EDIT: Anyone know who runs dicenow.com ? Just found it on google.

Yes, a chinese guy. I've spoken with him several times in the past, as I had been an investor there. But he didn't have time or energy to further improve the site. They also have a thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=314252.msg3369111#msg3369111
Dicenow guy is a Taiwanese. He doesnt really speaks chinese (and i translated the site for him).
PS: I invested some in his site with 10x leverage, seems good return so far

What return did you get?

There was not much volume in the first few months

1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 10, 2014, 10:15:38 AM
While I am waiting you to answer - I'd like you to, [...]

Everything you say is true, but I have little hope that you will ever convince him of that.

I see people using the "bet small until you see N the same in a row, then bet high that the streak will end" technique a lot on Just-Dice.  Usually they wait for the streak and then start Martingale betting.

What's funny is that it often works very well.

The reason for this is that Martingale *does* work very well until you hit a streak that's too long, and if you play enough times you will hit that streak.

But when you wait for a streak before you even start, it has the side effect of really reducing the number of real bets you can make per hour, which really increases the time until you reach a streak that busts you.

So the described strategy "works" in a sense, in that Martingale is a horrible strategy, and waiting for a certain condition to occur before starting each Martingale progression means you play less.

People see this, and think that the magic of waiting for a streak in the dust bets is what it working, whereas smoking a cigarette or reciting the Lord's Prayer between each bet would "work" just as well, to the extent that both would slow you down.

Yes; it is amazing to see how many players think they can change the outcome by the way they bet or when they bet

If you are going to use 100BTC to play a martingale 1BTC 2BTC ect. and you decide you will stop after 50BTC have been won you have better odds betting 100BTC @ 1.5 once

I was thinking about that yesterday looking at a player bet strange amounts in a strange order then say he played badly on the chat after he lost; you said it doesn't make sense to allow autobeting but it does because probably more than 50% of the players don't think in terms of probability but in other terms

Yeah, the first time I saw these autobetting options on a dice site, I thought the operators were dumb or something... but apparently it makes sense.

You have to adapt to customers, I used the auto-betting function on PD and I understand why you can have fun with it to try some martingale fantasy
1764  Economy / Gambling / Re: THE BEST BITCOIN POKER SITE IS... on: June 10, 2014, 10:13:50 AM
Going for an other website of SwC is interesting only if you want to chase weaker action and enjoy a bonus but SwC is safer and has more volume than any other Bitcoin pokersite
1765  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn up to 2.4 BTC/Month by Posting on: June 10, 2014, 10:12:44 AM
As much as I'd like him to rise the rates, the others aren't really paying more when they cap the post at so little. This is still the highest paying for those that do many posts, but I guess we'll see on the 17th what happens. I'm sure there's lots of surprises and exciting things that will also be revealed soon.

The number of new participants speaks volumes regarding the quality of the deal. I'm a little gutted that I get the same as those that sold out PrimeDice for a better deal in the past, that's a shame. Other than that I'm looking forward to pay day. Had my most productive month to date!

You are doing the same job and bring the same value as they do

They took a risk, some lost money by changing sig, let's value freedom Wink

1767  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan for 0.2BTC with repayment in 7 days on: June 10, 2014, 10:10:54 AM
How many loans are actually carrier out ?
this section of forum is pointless.
back in 2012 and early 2013 it served a purpose... not so much these days...

Some loans are given, you can always ignore the section if you want

Why was it more serving a purpose in 2012/13 than now?
1768  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan for 0.2BTC with repayment in 7 days on: June 10, 2014, 08:07:56 AM
Hello all I just repaid a loan I had on here and I need one more. If you are willing to loan me the btc please contact me and if you can't find the info for the loan I repaid let me know and I will send you the info.

Thanks in advance!

Did you get it?

What is it for?

I would invest like most members here : Bitcoin, Gold, shares of natural ressources companies and some unlikely investments such as wine or art and I would keep 50k$ to pay for a few holiday trips and fun
1771  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA is getting adversely affected by Immigrants on: June 10, 2014, 08:01:16 AM
US already pass the point of no return regarding immigration issue.

Couple with high inflation, middle class are being squeeze from top and below.

Yeah, those Native Americans shouldn't have let anyone in. Was all downhill from there. And oh the poor middle classes! My heart bleeds for them.

You got the point, it is annoying to see the politicians are followed by the majority to pick scapegoats : immigrants, free market, banks, neighbour country, jews ect. when it is usually the State actions that lead to ruin, war and dispair
1772  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the weirdest thing that happened to you today? on: June 10, 2014, 07:58:52 AM
Every morning I toss out pieces of bread, callingl the birds to come eat them (apologies for not being able to pen the actually call, but they know it's me and what's in store). I watch them from the window while waiting for the first pot of coffee to brew.

This morning, I witnessed a sparrow peck off a piece of bread, then walk/hop on over to a lone robin and offer it up an inch or two from its beak, whereupon the robin accepted the meal.

I witnessed the same thing last year, and pretty sure I've penned some post detailing said. I wasn't planning on relaying today's surreal event, but the weirdest thing just happened - I stumbled upon your thread.

Thanks, bud, for allowing me to share.

That's a bit weird, any Bird specialist to comment on this?

1776  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Confession of a Degenerate on: June 10, 2014, 07:48:53 AM
Hello all, I have a matter I must get off of my chest as it is eating me alive and I can no longer pretend that I'm ok with it.

I recently started an IPO for my web based porn studio by the name of Klyemax.
The initial IPO offered 250,000 shares at a price of .0001 for a total of 25BTC to start up.
A small amount of the funds were used to procure TLD's as well as for advertising.
The rest I ended up investing into Just-Dice. This is where I made my first mistake.

JD sustained some loses to bankroll and I began to gamble the IPO funds in order to recuperate loses.
At first it was only small amounts I would aim to win to replace any lost funds.
Then the gambling became worse, I started to gamble the funds every other day, often winning half or full BTC and stuffing them in my pocket.

For roughly 8-10 days this went on, And I ended up 14+ BTC. Most of which were used to purchase miners or cashed out and spent on drinks and VLT gambling at a local pub where I was attempting to get the waitresses to come work for me. In hindsight I felt as if I was untouchable and that with all this new found success and ambition I would surely not have to worry about losing either the funds or my sanity.

On may 29th I had deposited the IPO money into my gambling account and began my ritual 33% martingale.
As always the balance of the account began to climb and i watched with excitement and money lust as riches flowwed my direction.

Suddenly everything I had been planning, all of what I was working towards, All of the investment I had sworn to use for good..
It crashed.. I went from 24 BTC down to 10 before I even stopped hitting the "lo" key on my martingale.
My heart sunk in my chest and I felt an unexplainable/unbearable pressure in my chest.
It was at that moment I realized that I had fucked over not only my investors, but myself and my reputation.
Frantically I began betting with the 10 BTC... Trying to recoup the loses I had just endured..
This was all in vain however, I watched my balance drop like a stone in a pond.. I remember as the balance hit zero..
My feeble attempts to recover the BTC were met with tears shortly after it sunk in what I had just done.
The feeling was worse than anything you could possibly imagine.. Akin to losing a family member or worse.

I sat there, in disbelief my emotions wrecked as reality set in that I had made a terrible terrible mistake.

To all investors, I sincerely appologize for misusing the funds you have trusted me with.
It was never my intention to use the funds as I did, I had plans and budgets developed for them.
But my vile nature and greed blinded me.. And I failed you all.

This is a massive set back, which is entirely my fault.

I will continue to try to try and develop Klyemax and get revenue streams flowing. But I have set us back immensely with my own lack of control and inability to know when to stop. This should have never happened and I am deeply troubled by it.

As stated before I will continue to pay out dividends to all invested. Thoughts of suicide have crossed my mind more than a few times in the past week but I am unable to leave my investors high and dry due to my lack of control.
Through porn or through any other revenue stream I can procure I will pay back investors funds in full, This may take me some time but I am not going to bail on the people who shared my vision and supported my en-devour.

This has been very stressful, I have lost countless hours of sleep and had not until now the strength to admit what has been done.
I ask for your understanding and forgiveness at this time.. I also promise to all investors you will receive your investment back via dividends over time and phase 2 is still likely to happen, at which point you are more than welcome to sell off your shares for the agreed face value as stated in the IPO.

Hopefully I can focus more on getting more talent and revenue going to pay back investors more quickly, Given the fact I may be able to sleep at night having gotten this burden out from beneath my heart.

Feel free to PM me hate mail / death threats and neg rep the shit out of me.
I will not run nor hide. I am going to deal with this as I am able to the only way that makes sense at this point in time.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Cheers,

Kyle.T

It is hard to believe a gambler will not fall back into his bad habits but Good Luck and as previously said thank you for your honesty
1777  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: June 10, 2014, 07:38:42 AM
Not CPU mining in early 2009 for three months until difficulty started to increase.

Three months of CPU mining would be worth around $12,000,000 today.

Did you know that the original Bitcoin-qt client mined when it was running? So, everyone who had it installed mined a ton.

You could mine some BTC at the very beginning with the client

You could mine a ton if you learned how to build a mining rig

2009

2011 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEGIZOO-HYY

That guy is probably rich at this point. It seemed like it went well.

If he didn't sell too soon, lost the bitcoins or stored them on mtgox

I imagine he sold at least a big portion.
Guess back then it would be hard to be so optimistic as to imagine where btc would be nowadays Smiley

Most of those who learned about Bitcoin early didn't hold any substantial amount of BTC; only the crazy believers, the lucky few that forgot they had a wallet and the entrepreneurs

Instant deposits were great, but things always tend to change once the thieves move in.

...is good to prevent double attack.but will it apply onward account or on all accounts

I don't know if "trusted" or V.I.P. accounts are possible, but the general answer is probably "apply to all accounts."
If older members have instant deposits, then thieves will go looking to buy those accounts.
Also, he said "all deposits", so it sounds like all accounts.
yes this is for our security. Stunna takes decision wisely. 30-40 minutes wait does not mean much.

In 30-40 minutes of waiting you may cool down a little and decide not to multiply but fix losses (yeah, I've been there)... Cool

It should be around 10 mins most of the time.

Yes instant deposits was nice but not rly safe, what other dice site offers instant deposit ?

Instant deposits were great

Is it still instant for small deposits?

I dont think so . I will try later when i get to my pc and update u.

It wasn't, I checked earlier with a 0.009 deposit.

Good news! The question is what is the limit for a small deposit

Is it still instant for whitelisted accounts?

Its not instant any deposit needs 1 confirmation, no matter how big it is and if it is from whitelisted account.

OK Sad

You would think it is pretty safe to allow instant deposits for small deposits in whitelisted accounts or accounts that have deposited/bet a lot
1779  Other / Politics & Society / Re: you get Richer as the Older You’ll Get on: June 10, 2014, 07:34:49 AM
Generally speaking yes. The experience you gain over the years, particularly when you have qualifications and accolades, you will earn a lot more. Senior roles pay a noticeable better wage, depending on the job you are in, of course.

For low skilled jobs you only get a small seniority raise as you get older

You need to change jobs when you reach your maximum potential on a job if you want to make more or you can enjoy your free time to spend time with your family and friends Wink
