Why not? It i am mining in xpool and it works just fine. If you mean about getting your DTC i think it takes time because you need 3000 confirmation to mature i think.

gpool on the other hand was working last fin 5 days ago that i tried it. Some times it pays low and some times it pays 100 times more. Seriously.

Though i dont know if it is better to solo.

Ah guys remember that one thing we must point out is that Datacoin is strictly CPU coin. Together with Primecoin.

The rest CPU coins are starting to getting mined with GPU also. This is happening for quark based, protoshares and memorycoin. Although gpu mining is limited for now but still is more efficient.

So point this fact out when you see a CPU coins list or someone asking!

quark was a cpu coin but now limited gpus can also mined it. In the future more gpus will mine it. Peercoin is exackly like bitcoin so it isnt cpu coin. You can mine it with ASICS.

I am both but with limited money. My theory about price being so low and no movement is that BTER is not really the best exchange, people afraid of it so noone cares. The bet is what happens once we reach cryptsy. Hopefully the coin will rise and will never again drop so down. The faster we reach cryptsy the faster this coin is getting more solid. Thats my bet with my limited money. And i am glad my money support a real coin with innovative ideas.

The only real strictly ONLY cpu coins are Primecoin and Datacoin as of now. Maybe Bernancoin and cthullu offerings too but it is for fun. i am not sure about thoses.

Now grow up and learn to use computers. 1 month ago i didnt know how to solo mine. I always used pools. Now i solo mine, i also learned the basics of linux an i am able to solo mine or pool mine on linux too. I had never used linux before.

i am mining with my laptop for a month now. Mostly datacoins. I mine on 2 threads though when i work. 4 threads when i sleep. I have it a bit high so air can go and cool it easier. Laptop is half the temperature than when i play battlefield 3. So i dont think there will be a problem. Its 2.5 years old laptop anyway.


btw protoshare and memorycoin i think should be in the list with quarks as of now.
