its not safe to keep your coins on the exchange, isnt it?
It is safe to keep coins on MasterXChange.  Those guys are totally cool.  I don't think there is any problem there.  But, you can use the DEx if you like.  No need to have a middleman or fees.  But the DEx isn't exactly user friendly yet.  Might take a while to figure it all out so you can trade there.

@masterxchange:
"Mastercoins withdrawals are subject to a 0.08 msc fee"
"Maidsafecoins withdrawals are subject to a 130 maid fee"
"Bitcoins withdrawals are subject to a 0.003 btc fee"
Don't withdraw them.  Keep them in your account and trade them later.

Or withdraw them, and pay .08MSC which is about 8$ on a $1000 profit.  So you argue nobody is taking the $1000 arbitrage because they'd like to avoid paying an $8 withdrawal fee?

I am not ready to buy that strategy.  I suspect there is more to it.
1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 21, 2014, 09:21:18 PM
On MasterXchange there is currently an offer of 400 MSC for .17.  I find this strange.

Tomorrow one will be able to buy MaidSafe for either BTC or MSC.
Since the rate is fixed, you will pay either 1/17000 BTC or 1/3400MSC per MaidSafeCoin.

So, if you want to save money you can buy the underpriced MSC now @ .17 and spend them tomorrow to buy MaidSafe to profit 400*.03 or 12 MSC.  That is about equal to $1000.

Why are people leaving $1,000 on the table?  It seems to me there is a 100% chance of the event occurring as planned.  In that case, MSC should be priced at about .1999999 today.  However, it is still sitting way down at .17.  That is a very curious discrepancy.

Got any idea why this is happening?

1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: April 21, 2014, 07:40:17 PM

Now that Robby has shown everyone what he can do, he ought to beg Mastercoin for merge talks.  XCP isn't going to make it on its own.  Whatever is good and useful in that project could be ported over to Mastercoin and Robby can now contribute in a normal fashion along with other developers.  Of course, this isn't going to happen.

Robby wants to be the boss and tell everyone what to do.  Robby insists on a centralization scheme where he is the head. This is why counterparty exists - and this is why counterparty will die.

Having worked closely with Robby over the last few months I can assure you that this is not the case.

Well Robby did try to tell Master Protocol all that was wrong with how they were running things.  He tried to get them to take him on as lead developer so he could organize future development.  Master Foundation told him to take a hike.

So he did.  Then he forked Mastercoin.  Started CounterParty. Put in place a few nice tools which look good.  But XCP is worth 4 million and MSC is worth >$45 million.  CounterParty is sinking more each day.  Robby made loads of waves with the bitcoin core devs crying about OP_Return.

CP is in big trouble.  Doubt it can go on much longer.

I think Mastercoin devs ought to look through CP code and take the good bits and leave the rest for waste.  They don't need Robby and his attitude at all.  Maybe there are a few good modules which could be useful in advancing some Mastercoin functions.  But, they sure don't need an egoist telling everyone how to operate.

Robby doesn't know when to quit.  So we'll all see CP slip down the miserable slope of slow death.  Maybe it will last another year max.

In the meantime, isn't Master Protocol going to launch another project right after MaidSafe is complete?

1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: April 21, 2014, 05:00:06 PM
At just over 2 cents a piece I think there's still plenty of time and upside for NXT if you're a fan.
NXT keeps sinking further down.  Down, down, down.
1706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: April 21, 2014, 03:06:11 PM
When is IPO?

Everybody is asking this question. As I know that they are currently investigating the IPO process and doing some tests.
They should use the MasterProtocol to do this most efficiently at an early date.  If they wait for their own token, could be too many months away.  Don't delay.
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 21, 2014, 03:04:10 PM
I had read the Whitepapers. This system is amazing! I will funding it!
Yep, same for me.  It is an incredible idea.  Might take a few years to get running well, but is sure is cool.  I am all in.  I can't get any more cheap MSC to send, but I'll take anything less than .2 to buy in deeper.
1708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Safecoin maidsafecoin on: April 21, 2014, 03:01:43 PM
As long as maidsafe don't agree with me that the whole thing makes no sense I may as well buy back in myself!
Holy shit!  You are a slow learner.  Did you want to give me an apology too?  ...now that you are back in.

Listen, these MasterProtocol guys are REALLY careful and honest.  JR is about the most honest straightforward guy I 've met in Crypto.  He really cares to do things well.  Johnson is similarly a very straight shooter.  If you want to find a scam, don't bother looking here.  These guys are serious for the very long term.  They are building some complex shit.  Not perfect yet, but it will have some serious performance one day and today these smart properties are a little less than perfectly organized.  However, sham is not in their methodology.

1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: INFORMATION ABOUT SAFECOIN / MADESAFE on: April 21, 2014, 02:46:18 PM
Thanks, I know you need to launch testnets.  When is the first testnet expected to launch?  How many testnets are expected?  All of these are estimates, and what are the target dates?
Next few weeks, maybe three tests maybe six weeks each. Maybe less or more though, we can not tell till we are past testnet 1. This is my best estimate though.
OK - this is good news.  I think MaidSafe is going to radically change the Internet.  Please hurry. Smiley
1710  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 21, 2014, 02:35:05 PM
The render may be misleading. SP30 will have 80mm fans
Is there anything else 'misleading' that we should know about?  The more things the manufacture 'misleads' me on, the more plans I have to discard and start over.  Would any of the other things you are misleading your customers on have the word 'August' in there?

1711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safecoin? on: April 20, 2014, 02:46:38 PM
At this stage it looks like a more elaborate IPO scam...errr... I mean IPO coin.

Edit

If this is a legit project then it will be interesting. We will see.
Does the MaidSafe network look like a scam?
1712  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Special Group Buy - Spondoolies-Tech SP30 pre-order] ***EASTER WEEK SALE*** on: April 20, 2014, 02:45:06 PM

If they donīt deliver a product then you will be entitled your money back, fraud protection law covers you there.
The most naïve person on the planet.  What are you going to do to enforce these laws?  Are you going to travel to Gaza and hire a lawyer who will take these guys into court?

Hahahahha!

Ask the customers of Butterfly labs about your fraud protection law.  They'll be able to give you some pointers about relying upon such things.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Easter Egg disconnected? on: April 19, 2014, 08:05:19 PM
Last week, I got a reward of .05 bitcoin by clicking on the tiny secret smiley Smiley in the lower left corner of the MasterProtocol website: http://dev-www.mastercoin.org/

Do you know if that feature is broken?  Did it get disconnected?  Did the promotion run out?  I want you to turn that back on again.  I like free bitcoin Easter Eggs for Easter!!!
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: April 19, 2014, 07:29:27 PM
This maidsafe project looks epic gone all in on mastercoin, as they're fixing the price at 0.2 it's a pretty safe bet there will be a 30%+ increase within a week.  Cool
You missed a big part of that already.  Better get in now.  Buy at .14 today, sell at .21 on Friday.  I suspect by May we'll be seeing around .32.
1715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT coin - A total scam? on: April 19, 2014, 07:12:52 PM
At just over 2 cents a piece I think there's still plenty of time and upside for NXT if you're a fan.
NXT is 'dumped'.  At any price, it is going down, down, down.  Those guys missed the hype up - now it is done.  Shitty distribution by greedy founders will kill a coin very easily.  Gotta be more careful.  Nobody wants to buy something where the 'founders' have a pocket full of them just waiting to sell and buy a new Mercedes.  NXT doomed themselves, no matter if there is actually function under all that or not.  There is no fairness in that lottery/scam.

They missed it.

Btw, what coin did u invest into? Ur signature tells that u didn't invest into Bitcoin.
MaidSafe.  That is a cool new network idea.  It isn't a new coin.  It is a whole new network.  Think Dropbox decentralized style.
1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NAS v NXT v NXTL, some questions on: April 19, 2014, 06:13:40 PM
[1] Did the open source April NXT have all the crypto traps taken out, or did the NAS guy figure it out.

[2] was the dev who launched NAS the same that launched NXT? and does [1] if not true make this more likely

[3] Also can anyone explain how the POS for NXT avoids the need for checkpointing in its algo

[4] What are the differences between NAS/NXT & NXTL
There is no difference.  They are all a bloody mess.

well that was erudite
Yep.  That is a writing style I specialize in.  Check out my other posts.
1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: INFORMATION ABOUT SAFECOIN / MADESAFE on: April 19, 2014, 03:02:11 PM

So will be sold just 10% of all available coins.  So the devs are holding the 90%?
Nope - all of those will be mined. They belong to the network.
1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: INFORMATION ABOUT SAFECOIN / MADESAFE on: April 19, 2014, 02:11:43 PM
It's not a scam.  Whether or not it's a good investment is up to you to decide but if you are lumping this in the same category as EDGE and STACK, you are clueless.
It only takes about 2 minutes of reading to learn it is not even a tiny bit of a scam.  But most people here don't bother with research - they'd rather look at the pretty meme.  Widespread stupidity is the best friend of most of these altcoins.  A total inability to read and understand a project propels the dumbest coins the highest.

MaidSafe is a brilliant proposal with loads of effort behind it.  Whether or not they can get it going will be interesting, but it has potential.  My recommendation: buy.  But, this is a long term deal.  This is no high flying 'Blackcoin' going to the moon.  It will take about three years before you can become a billionaire on this system.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: INFORMATION ABOUT SAFECOIN / MADESAFE on: April 19, 2014, 02:06:52 PM
First ive heard about proof of resource coins.  It seems very interesting and launches in 3 days.

The 'fundraiser' starts in 3 days.  But it goes all month.  All you guy who complain that the distribution of Mastercoin, and the distribution of NXT was unfair, should take notice now.  Maidsafe is funding in a similar way where early investors are highly rewarded.  You've got to send your money now - or you won't be part of this initial layer.

MaidSafe is a very novel new proposed networkhttp://maidsafe.net/

It is not some 'new coin' like Doge or Black or Aurora.  It is an entire new network concept.  Nodes share resources (storage space and computing power).  With maidsafe, you'll have a huge disk drive in the 'cloud' just like DropBox but there with be no company like dropbox to pay.  The disk drive is implemented in the network - but just like bitcoin there is CEO, headquarters, no accounting department, and no billing.  However, there are shareholders - i.e. the people who hold the currency: SafeCoin.

Doesn't sound very exciting so far?  Well, think about this...
On the MaidSafe network one can implement an application too.  Imagine Facebook.  Everyone builds their personal profile and facebook timeline and pages.  Now, you don't like some data and want it removed, no problem.  Only you control the data. There is no company.  There are no ads.  And the NSA can't issue any subpoena to peek in.  The application is implemented in the network and there is 'company'. 100% user controlled.

The MaidSafe network connects many nodes having storage space and processing power to be shared by its users.  This system has some potential.

About 6 months from now we are going to hear a bunch of altcoin speculator crybabies complaining the distribution was unfair and all the whales got all the early coins.  Then, I am going to post a link to this page showing they were all fairly warned to buy in early from the beginning.
