1721  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency do you have the most faith in the long term? on: January 07, 2015, 10:19:55 PM
The results of this poll are more surprising to me than i thought although i do somewhat agree with the results so far.

Interesting that there appears to be little interest in Ethereum, will be interesting to see what comes out of it.

1723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocurrency do you have the most faith in the long term? on: January 06, 2015, 10:41:45 AM
The only one I have faith in now is bitcoin. I bought into a few alts when I started but they all failed me and was left dissapointed with the false promises and hype. Now I only think bitcoin has a future.

Well i would have thought the same, but i think there is room for others.

I do agree that alot have been pumped and then dumped by speculators, alot have no innovation.
Coins such as namecoin do actually serve a useful purpose, so its safe to say that these will be around in the future.

Dont really know what will happen with Litecoin, there are lots more options for investors now, i dont think that POW coins are sustainable in the long term either, too much computing power and electricity being consumed, i can see that mining BTC will be unprofitable if it declines much more.

Ive mainly included the well known ones here and some of the bigger players in 2.0 currencies etc.

Ill add anything else you suggest below, and yes ive added some that i feel are doomed for failure, but know there is lots of support.

Another story that really damages crypto's reputation:

http://www.theverge.com/2015/1/5/7496825/someone-stole-5-million-from-a-major-bitcoin-exchange

There really needs to be a solution to these exchanges. These thefts do no favors to the public image of crypto.

its called night trader! Grin

It's a while ago that i reading stuff about silk.
When i buy around a half year ago i liked this coin very much.

Before i set a buy-order i have a question. (reading 100 pages is a lot  Tongue)

Are there future plans for this coin and can somebody subscribe what kind of plans?

There is some exciting upcoming plans but we dont want to make too much public at this stage (in case others steal our ideas/technologies)

Wish i had a time machine so i could go into the future and know what coin(s) to invest in! lol
1732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin(s) will prevail? on: December 26, 2014, 11:55:06 PM
imo there are no 2.0 cryptos, nxt etc certainly are no improvement on btc when it comes to mass adoption. added to that nxt started with such bad distribution it'll never be fully accepted by the crypto community let alone the general public (and thats without even expressing how insecure it is or the dev replacing himself scam, though admittedly I know nothin of how nxt situation currently is nor do I care).

ltc impresses me more each time, especially not playing the lets panic and add some phoney 'innovation' to pump the value.

ltc out of the alts will hold number 2 if not take out number 1 imo, and this comes from one of the largest ltc trolls (of the past).

besides all the hash, ltc is shit and everyone knows it lol.

if its so shit why does it have all the hash, greatest trade vol of all the alts.....face it its the default alt, and the most accepted. only people backing/pumping their lastest flavor of the day think otherwise and spread all the fud.

ltc has more going for it then any crypto, no anon dev, not created to profit dev, no pump n dump scam, sticks to the trustless system not changing fundamentals on a panic whim.

staying number 1 alt for a reason. the big money flows too it, not this childrens pocket money like most the alts.

Because it is the oldest alt and has been around longer than any other alt for a start - thats why its got a higher volume, because it has been around longer and had more exposure.

There is nothing unique about LTC to make me invest in it.
Its basically BTC with a higher amount of coins and SCRYPT mining and a shorter confirmation time.
Mainly being dumped by many into BTC in its early days.
1733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple about to become the next kingmaker? on: December 26, 2014, 10:29:58 PM
Interesting to see its still climbing though, it cant go for much longer.
1734  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Coinye (COYE) is still alive! It is back now! on: December 24, 2014, 12:13:35 AM
Why does the Koin logo not have shutter shades anymore?
There is nothing wrong with these shutter glasses and they were around well before Kanye west was ever born!
So dont think that he can sue anyone on these grounds!

word! shutter sunglasses ftw Cool

Yeah but nowhere does the logo even say that they are "shutter" brand glasses lol

... becauze there iz no "shutter brand" glasses Grin

this gonna get wordy here, design: sugg would be to have the shuter glass back on the new coin logo. coye needs something better then that caricature of coin on the front page. the first logo was real good, problem was ... we all know who. the update should have kept just shutter glasses. but then [they] changed it to the literal gay fish to make it even more obvious its not that or ref to mr whatever his name is and that is parody. i say nuke the gay fish for now, keep it around as the coinye's mascot the gay fish. for coin make it simple, just shutter glass, word coinye and or [COYE] so yea, keep it simple black & yellow, gold - what u guys think ?

I tend to agree.
I say keep the shutter shades as the main feature in the logo, they are NOT his IP no matter what he says, from what i gather, he had his own "shutter" glasses specially made for him with a unique design, but these glasses have been long around before he was born. They were popular in the 70's and 80's and you can get them at supermarkets and $2 shops, so perhaps west should go after all the retailers making and selling these glasses?

Lets face it, this coin is already dead!
1736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which Altcoin(s) will prevail? on: December 23, 2014, 11:52:13 PM
I was going to make this a poll, but thought open discussion would be better.

I dont consider 2.0 currencies such as NXT or NEM as a true altcoin, since they are rebuilt from the ground up, however i will include these in the discussion, as i feel such currencies have far more market potential than the majority of altcoins in windows Qt.

Also when i say "prevail" this doesnt necessarily mean that they will hit #1 in market cap, more like being in #2 or #3 to bitcoin.

In another 5 years how many coins will have survived?
Will the good, the bad and the ugly be finally sorted out?

I can see Dogecoin being around for some time, but am unsure of its future.
Any anon coins could very well be a thing of the past with technologies such as night trader and black halo coming to the surface.

Im guessing NXT has a very high chance of getting to #2 and staying there, i dont think litecoin will ever get back to the all time high it had 12 months ago and people will move their investments into coins that have more potential.

Any thoughts?

IDK where Ethereum and Qora will stand in the future.
1737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the story with paycoin? on: December 23, 2014, 07:56:04 PM
Are you talking about XPY here? Where did you get this chart? XPY wasn't even trading on December 8. (started on the 16th).
The price is 0.036 BTC
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/paycoin2/

Yeah, but whats odd is i cant see it on the CMC charts anymore.
What position is it currently at? It was around #3 the other day.
1738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats the story with paycoin? on: December 23, 2014, 05:06:18 AM
Is there anything more unique with this coin than the multitude of other altcoins currently out there?
I have never really heard anything about this coin until i all of a sudden see it up the top of CMC this morning.
I see a dump coming.
Whats the whole story with this bobsurplus thing? Is this another scamcoin?

Bob involved in this thing?
From what ive been reading on various posts, it suggests this is true.
1739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2015 and WHY on: December 23, 2014, 12:46:57 AM
Ive said it before and ill say it again, NXT all the way.

Silkcoin is a good one to watch too.
