1761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will long-term investments in the crypto space provide any guarantee? on: July 30, 2021, 08:42:49 PM
Aside from Bitcoin (BTC), will long-term investments in the crypto space provide any guarantee?
Of course my question is based on some experiences that occur in the market.
My observations of crypto market conditions, such as there are groups or people who do things that cause the price of other coins to only last for a moment.

Please have a discussion that makes all participants gain new knowledge.
What "guarantee" are you looking for? A guaranteed profit? Well, if you are holding bitcoin and other well known altcoins, then highly likely you will be making some very good profit in the long run. If you are investing on shitcoins, then no, you won't be making anything in the long run. You will lose everything. But you should keep in mind that the crypto market is very volatile. We don't know what's stored in the future for crypto currencies. It might become obsolete or it might be the mainstream currency. So whatever you do, make sure you know the risks.
1762  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bye Bye Bitcoin on: July 29, 2021, 10:35:36 PM
I opened my phone and turned on the Internet connection in it and I was bombarded by notifications, Gmail spams, Facebook notifications, Messenger chats and others but one thing that piqued my interest was this article in Google News. It talks about how bitcoin should be banned or something, I tried to read the whole article but I feel like it's just a rant about how bitcoin is worthless and the value of it is based on faith in reality it's the same as fiat, it's just that it's backed by the government that's why it has value, I mean if you go back to bronze age and you ask for a blacksmith to make you a sword and you pay the blacksmith a piece of paper telling the blacksmith that it has value, the blacksmith would probably laugh at you and just give you the sword for free since you aren't right on the head.

Here's the link to that article: https://thehill.com/opinion/cybersecurity/564696-bye-bye-bitcoin-time-to-ban-crypto-currencies
If you read the article and thought it was all bullshit, then why even share over here? You are just helping them spread their hate for bitcoin. Just ignore them. There are lot of ignorant people out there. Most of them don't even know how bitcoin works, yet they act like they know everything. They all are just seeking attention. Nothing else. I bet the same person who wrote the articles is going to regret not investing in bitcoin after few years  Wink.
1763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: July 29, 2021, 10:30:36 PM
These days I'm seeing many Youtubers and Twitch streamers are promoting Gambling websites [Dice, Sports Betting] and Poker Apps.

I know it's ok to gamble for having fun and socially but I don't think young people should be exposed to this when they're in school.
Most of them will only imagine "What 'IF' i win 1000x of this amount and i'll be able to do this and that"

The first thing where will they get the money, even if they get pocket money and use that to gamble then they'll slowly develop the habit of gambling disregarding short-term winnings - if they occur.

They'll pay a huge price with the tension they'll have thinking about this when their whole life is ahead.
Who do you think should be blamed over here? The streaming platform, the streamers or the casino? Shouldn't the streaming platform be more responsible over here? Should they restrict kids from viewing those? Or maybe kids shouldn't be browsing the internet or watch stream without an adult present. It's the responsibility of the parents to make sure they know what their kids are looking at or where they are going. You can't blame the casino or the streamers over here.
1764  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It feel good to see Bitcoin going well on: July 29, 2021, 09:51:32 PM
Some month ago so many people would think Bitcoin will crash , many felt as if  the price will even fall more than it use to be. People were even scared to trade  because they were not sure of the market, but they never knew when it was low that was even the best time to trade . I'm glad to see where the price of Bitcoin have reached presentky, it will be an advantage and good experience to those who took the risk of going into trading and it will also give some others knowledge that fall of Bitcoin is not permanent , definitely it will come up. With this experience have showed that Bitcoin is here to stay, do not panic, trade and make earning
People always overreacted when they saw the price crash. It's nothing new over here. I don't know, but some people like doing that. Look at the media. You will see how they start spreading the news of the crash. They make things worse. But you won't hear anything from the media when the price starts to recover. Sadly, some people fall for it and hence sell whatever they are holding and incur a huge loss. Others that have witnessed a crash before keeps holding and hope that the price will recover soon, while rest invests more when they see the price crash to maximize their profit!
1765  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin do you trust, BNB or ETH? on: July 29, 2021, 04:17:58 PM
although currently for lower cost BNB but for trust I still believe in ETH. I think ETH has a better network than BNB and has more influence in crypto than BNB. but this is my personal decision.
Lol, you prefer BNB because it has lower "cost/price". BNB is nothing, but a centralized shit token controlled by an exchange that is here for making profit. As far as I know more than 85% of the tokens are owned by Binance themselves. So, this means they can easily manipulate the market according to their own will. Very high risk. There are literally thousands of shit tokens like Binance but much cheaper  Wink.
1766  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If not invested then do it now... on: July 29, 2021, 04:09:51 PM
Yeah, you are right. If you are interested in investing, but haven't because you are waiting for the price to drop, then stop waiting and start investing. You don't know when or how low the price will go. In fact, you may never see the price that you are expecting to buy on. Invest now, and when the price goes down to the level you were expecting to buy at, then buy more during that time. Don't miss any opportunity. But just remember, "only invest what you can afford to lose!".
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker casino but need KYC, is this really necessary? on: July 29, 2021, 03:26:31 PM
Hello guys,
Surely everyone here has played Poker at least once, or heard about it, right? Poker is not a strange game, and it is available in all famous casinos in this space, at least the ones that I know. But, have you ever been asked for KYC to be able to play and withdraw in Poker? Rarely do I see a casino asking for that, until today I have access to a new platform where we play Poker PvP on a download app.

Speaking of KYC, I'm sure most people here don't want their identities revealed anywhere, and KYC is something really bad that we always want to avoid, even when A highly regarded project. No way we can use crypto to stay anonymous and then do KYC so they know exactly who we are, where we are, what we do, right?

And that's what I'm talking about here, a crypto casino but requires their users KYC to be able to withdraw funds from the platform to their wallets. It really makes no sense, even with small transactions of only a few dozen, a few hundred dollars. Yesterday, I was introduced to a new gambling platform by a friend, namely that I can play Poker there directly with other people through their app. Yesterday, I was introduced to a new gambling platform by a friend, namely that I can play Poker there directly with other people through their app. Since this is my first time gambling with a downloadable app, I am quite interested and want to experiment with it. After doing my registration as well as linking my wallet, I consider withdrawing, and luckily when I review it, they need KYC.

What do you think about this issue? Do you want to do KYC just for gambling on any platform?
Also added that they are giving new users registered through their referral link some money, and they also require KYC to receive it. I heard that this amount is up to 200$, if you are, would you like to sell your identity to get this money?

I won't post information about that platform, because I don't want to be told that I'm promoting them  Cheesy
KYC requirement has nothing to do with Poker. The casino probably requires you to complete or go through KYC because of legal reason. They country where the casino is operating or has license issued requires them to collect user information. This is because if they have no KYC requirement, people would be able to easily launder money through the casino. Lets say "A" wants to launder his money. He can play pvp poker with his accomplice "B". Lose on purpose. "B" can then say that he won those money by playing poker . You see where the issue is?
1768  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance squeezes users on verification on: July 28, 2021, 11:55:29 PM
People were complaining before that binance was forcing them to verify their identity even though they haven't reached their withdrawal limit or anything. They were being hit by "suspicious activity" excuse. We all knew this would happen sooner or later. They won't be able to allow users to withdraw large amount without verification due to "the government".

Will Binance lose client base now. Will BNB take the hit and crash while this is on? There are many speculations going on in my mind right now.
Who cares about this shitcoin?
1769  Economy / Economics / Re: Can blockchain replace the traditional banking system? on: July 28, 2021, 11:49:39 PM
No it can't and it won't. Blockchain is a technology. A technology cannot replace a system. All it can do is integrate with the system to make it better. So no blockchain won't replaced the traditional banking system, but the tech might be used in the banking system. If you are talking about decentralized crypto currencies being able to replace the banking system, then I doubt that's going to happen  too. Might be after decades by a centralized currency.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Puts Down Bitcoin Use Rumor on: July 28, 2021, 04:54:57 PM
Amazon denies it will use Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies by year end:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/billybambrough/2021/07/27/bitcoin-suddenly-gives-up-its-price-gains-after-amazon-shock-sending-ethereum-bnb-cardano-xrp-and-dogecoin-sharply-lower/

Also, the "new" job posting Amazon posted for a crypto expert is old news, by at least a month and a half:
https://www.financialnewsherald.com/2021/06/08/amazon-is-looking-for-a-head-of-product-in-blockchain/

It looks like there is some manipulation going on in the crypto space... Elites pulling the strings? Thoughts?
There is no manipulation going on. It's just people are trying to spread FOMO and create a hype nothing else. At least the price didn't tank once Amazon debunked the rumor. This means we are heading towards the right direction. Weak hands already sold their coins, more people buying at the discounted rate and diamond hands are still holding strong. At least the marketing is being a little interesting right now.
1771  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why newbies lose huge money in trading on: July 28, 2021, 04:51:14 PM
Because they are "newbies". You can't just "learn" how to trade by reading some articles, watching some videos or just knowing the basics. You will have to experience the market by doing real trades. This way you will know what mistakes you are making and you can learn from it. And trust me, you will be making a lot of mistakes in the beginning and lose a lot of money (hence why newbies lose huge money when trading). Eventually you will get hold of the market and will be able to make profit, assuming you avoid your mistakes.
1772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons to Invest in Bitcoin?? on: July 28, 2021, 12:50:23 AM
First I want to say that I have some Bitcoin and I want to see it go to the moon. But I have some questions regarding the reasons that people give as to why Bitcoin is a good investment.  Kiss

Reason 1: You are in control of your own money - government overprint cash which devalues the dollar, but big influential people and institutions can devalue Bitcoin with a single tweet. Bad news, issues with mining, and other things out of your control can devalue Bitcoin.

Lol, you just said that big influential people can "devalue" bitcoin with a single tweet as a reason why people should invest in bitcoin. So when they do that, just invest more. You will be helping the price to go back up and in the long run, you will also be making more profit.
Reason 2: Nobody can take away your bitcoin whereas the bank can confiscate your cash and lock your account - should I worry about my bank doing this if I am not doing anything that is illegal?
If you aren't doing anything illegal, the banks won't lock your account. And no, if you acquire those bitcoin illegally, your government can confiscate your bitcoins depending on the law of your country.

Reason 3: You can send it to anyone in the world - why would people want Bitcoin when you cannot use it to purchase in many stores? Plus ii takes too long for 1 transaction to go through.
It is because bitcoin hasn't gone mainstream yet. There are stores that you can find online that accepts bitcoin. Give it a few more years and maybe we will be spending bitcoin on physical stores. And for the transaction confirmation delay, I am sure we will come up with a solution one day.
1773  Economy / Economics / Re: What are the difficulties with Amazon accepting Bitcoin payments? on: July 28, 2021, 12:39:06 AM
This may be a rumor,But does not hinder our discussion.
-snip-
Amazon already denied that they are going to accept bitcoin by the end of the year. The rumor started spreading when amazon posted a job looking for digital currency and blockchain experts/project leads. This along with other news like tesla likely going to accept bitcoin probably made the price of bitcoin soar and go above $39,000 USD. I don't think companies like Amazon would be facing any difficulties in accepting bitcoin. Going to be a very interesting week.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you Sell bitcoin today? on: July 27, 2021, 09:50:31 PM
For almost a full day I pay attention to the price of bitcoin, and still survive around the price of $33000. I don't see that there will be a significant change to go up. Will you still survive the market conditions like this? Confusing.
See, you were wrong over here. The price is already above $38,000 USD and that is within three days before you thought the price wouldn't go up anymore. It's almost up by 30% within the last seven days. The market is very unpredictable. People were expecting the price to go below $25,000 USD, but it didn't. FUDs were being spread. Those who sold, lost the opportunity to make a profit today. Those who bought when the price was below $30,000 can make some sweet profit if they sell now. If they keep holding they might be able to make even more!
1775  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are three kinds of people in the Bitcoin world on: July 27, 2021, 08:34:24 PM
There are three kinds of people in the Bitcoin world, idealists, opportunists and faithists.

  • Idealist
Many early Bitcoin participants were mostly idealists, and they hoped to get a lot of benefits through Bitcoin. But many idealists have not persisted until now. After holding the currency for a period of time, they have not seen more benefits in the currency circle. They chose to withdraw due to their own greed.
  • opportunist
They prefer the volatility of Bitcoin prices and find opportunities to buy Bitcoin at low prices by analyzing market price fluctuations. When they see a opportunity in the market, they want to realize the freedom of wealth quickly
  • Faithist
They stick to their beliefs, believe in Bitcoin, and as long as they buy Bitcoin, they are willing to bear its risk. When the price of Bitcoin falls, they will not panic the market and choose to sell, but think it is a good opportunity to buy at a low price.

I think there are more Bitcoin opportunists in the forum. What is your opinion on this? Which one do you think you are?
They all sound like the same. I mean in the end, they all are opportunist. Why do you think the "idealist" decided to withdraw? It's because they found an opportunity. Why do you think the "faithist" decided to buy more when the price was low, because they found an opportunity to buy at cheap. The end goal of all three here is the same. To make profit and get rich. This what the market has become now.
1776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ethics of boxing and gambling on: July 27, 2021, 04:56:50 PM
I know many people bet on boxing matches and I recently saw a post on an "slapping tournament". I was thinking that professional boxing is kind of questionable as a sport discipline and even more so as a gambling event.
Boxing and other related sports used to be very "real" back then. But right now it seems like a joke and all staged. Is there really a "slapping tournament"? Lol, why...
It is known that many boxers sustain long term effects of repeated micro-trauma and even some have been know to die in the ring. For all boxing fans and for others that may have a view on this, how is this being considered a fully legal activity being supported? And how is betting of people hitting each other being considered as legal and ethical in today´s world?
What does boxers suffering from micro-trauma has to do with betting on those games being legal and ethical? This is a sports game. There is a winner and a loser. So you can bet on those. You can literally bet on anything that has an outcome. I don't see anything wrong over here. If two person decides to hit each other for money, then you are also free to bet on them.
1777  Economy / Economics / Re: What is better - cryptocurrency trading or investing? on: July 24, 2021, 03:12:16 PM
If you wish to make active profit, you can try trading. It requires you to have knowledge about the market though. You need to understand how the market works and keep yourself updated every moment. You will be making small profit in the short run. But the risk is also high. On other hand, if you don't want to actively engage yourself with the market, then go for investment. Hold you coins, sit back, relax and sell when you reach your profit goal.
1778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: July 24, 2021, 01:14:13 PM
The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler?

Remember only idiot take high risk to get high reward. The houses do not take risk but telling all of you to take high risk. Whether it’s bear market or bull market, the houses always win.
-snip-
So anyone that would like to take high risks according to you are idiots? Of course the house won't be taking risks. They are not a charity organization. They are here not to give you free money. They are here to make profit (talking about casino, not the other random weird stuffs that you also included). You take risk to make quick profit. This is how it all works. Take high risk, get high reward. Take low risk, enjoy less profit. You can't call someone that is willing to take high risk an idiot.
1779  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not a Game . on: July 24, 2021, 12:42:14 PM
Having luck in trading initially is worst than having bad luck and facing reality because at times when we come out profitable from a trade that was solely based on luck, we get overconfident and go bigger next time. It's much more important for a trader to fail initially to realize how technical trading is and not just recklessly buying and trading tokens will not work.

Trading, Gambling, Betting (sports betting) are all similar and when one may turn into another, we don't even know. In sports betting, you have the ability to analyze but then there is a huge house edge. In gambling the edge is low but there is no chance of analyzing things. Trading is the only activity where there isn't a house against you and you still have the ability to read and analyze the market.
It is stupid to compare trading with gambling. Trading and investing is NOT gambling. It's gambling when you trade or invest on shitty coins that you know is a scam coin. That's because you are trying your luck. Investing in those coins means you will either lose everything or will make a fortune. But when you trade those well known coins, your profit depends more on your skill and understanding of the market whereas gambling is a game of chances. It outcome depends on pure luck. So we can't call trading a form of gambling.
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEO of Twitter has full control of the Bitcoin market by banning Elon Musk on: July 24, 2021, 12:27:32 PM
Bitcoin is still new and has a smaller market cap than other investments that one famous person on Twitter can influence the prices of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
Twitter can't just ban anyone for no reason. You could be saying Elon is trapping people and manipulating the market, but he is going to defend himself by saying that he is just a big fan of dogecoin and wants it to be successful. He is going to prove it by showing us that he is helping the developers to make the network much better. He is not forcing anyone to invest or sell their bitcoin. That would be a really sad move if they ban Elon from twitter.
