Thanks, that finalises it.

My question now is, should I buy it monthly, anticipating a price rise in Bitcoin fast enough, that the discounted yearly price wouldn't be worth it, or buy it yearly, not expecting a rise in Bitcoin Tongue

There are more good VPNs that accept Bitcoin and offer great protocols which help you to bypass blocked content and compatible with Windows 7, Mac and other devices.. For good speed with VPN you should have high MB internet service. Yes PIA is best with cheap price and accept bitcoin with this I would recommend PureVPN, and ExpressVPN you can check out this list
http://www.bestvpnservice.com/blog/top-vpn-providers-that-accept-bitcoin

Only Express, VPN4all and PIA have https, allowing me to see them.

PIA costs 3.33$ per month with the best plan, Express costs around 8$ and VPN4All costs around 15$.

I don't see any advantages in them, and PIA is still better because it allows usage in 5 devices.

Please don't just post a review site, tell me which one is better than PIA and why.
I'm going to close this in around a week, if I don't have an answer, I will consider PIA the best and buy it.

@OP - just get 2x8 GB , that way you can easily upgrade in the future if you want. Just make sure your mobo supports the freq of the ram.

My motherboard has maximum 16 gb supported, in the form of 4x4 GB

If you look at the images, you can see the clock speed shown in 667 Mhz.

Weirdly though, I can find only DDR2 RAMs with 667 Mhz, and I assume it is not backwards compatible ?

EDIT: This shows 1333 Mhz, and has he same product code as my current one. http://www.impactcomputers.com/ebj21ue8bdf0-dj-f.html
I guess you can use something with a higher frequency on a motherboard that supports only 667 ?

EDIT2: I had found RAMs for around 180-200$ for the same thing, but I'd be willing to pay upto 200$ if I was assured it would work.

They were created by Satoshi. They can be considered public domain as far as I'm concerned.

Ok, I will use them, if Satoshi has a problem I will remove them right away!

According to Theymos, the coins can be used by anybody. Why don't you make a new one? Change the colour and all or even the coin and make a new one. You can do it using the current coin or by making new ones. Anyway, Good Luck for the coins and the forum. It is really hard to make an active forum unless there is no forum like that.Roll Eyes

  ~~MZ~~

I wish the I knew the terminology for this, but I'd like to call it some sort of inertia.

If a new store opens, offering a 5% discount off the normal stores, it still is not a likely competitor to companies with a pre-existing follower base, despite being a technically, better bargain.

The same happens on forums but is a much much higher factor. On forums, the other customers there are not only an indicator of good service, but the reason why you are there.
Dozens of altcoin forums have failed, because despite being more specialized and better at doing that, they are not populated enough in comparison to the Bitcointalk.org Altcoin subforums.

The only ways I can see you succeeding are:-

1- Give HUGE incentives. Yeah, it will take more than it will pay back and you will lose your userbase as soon as it stops.
2- Get a loyal userbase from outside of BTCtalk. Recruit people into the altcoin forums, not from Bitcointalk though, and ideally they should have never heard of Bitcointalk. This means, they will not have Bitcointalk.org as a better option or will be too loyal to you.

I'm looking for online shipping that delivers internationally, or a local dealer that can sell it in Dubai.

I expect it to be 250$ or lesser, including shipping.

Well yes, but there is such a thing as editing. You shouldn't instantly dismiss any possibility of the BTC symbol having been removed, for instance.

Ahh yes, it makes all sense that they would put Bitcoins under the name and then remove the BTC symbol from them.

I've got one! What do you do in your spare time apart from post here?

I breathe a lot of code.

Make more awesome stuff.

I'm probably against the majority of the Bitcoin community here, but I believe that a inputs.io sort of system is necessary.

I can't see Bitcoin being used physically without a wallet in which funds would necessarily need to be inputted. I wouldn't wait for 20 minutes for my groceries to "confirm".

inputs.io worked so well for that purpose, it was extremely easy to incorporate and a lot of sites used it.
649  Other / Meta / Re: Can I use Coin icons for my own forum for an Altcoin? Staff needed! on: September 09, 2014, 05:23:23 PM
it appears that the coins are a downscaled version of this picture: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/File:Bitcoin.png, which is under the public domain. If you really want to avoid copyright issue,s downscale the images yourself instead of copying them.

Those are the ones used in the alternative version I showed you.

The BTCtalk ones use plain old gold coins, without any BTC symbol.
650  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forum copyrighted or open source? Staff needed! on: September 09, 2014, 03:43:32 PM

The forum runs on a free open source software as far as i know.  It has some customizations which may also be open source or perhaps some "new code" has been created.

The basic platform is easy to find on google though.  Good luck creating a active forum, very very hard.

The customizations are not open source. They're not required to be open source, as SMF is licensed under the BSD license. http://www.simplemachines.org/about/smf/license.php

So may I use the coins or not?

By default, anything created by anyone is their property. They mostly won't chase you down if you are a small forums, but if you have aspirations, you NEED to make sure you have the right to use everything.

This user has made some awesome looking coins.

If I was you, I'd ask him to simply make the same thing with your altcoin image, or ask permission to use his.

They look really nice and I'm sure it is simple enough for him to not turn it down if you offer a small fee. (0.05-0.2 BTC)

Remembered Private Internet access.

Accepts Bitcoin, at half the cost of WTFast.

But, before I buy it I'd like some sort of review. Anyone used them before ? Are there any disadvantages that come with a reduced price tag ?
652  Other / Off-topic / Search for a good VPN on: September 09, 2014, 03:27:22 PM
I'm looking for a good VPN service, and hopefully a way to purchase them in Bitcoins. (Not necessary that they accept Bitcoin, but it would be awesome)

I've currently looked at Tunnel Bear and WTFast.

My main aims are :-

1- VPN to bypass blocked content

2- Usable on multiple computers (A windows 7 desktop and a macbook pro). I won't be using them simultaneously, but there needs to be some sort of way to easily shift which one uses the VPN.

3- Speed. I've tried a lot of free VPNs and they have horrible speeds. WTFast promises better speeds which makes them interesting.

Which of these is better ? Any way to use them on multiple PCs ?
Any other ones you would recommend ?
And finally, any Bitcoin accepting VPNs ?
653  Other / Meta / Re: Normalize Trust display across subforums on: September 09, 2014, 08:35:56 AM
In my opinion, it would be best if it was displayed everywhere, with an option to toggle.

Newbies would always know about trust rating and more experienced users would be able to toggle the settings as they please.

I've been confused for a long time whether your account was hacked, or something like that...

I wanted to know if you are the same dude that set up coinchat and stuff and whether you could prove it.
655  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask TF thread on: September 08, 2014, 02:57:44 AM
Which is the most indubitable way you can prove you are the same TF?

656  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best Hosting and Domain at Cheap Price on: September 06, 2014, 12:40:56 PM
I have heard bad things about Godaddy hosting. It's great for domains.

They fuck people over by blocking their transfers in various ways, with weird reasons.

Once they get you on, it is really hard to cancel and transfer.
657  Other / Off-topic / Re: People with best and worst trusts on: September 06, 2014, 12:39:02 PM
Even though theymos may not have the highest green number, he would be among the most trustworthy.

I believe the most trustworthy people would be the top level of the DefaultTrust list, as they have been trusted by the forum.

That usually would mean they were one of the early adopters with millions of $ worth of Bitcoin and wouldn't see any reason to ever scam.
658  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you do if you received 20 bitcoins? on: September 06, 2014, 12:37:00 PM
Send it through a mixer, receive clean coins.

Put 15 in a cold wallet and just derp around with the other 5.

Goddamn you people and your sense of morality...

659  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't this spam? on: September 05, 2014, 09:03:12 PM
Jambola I suggest you be quiet as you seem to have done no serious research on what happened. b!z's writing style did change dramatically including in his PMs as well as his posts so people have a right to be cautious.

I did not eliminate the chance that he has been hacked, but I am sure that he has not sold it.

There is a chance that his writing style changed because he may have been hacked, but I believe that he would never sell his account.

Asking for proof by signature of an address posted over 6300 posts ago is a stupid idea, that's all I said.
660  Other / Meta / Re: Isn't this spam? on: September 05, 2014, 07:12:22 PM
You guys are real funny.

I'm pretty sure b!z would have 100s of BTC.

Impossible that he has sold it. Small chance it was hacked (I'm pretty sure he knows to manage his security)

It looks a lot like you are trying to troll him.

A lot of people don't have control of old wallets, especially ones almost two years old.

It would make sense only if you think his account was stolen over two years ago, before he built up his reputation as one of the most reliable traders.
