Is anyone in contact or can get in contact with the exchanges? I know the original DEVs did something with poloniex for a contest for a Oculus Rift give-a-way. I don't want to do the exact same thing, but I want to offer a similar contest too. Maybe winner gets something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh7JyowQ3k0Ideas? Suggestions? I'll donate the funds to get it for the good of the community! Im unsure if anyone has, but that sounds like a good idea. The occlus rift promo was quite successful i must admit. I wonder if poloniex would be open to another promotion? That drone looks pretty cool!

Well im glad i sold my DRK when they were over $10, i may buy back some more, but ill be watching the markets closely, there is a ton of competition as far as anon coins go. Night trader is going to change the landscape too.
DRK just has a nice head start, it's going to be open sourced soon - no seriously privacy appreciative merchant or customer is going to adopt closed source solution. DRK is about to mature to real world usage. If other coins have planned some other usable features or apps deemed as valuable, DRK can just easily implement those, no problem. It's not like if some coin announces its plans to create USB sticks or chat apps, that it would mean that DRK can't have those if someone thinks they have some value or use.. it's not rocket science. Looking forward to NightTrader myself as well btw! When DRK goes open source, it will make a big impact, your right, when it comes to privacy, transparency is 100% critical. Night trader has me very excited at the moment, ive been waiting for such technology to arrive.

What's going on now is normal. There is a new hype coin. People want to get in to not miss the train, so they sell their previous investment to free up money. Then when the hype is over and its price crashes, people come back to DRK and the price of DRK goes up again. This is why now is such a great time to buy. I just added 3 more masternodes worth of DRK.
+1 It happened countless times in crypto but people are still panic. And dont forget that is was only hype that initially had driven up the price of DRK in the first place.

Question about staking: Is my wallet staking while I don't have it open on my computer, or while my computer is turned off? My understanding is that it is not (please correct me if wrong). And if it does not stake while my computer is off or wallet is closed, is it possible to have a "cloud-staking" service, in which a server-based solution is provided that stores a user's wallet and stakes 24/7? It seems this would be a win-win situation for the users, the provider of the service and for the SilkConomy. - While we (users) may have to pay a relatively small portion of our staking interest in return for the service, we should earn more overall because we will earn interest 24/7/365 and have solid backup to their wallet.
- The provider of this service will benefit by receiving a portion of the users' staking coinage in return for providing this service to the users
- The SilkConomy will benefit from the statistical increase in the amount of stake that is being proven
If my understanding of any of this is whack, please upgrade my knowledge. I'm always happy to find out I'm wrong so I can learn things right. I'd be happy to join the hangout to talk about this. If you don't have time to investigate this, I am sure I can get the right people to happily make this happen. Peace, Yep it is true, when your computer is off your wallet is not staking. I believe I read about this suggestion in ethereum as a possibility of building a service, where you can 'lease' your portion of stake to another user, so you don't have to have the computer on via smart contracts. I know that nxt does this, so is definitely a possibility. Sure I'll add ya to the party! NXT does this currently too, you can lease your balance to a forging pool to earn NXT without having to leave your client open.

whats the big deal about reddcoin?
|
|

I feel Nighttrader is the future for all anonymous transactions, any coin including darkcoin will be able to use it.

I think its a joke how they made such a big deal about the sunglasses being his trademark! What utter BS! Shutter glasses have been around for years, he just had his own custom pair made, thats all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shutter_Shades

I dont think Anyone has the power to stop the coin. Shutter glasses are not a trademark of Kanye west anyway, they have been around for years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shutter_ShadesAnd a fish wearing glasses can hardly resemble him anyway. Anyway the coin is still mineable, id love to see this coin revived in some shape, just to piss him off even more!

Wow. As a big bagholder who had pretty much given up on this project, I'm super impressed with how things have progressed. Thanks! (and sorry I didn't help)
Its never to late What needs doing? I've got a little some rusty C++ skills You are always welcome to help, any C++ experience is good, even if its just for testing and debugging builds etc. Message Arteleis with your gmail address and he can add you to the hangout. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Why are we using the same type of Camel logo like the drug website Silkroad used to use? Wouldn't it be smarter to distance this new coin from all that scam stuff?? I think that camel thing is terrible.
Silkroad has a totally different logo, just because ours is a camel, doesnt mean we have any association with silkroad.

hey, is anyone working on that idea of a distributed marketplace?
We have been brainstorming ideas about this on trello, once we have a stable client, we can concentrate on building the marketplace. The updated wallet is almost ready to go from beta to final, so we will be able to start on this once the voting platform is introduced, etc. A huge amount of work has been done, but there is still plenty more work ahead. The community has been great, and we are growing from strength to strength each day.

I was the first to call bholzer out over 2 weeks ago. It's a shame people got over excited and donated even without escrow. I'm not too impressed with the way he's chosen to completely abandon any sense of accountability for his words. Doesn't inspire much confidence in any Murraycoin folks that happen to stumble upon this, either.
It was not very professional in the way he handled it, its not going to be a good image for the murraycoin community either, integrity is paramount in crypto, an apology from him would go a long way. He could have been straight up and simply said it was a bigger task than he expected and i think most of would have accepted that. Thankfully, the whole community has moved on together and is growing, we have a wonderful team here.

What is the status with bholzer?
Bholzer has nothing to do with this project. I still keep wondering how this dude managed to convince me about his credibility with all his cheap talk... I really wonder if Bholzer will ever come on board or not, it seem alot of the stuff he said was all talk anyway, (eg, updating to latest bitcoin core) I know, I was disappointed with that one. I really believed in that guy. It's crazy how sometimes you think you know somebody and then it turns out you know shit. It really blows my mind how he sounded convincing when he said he was hard at work on the latest bitcoin core and that it would be ready shortly ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Can't really trust no one these days it seems. Couldnt agree more, he gave alot of people here false hope, but in saying that, as a result he has drawn the community together with his post, and got discussion going, and now look where we are. Silkcoin is moving forward with or without him, and thats all that matters now ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)
