1741  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitupper BTC Block Explorer | SegWit support (bech32) on: October 25, 2018, 08:12:35 PM
Besides the lack of chronological order, there's no options to sort transactions by amount received or sent, which is a useful feature that I see isn't implemented here. I've been looking for a bech32 BTC blockchain explorer for some time, and I'll likely use this until other platforms upgrade their services to read bech32 addresses, but this is an issue I see straight off the bat.

On the topic of transaction ordering again, it seems there are some streaks of properly ordered transactions, then the next few will be nearly random dates.
1742  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to pick a trading platform? on: October 25, 2018, 07:29:03 PM
I typically try using exchanges that have decent volume, don't require KYC (though I can live with submitting documents, I don't like to do KYC), and also have good support in case there's ever an event where funds happen to be stuck in limbo or something's gone wrong on an exchange. For these reasons, I do a lot of my trading on Binance. Note that some people have reportedly been asked for KYC on the site, so be ready to submit KYC documents if you're chosen as one of the people to verify yourself for whatever reason.

I tend to avoid Yobit as there's been lots of reports of lost funds and wallets being in maintenance for months at a time here. The site is very fishy overall, with their investbox that resembles a ponzi, and I would not recommend trading on Yobit as a result of this.
1743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD RX 670 | RX 680 12nm Speculations on: October 25, 2018, 01:13:16 PM
It seems likely that the RX 590 will feature the same GDDR5 memory as the 580 and the same memory speed as the 580 according to this Digital Trends article, with just a bump in core memory speed, so the card should have just a very minor bump in mining speed or basically the same hashrate as the 580 on memory intensive algorithms as some have said here. Can’t wait to see how the 600 series does in mining.
1744  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Knowledge needed for the trader wants to become professional on: October 25, 2018, 01:02:25 PM
Yes,  beside knowledge we should be also discipline to follow all trading plan. Without discipline, all skill and knowledge that we have will be not usefull in trading. Other thing is avoid greedy and FOMO,  because there are always top and bottom price.
Actually, when it comes to trading, having knowledge is one thing, and how you are able to apply the knowledge based on experience is another thing. The issue is that most people rush through learning and practice and they are just looking for quick means or are so much in a haste to start making money and in that case, it would be hard to even be able to put anything you have learned to good use.

It is imperative to at least find a way to practice, build on a plan and strategy, gain confidence in it and stick with it. Most traders these days are not consistent, but of course how can you be consistent with your trading strategy when you are rushing to do things?

I absolutely agree. It’s much easier to gain knowledge than experience in trading, as there is plenty of material out there for you to study and read on trading in this digital era. You can have knowledge without experience, and as a result of this, it’s still possible for you to make critical mistakes that can result in a loss. This is why I suggest people trade with a smaller amount of money that he/she can afford to lose in the beginning, and to gradually increase this amount after time. This way, you’ll gain experience with minimal losses.
1745  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the best altcoin chart site? on: October 25, 2018, 02:22:24 AM
I like to use coinlib.io and coinpaprika.com to see recent charts for alts besides CMC. They both have similar setups to CMC and are just as easy to use. Out of the two, I personally prefer coinlib for the extra features that it offers over coinpaprika, and the site theme and layout generally goes better with my phone screen than coinpaprika's site.
1746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: High fees on some exchange! on: October 25, 2018, 01:19:24 AM
Fees are still fine for me, though I tend to consolidate all my funds into one or two withdrawals twice a month or so from the exchanges I use to minimize fees. Like adaseb said, exchanges raised their fees during the transaction count hike a few months back and didn't put fees back down for whatever reason, though if you only withdraw in medium-sized sums, fees should be under control.

The coinmarketcap top exchanges list doesn't list the respective fees of each exchange, and it's pretty well known which exchanges are most popular.
1747  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your #1 top trading resource? on: October 25, 2018, 12:57:06 AM
I mostly browse several sections on this forum, as I'm rather active on the weekdays here, and also /r/bitcoin. There's a trove of interesting information on there, and at times, I find that news get to Reddit quicker than it does to this forum. I used to browse /r/BTC in the past, but things have changed more towards Bitcoin Cash over in that subreddit. I often browse Reddit for other things like deals on mining hardware and such already, so I don't have to go far out of my way to view news on crypto on Reddit.

I also use Google every now and then, when there are articles related to crypto suggested to me on my phone, or when I search news about crypto on Google.
1748  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Opinions needed about marketplace - HODLbazaar on: October 25, 2018, 12:53:10 AM
I don't like the way the items in the 'shop' section work- I have to hover over the item image to view pricing, and I'd much rather use a system where there's an item image and the pricing and related details below it, so I don't have to hover over the images of unfairly priced items.

It also seems like most of the items sold on the site are oriented towards European customers, and it should be possible to filter out items based on shipping location. Some physical items also don't have their actual shipping locations, with a placeholder like "ships in 3-5 days" in the shipping tab. I don't know if extra shipping'll be charged on the item or the shipping's free in this case.
1749  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitmex Bots on: October 25, 2018, 12:36:08 AM
Haasonline is pretty reputable around these parts, and the site claims that the bot supports Bitmex, though licenses for the trading bot are only for 12 months, and pricing currently starts around 0.073BTC for the beginner setup. More pricing details are available here. The basic license is sufficient for most IMO, and you don't pay any extra for the bot to trade on more exchanges, as even the basic bot supports all exchanges the bot is capable of.
1750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prediction Markets for Political Betting on: October 24, 2018, 08:20:48 PM
I know OneHash provides a place for political betting, but volume on the site seems pretty low currently as well as historically; I'm pretty sure betmoose is much more popular than onehash for political betting, as I recall the volume was relatively high during the last American election.

OneHash has a relatively long Bitcointalk thread, and the account for OneHash is actually in the green for DT trust, so there aren't any major issues with the site. Generally speaking, most crypto gambling sites have a thread somewhere in the Gambling section, and you'll be able to find any positive or negative reports there. I use the format "(Site Name) Bitcointalk" on google, and I can usually find a main thread for the site in question using this.
1751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what Software and coin to mine whit 460m GTX on laptop? on: October 24, 2018, 10:38:26 AM
I wouldn't try mining on that GPU even if you have access to free electricity with it. The GPU was not incredibly powerful on release and it's now extremely outdated for mining, and you're better off trying to get a better rig to mine with (RX 4/5XX or GTX 1060/170, etc). You'll likely run into problems even trying to initiate miners as some don't support GPUs as old as the 400 series, and you'll be making pennies a month with the 460M. It honestly isn't even worth your time trying to mine with it, but you could attempt mining a CryptoNight-Heavy or Neoscrypt coin with it if you really want to.
1752  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where to exchange doge to btc on: October 24, 2018, 10:32:44 AM
Flyp.me is an alternative to shapeshift and changelly that you can use; it doesn't require KYC, and from what I've read it doesn't seem there are too many issues with transfers and such on the site. Binance is more established in the end, and it's certainly not a bad choice if you're trying to convert your DOGE to BTC. Small amounts usually aren't worth trading IMO due to fees on most platforms and such, so I would suggest holding your coins till you have a bit more to save on fees.
1753  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: EOBOT is clearly scam! on: October 23, 2018, 11:07:03 PM
Additionally, if your area isn't conducive for mining at home (electrical costs too high, temps too high, etc), it's always possible to get miners hosted at a datacenter or a colocation- there are plenty of such hosting/colocating facilities in places like Canada and the United States and also in other countries, and if you're going with a reputable hoster, you get low downtime and cheaper electrical fees that you would get at home. Make sure you're hosting with a reputable hoster by checking on these forums for any threads with the name of the colocation in the title or in any posts, read any applicable posts, and you should be set.
1754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better in poker: bluffing or playing only with good cards? on: October 23, 2018, 11:00:41 PM
Bluffing's definitely a good skill to have, but you don't need to bluff to be successful at poker, and it's not always good to bluff in certain situations. I don't play poker a whole lot and I'm not an expert at poker by any means, but I place playing with good cards above bluffing when you happen to have good cards. If you don't, then that's where bluffing comes into play, and that's a situation where learning to bluff is helpful.
1755  Other / Off-topic / Re: Writing a book - suggest some advice for getting started! on: October 23, 2018, 10:54:58 PM
Motivation's always been tough for me while I wrote in the past in general. I often got unmotivated to write new articles as a copywriter, and that problem was omnipresent until I stopped. I can't give you a lot of advice in this area as a result of this, but I suggest just simply doing something else. This Reddit thread deals with that topic a bit, but in the end fighting a lack of motivation is unique to each person.

As for whether or not writing is a necessary skill in crypto, I don't think it is. Reading and having a good comprehension on what's going on at any particular time in the world of crypto is a much more important skill that many people haven't fully mastered.
1756  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Yobit is scam or Ponzi! on: October 23, 2018, 09:19:42 PM
Well, investbox is a new feature of yobit exchange and I think this feature is imitated of poloniex.
I have a bad experience using this exchange before like stuck coins or lock withdrawal and there are many altcoins that actually made only for pump and dump.
Since Yobit is an exchange site I think we can call it a scammed exchange, not a ponzi because ponzi is like a pyramid scheme.

The investbox isn't even a new feature on YoBit- I recall using the site sometime in 2016 or even 2015, and they had the investbox back then as well. There's plenty of threads on complaints about YoBit here, and there should be no reason why anyone would put any money on this site. There's no verification needed AFAIK, sure, but there are better exchanges out there that don't require verification/ require less verification and have better support and site management. YoBit's about the worst exchange you could possibly choose at this point in time.
1757  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Steam going to accept Bitcoin again? on: October 23, 2018, 10:35:47 AM
Some people may have problems with G2A and how some the codes sold on the site are acquired fraudulently through many ways, and they can be possibly revoked at any time; in fact, some game devs absolutely detest G2A and actively deactivate any activation codes sold through the site. G2A also pushes their subscription-based Shield service whenever you visit your cart, and it's somewhat difficult to cancel once they manage to get you to start subscribing to it. I personally haven't had too many issues with the site besides shield in two years, but it's safest to use actual Steam Gift cards to purchase games, from sites like Bitrefill.
1758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best Coin to mine GTX970? on: October 22, 2018, 01:22:16 PM
Hi folks,

This morning, I update to the latest version of NiceHash and saw my GTX970 was no more eligible for mining.
- Is it the same for you?
- Do you still mine with your card?

Could someone provide a very simple solution to replace with?

Thanks!
Interesting, considering the 970 is still on the Nicehash calculator. Could you please screenshot the error you get upon attempting to start Nicehash? Any graphics card with 4GB or more VRAM should work for mining, e.g RX 470, the entire 4XX and 5XX lineup, the GTX 1060, 1070, any card more powerful than the 1070Ti. I don’t have a 970, so I can’t test this for myself.
1759  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is multimining.website is a legit mining website? Are they paying? on: October 22, 2018, 01:16:05 PM
Don’t trust the post above mine. The account has six posts, it’s brand-new, and even if this user happened to get paid, that doesn’t mean you’ll also get paid considering there are just so many fishy things about this mining site that it can’t possibly be legit. There’s no way to guarantee a return on your investment, and if you want to invest in a safer option, Bitmain’s Hashnest is always there.
1760  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: looking for crypto traffic on: October 19, 2018, 12:55:52 AM
I've heard good things about RunCPA on this forum, and they seem like a legitimate site with no fees for signing up as an advertiser. The site also states that they've been around since 2015, which seems right as the RunCPA Bitcointalk account was registered around January of 2015. Couldn't hurt to give the site a shot.
