801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you ride an obvious pump? on: July 14, 2016, 03:39:33 AM
My question is are the clever ones just buying various coins when low and selling on pumps?
Or do most just HODL and sell in the long term?

I could have made$$$$ if i bought and sold on the highs with many projects, but its easy to say that when you cant always predict the markets.

I like to avoid anything where its just pumped and dumped in cycles as im only really interested in long term investment, but i can see how many must make alot of money with the price swings on the many shitcoins without really showing any genuine interest in the projects.

I had traded quite a few private messages with Brock Holzer, and Dr. Kimoto back in the day. I have the greatest respect for both of these guys, but I'm relatively sure your conclusion is wrong.
Brock certainly has coding talent, but I don't believe he was the force behind Megacoin. He was just as upset with Kimoto not bringing code to the table as anyone. Again, I had many private conversations with him. Kimoto is one of the most private individuals you will find, but I also traded some private emails with him. He helped me out big time, and I feel very safe to say that these guys are not the same person.
I have gone through my email many times, and they both have a complete different style. Both super intelligent, but not the same.

Good try though...  Smiley

VTR you are a nice guy and i know you know your stuff.  please don't be blinded by your attachment to MEGA and kimoto.  it's fine and all you trade the coin and no reason to not keep doing so for mega.  it's good at least fat-boy kim dotcom has taken a strong backing with it from years ago, but dev wise it's not gonna go anywhere anytime soon unless something major is done.  sorry to say, you're wrong.  they ARE the same guy.  at least my knowledge/proof shows a VERY VERY STRONG possibility this is the truth as everything (even the timing) lines up perfectly.

bholzer was early into crypto-alts before it turned into the shit show we know today and before most ppl on this forum, he had some friends trust me.  hence why he left since alts went to hell.  look at how ironically his posts also match for where/when and the amount he "cared" about mega at the time, also his great knowledge of it/etc. and then poof, done...just like kimoto.  HE IS KIMOTO.  a nicely made up shill to manipulate the first crypto masses for mega from the start.  he mined away on pre-launch which was a "fail" *(made up) - the shitty first "launch" of mega before the big real great launch (oh look after he mined all he wanted with buddies), then the hype and first pnd of it...who do you think was behind that?  bam, distribution of all the coins to everyone, he make big coin and just carries along a slow death of false promises as "dr. kimoto chan" lol.  laughable name actually.  shit, tell me how many "dr's" you know in crypto with japanese first name but chinese last name!?  REALLY??

he did pnd before it was fashion and before anyone here knew what it was lol.  it wasn't called that back then...but hey, he made his money and ran his own side biz in real life...thus no need to "bother" with mega, nor octo or murraycoin.  anyways that's just a gist of the info...take it FWIW.  things go a lot deeper down the rabbit hole Wink -  i guess it's a moot point now since his projects are long dead now.  but fuck it, ppl should at least get some closure.  sure many may not believe...but that's because well, not many even (would) know.

Now if Bholzer was kimoto, that would really explain a lot! lol

Anyone care to explain what is going with steem coin?
Barely 30 pages and somehow the coin is 100+ million? Wtf? Seriously?

I bring it up because trolls come here and fud NEM for having a natural growth cycle, yet scams like steem (bloggin for mining wtf?) don't get called out.

I laugh how people thought NEM was a pump, this steem pump is nothing compared to that!
It has to crash surley, alot will be burned. Basically its hyped up because of their social network that pays posters in the currency every time someone likes their post! lol
804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 13, 2016, 10:30:05 PM
Profit depends on your costs. If you have monthly costs of $5 for renting a VPS where your NEM node is running, then you could be profitable by harvesting with 500k of NEM. But it also depends on your importance. Someone with a smaller amount of XEM and a high importance can be as successfully as someone with a higher amount of XEM and a lower importance.

How would someone with less XEM get higher or as high importance than someone with more XEM? What else counts?  NUmber of transactions?

yes thats pretty much it.
More transactions increases your importance score Smiley
This way it encourages people to use the network rather than just sit on coins.

Working fine for me (In New Zealand)

You might also want to add Steem.

Im not adding that hyped up scamcoin that the devs hold 80% of...

Have updated the poll and added Ardor.

Ardor. It takes the years of experimentation and stability of NXT and moves it to a business focus.
I expect its going to do better than NXT, but it will have alot of competition.

This is such awesome news, and to see real world adoption is a big deal, this will make NEM far more attractive in the coming months.  Smiley

Could you explain how this is good for XEM/NEM. (not being a D*%K, just asking)

And also...can anyone update on the mobile wallet app. hows that coming along?
Thanks in advance guys

To see this real world adoption with mijin proves the success of NEM technology and means that NEM has a big part to play in the crypto sphere.
I think they are in the final stages of developing the mobile wallet.

After Japan, what is NEM's next move? Will it find partnership's with companies in Europe next? I think that is a logical step because Asia and Europe are back doors to the USA.

Highly likely. The most recent news is outside Japan in Myanmar.  Smiley
NEM is starting to get more worldwide exposure, so expect to hear alot more in the coming weeks.

I see you are concentrating in Asia. Is the NEM team all from Asia?

No its not, infact i believe it first started in the USA, but more devs came on board (including Makoto) from Japan and he has been devoting all his time to promoting it and making partnerships in Japan, so naturally it has been making more news there because there has been more marketing in that country.

815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: July 11, 2016, 11:51:45 PM
What is in your opinion the best altcoin to invest in for 2016 and why. Pls add why folks.  Cheesy

I'm still in Primecoin XPM, CryptoBullion CBX, and Horizon HZ for longterm. Those have solid reputation and a good base for growth.

*** I do not recommend to invest in any mentioned coins without proper research, how it was launched, how it developed, community involvement, stamina, price history and volume, etc. So do your homework cause you're the only one responsible for your funds.

I think for 2016 XEM is good alt coin to invest, but it is your duty to study how does this Alt coin grows and how XEM run. in my own opinion and research Xem is a good alt coin to invest. NEM will soon launching the XEM wallet app. try to study and research more.  and you and only you can answer where so you like to put your funds to gamble. Smiley
I think its risky to invest your money in not well known altcoin because it can be the same as other shitcoin if you invest.. unlike old altcoin that until now they are still alive.. and its already widely use buy someone..

NEM is more than 2 years old, i dont know why more people dont know about it, there was tons of stuff talked about it here leading up to its launch. NEM has far exceeded my expectations and there is more and more real world adoption happening with its technology.

Any ideas as to when nem will hit 0.01 usd per nem. Please advise?

It already did last week!

It will return to that again not before long Smiley

Its $1 we are aiming for. Think big!!

Quite possible within the next 5 years.
BTW...
I harvested the largest block so far, 300 XEM!  Grin

I got one Block with 1200 back in April, that was nice!

That is nice! What is the maximum amount you can earn from a single block?

How long did it took you to harvest 300 Xem? What was your initial XEM amount on your wallet?

Ive had the original amount from a single NEM stake of 2.25 million.
Ive had it harvesting for months, but with the high volume we have had, the harvesting has been better, i saw this harvested block yesterday, so it takes some time to harvest a good amount, but on average, its usually around 400-500 XEM every 25 blocks for me. My importance score has slightly dropped also, its around 2.8%
