Yes, 42's finished. 33, 40, and 10 are on hold. Starting from 59 and working toward getting caught up again.

In 59, responding to how the Silicon Valley MeetUp is set up, Scott Robinson says, "Well, the typical format is we invite speakers both locally and abroad. We've had people from Hashfast, Coinbase... We had Eddy from SeedCoin, who's throwing the Bitcoin Conference [at the] end of this week, Travis from CoinMarket, Jaron from CoinSetter. We had Guy the Glass Pig Eye."

That's what the transcriptionist wrote. I've listened to it five times now, and I agree with it, though maybe "Eye" is "guy." Unfortunately, Google is not helping find any connections between Bitcoin and the glass pig eye (or glass pig guy). Maybe it's more like "glaspig guy"? Glasgow guy? Plastic eye? "Gassed pig" guy?

Idunno about this Guy guy, but he sounds a bit insane.

M$ Windows is for degenerate corporate slaves..

Been using Linux since '92 -> epic hero

In you oppinion. In my oppinion linux is not for everyone. And i like windows cuz it looks a way much better than linux

I have same oppinion, linunx is not for evveryonne. Linux is for niice people, with muscular bodies and healthy apppetites, M$windows is for stricken goblin-people with hairy feet. FACT!

I knew you weren't the persson in your avvatar. Everyone was saying you werre.

Hey! don't try annd derreail this epic thread.  Sticck to the topic at hannd: Why M$windows reduces erectile power while Linux users can bench press 120kilo
Windows users don't have free timme to cook healthy foods while their OS is frozen, so they havve to eat only microwaved foods. Linux users (specifically, Ubuntu users) can decide to take the latest screen-lock and wait it out by makking a nice stir-fry and lift weights.

Macc users should probably be healthy sinnce all they do is draw on their screen (a very expensive notebook and set of colored pencills, if you ask me). I guess we can just challk that up to mental disabbilities.

Here we go (pardon the dust, please!):

Didn't realize they were standard bolts. Dunno why I thought they were something else, before... family usually dies of Alzheimer's complications... hmm....
1905  Economy / Securities / Re: Mixmycoin - Bitcoin Mixing - Sustainable 18% APY for Deposits on: November 26, 2013, 05:50:16 AM
~18% annually doesn't even come close to counterbalancing the risk associated with putting coins in an unlicensed business operated anonymously and unlawfully. 18% is the rate I'd consider giving a geographically-close, long-time friend who wanted to do this.

This rate would make more sense if it worked similar to Blockchain.info's subsidy. At times when they had just a few very large inputs, they'd pay people a % to mix their coins, which would be quickly spit out like any normal user's, not held like a certificate of deposit.
1906  Other / Off-topic / Any uhhh... water softener guys? on: November 26, 2013, 04:36:19 AM
Our house came with one of those electricity-less water softeners. There are no knobs or anything on it to control what it does. It likes to randomly go into that "brine" mode. I have a general contractor who works on certain big projects with the house, but he didn't have any idea how these things work internally, either, and there are no "water softener people" in Bumfuck.

Anyway - so every week or two (probably more frequently, but we aren't up 24/7), there'll suddenly be a ton of softener salt in the water, for - Idunno, maybe 30 minutes. Then, everything goes back to normal. I cleaned out the brine tank pretty thoroughly, but don't have the tools to even look inside the uhh... black double-tank (it has what looks like an inverted torx head on the screws sealing it).

I can give some addt'l info, but have no idea what'd be useful. Any chance someone could help me out in this department?
1907  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW DO I GAIN TRUST on: November 26, 2013, 12:33:29 AM
Use escrow. Then nobody needs to trust you. As you complete transactions, you build trust.

Here, qwk:
*Pay kieran BTC.1 -- (.1*%transcribed + .025*%proofread) or (.1+0)
*Pay tennis BTC0.055677 -- (.1*%transcribed + .025*%proofread) or ((.1*0.4089219330855018587360594795539)+(.025*0.5910780669144981412639405204461)) or (.0409+.014777)

Pocket mtm's .05. You're only out an extra BTC.005677 this way and it's most fair for work done.
1909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could we stop using the word "taint"? on: November 25, 2013, 06:55:47 PM
the word taint allows for people to realise that in the real world if something changes enough hands its bound to get dirty
Sad

1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Could we stop using the word "taint"? on: November 25, 2013, 09:21:10 AM
"Marked" or "contaminated" would be fine replacements, I think. Maybe it's just a US thing....

In Bitcoin, we now have taint trackers, 0-taint mixers, Phin was just about to post a "Spot the Taint" game in the off-topic subforum... I mean, Blockchain has widely-used "Taint Analysis" tools. It's like Urban Dictionary opened a hardware store.

I remember rolling my eyes and thinking what a terrible world it would be where Atlas has a near-infinite supply of wealth.

Now I just wonder whether his lair is in the sky or sea.

SurprisePill/PillWatch.

Subscription service, consumer watchdog site. $ from user subscriptions, $$$$$$ from businesses, $$$ from site ad revenue. "Blindly" put people on supplement regimens - one box per month. Have subscribers tell you how they feel after taking the pills after various spans of time. Compare what people say against what's claimed by manufacturers, alert the companies to impending release of data and suggest they can have the information withheld if they file a $50,000 appeal with your company. For those specific-pill-selling businesses which don't pay up, release the information publicly on a website for ad revenue and to build followers/credibility.
1914  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan Question. on: November 25, 2013, 12:37:22 AM
If you're geographically near the lender, it would probably be acceptable. There'd be a default clause in the loan contract which states the lender comes into possession of the vehicle. The original title would probably be required to be held to prove you actually own the vehicle being put up as collateral.

There are maybe five lenders on the whole forum who'd consider that. Chance of them being near you geographically I'd guess is ~.25-1%. Better bet would probably be a pawn shop (about the same effective rates, they have more experience resulting in a more frictionless transaction, can possibly be a bit more confident they won't scam you). Take the cash, convert to BTC through something like CoinBase or a Bitcoin ATM if nearby...

yeah, There isn't nothing down here in this bfe town i moved to. May have to take my title to a near by bigger city to do so... I appreciate all the replies.

PS: How the hell do i leave positive feedback? I tried to leave it, but didn't see what it was a + rep
Feedback here's generally only left when a transaction is made (unless someone tried to scam).

AFAIK, perfectly fine to sell fakes here. Extra points for actually disclosing it.

If you really want justice, ban the sale of goods with a 500%+ profit margin.  Wink
