1901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 16, 2023, 05:37:18 PM

What I see in this Blazers team ever since is, they will just wait for that "promising" guy that they will be able to pick in the yearly rookie draft and expect that guy to become the next "big deal" for the team like on what happened to Damian Lillard.
I agree. Not really aiming for a championship caliber. They had a lot of chances before with Roy, Aldridge, and Oden. All are wasted.
1977. Their last championship. 92' their last conference championship with Clyde Drexler. After that, 1 conference finals appearance for Damian Lillard against the Warriors. It's a sad story.

They could have had a chance of winning a championship if Oden was not injured, that guy was a very dominant center, his career was just unfortunate. Lillard now is still leading the team, they are exciting to watch because they are an offensive team, unfortunately they always tank in the playoffs.

He barely played even in college dude broke his hand at Ohio state.  The bigger story with that draft was the fact they passed on Kevin Durant for Oden.  Drafting KD would have definitely changed the path of their franchise.  But who knows during the draft what guys will end up like.

Yeah, I remember Greg Oden some time back, had a lot of hype in this center, unfortunately, he was fragile as a china ware that his name becomes synonymous with NBA draft bust. It could have been great if they got KD as number 1 and probably the franchise might be different today. And if I remember it correctly, it was about the time that Brandon Roy is unwinding his career with the Blazers and Aldridge was blossoming as well. Lots of what if with Lillard and this players in Portland.

There was a other name that unfortunately never saw his total potential.  Brandon Roy was straight nasty at his peak.  Think it was his knee that wrecked his career.  He was on the verge of being a top player in the NBA.  And who can forget the biggest one of them all....picking Sam bowie over Michael Jordan 😂

Helium.  Has almost doubled back to $3 this month.  Dipped all the way down to around $1.60.  Good to see a lot of prices on the move.  Long term I don't this this lasting but in the short term definitely money to be made here.  Hopefully bitcoin can sustain over $20k would be good for alt prices.
1904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 15, 2023, 08:23:13 PM
Dame is a superstar there is no doubt about that. Just because he hasn't been himself lately doesn't negate the fact that he is one of the all time greats to play this game. Which is why I wasn't shocked to see him play such a great game. Dallas is still a great team with the core they are building.

Between Spencer and Wood and Doncic, we are looking at three good players there, if they could get just one more superstar to Luka, that team could actually fight for a title, there is no denying that at all. Sure all teams sometimes lose games, everyone does, but if they get another superstar, they would be getting titles.

Dallas without Luka on the court might be one of the worst teams in the league.  They need much more than 1 player to compete for a title, Luka can't do it all on his own.  Wood is a good piece but not the type of player that will tilt their way to a title.  Teams like Denver in 7 game series would eat them up.  Luka is good to carry the team on his own once or twice but no way any team doesn't throw double teams on him all series long.
1905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 15, 2023, 08:19:37 PM
Some early games, missed the Knicks game would have laid in on them in Detroit they have won 11 straight against them.

3 home teams I like today:

Bulls at home +5.5 against the Warriors.  GS isn't that good on the road yet

Nets -5 at home, kyrie needs to cook in this one.

And last gimme Denver at home -10 against Orlando, how can't ypu bet this one!  Jokic should have his way today.

Good luck today everyone!
1906  Economy / Gambling discussion / NFL Playoffs on: January 15, 2023, 08:13:45 PM
Starting this to talk about nfl playoffs

Last night thought I had that chargers game in the bag.  What a comeback by jags :/

Today I got my squad giants +3 and tonight locking in the Bengals.  Just dont think ravens can match up without Lamar going.  Tomorrow I'm leaning Brady and the bucs but will hold off for now.

Who does everyone have today??
1907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Doge can it go 1$ on: January 14, 2023, 08:02:46 PM
Doge can go 1$ many people waiting that.

I dont think can even reach that level, last time might the highest level for dong when elon hype pumped on Wall Street bet meme season, and after that many meme stock crumble to the ground, people learn, those wont repeat to that level again, lot of bag holder waiting for that moment 1$ doge
because it probably will never happen and several times Elon musk tried to tweet about Doge and in the end there was no change in the price. well, maybe those who wait and hope for Doge to reach $ 1 are Doge fans who have been saving and believing in the next bullish price increase.
We really don't know anything that will happen in the future when the bulls arrive, but Doge was able to go up last year because of the hype and in the coming year there will definitely be new hype that everyone will forget about Doge

The problem with doge is the block rewards, they never go down.  It continually pays out 10k doge every minute on average.  Supply just continues to grow and I'm not sure if they will have the same demand as they had last bull run.  Everyone is bag holding right now.
1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you stacking up on? on: January 14, 2023, 08:01:04 PM
As we will most likely continue to see bear market for this year, what are you stacking up on and why? I would love to know so I can see what people are interested and there reasoning for it.

Smiley.

I'm slowly trying to grow a stack of polygon/matic.  They had a good run last bull market but I think they can breakout huge this next one whenever it comes.  They have continued to grow the project in these tough times right now I can only imagine how much more inspired they will be once prices start to rebound.
1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 14, 2023, 07:44:32 PM
I got 5 games tonight usually cap myself at four but these are some good lines.  4 homes teams one away:

Pacers -2, they will avenge their loss in ny
Bulls -4.5
Timberwolves -5 at home, Suns are reeling without Booker
And jazz -6 home against Orlando.

The lone away game I like...the Knicks-4.5. Knicks should roll Washington and actually Julius Randle plays better on the road.

Good luck tonight everyone!
Well, I confess that they will be interesting games!

And I also confess that the Knicks game could be interesting, I don't know, let's see what could happen!

By the way, I realized few people commenting on the Warriors vs Spurs game!!?
Guys, what do you think about this game!!? GSW will win easily?

Unfortunately knicks were up 6 and kuzma shot a meaningless 2 pointer at the buzzer and it went in to make the Knicks win by only 4 losing by the hook Sad

Well 3 games I like today 2 home 1 away.

Boston on the road -8 against Charlotte I like Boston to win by double digits here

Pacers getting +8.5 points at home against the Grizzlies.  Like the backdoor cover but they still lose

And then I like Timberwolves+3.5 at home.  I might actually concede the points and take them in the money line here.

Good luck today everyone!

Reports saying that the Lakers are trying to talk LeBron into riding out this year and then in the offseason they'll try to get Dame or Beal.  I honestly think from a business perspective, this is the only thing that makes sense with Westbrook's contract.  They're going to have to eat that money and then try again to get a championship level point guard.  I'd personally love to see Dame and LeBron play together, as they're both a couple of the best ever at what they do.  They're both getting pretty old though.  I hope there's still time for them to play at a high level.  In any event, this is bad news for people who wanted to see the Lakers in the playoffs this year.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nba/nba-insider-says-the-los-angeles-lakers-are-trying-to-sell-lebron-james-on-acquiring-damian-lillard-or-bradley-beal-this-summer/ar-AA16knMc

I love me some Dame time.  But he is on the backend of his career he can't be the young juice they bring in.  AD and Bron will be another year older.  Bringing in vets barely ever works.  Honestly Beal might be a good option though, haven't followed his injury history although I know he has been out this year a bunch already.  They need bodies on the floor 82 games a year.  That is their issue.

Relatively speaking in terms of crypto yeah its pretty safe but no crypto is safe for certain.  We've all seen what happens to even the "safest" of projects or businesses, they can collapse in a moments notice.  As the story goes don't put in more than you are willing to lose.
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash still king? on: January 13, 2023, 10:31:05 PM
Slogans are never getting old but let's tidy up here: Is Dash still king?

It hasn't been shilled for some time now, which is very bad for Dash.

It has been around for a long time but I haven't heard much from it in the recent years.  As far as dash is king I'd say no since it never was lol.  I remember back when it was dark coin and it got rebranded.  Going to go check it out now what has been up with dash lately.

For the ones who do not follow Collectibles forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5434506.0):
Cold Key owner retrieved private keys of all the sold 'cold wallets' he produced and as he was in need because of gambling he stole all the funds.

Which (apart of obvious sad event for card buyers/owners) is a very problematic for the whole "collectibles" market, any coin/card producer now will be asked twice "how may I trust you?".

Yogg scammed it and stole people's money.  It wasn't all of the cards just a certain series I think but who knows.  There are more still loaded but yeah they can all be able to be considered breached.  Gambling doesn't do this to people, people do this to people.  He stole, whatever the reason he stole from people period.  Nothing to do with gambling, if not gambling it would have been for something else.
1915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 13, 2023, 10:22:43 PM
What a game. The Mavs was leading early and I thought the Lakers won't be able to catch them up but I was wrong. The Lakers though had bad 3-point shooting while Mavs' showed consistent accuracy with their shots.

If you check the stats, you will see that the Lakers made only 10 three-pointers in 41 attempts, while the Mavs made 14 three-pointers in 42 attempts. So I would say both teams made poor three-point shots in this game, even though the Mavs really were slightly better. However, one more thing worth noting is that the Lakers' total field goal percentage was only 39%, and that was probably one of the reasons why they lost this game.

Lakers desperately need AD back they suck without him.  They are a bottom 5-10 team without AD.  With that being said Dallas is just as bad.  Without Luka on the floor they might actually be the worst team in the NBA.  Luka is that good that he is propping that team up.  Knicks own their 1st round pick this year too so no help coming.  Luka is getting wasted on that team.

1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? on: January 12, 2023, 10:18:02 PM
A nice breakout today, as I type this the price of bitcoin is $18,867. We’re up over 7.5% in the last 24 hours. Nobody can complain about seeing a rise like that in the current financial situation Smiley
Now, it is almost $19k. Bitcoin price is $18.9++, it seems we will achieve $19k today.
Anyway, I don't know what the reason behind this rising is. Do you have any clue about this, mate?

It’s difficult to say if the bear market is over. We need to see a much more convincing rise before we can be sure. I still think we will go lower in 2023 at some point but obviously the higher we go, the less confident I’ll be about that.
Agree. At least, Bitcoin price should pass $20k and start to increase constantly to $25k. At this time, we may conclude that the bearish season is over already. For me, $25k is the most crucial rate to determine whether the bearish stays or ends. As long as the price is still below $25k, I personally assume we are still in the bearish. Anyway, I don't think the price will have a chance to be lower than in 2022.

What is the benchmark of $25k mean in terms of market sentiment?  I don't do much TA but is that the 200 day moving average or something?  Don't just use an arbitrary number and think after it reaches over that we are in a bull market.  Crypto spikes all the time, sustained price increase rather than a price benchmark is probably a better way to view market conditions.  Just my 2 Satoshi on it.
1919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 10:15:18 PM
Declining offer in the NBA can become a worse case scenario if you don't have any second plan or someone already have offered you behind the curtain to decline any extension. We already seen some NBA players declining their contract extension and they quickly regret it because their calculations was wrong and they haven't receive the same offer since then. Let's see how will it turned out for JC this time.
Keyword: Dennis Schroder.  Cheesy
I don't know what Clarkson is thinking if ever this is true, the link is unknown to me so I won't jump the gun yet. from @boyptc
But if ever it happens I'd accept what Jazz is offering. It doesn't mean a bigger salary once they put you in the starter unit from the 6th man of the year.
He is changing, I guess it's too obvious not to see.

If I'm not mistaken, Marc Stein also reported this one mate. In any case, it's obvious that Clarkson is looking for a more lucrative contract that the Jazz have offer to him. And besides, they already clear up some of it's player and probably Clarkson doesn't want to stay too and wanted to test the market. It's a big risk for him, he is already 31 years old and probably looking for like 4 year contract which other team might not be willing to give him at this point in his career. There might be some teams are interested, but he could be disappointed on what they are going to offer him. So we will see what the future holds for Clarkson hopefully it will favor him not like Dennis Schroder  Grin.

Might just not like playing and living in Utah either.  They traditionally don't entice too many free agents.  Maybe because they are looking to turn the roster over with all theor draft picks so he sees the writing on the wall and doesn't want to ride pine in his 30s to let some rookie get experience.  There could be a zillion reasons why he declined.
1920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 12, 2023, 09:45:49 PM
Bunch of good games on tonight betting wise.  I like a bunch of the home teams:

Out of the gate gimme THE HAWKS +4.5 at home.  Yeah giannis blah blah.  Hawks on their home court ain't going to be easy and they are getting a decent amount of points.

Knicks -5 over the Pacers.  They avenge the loss against the Bucks Monday night.  Brunson and Randle both go for 30 in a 121-109 win!

Celtics -9 home court gimme celts.

And one road game Suns +14 backdoor cover as they will probably be down by 20 and get points in garbage time to cover.

Good luck everyone!

Another 2-2 night, not bad but not good.  Going for another 4 games, 3 home and 3 away

Nets -2 home vs Boston.  Kyrie leads the team to a big win
76ers -9.5 home vs okc.  No one can contain embid on that squad.
Heat -5.5 against the Bucks.  Bucks on a second game of an away back to back

And then gimme Dallas-3 at Lakers.  Luka takes this one home.

Good luck tonight everyone!
