Won't help my Fujicoin. That's a k buck down the drain.
Oh well, house is warm. In fact I've actually had to close some windows now that the polar vortex is outside and the AC doesn't kick on either. Go figure.

Why not notify users you're closing the exchange? Because they're robbing you, dolt!

I'm kind of amazed that no one is talking about the major news bombshell that dropped in the US this afternoon.
Yes, the Backstreet boys released a new album today (DNA).
Stunning.

You really can make money doing anything now a days. I bet the owner is driving one hell of a fancy car too. Whatever he is driving, it's a shitbox.

More about the Cryptopia hack:
....
One possible explanation is that Cryptopia had their private keys stored in a single server with no redundancy. If the thieves managed to gain access to this server, they could have downloaded the private keys before wiping them from the server, leaving Cryptopia unable to access their own wallets.
Very interesting. A bit of a data point I will post here, although it involves shitcoins so try not to flame me too much. I used Cryptopia to sell FujiCoins, as did a number of other people. It's a small coin, but I mine it to keep me warm and that's that as they say. A month or two ago I noticed problems in transferring coins in and alerted Cryptopia. They took a week to "rebuild the wallet" then I was back on my merry way. Fortunately I transferred out my few bitpennies before the implosion. Unfortunately it looks like about 1k of FJC was lost. While I do follow the practice of if you don't own your keys you don't own your coin, if you don't put coins on an exchange you really can't trade them. Ah well, shit happens. Sorry for people who lost much, much more. As they say in animal house: "You Fucked up, you trusted us".

Just another worthless cloud shill. I always like the people who go on about how "secure" the cloud is. Sun used to go on about "One arrow, one target" while those of us in the know called it "one egg, one basket".
Eh, whatever. Another case of blame someone else for failure.

This is why I never keep any money on exchanges, thanks Wall Observer for pointing this out time and time again!

No. You need to get two 110v circuits (from different phases), power a socket from that (the two hots), and you get 208v. That would work. Its usually what you find for dryer or ac plugs...
Mild bit: In the US, power is typically delivered by a transformer that takes the high voltage and steps it down to 240v with a center tap. That tap is where you get 120 on each side of your panel, 180 degrees out of phase. In an office, it's stepped down to 3 phase power. From leg to leg it's 208 volts with 3 legs 120 degrees out of phase and 120v comes from tapping a leg to the common center.

She can be appointed head of my wank bank ] Maybe if you could put a gag in her mouth so you wouldn't have to hear her. And a bag on the head so you wouldn't have to see her face. Then maybe.

The key part of seasteading is a higher degree of sovereignty. More than just a house boat. International waters is ideal. Any home in international waters needs to be able to handle the waves.
Our spar design allows us to live above the waves.
I am currently in a boat towing the platform out to international waters where it will be placed on top of a 20 meter long spar. This will allow the platform to be 5 meters above the water. The location we will be has 5 meter waves maybe once in 100 years.
Sweet, and rock on. Next thing to deal with will of course be pirates.

Remember stuffing DIMMs in a PCI (pre-PCIe) card for a faster boot?
Yes. Also AT bus cards. Though they were DIPs at the time. S-100 for the win! UNIBUS, only way to go. Also had the failed unibus address register (FUBAR) which basically told the programmer they were fucked.

Another possibility is to buy a tablet or something and run a wallet there. If you dedicate it you probably won't be running other stuff, the problem then becomes updates and such. Eventually you just get a HW wallet or cold wallets and be done with it.

Is there a demerit button? Newbies who have no coins and come in for a ponzi talk really need negative merit....

Why is it that most interns eaten by lions are hot young girls?
Come to any of the Southern states and you will fine a majority of the girls just as attractive, have fun but warning they are extremely conservative mixed with sluts. Married one. They're weird, you need to know the difference between a hissy fit and a conniption fit.

The UK is going to prosper from leaving the EU, they will be able to set their own laws and restrict the hoarde of migrants at the gates while Europe struggles. That and the the mighty US economy has a special relationship and would choose a begging UK over an over encumbered EU that can't make the same deals.
Well, life is the ultimate bullshit detector, so place your bets and let's see how things look in 2 years....

What’s the best way to short the UK stock market in the event of a hard Brexit?
Invest in Ireland (the real Ireland, not the Orange Order cesspit). They will take the banking and other finance companies from what's left of the UK, eventually they will reunite like Germany and the only thing left of the UK will be London and the Welsh. They can fight over language for all eternity. And good riddance.
