1901  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 05, 2014, 03:12:35 PM
When i live "near Israel" they'll ship it 1/2 around the globe. Host it 6 months and will ship it back for "just" 300$?

Then i have (1800+300)/6 = $350/month.
Spondoolies hosting costs $1200/3 = $400/month and then i have a day0 miner (not 2+ days for shipping), after 3 months free shipping (from the Group buy) and a heater in the winter months Cheesy
After the next jump 1 day will be ~$66. IMHO the shipping around the globe cuts in the ROI more then Spondoolies own hosting. But everybody should do his own math Smiley
Thinking the same thing but I think they want the hosting payment up front, with the already reduced hash rate
And the possibility of not even making roi, why would I dump another $1800 into the same project.  Might as well run it myself on 20v, like people say Winter is coming'

Or host it with Advania. Slighty bigger prices, but monthly payments.

I got a very nice video tour of jtoomim´s hosting facility and had the chance to chat with him a little.

It looks like they have thought of everything relevant to mining, internet access and cooling.

I decided to send some of my sp30s there and will be able to write up a short review once my units are shipped and the mining facility is built out.

Always ahead of me. I will send some September or October SP30s to him too. Come on 650$-700$ exchange rate.

Spondoolies-Tech SP30 - Specs: 6TH/s + 0.46W/GH

I'm in for 12 of these, who is your preferred escrow. I will release payment based on delivery date(on time) and above specs matched on my 120v circuits.

Specs were lowered. Check my sig.

Edit: Last reported unit on 110V was reaching 4.1Th/s.

In historical terms
Total Received   $ 81,279,481.63 USD Using Blockchain at that conversion rate

81,279,481.63/400,000 Shares = $203.198704085/Share USD
$203.198704085/Share USD * 236,038 Shares = $47,962,615.71

But that is a historical gross income I am not sure how much remains after all their development costs /Conversion rates

Let's talk with numbers out of the latest financial statement, not with historical terms with one single exchange rate.
1905  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 05, 2014, 07:05:17 AM
Here in NJ electricians are VERY expensive. I have a 100amp panel which is almost full and wanted to add a sub panel and a couple 240V circuits. I actually got two quotes. One was for $1200 and the other was $950. Installing new circuits you sometimes need to break down the sheet rock and do a lot of other things that just add to the cost. Once the electrician leaves then you need to do some sheet rock work, spackling, painting, etc. It adds up.

That's why we have a GB hosting offer and that's why we have a dedicated thread for colocation offers.

Not that much. Instead of well over, maybe medium rare. Specifically it would be $4195, which I'll mark up to $4200. You don't think that's a little high for 4.5TH/s delivered in mid September? And I'm not trying to argue, being serious. I guess prices and money is all ones perspective since everyone has their own value of money. I work hard long days for my money, so I value every dollar. I'm not cheap or frugal, but I do try to get the best price on something I can, if I can.

$4200 is not "well over" in my opinion.

Unrelated stuff: You managed to post 8 consecutive replies in 8 different post and you are not the only one to do that. Nice way to increase forum posts Smiley

collider has one
roadstress has one arriving 'today'
dogie has one (or its en route)
& 1 other brother, apologies i forget

...that i am aware of
these are the 'july' batch
i imagine dogie & perhaps roadstress didnt part with any coin, i could be mistaken
there was a spondoolie post regarding 'our 63 units' earlier

I wish I didn't part with any coin. My July SP30 is part of one April SP10 and one July SP30 for which I paid a premium to get it before anyone else. Unfortunately it seems that DHL didn't deliver the package on Monday even it the custom part is done. I hope there will be movement today.
1906  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 04, 2014, 08:01:31 PM
I am not a part of GB, so just a matter of factual accuracy; wasn't the hosting deal $290 and not $310/mo, but maybe there are some savings in shipping or setup, so the 6 mo total does not change.

I think the $290/mo was for the 2500W. After the upgrade announcement to 6Th/s the power consumption went up to 2700W so that's why the cost per month jumped to $310.
1907  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asicminer News 15-30% of Network on: August 04, 2014, 06:59:41 PM
Let's say it's $0.5/GH/s as you said before. AM surely sold some more chips since financial report was published. Was it enough to deploy all 32PH/s? Maybe. Maybe not. Friedcat says it was enough. I am gonna trust him for now, he delivered few times before

FC just stated in the same self mining announcement that sales aren't so great. AM sold some chips but at a very low profit so they can get mining revenues from the franchise operations. Also don't forget that AM needs money for gen4 development.

At 0.5$/GH/s that 32PH is equal to 16M$ needed for deployment only. Do you think AM gathered 16M$ from chip sales? Personally I don't think so and considering that they need ~3M$-5M$ for gen4 the money just don't seem enough for all the plans. Feel free to correct me, but with numbers and reasons, not with personal attacks.

That would weight ~40KG!
1910  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What does this mean in Bitcoin mining term? on: August 04, 2014, 12:14:11 AM
Im supposed to buy a 2.4 TH/s miner, and for some reason he told me about 229gb for some reason i still cant figure out why hesaid that.

Why not ask clarifications directly from the seller?

Also what 2.4TH/s miner are you about to buy?
1911  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 04, 2014, 12:08:57 AM
Can someone explain how the September batch 2 SP30s (and I assume other batches) have 2x 1200 watt PSUs and draws 3000 watts at the wall?

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/products/sp30-yukon-september-batch-2

$3895 plus shipping will be well over $4000 for 4.5TH/s in September, mid/late September since it is batch #2 is a pretty high price no?

By well over you mean what price? $10k?
1912  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: AMT users thread. on: August 03, 2014, 09:42:13 PM
PERIOD. BLAME CLENELL FOR THIS, HE CAUSE THIS CLASS ACTION AND THIS SITUATION OTHERWISE WE COULD HAVE OFFERED ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS BEFORE.

It's always the customers fault that the company failed to keep its promises. kslaughter blamed its shareholders, HashFail blames its customers for the bankruptcy and now this. Great!
1913  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] IceDrill.ASIC IPO (235 Thash Mining Operation powered by HashFast) on: August 03, 2014, 09:36:05 PM
HF is dead, but the GN1 is still the best ASIC available and its successors (GN 1.5 and GN2) are even further ahead of the competition.  KnC might bid on the IP just to keep it off the market.

You mean the fastest chip, not the best. Not sure if that is an intentional mistake or just a shill mistake. The best is obviously a combination of high speed and low power consumption. Last I check the GN1 chips isn't the most efficient chip out there.
1914  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: August 03, 2014, 08:19:55 PM
AMT offering 4U/2U and 1U A1/A2 miners.

Those are not your personal miners and this is not a selling thread.
1915  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is pgp really that safe? on: August 03, 2014, 08:17:16 PM
Ever since DPR was arrested, I was wondering how they were able to get into his encrypted stuff. The logical theory is that they were watching him and were able to install a keylogger, if not, they definitely have a back door into pgp and other encryption methods. Or, when they arrested him, he had every thing open, but that doesn't make too much sense. I've always thought that the government must have some way to break into pgp.. I hope im wrong, but they sure did get into his encrypted files quickly..

I thought he was caught in a public library with the laptop unlocked and with everything unencrypted. Maybe his personal stash of 144k bitcoin was/is encrypted and safe, but the rest was in plain sight...sadly.

Having a keylogger on his computer seems very unlikely.
1916  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asicminer News 15-30% of Network on: August 03, 2014, 08:01:35 PM
Well from the Salon looks like I can adjust it to 15 to 20% for the Second Half of 2014

We are back to where we started. 20% out of 160PH=32PH. Unless AM wins the lottery they will not deploy that amount of hashpower this year.

well at least they didnt pre-odered underperforming & overconsuming delayed group buys from SPT.  Tongue

(now i get it why you are so stressed about how or when FC will make some big move - ROI is a bitch ^^)

First of all there is nothing being delayed. Why spread lies? My July SP30 was shipped by SP-Tech on 30 July. As for all the August orders since it's just 3rd August I don't see how can they be delayed. Nobody complained about any delay so stop spreading lies.

I am not stressed at all about FC. I am just stating my opinion. Actually I'm quite relaxed about the announcement because I know that AM doesn't have 30M$ for their big deployment so there is nothing to worry about.

Please tell me what do you think that is the deployment cost per Gh for AM excluding chips that are already paid.
1917  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 03, 2014, 04:34:02 PM
The SP30s will restart a lot for the first 24 hours or so after you plug in the PSUs. The purpose of this is to test the limits of what the PSUs can handle before they go into thermal shutdown. The SP30 brings the PSUs up to the limit of their performance, then over, and remembers the power level at which it exceeded its tolerances. During the next boot, it uses slightly more conservative settings until it never exceeds those tolerances. Personally, I think this is a pretty cool feature (although a little bit crazy). The SP30 basically overclocks itself automatically.

Disconnecting the PSU's power will reset the SP30s knowledge of the PSU's limit, and will cause this algorithm to start again. If you change the cooling conditions for your SP30, you should power cycle your PSUs so the SP30 learns its new limits.

Hello jimmothy,

we sold two of our miners to Marc Coumans and MAT about 3 months ago in the context of negotiations with them.

However, the miners were developed and produced by us. As you can see on the picture there is our ASICrising logo on the board. Here is an image of the testboard which we used to test the first samples of our chips:

Best regards
Markus

Why not show us one gen1 unit running too? I can't believe you only had those 2 units.

Feel free to browse his post history. though if i were he i would be deleting like a madman right about now.

i asked about shipped order numbers as it appears there are less than a handful in the wild.

and im also interested in factual details of the 'compensation package'.

I have not deleted any of my posts and I will not do it. I do take responsibility for what I have said in the past. Can't say the same thing about you since you would delete your posts.

As for the shipping queue if you are not a customer SP-Tech isn't obligated to present you the shipping report daily, same for the compensation package too. There are only a handful in the wild because there were just a few July orders and my July order was shipped in July and until now nobody complained about any delays. August orders will be shipped in August. Since it's just the 3rd day of the month I don't see how can there be tons of units in the wild. Since the compensation package will be offered in October for me as a customer finding the details now or in 2 weeks or in 4 weeks it's exactly the same since whatever I will receive will be in October.

Dunno … maybe RoadStress got an early one ? I remember him crowing a chapter or two back about expecting his first one with Collider.

My unit arrived today in Iceland. I hope to have it hashing online tomorrow if not then it will be online Tuesday for sure.
