It wouldn't be ironic, by definition. But it would be very, very interesting...and perhaps typical (if you believe in some conspiracy theory stuff.)

Thanks for the responses so far.
I'm still looking for the answer to my question.
More clearly, how long (on average...just an educated guess) does it take to achieve on blockchain award (of 25 BTC)?

I like it, there's a lot of links and it's VERY clean looking.
How did you get the name "Bitcoin 21"?

Lose your signature ad!
A fall in price might do it too.

Don't let the Silicon Valley investor talk fool you into thinking this is a guaranteed win. Let's see what they actually decide to do, how they make money, and how good they are at it.

No, ask China, it's very much real.

It's the demand for things that enslaves people to money.
Banks make money to...well...to make money, not to dilute the wealth of others! If I borrow money to buy a home or an education it likely increases my wealth. I only dilute my wealth if I make bad money decisions or fall to the risk I've decided to take.

These guys are smart! This is the kind of news I've been looking for, seeing bitcoin genuinely benefit developing nations, the world's poorest folks. That's the best part of capitalism...no one is automatically excluded for any reason.
Seriously, if there's a will there's a way. That's capitalism...Bitcoin is a beautiful example.

Is that where Casascius got the image for the heads side of his coins (or is the tails side)?

So, this isn't a self serving question, just curiosity.
What's going to get you to 25 BTC faster, mining or dedication to a signature campaign with a high rank (Sr Member or Hero)?
Maybe the better question is how long does it take for a miner to get their first block reward (of 25 BTC)? I can figure out the breakeven on the sig campaigns.
Based on your timing guess, how much equipment investment is required?

Dude, if you can't find it in the searches it's NOT a newbie question.
Good luck to you, hope you find your answers.

I think that has yet to be determined.
Capitalism can last forever, because it's most similar to the laws of nature...survival of the fittest.
The question is whether innovation will continue fast enough to provide the majority with jobs or if the people without jobs will grow faster, thus calling for social assistance and turning capitalism into socialism.

Discrimination against a protected class is a very sticky issue. I think this is a business risk move by Planet Fitness. They're deciding that the woman making the complaint is much less likely to sue than the transgender woman (and attorney's are much less likely to take that side of the case...there's no press in it!)
Sucks. It's way fucked up that a DUDE can get dressed in the WOMAN'S room and not have reprucussions.

It sucks that Apple would be the organization penalized because of the CIA's actions. Why do you say "don't do business with the company" when the company is the victim?! How about instead of penalizing the business you protest the organization trying to exploit the business?
Don't damn the enterprising folks because of the man.

IT's cool that Peter is an investor in 21, it's a problem that 21 is hiding what the fuck it's operations actually are. There's a lot of money in the (Silicon) Valley, so it's not such a "sure thing" just because they've gotten investor money. Additionally, getting investor money without clear operations and a plan to generate revenue reeks of a dot com bubble kind of move.
Don't get me wrong, I hope all works out for the best but let's not get to excited yet.

This is not automatically "great news" as the OP says.
There's a problem when the article doesn't talk about what the business does. There's a bigger problem when the company itself is trying to keep it's purpose and business a secret from the market. There's a lot of money in Silicon Valley, this seems like a "flyer play" don't get too excited unless 21 has a real operation to offer us, transactions in bitcoin of course.

What news? Can you share the link or summarize what happened?
If Peter Thiel is talking positive about BTC, it's a VERY good thing.

Alex Jones certainly seems to think so: 2015: Year Of The Collapse?http://youtu.be/AO7cM2DN1yUBut he would wouldn't he? He likes to spread a lot of fear. In fact he makes a business off of it (I think he'd like this forum ). Personally I don't think it will happen this year but I think were due another eventually. No on should be citing Alex Jones for anything. This guy makes wild claims in the absence of robust fact...he's an illusionist.
