouldn't want to risk selling my coins and seeing the price go up just because i wanted to make a few bucks profit. it will keep bouncing between $380-$420 as talks_cheep also said. i only don't agree with him saying the price will go to sub $300 prices after the block halving.
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long is Bitcoin life? on: March 11, 2016, 01:14:36 PM
Due to the invention of power, it has become one of the basic requirement of day to day life. So till living creations come to end, bitcoin will be there. Only when power generation comes to end when living creations gets vanished which may collapse the running back technology of bitcoin.

that's quite a dramatic scenario, but indeed, to "kill" bitcoin you only need to shut down all the power in the world or the internet. that's how you really get rid of bitcoin. glad it will never happen, so we don't have to worry about that.
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: March 11, 2016, 12:49:41 PM
Paypal is more widely available, although Bitcoin is my preferred payment method.  Smiley

paypal is  better for online shopping then bitcoin, and bitcoin is excellent for storing it and gain profit when the price increase.. paypal is being used more then bitcoin in online markets and shops so paypal is good for shopping and bitcoing is good for other use like trading and storing.

what you say doesn't make a lot sense. actually, (my non biased point of view) i find bitcoin to work equally as good as paypal when it comes to online shopping. paypal is definitely not better. only paypal is offering the buyer great support when it comes to charging back their money. it leaves the sellers with a loss as they most likely will never get the sold product back. with paypal there is always a chance that your balance gets freezed for no reason. it happened to a lot people before and will continue to happen. bitcoin is a great tool to be used as a currency, investment, store of wealth and so on.
1670  Other / Archival / Re: Should we sell btc? on: March 11, 2016, 12:36:29 PM
it is time to buy bitcoin, not to sell.
recently bitcoin has proven that nothing is going to shake it up and it is continuing strongly on its path towards higher prices and more adoption.

Atleast last week we are given the chance to buy in a bit lower price, and it seems like that bitcoin is really strong this time when it came back at $400, if this continues to be like this, I suggest that we should buy now, as the last low dip last week  might be the new floor..

I think the $400 will be the new floor. When the price drops, it rarely drop below that level for too long. The price will just bounce back.

even now we are advancing to the $420 levels, the support for $400 is still very weak. right now the price is $421 but it only takes around 765btc to dump the price to $405, and after that bots and traders will pull back their buy orders. then it's just a matter of another of 500-1000btc to get the price below $400 again. so, the $400 level is definitely not the floor.
1671  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: March 11, 2016, 12:27:04 PM
I will say 20% gold and 80% bitcoin. Gold is just a hedge against inflation, it will not rise in value in real terms.

It depends, Gold is being seen as safe haven by some people. Especially now people only receive around 0.5-0.7% interest on their savings accounts.  People are looking for ways to spread their money. Gold is very popular in that aspect.

yeah but it's not going to have the potential for skyrocketing like bitcoin can have in the future, at best it can reach again its prime($2k)

the marketcap of gold is already so big that i don't see any real improvement for the long term
I would say that the "real improvement" term is actually suitable for Gold and definitely not to any crypto currency. The fake pumps might be profitable to the people and might also be good for the coin but is obviously pre-planned.

Even if bitcoin doubles or triples its price, there could be some whales who can destroy any time they want which isn't possible for Gold.Stability is way too important than pumps. If its savings then i would invest more towards stable stuff.

indeed, no matter how high the bitcoin price is, whales/early adopters can change that within a few minutes. the higher the price is, the weaker the support gets. for example: right now if you support the price with a $1,000,000 buy order, which translates into around 2380btc, it will be a decent, but not very strong support. if the price is $2000, then the $1,000,000 buy order translates into 500btc, which can be sold through in a second. whales that keep holding their coins will end up getting even more control over the price than they have now.
1672  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 Bitcoin Predictions on: March 11, 2016, 12:04:18 PM
price rise up to 600$, but not to 1000$ like everyone likes to say, halving should increase price by 100$ or maybe even 200$

this may be true
but i expect something like back in 2013 bigger price change after halving dont expect much when halving comes

I feel something like 2013 will happen again. The time is good for bitcoin. FInancial markets are in distress and investors demand ROI.
On way or they other they eventually will find bitcoin and them buying in would be very very good.

back then it was mtgox creating the huge loads of volumes and the insane all time high peak. i hope it won't happen like that again. it's nice to have a high peak where a lot people can profit from, but it's only a matter of time before that peak vanishes into thin air. i want a durable growth. let it take a few extra years to reach a new high, no problem. slow and stable growth is what i am hoping for.
1673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Unable to break $400 on: March 10, 2016, 01:38:05 PM
The 400 dollar will not break this year in my opinion because this year is pretty good for use all, the point is also that more people are investing now.
Another reason why it won't break is because of the halving that is coming this year, I think it will hold it near the 400-450 dollar till the halving.

the $400 price level has been broken several times this year. and who knows it might happen again. we are only a few bucks away from going to sub $400 prices.

The price has already crossed the $400. Only for few days the price was below $400.
We are only few bucks away from Sub $400 but this time it won't go down.

as i said earlier and you too. the price is just a few bucks away from going below $400. how can you say that it won't go below $400 again? a whale can take us there with a single dump.
1674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 (within a month?) on: March 10, 2016, 01:33:36 PM
It isn't going to be long the Bitcoin will reach those prices. I don't think it's going to be a month, but one day most definitely. There was a lot of hype in 2013, but I'm sure it's going to that value soon enough.

Yeah, but lets be honest here.

We all had this talk since like forever?? lol. Im not pessimistic on the whole price journey, it just simples absurd to think that far when we cant see minimum $500 let alone hold for awhile unless it does.

rookie people don't look at that. they just yolo buy 0.2btc and dream about the price reaching the $1000 level and higher. they don't understand that it takes time and a lot demand to come even close to $1000. you said it well. there is no need to think in prices of $1000 and higher while we can't even break through $500. and even if we break through $500, then still that price can't be maintained for long at the beginning. common sense is what a lot people here are lacking.
1675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I crazy or is running a shit load of classic nodes on amazanaws.com dumb on: March 10, 2016, 12:43:18 PM
well, btcchina has hosted 100 (maybe even more) core nodes on the amazon platform. their plan was to make sure the network keeps staying "decentralized" with their nodes. it justs shows that all sides are using a certain platform to host plenty of nodes.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: March 10, 2016, 12:33:45 PM
It will be foolish to think that creation which can be used to do evil deeds won't be used by some people exactly for that purpose.
Bitcoin is no exception here, it is a tool. Money can be used to buy drugs, weapon and to kill others. And bitcoin is money.

bitcoin is indeed the same as fiat in terms of being usable to buy drugs or to scam people. however, the media only point their dirty finger at bitcoin when some bad news pops up. bitcoin receives all the blame while nothing in the world can describe how many bad things people do with their fiat money. but that's not something you hear them talking about. it's only bitcoin that is being talked about negatively by the media. it's a shame.
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to hit $10,000? on: March 10, 2016, 12:04:42 PM
$10,000 is just not possible. there should be enough demand for it and even if everybody in the world accepts bitcoin then the price can't go that high.
even if we are going to get there, it is not going to happen any time soon.

higher adoption rate is nice, but won't translate directly in a much higher price. for that to happen we need institutional investors to come on board. right now they will never enter the market as they need a professional platform that can handle hundreds of millions of incomming fiat deposits without any problems. the gemini exchanges is targeting these institutional investors, but they totally seem to ignore that exchange. gemini isn't that different from any other bitcoin exchanges, and that's the main problem. without these institutional investors we won't see $10,000 ever.
1678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you ready to test $400? on: March 10, 2016, 11:51:09 AM
The $400 will be the medium bottom of the bitcoin price. The price might drop to the level very briefly, not very long.

380 or 400 is a current low. Which has been proven stable from the start of this year. but remember the long time low is still around 330.
which makes buying bitcoins still risky to me.

what "long time low" are you talking about? the current low for this year is slightly above the $350 price level. not sure where you get that $330 number from.
1679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to $ 400 soon? on: March 10, 2016, 11:46:45 AM
We all hope that it will rise soon. As you can see now, you can see that the price is a bit stable and that is quite good.
But everyone hopes that the price will rise for a long time and that will be good for those people who already has made an investment.
Indicators are showing bulls are coming in strong and my prediction bitcoin can reach $450 in this weeks.

can you tell me where you see the indicators that bulls are preparing for a nice ride up? the highest i think the price will go this week is $420 maybe $425 at most in the best case. there is still a chance that the price may go below $400 again as there is no real support above the $400 price level. it only takes around 1540btc to get the price at $399 on bitstamp.
1680  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the time of the rise of bitcoin? on: March 09, 2016, 03:07:34 PM
Just remember the elasticity. If the price is going down unnaturally, it is an indication that bitcoin spike is super near to happen.

all current market movements are very normal. i really don't see any indication that the price is about to rocket up. i think we will see the price stay between $390-$450 for another month or two. i am already happy if we manage to stay above the $400 price level.
