181  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Betting Website - On Chain Gambling - No Registration on: May 31, 2016, 11:31:07 AM
The player vs house game has a 1/16 * 4 = 1/4 = 0.25 expected value

That implies a 75% house edge, making playing against the house an extremely stupid idea.

Something like 15x instead of 4x would make more sense, and it would still leave a 6.25% house edge (15/16 = 0.9375 EV = 6.25% house edge)

Player vs Player may be somewhat better as it is claimed that it has only a 1% house edge, but details are still murky. The site really needs to fix PvH and make rules of PvP more clear.
182  Economy / Gambling / Re: CSGO betting sites? on: May 30, 2016, 07:40:47 PM
+1.5 is the handicap

You want the section for win/loss which is money line search for ML

ML 3.535(+253)
ML 1.280(-357)

What does that mean?
I'm guessing 3.535 is the winning odds, but that's that in the brackets
The handicaps are for the map advantage +1.5 means the said team needs only to win 1 map if you're going on -1.5 the team needs to sweep the match 2-0  sometimes you will also see map1 then it has -4.5 thats the round handicap where the opposing team wont be reaching more than 12 rounds on that map.
Can i ask which csgo match are you betting on?

Could you please explain that again in easier terms ^^ I'm still confused by the exact question the OP asked, I read what you said but still I'm confused.

Let's say teams A and B are playing.

You bet on team A +1.5 map advantage

At the end, the score between A and B is 1-2, where A has won one map and B has won two maps.

But since you bet on A +1.5, 1.5 is added to A's score.

So it now is 2.5-2 instead of 1-2, and since 2.5>2, A wins.

Basically: You add the handicap/advantage to the team's score.

Round handicap would be the same but for rounds on a map instead.
If team A wins 16-14, but you have a handicap of -3.5 for A, it becomes 12.5-14 and you lose your bet.

183  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for Bitcoin-Poker Sites on: May 30, 2016, 07:37:13 PM
If you're willing to convert to Doge, I remember using PokerShibes in the past, they usually have some traffic. (Usually quite low stakes though)
You can use something like ShapeShift to convert quickly if you don't mind losing some in conversion fees.
184  Economy / Services / Re: ★ Coinroll ★ Signature Campaign ★ on: May 30, 2016, 10:30:59 AM
Any idea how long this will run at the minimum? I'm interested in joining, but I'm not sure if I would leave my current campaign for this one if it is going to last for only a couple weeks.
I'm particularly interested in the payment per total post rather than post made. Good on you for trying to reduce spam.
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Halvings on: May 29, 2016, 07:38:10 PM
This may be worth considering at some point, if there is insufficient mining incentive to keep the network secure. However, the reward will drop under 1 BTC only after x halving (12.5->6.25->3.125->1.5625->0.78125) which should happen only after around 16 years.

Any predictions we make now are likely to be worthless.

However, I do agree with lucasjkr, assuming lost coins doesn't add much to the concept. However, an extremely small rate of inflation (1 BTC per block, or maybe even lesser) might be something to consider in the far future.
186  Economy / Services / Re: need escrow for purchase on: May 29, 2016, 07:24:22 PM
I'm not trying to troll anyone or derail this but I feel like ppl need to stop expecting everything for free. You want a service provided to you so you should pay a fee to ensure that service is provided for you and your deal is safe. If you do t wanna pay someone to ensure this then I hope noone decides to help you out.

It's requests like this that are keeping trusted escrows from trying to help users. The amount of bullshit it requires to escrow deserves for someone to be paid for their time

You must be joking though, right?

3 of the escrows on the famous escrow list ask for a 0% fee, and one of them is Monbux (who you must know is very highly trusted)
Most of the rest ask for 1% fee, which is almost nothing, and seems to be mostly to cover transaction fees and stuff anyways.

187  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I have 150$ steam credit, gifting games for -20% on: May 29, 2016, 07:17:44 PM
No, it's has been like this for years.

I took the info from the third line of the /r/steamgameswap wiki here: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamGameSwap/wiki/revokedgames
188  Other / Meta / Re: Only talks but no action ? That's how we deal with issues . on: May 29, 2016, 07:11:05 PM

Again,I'm not stepping out of my bounds by posting my opinions in his thread. This is a public driven privately owned forum.Selling accounts is bad.gets worse when you have like a signature army ranging from newbie to hero accounts enrolled in every other signature campaign.Furthermore, that guy is selling a Senior Account already enrolled in a signature campaign.Could it get worse ?The campaign manager would have hired the first owner depending on their post quality, changing the account owner simply can't guarantee that.In my humble opinion,I find it as a sheer act of breaking forum's rules ,which is the root problem of all the scams,I may add.

-snip-

Hope you get my point, that is not derailing the thread ,its an attempt to stop account sales.

Almost nobody argues that account sales are bad.
But if I recall correctly, the primary argument has been that banning account sales will not stop them.

The people selling accounts would just do so on another forum, or in private message or on Skype or whatever.

->Enforcing this would take more mod time
->Enforcing this wouldn't severely reduce accounts sold
->Enforcing this would drive traffic away from the forum to other forums where people can sell accounts
189  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I have 150$ steam credit, gifting games for -20% on: May 29, 2016, 06:48:55 PM
How did you obtain this steam credit?  I would like proof of that as well.  I might need to purchase a game from you in the future. Smiley

AFAIK, you cannot get in trouble for getting gifted a game from an account with a stolen credit card. Gifts are often used in trades, and steam itself allows that.

Unless it is the moral implications of the games being bought from a stolen credit card, you have nothing to worry about.

Yeah, but the buyers here is in a bad position. He pays in BTC,receives the gifted game.Gifted game get's removed if the CC holder makes a report, chargeback whatever.

Quote
Where is my gift, and why was it removed?
When a gift is refunded due to fraud or a payment dispute, the gift is removed from Steam. The account which redeemed the gift receives a notification that the game is no longer available to play in his or her Steam library.

Wow, nevermind, turns out that they changed this about 3 weeks ago.
That's just terrible for honest users who can their gift revoked after trading for it...
190  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] Providing escrow services for a particular market on: May 29, 2016, 06:45:34 PM
The funny thing is, on the list you submitted, nobody has a significantly higher minimum escrow fee except dabs (0.03 vs your ~0.01)
3 of the people on the list ask for 0 fee for all transactions.

The question then is: Why should anyone come to you for any transactions when Monbux (pretty much the top escrow), SebastianJu (>500k$ escrowed) and BitcoinDream all offer free escrow services for all transactions?
191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you see reemergence of Communism in this century? on: May 29, 2016, 06:39:31 PM
Communism is hard to come about because everybody above the average wealth needs to for some reason give up their wealth and ownership of property.

This would likely only happen through revolts and the similar. As technology improves, we could eventually see automated means of revolt supression ensuring that revolts are never capable of forcing change.

Some somewhat socialist measures are likely (such as basic income) to appease the poor, but complete communism is unlikely to occur.
192  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help transfering BTC to Paypal on: May 29, 2016, 06:29:11 PM
Bitcoin to Paypal is dangerous for you, as chargebacks are possible.

The best method I would recommend would be checking the Currency Exchange subforum and looking for anyone with a large amount of trust. (Trust usually means 10s of thousands of $ of BTC traded, atleast 20+ BTC)

LocalBitcoin is a potential way to exchange too, but I usually find the prices there either exorbitant or there aren't too many people with enough trust.

If anyone is to consider your offer seriously, you telling them that you receive views is not enough.
How many page views do you have per day/week/month? How many of them are unique?
195  Economy / Services / Re: I2VPN- Anonymity guaranteed, free your freedom! on: May 29, 2016, 05:54:15 PM
I've tried accessing your website, but it doesn't work too well for me.

The text is very hard to read firstly. I can see the home page, and view the "geek way" page, but whenever I view the "easy way" page, my browser just gives me a "Too many redirects" error and I am unable to access it.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with the Price Changes? on: May 29, 2016, 05:47:15 PM
I don't see much of a reason for amount gambled to change.
If the value of a major fiat reduced or increased, people using the currency would likely stop gambling because of fear of losing a lot of money. However, most people using BTC don't use it as a major store of wealth, especially those gambling with it.

197  Other / Off-topic / Re: What will you do if you own 21 BTC? on: May 28, 2016, 07:13:50 AM
It was my little dream to own 21 BTC and today i achieved it after hard work of so long time. Now i want to make my hard work pay me.I mean,i want that these bitcoins work for me someway and grow.Is there bitcoin bank that pays interest? What will you do with 21 BTC? How will you spend it? How will you grow it? Share anything you want that may help me to decide what should i do. Smiley

i have seen a couple of exchangers (not exactly bitcoin banks) that pay you interest for your deposits but you can never trust an exchanger or any bitcoin bank for that matter just google about cryptsy, mtgox and all those people who lost their bitcoin because they have invested them in these exchangers and now are at a loss after all these years.

If you were looking for something legitimate to deposit BTC in, you could always try to invest in the JustDice bankroll or the bankroll of some other similar gambling site. The law of large numbers means that in the long run you will get some profit.

Get it SSL certified if you can, it is cheap or free now and there is no real reason to not get it certified, even if it is a clone.
199  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Cashing out on: May 27, 2016, 06:41:09 AM
Also, check out the Currency Exchange subforum here itself.
Be safe: Don't use reversible payment methods and only deal through an escrow or with highly trusted users.
200  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: electrum wallet on: May 22, 2016, 12:13:32 PM
a good wallet and good reputable, but i think newbie should not use this wallet for now, because they wan't getting hard to understand to use this wallet,i suggest them to use online wallet like blockchain or coinbase.

Online wallets like coinbase are very very dangerous for any significant sum of BTC. Blockchain.info atleast claims that they don't have full access to your wallet, and is somewhat better.

Electrum or another offline wallet (Core, Multibit, Armory, etc.) is necessary for anybody who cares about losing their BTC.

What is electrum wallet?

How it works?

Is that wallet like blockchain wallet? Huh

Yes, it is easy to use, light and works like a normal wallet for most cases.
