1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: July 20, 2023, 04:29:06 PM
The first match was a big surprise. Norway were the hot favorites and New Zealand had odds of +750 for this particular match. But in the end the Oceanian women managed to defeat the Scandinavians by a margin of 1-0 (goal scored by Hannah Wilkinson). And despite the concerns raised previously, a massive crowd attended this match. Total attendance was 42,137, and this is just unbelievable for a women's football match. And their neighbors (Australia) also managed to win against the Republic of Ireland, and this particular match had a massive attendance of 75,784.

I almost laid in on new Zealand.  I always like betting on underdog teams that are host nations and I went against my gut.  What a great game they played and with that Norway has to be reeling.  I don't follow too much year by year but know Norway was definitely not supposed to take this loss here.  Looking forward to see the US team tomorrow night.
1062  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SIGNS THAT A CRYPTO PROJECT IS A SCAM on: July 19, 2023, 09:58:00 PM
As cryptocurrency continues to gain popularity, more and more people are investing in various crypto projects. Unfortunately, with this rise in interest comes an increase in scams.

Here are signs that a crypto project may be a scam:

1. Lack of transparency: A legitimate crypto project should have clear information about its team, its technology, and its roadmap. If a project fails to provide this information, or only offers vague promises, it could be a sign that they are hiding something.

2. Unrealistic promises: If a project promises too-good-to-be-true returns on investment, it is likely a scam. While some crypto projects are innovative and have the potential for significant growth, investors should be wary of promises that seem too exaggerated.

3. Lack of community engagement: A legitimate crypto project will have an active and engaged community. If a project lacks social media activity or community interaction, it could be a red flag.

4. No clear use case: A legitimate crypto project should have a clear use case for its token. If a project cannot articulate a clear purpose for its token, or its use case seems vague or broad, it may be a scam.
Before investing in any crypto project, investors should do their research and look for these red flags. By being vigilant, investors can protect themselves from scams and make informed investment decisions.

The clear line that it's a scam us a zillion things but here are two indicators to me:

1)  if a coin is named after another coin its never legit. Those scammers are just trying to scrape some of the success from the coin they named theirs after from

2) planned coin or token burns as a feature.  When a mass amount of tokens are planned to be burned with no mechanism other than someone burning them its a scam.why even build those coins in to begin with only to burn them with the perception of lowering supply lol
1063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A check on your wallet on daily basis can earn you some dollar on: July 19, 2023, 09:50:28 PM
That can be deceiving from just a glance.   There are some cases where a coin will have no volume and people go in and buy a dollars worth at such a high cost to give this impression of a spike when in fact its just that, manipulation.  Nothing goes that high that quick at mass volume.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 19, 2023, 09:40:43 PM
There's a popular  remark among gamblers in the part of  my country I reside. The saying is expressed like this "if you quit that's when you lose".  They use this statement to encourage and give futuristic hope to themselves that no matter how much they loss today or how many wagers they have lost they don't need to quit as it's possible you may be the next jackpot winner tomorrow. For it's like say don't quit yet there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

From what I observed from this statement is that, many of these gamblers have been misled by this very remark of a hypothetical hope which has liquidated their account.  While some who would have quit gambling long ago still hedge their hope on the idea behind the statement and keeps wagering.

Now let's take this to a discuss; how correct is this statement? And is there any similar statement like that in your home-country that's popularly used among gamblers to encourage themselves from quiting gambling because they're losing?
Or would you allow your decision to quit gambling to be affected by any popular statement among your fellow gamblers or it's a no no thing for you?

That's a rediculous statement and I live by this one "you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them".  Quiting isn't losing, continuing to lose is losing lol.  Chasing bad bets one after another is literally the reason why people go belly up.  If you lose move on there's another day.
1065  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 19, 2023, 09:38:23 PM
I actually believe Derrick Rose is still a decent performer. But he is 33. And after two years, he is going to be 35. So it is not going to be surprising at all if he does end up retiring at that time. And I think he will get decent play time considering his age. I also think that he will actually be reliable. At least he will show good performance when he is given play time. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think not many people are going to actually complain about his performance at this age in my opinion.

He still has some gas in the tank I think but I doubt he got signed for his basketball skills. Of course he can still give you some numbers from the bench but he will more likely be used as a mentor for Ja Morant. I mean they are both playing PG and since he is a veteran and Ja has a lot of problems off the court he can give him some valuable insights how to be a professional and also act like one.

The Grizzlies surely have a mentality problem, that's why they developed into the most hated team last season. With Brooks gone and a good mentor on the team maybe they can shake of that reputation.

Rose was pretty good early in his career, and I think now he could have been a GOAT and future Hall of Fame member if that ACL injury hadn't happened. As for the trade, I think the Grizzlies signed him primarily because he can be useful to them on the court since Morant will miss a lot of games next season, not to be Morant's mentor and babysit him.

Rose definitely would have been an alltime great if for not that knee busting loose on him.  Dude was amazing to watch when he was young, fearless which I guess was his downfall.  But in terms of skills he definitely has it in him to run 20 minutes on court.  I'm a knicks fan and he just wasn't in thibs rotation that's all.  Knicks went with a 9 man rotation and he was on the outside looking in just like Fournier was.
1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 19, 2023, 09:35:59 PM
I came across an article How Old Do You Have to Be to Gamble in USA?. In this article, i saw that the minimum age to gamble is between 18 to 21 years. I wonder if the online casino do follow this minimum age for gambling.

Yes, the gambling sites have our age data through the KYC documents. Do they ever restrict anyone who is underage to not to gamble?
Also, if we find any site allowing minors to gamble, can legal action be taken against them?

I can't see how an online site would know unless like you said there was some sort of kyc requirements being met.  In terms of "what could happen" unsure but I know there are some decent sized penalties to brick and morter casinos if they knowingly allow underage kids gamble at theor facility.  Reining in all of this is the difficult part and the folks in charge of that probably have bigger fish to fry than to run down that rabbit hole would be my guess.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 18, 2023, 08:36:50 PM
With James harden trying to force his way out of Philly to the clippers, Ben Simmons shipped out & Markelle Fultz being a flop, it seemed like Philly was resting its hopes on Joel Embiid. Well, now Embiid is saying he doesn’t care what team he plays for, he just wants a championship. It looks like ‘Trust the Process’ may officially be a failure soon.

Embiid's desire to win his first title is understandable. However, I've heard other rumors about him and the 76ers. There's a rumor that Embiid wants to go the way of Dirk and Kobe. In other words, he wants to stay with the 76ers for his entire career and win a title in Philadelphia. If that's true, then the 76ers management should think about building a really strong team before Embiid runs out of patience.

Problem is if they stripped the team it will be tough unless players like Maxey completely step up this year.  I bet every player wants to stick around but when the idea of another rebuild as part of the end of your career that's when it's time to move, like Dame.  Dude has been real loyal to Portland but sees the writing on the wall.
1068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: July 16, 2023, 05:46:44 PM
I dont think matic can goes to $20 even in the next bullish cycle. There are so many interesting project like polygon. The 10 billion total coin also whats holding it below $10. Maybe 2030 when matic burn a lot because of its gas fees also with the dollar hyperinflation.

There are plans to rewamp the Polygon Network, so it's likely we'll see the cryptocurrency reaching the "double digits" within the not-so-distant future. I've read that the developer team is planning to launch a new coin named POL. MATIC holders will be given an equivalent number of POL coins at a 1:1 ratio. I guess this will boost market prices for a short period of time.

Long-term speaking, MATIC (or POL) will be able to hold on its own if developers keep innovating. I'd be suprised if it goes all the way towards the fourth spot in market cap below ETH and BNB. Big names are already launching NFTs on the Polygon chain, so anything's possible. Who knows what the future holds for the cryptocurrency? Just my opinion Smiley

Agreed it all depends on how and when bitcoin runs.  If bitcoin goes to $500k then Polygon can easily go to $20, it would be an almost equivalent increase in price.  Definitely a bright future ahead for polygon but calculating usd is difficult because a lot of it depends on the bitcoin usd price.
1069  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This time for meme coin? on: July 16, 2023, 05:37:09 PM
You probably know that almost all new meme projects are coming out now. Do you think it is really risky? what effect do you think this could have for the bull market!

Risky?  Yeah every single on eof them.  They are literally creating them out of thin air and there is no real project behind the coins.  Most if they say have a project they are building is useless in terms of long term viability.  The memcoin market is driven solely by greed, I'd steer clear of it.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 16, 2023, 05:29:21 PM
I have heard the advice that you should only use money you can afford to lose for gambling. I say that this is more theoretical than practical. Literally no one has money that they can afford to lose. I feel that money for gambling is a matter of opportunity cost. You either use the money for gambling or use it to meet a need. If using money one can afford to lose were practical there will be no need for articles on having a gambling budget or bank roll management. Hey gamblers my question is to you now is, the money you currently plan to use for gambling is it money that you can afford to lose?

I think you are looking past the actual saying and what people talk about.  There is certainly a portion of everyone's money that would negatively affect their lives if they lost it, that's what they are talking about.  If I lost $10 in a certain week it wouldn't change my bills situation, money for gas, food , etc.  If I lost $10k in a certain week that would impact my life greatly.  So what it means is, money that wouldn't move the needle if you lost it.
1071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 16, 2023, 05:26:50 PM
Looks like the Phoenix Suns have addressed they’re not having a backup center by signing Bol Bol to a one year deal. This means they probably won’t be going after JaVale McGee in the free agent market. It also means that DeAndre Ayton had better not get too comfortable on this roster. I am excited that the Suns got Bol Bol though. He’s like a more developed version of Wemby.

It's actually a sneaky good pick up.  He can run the floor for 20 or so minutes and provides outside shooting too.  The difference between ayton and bol bol will be tough to match up against.  Guess that's why they traded away cam to open up cap space.  Suns definitely in a win now mode.
1072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP - why no major pump? What to expect now? on: July 15, 2023, 09:15:06 PM
I have only been invested in XRP for 3 months and its great they have now won the case but I expected more.

For months I have been reading and watching videos online of predictions ranging from $2-10 when they win case and it didnt even reach $1. Why?

I will hold for now and buy more if we go lower but did expect more , what is everyone else thinking?

You have been sold a bag of goods from skillets that's why.  Anyone who claims that a particular altcoin is gonna do X amount without preaching that we must be in a bullun to do so should not be Irving advise.  Xrp was never going to go to $10 lol.  There would be wayyy too much sell pressure on the way up.
1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could XRP win in SEC case be a start for next bull run? on: July 15, 2023, 09:13:23 PM
Bear markets are influenced by negative events, while the other way around for bull, both depending on significant 'base' event, paving way for further.

I believe this xrp ruling could be start of the next bull run, and we will be seeing positive events from now on. Halving is also coming which should propel up the market as well. What do you think?

There are zero altcoins out there that actually start bull runs.  Everything must wait until bitcoin decides to move.  Xrp can run and dip either way it won't create bulls nor bears on the flipside.  It's always positive to have something go crypto way in terms of legalities but that's all it is.  Bull is coming soon just not because of xrp.
1074  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Young people should take more advantage of the crypto space. on: July 15, 2023, 09:11:35 PM
I fully agree with you.  Crypto is only going to be more prevalent in all of our lives every year moving forward.  The early you hop on board the better off you will be.  It's just like any other technology first movers always ride the highest of the waves.  Now is still early.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Appropriate percentage of income for gambling on: July 15, 2023, 09:09:35 PM
I use 5% of my weekly income to gamble and I can not go more than that. Sometimes I can be busy and I can spend less. If a week favours me, I will save my profit and the remaining (5% last week income) for next week gambling. According to what I heard, people spend up to 12% of their weekly income on gamble. I think it is not bad but that gives me the thinking to make a post like this on this forum. What percentage of weekly income do you think is right for gambling?

I don't think there is any good answer the way that question is structured.  If you make $100k a year but your bills are 100k a year then 0% shoukd go towards gambling.  On the flipside if you only make 40k a year and your bills are only 5k or something small a large percentage can go towards gambling.  The right answer is no matter how much money you make only gamble with what you are willing to lose and that doesn't dig into your life's bills
1076  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2023, 09:06:20 PM
An official offer from Miami for Dame has been made. Tyler Herro and a few draft picks. We’ll see what happens there. The big news of the day out of Miami though is Jimmy Butler hooking up with Shakira. I wonder how that’s going to impact his offseason training. Usually famous women don’t have a positive effect on athletes…
You think Portland accept that? I think they will hold out for another player or pick honestly. They're not going to get much more then that considering Lillards age, but 1 more pick is possible.

Far as Shakira and Butler, good for him. She freaking sexy!!!

Agreed that won't get it done.  Their near term picks wouldn't be worth it because good chance they would land at the end of the draft, and if they are years from now that doesn't help their rebuild right now.  Portland has all the time in the world to wait to move Dame.  I can even see this get into the season where Dame is still a blazer.  Blazers know they aren't winning the chip this year they can play chicken with the rest of the league.
1077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 14, 2023, 08:09:09 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
What's your skills and opinion?

Greed.  People look at altcoins as a way to "get in early".  Mostly people who missed the beginning of bitcoin and thinking lightning will strike twice.  A small fraction of people who put theor money into altcoins actually believe in the project.  It's pretty simple, gambling and greed fuel the alt market.
1078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How big is your optimism for crypto investment? on: July 14, 2023, 08:07:27 PM
Huge.  Crypto is still in its infancy in terms of tapping into what it can provide.  The future is bright and that should only bode well for the crypto market as a whole.  I expect as we get through some of the growing pains the crypto fads will slowly fade as the mainstream shift into things like bitcoin/eth etc.
1079  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 14, 2023, 08:05:09 PM
Reports are coming out stating that James Harden is done in a Sixers uniform. Apparently he has had some disagreements with the GM of the Sixers and doesn’t want to play in Philly anymore. Shocker, Harden and Kyrie Irving can’t find places to be happy… People close to Harden are saying he has his heart set on playing for the Clippers this season.

I've seen the news about Clippers too. There's a pretty good squad there, I think Harden can play very well on a team like this. The Clippers are negotiating with a few more players, if they can continue to strengthen the roster, we will see a very good team in the Playoffs. This may be why Harden is so insistent on the Clippers Smiley

I mean a backcourt with Harden amd russ in it what can go wrong lol.  Not that I'm not a fan of either but that seems like fitting a square in a round hole, some things don't make sense and this wouldn't be one of them.  If they made that happen that literally will be the outcome of just throwing stars together to see if they can male it work. Harden isn't the answer for the clips.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 14, 2023, 06:45:37 PM

There is none of a single doubt about the hype between these two can create and that they can surpass the blockbuster hit that Davis and Garcia did in the previous months. I mean, it is given already knowing how Al Haymon kept the right to organize it even if there is already other organizers that wanted to give them those guaranteed money, he know that the revenue in this fight will be much bigger than what is anticipated that is why he didn't gave up those rights because he knew probably at that time that sooner or later, the path of Crawford and Spence will soon cross.

Now everything is almost on his hands. A few more weeks and we will see the fight to happen.

And the good catch here for Al Haymon is the rematch claw that can bring another huge profit. Whatever happened to
this upcoming fight, the chance of a seeing them again is possible.

More money for everyone knowing how the fans will react and how it will be hypes. Socmed is too wide in helping
this match to create viewers and gamblers supports.

Hope we get a good trilogy out of this one.  Although I don't think he will lose, I kinda hope we get a 1-1 situation with a rubber match to take the belts for good.  Haven't laid in a bet yet waiting until we get closer to see if the line swings, but I'm going Crawford KO in about the 8th/9th round.
