1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The use of Bitcoin as a local currency! on: August 17, 2021, 12:14:23 AM
Everyone on the forum knows what Bitcoin is. We already know that many countries have removed this currency from the ban. I mean, will all the nations of the world use Bitcoin as a currency? How important will it be? It will not go to the good side to the bad side?I want to know the opinion-
Bitcoin right now? Not really. Imagine if all countries in the world made bitcoin a legal tender. This means people will starting investing and using it as a currency. This in turn will cause network congestion. And when that happens, you what's going to happen next. I am sure you have seen it. Absurd/insane transaction fee and very long waiting period for just one network confirmation. We need something better to overcome the current issue. If no solution is found, bitcoin can't be used as a regular day to day currency.
1702  Economy / Economics / Re: China - everything is fine! But everything is bad ... on: August 16, 2021, 07:23:21 PM
Maybe in another 10 years, China will be remembered as the country that once had the opportunity to have a monopoly in Bitcoin mining. They had the perfect conditions - most affordable mining equipment, low cost electricity and productive workforce.
Good thing they didn't have the "opportunity to monopolize bitcoin mining". We wouldn't want that to happen. Productive work force? What does that have to do with bitcoin mining?
But due to the stupidity of the government, the miners are moving their infrastructure to the neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan and Mongolia. And when global acceptance of Bitcoin happens, the Chinese government will regret about the lost opportunity they once had.
Good they are moving and the miners are spreading. I really doubt the Chinese government are going to regret when Bitcoin gets accepted globally. They will have their own currency. They won't be needing bitcoin. And they will be fine without it like they have been for ages. We shouldn't be worrying about them.
1703  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: stock between a Trade. on: August 15, 2021, 04:14:18 PM
Hello community of traders, am stock between the line, lately I have been trading in meme coins and have mastered some skills I developed. But this very moment am holding these meme coins and they both have done x price increase within the last few days and am thinking of converting all my portfolio to a less volatile crypto token and I don’t know which is the next big thing in the market to hold for some time?
Do it already now since you are in profit. Never hold those meme coins. They are made for only pumping and dumping. Once they are dumped, they won't get back up again. Keep holding, you will regret. Look at all of those other shitty meme coins. 99.9% of them are dead already. Convert them all to bitcoin or at least some other well known altcoins before its too late.
1704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anything make you stop gambling on: August 14, 2021, 11:44:59 AM
I have being gambling for quite a while now and  I don't think I'm addicted to it but nothing can make me stop gambling. Gambling is like a joy to me, it makes me happy and any time I tried to stop entirely, I would see my see going back to it.
You sound like a gambling addict. "Nothing can stop me from gambling" and "I don't think I am an addict" is exactly what an addict would say. Gambling doesn't bring you joy. This is what you want to believe so you can justify your gambling habits. Get help before it's too late.
Gambling is intoxicating and can give a great fortune if one is lucky and with the right fate.
Yeah, you have to be very lucky to make a bank. Unfortunately, the exact opposite happens for the most.
1705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About the popularity of Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 11:20:49 AM
Blind people fold their cash in different ways to distinguish the bills. In case of paying with bitcoin, there will be accessibility features for them. They would be using voice over and voice command. I am sure someone will build something and make it popular among the blind people. Have you heard of braille terminal? Maybe they will come up with a hardware wallet with a braille terminal?
In fact, for blind people, no one pays too much attention to their lives.
What makes you say that?
1706  Economy / Economics / Re: How to identify high-quality projects in the primary market? on: August 14, 2021, 12:51:46 AM
How to identify high-quality projects in the primary market?
1. The team background of the project,.whether the founding team members have other technical or operational backgrounds related to the blockchain icon project. You can learn about it through official white papers, official websites, communities, and other channels.
2. The investment institution of the project is extremely important. A good project seed will attract the participation of well-known institutions in the circle.
3. The technological innovation of the project, or a simple analogy of similar application projects.
1. You can literally write bullshits and no one will know. Don't just depend on the official white papers or the team. If never know if the team behind is fake or not unless they make themselves public.

2.Bitcoin or other well known altcoins few years ago didn't  have huge institutional investment. This doesn't mean those coins were bad.

3. Not sure what you meant by this. You mean have a use case that isn't already present? Then yeah, this is one of the most important factor over here!
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is more real than money in the Bank on: August 13, 2021, 07:20:46 PM
Bitcoin account is also a bank that has an easy approach to invest, trade, and withdraw. It had no limit of the border, It is a global currency and global trade and business. If all countries of the world implement a good system of taxation combinedly on bitcoin and solve its all legal issue, drawback. It will be a better step for humanity. It will promote the circulation of money and banking.
What do you mean by a "bitcoin account"? There is no such thing as a bitcoin account. If you are talking about a wallet, no bitcoin wallets are not a bank account. If you tried to learn about bitcoin, you would have already known that. Your coins aren't stored on your wallet. It is stored on the bitcoin network (blockchain) and you used your wallet (private keys) to access them. By bitcoin account, if you mean an exchange, then stop using an exchange as an wallet. Invest, trade and then withdraw to an external wallet where you control the private keys. And no, we don't want a "globally combined taxation" system.
1708  Economy / Economics / Re: Why would people ever use bitcoin if its expected to always go up? on: August 13, 2021, 07:06:48 PM
I couldn't put the full title in the subject line due to character restrictions, but here is the full question:
If bitcoin was fully adopted into everyday life, why would it ever be used for day-to-day transactions if the general consensus was that the price would always appreciate?

After reading several posts on this forum many people seem to think that Bitcoin will always go up. If this were to be the case, why would people spend Bitcoin at all? In this theoretical time, wouldn't it just be a poor financial decision to do?

Or is it thought that in this future where there is widespread adoption the price would stop being so volatile and for the most part stabilize?
And this is what is happening right now. People are just holding it because they hope that the price will keep on increasing. Some are using the volatility as an advantage to make quick profit. Less people are using it as a regular currency because of some issues that arise during high network usage such as very high transaction fees and confirmation waiting time. But I guess as the marketcap starts to grow bigger, the currency will become less and less volatile. We will eventually find a solution to all existing problems and hence start using it as a regular currency. Maybe after few years, but not now.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ideology of Bitcoin on: August 13, 2021, 05:13:55 PM
I stand to be corrected on this;
Without the interference of external forces (governments), bitcoin will last as long as humanity will exist.

See why I insinuate thus;
1. The volatility of bitcoin is a great feature that keeps it flourishing.
2. The volatility is induced by the act of buying and selling.
3. See the ideology; if bitcoin is on correction, there are millions of people seeing it as the best time to buy. Even if bitcoin crashes to $10,000 as many will be anguishing, some will also see it as a buying opportunity, hoping it will climb back to 40,000+.
-snip-
1.Isn't bitcoin and crypto currencies being very volatile one of the issues? Isn't it because of this volatility, most of the merchants or people are worried about accepting crypto currencies as a payment? Imagine receiving few thousand dollar and within seconds the value drops by 10%-15%. We have seen that happening a lot.

2. Wait for the market cap to grow even higher. We will see it become very less volatile Wink.

3. That's not an ideology of bitcoin....
Bitcoin will co-exist with humanity till infinity.
It might. It might not. We don't know what the future tech would be. Maybe we will be using something that has evolved from bitcoin.
1710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Becareful with Meme Coins on: August 13, 2021, 04:26:26 PM
I suspect that meme coin won't last long. I'm pretty sure it's popular because of the current high price of Doge. however, I'm thinking of sticking with safe coins instead. sometimes, coin memes go up because only a few people own it, and the price is very prone to dumping. I also had a meme coin a few months ago, but I sold it early because I thought it was very easy to dump.
The trend is already over. Most of the meme coins have already died. Few new shitty meme coins can be seen now and then, gets pumped, dies the next day. Anyone that invests on meme coin to get rich now are plain stupid. We have been seeing trends like this happening for years. As soon as the trend is over, almost 99% of those coin no longer recover from the crash. The current trend now is those game tokens or whatever you call them. See how insane the prices are going. I have a strong feeling they will also end up being worthless after few weeks.
1711  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 13, 2021, 02:41:13 PM
Those laws that are being passed is for making sure that people pay their taxes from crypto gains. The government doesn't even care as long as you give them a share of what they want. And bitcoin was never meant to be anonymous. I don't know why people keep on thinking that bitcoin is anonymous. Bitcoin was never made to keep you anonymous. Lets say you are making a purchase from a store and you made the payment with bitcoin. You are no longer anonymous. And the KYC is inevitable. It will happen no matter what.

I think many retail investors in the US are Robinhooder types that have a "Bitcoin go up - me buy!" mentality. They don't realize what the loss of utility from anonymous P2P

This is what it has become now. A store of value.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: August 12, 2021, 10:19:14 PM
Yes, there is something called "excess gambling". This is when people keep on gambling and avoid their main responsibilities. Anything excess isn't good for anyone. You eat too much, its not good. You drink too much, its bad. You work too much. Not good for your health at all. In the same way, gamble too much even if you can afford, its going to affect your life negatively. You should keep this in mind, any kind of addiction can kill anyone.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers returns huge money stolen in biggest crypto heist on: August 12, 2021, 04:53:09 PM
I think the hacker is already rich and only playing a game to make him famous. Or yet he figured out his gonna having a hard time to fully withdraw the funds since everyone is monitoring the wallet his gonna used. But this is easy for a hacker like him but still settle to return it.

Im sure polynetwork will give something or reward to him for such action. Some say its a very childish act and some hackers are also commending his action. Anyway good that he will return it anyway.
Lol the last thing the hacker would want to do is "make himself famous". He released several QAs in which he mentions that we doesn't want to expose himself (was concerned about his safety). Not sure why everyone over here is calling him childish. He did it for "fun". A challenge is fun for him. He said he did it to show others how vulnerable the network is. He had a good point too. If someone from inside knew about the bug, they could have easily exploit it. If he actually returns all the funds, we can confirm his intentions were never evil.
1714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I start trading? on: August 12, 2021, 04:29:41 PM
Hello everyone, I just got introduced into crypto by a friend and would like to know how do I go about doing it. Have went through lots of tutorials from different places but did not quite understand how to use them and what to see. That's when I thought a forum would be the next best place to place such a question.
Choose your platform. Learn about it and get used to it. Start trading over there. Just going through articles or tutorials won't help you understand or learn how to trade. Start with something small. You will make a lot of mistakes and highly likely you won't be making any profit. Don't give up. Just keep doing it while learning from those mistakes. Eventually you will understand how the market works. Experience is all what you need over here.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Is Gambling Seen As An Irresponsible Act In Some Society on: August 12, 2021, 04:06:14 PM
I have been wondering lately why people who gamble are often seen as irresponsible people and are sometimes arrested, a few weeks ago in my neighborhood so many young men were arrested in a gambling house for no reason and the police keep raiding casino houses But to my surprise gambling or playing bet is not an illegal activity in my country.

could it be that the police are just abusing gambler on their fundamental right or there is something am not aware of?
It's seen as irresponsible if that person isn't financially wealthy or can't afford to the losses. I don't think anyone would care if a rich guy gambles. I guess they are getting arrested because they are violating some laws. If its the casino that is getting shutdown, they probably are running an unlicensed casino illegally. If it's the people, I don't know why. Maybe they aren't paying the taxes or they are financing their gambling funds illegally or something like that?
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 12, 2021, 02:22:01 PM
Why would betting on Paralympic games be unethical? If it is okay to bet on all other games/events, why is this any different betting here? Just because it is the game for the disabled people? But don't they all want to be treated equally? I don't think they would mind or feel offended if anyone bets on their games. In fact it should make them feel better because we think that their games are worth betting on, right?
1717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why be allowed to create tokens with the same names? on: August 11, 2021, 08:51:00 PM
Very disappointing! I wonder why there are so many tokens with the same names on the blockchain network, I have seen so many scammers take advantage of new projects by creating a scam token using those new project names! Many people have already lost money because of this trick [mostly beginners]. If a new project creates its own token and becomes popular, scammers will create a fake token using the original name of the new project! So if beginners do not know how to do in-depth research then it will be easier for them to lose their money by buying fake tokens.

The creators of these blockchain networks have used great knowledge to create these technologies and so far they work perfectly, so why not make an effort to improve them so that they can limit only one name for new tokens to avoid fraud? I think if they can do that it will also help add value to the new project because scammers will no longer have the opportunity to create a fake token using the details of the new one.

What are your thoughts on this?
Some altcoins have similar name because they are created from a fork. But still, yeah shit fork with shitty features stealing the same names. Others are made just to scam people. Most of the altcoins that are complete clones of other coins are shitcoins. But if someone falls for the scam or invests in the wrong token, then he sadly deserves to lose everything. He probably invested to get rich quick. If he probably had intentions to make long term and reliable investments, he would have done proper research and avoid those shitcoins.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can you combat market gloom? on: August 11, 2021, 07:33:07 PM
When my TA fails and the market enters a bear phase, I find it tough to cope with the market. Although I find it difficult to sell or choose to hold, I have found that the majority of the tokens I have do not change when I sell. Changes took place. I honestly have no idea why.
Please tell us how you handle market conditions and feelings.
You just have to accept your loss and move on. If you didn't make any loss but worried about the crash, then zoom out the charts and you will see that the price has been increasing in the long run. You will also notice how the market dips and then gets back to a new ATH. This will give you some hope when holding your coins. If you see that the price keeps on increasing every time you sell, then you are probably not holding long enough to reach your profit goal. Learn from the mistakes!
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: some people uneducate about Bitcoins on: August 11, 2021, 04:57:16 PM
-snip-

1. Lack of knowledge about Bitcoins, uneducate People only saw the negative sides of Bitcoins.
2. Some of them say negative feedback because of their experience on some sites about Bitcoins,  because now a days Bitcoin are popular but there are many site will scam you if you are spontaneous to invest in not trusted sites.

1. They are following the wrong media. I am pretty much sure those people that "saw the negative sides of bitcoin" are the ones that read random articles posted on facebook and twitter. They gave little to no effort to understand or verify the claims made by those articles.

2.Lol, if they fall for those stupid scams and then start calling bitcoin a scam without learning from their mistakes, then they should never enter the crypto market.
1720  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we say the creation of Bitcoin is an Internet of value? on: August 11, 2021, 04:38:50 PM
It's the first time I have heard of the term Internet of Value. Did a little reading about it and got to know what it is. Bitcoin can be said that it's an internet of value, but there are some points that seem very contradicting. Things that are internet of value has properties like being able to transfer almost instantly, securely and at low cost. But we seem to be missing all those properties when the bitcoin network is under heavy usage. We see slow confirmation time and absurd fees. So is Bitcoin really an internet of value?
