1921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 12, 2023, 09:11:58 PM
Yep completely a KNICK Homer but Jalen Brunson has been an absolute steal in free agency.  Everyone kept saying how the Knicks overpaid, by the end of his contract it might one of the best value contracts in all of NBA.  dude is so clutch in the 4th.  And my boy grimes killing it in the end.
One of the best steals by the Knicks. Thanks to Luka having that big rest in the playoffs he was given more minutes to flex his skills and it's all worth the hard work he did.
Brunson is putting great numbers in his stats. What's more amazing is it doesn't come mostly from long-distance shots.
In that game against the Milwaukee Bucks, he registered 44 points but he only made 4 three's which means 32 points came from the paint or the free-throw line.
And that came from a 6'1 player which is literally the smallest guy on the floor.  Grin How I wish Knicks will keep this guy for a long time and build a team on him.
Man what an ugly game by the Bulls tonight. I am glad I didn’t put down any more btc on it than I did.  They might not have Demar right now, but they don’t need him to be beating teams like the freakin Washington Wizards.  All I can do as a Bulls fan right now is sit and hope for Ball to come back and everyone be healthy, then maybe they’ll have something.
Worst, the Wizards only have Kuzma as a star. KP and Beal are out.
The big question that still loiters in my head is what LaVine did at that last possession. What is he thinking and how come he is trying to shoot a deuce in a 3-point lead game?

Me too.  Dude is a winner.  Led the Villanova team to 2 finals in college.  Has always balled out and is just getting better each year.  Luka is ball dominant so he wasn't being used right over in Dallas.  Knicks got him for 4 years so let's see what the Knicks can put around him.  He isn't even in his prime years yet.  Need grimes to step up then they could have theor back court locked up for awhile.

1923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Polygon (MATIC) to $20? on: January 11, 2023, 10:38:37 PM
Even $20 in 5 years sound unrealistic. Just look at numbers. MATIC historical ATH was about $3. It was during times when Bitcoin cost more than $65k. And someone in clear mind expect MATIC price to be 7 times higher? Then what is going to be Bitcoin or other top altcoin prices? We havent reached ATH, and dont forget about 4 year price cycles. Or someone really thinks that MATIC price will grow itself, across whole market? That is never going to happen. I will have a more believe that new blockchain will be released, that will take MATIC position, then MATIC price to reach $20.

Hitting $20 is really unrealistic and attaining this value could take more than that years. I would say that MATIC will surely hit $5 - $10 once the Bullrun or BTC spikes upward again, and if there is a new blockchain that will pop-up on the cryptomarket then it will be a game-changer and lots of competitors that will also depend on the trend like NFTs.

If bitcoin goes to 100k or 200k why polygon going to $20 is crazy.  In bitcoin bullruns altcoins sometimes take a dramatic step up (and likewise on the way down).  Saying anything in usd is crazy is in fact....crazy!  If you told me before the last bullrun doge would even sniff $.01 people would have said you were crazy and look it blew that away.
1924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 11, 2023, 10:36:12 PM
Bunch of good games on tonight betting wise.  I like a bunch of the home teams:

Out of the gate gimme THE HAWKS +4.5 at home.  Yeah giannis blah blah.  Hawks on their home court ain't going to be easy and they are getting a decent amount of points.

Knicks -5 over the Pacers.  They avenge the loss against the Bucks Monday night.  Brunson and Randle both go for 30 in a 121-109 win!

Celtics -9 home court gimme celts.

And one road game Suns +14 backdoor cover as they will probably be down by 20 and get points in garbage time to cover.

Good luck everyone!
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 11, 2023, 10:31:30 PM
Durant misses at least two weeks, that would be a huge loss to BKN. They rather choose losing to Miami than losing Durant. Just when he broke another record and went up one more place in all time top scorers list, he could've gone one more place next game. I hope he'll return healthy soon.
Kyrie is playing great lately so I don't expect many losses from Brooklyn in this period. Sure Kyrie will use the ball more and Simmons should take more responsibility. T.J. Warren and Watanabe will get more playing time. Coach Vaughn will find a way to win games, Nets have a good squad. I don't think they'll go down just like Suns.

Injuries really spoil the good rally of a team. That was unfortunate to happen now that the team is getting a good winning streak and this is the first time, that their drama stars are working together as a team with no issues or drama or what.

Good thing though that it happened this elimination and not in playoffs.

In the meantime, expect that Irving will do his job in covering what Durant will miss.

The good thing is Durant will be back in less time compared to the expected one month of being sidelined according to the report. The only thing that is left is for them to make up for the 30pts that Durant makes every game. When Durant was out last season, they had an 11-losing streak. Hope they find their rhythm without Durant this time since they are doing very fine this season. It means they have put down the drama.

That's not yet sure if he will indeed comeback much earlier this time and not the whole month expectation, Durant's timeline is not yet discussed because he will be needing some re-evaluation first in the next two weeks. If it will turn out great then it will be safe to assume that a 1 month rest will be too long for him but if that suspected injury is really serious, I guess he will be needing few more weeks. I just hope that it's not that serious though, a game is much interesting to see if the role players are complete.

The entire squad of the Nets need to work together to cover that, KD is not just a scorer but an all-around player, covering his spot should
be done by all 5 players inside the court.

They've got a good chemistry and they just need to continue to play together, even without KD surely, they can still win games.

Hoping for KD's early recovery and not to suffer to any major injury.

Let's hope and see if he is going to need more days to recover in about less than 2 weeks from now, there's no sign yet if his acquired injured is that serious.

While waiting for that, the remaining players should really try and cover his spot. It won't be an easy task of course because just like how you described Durant, he is not that limited to a specific role, but I'm inclined that they can still carry out their task successfully because Irving is still there for the team.

Problem really is reagravating the injury is going to be a concern.  It's a long season and Nets will probably have to manage his minutes during the regular season.  Even if he is fine, dude is almost 7 foot with a knee injury.  Those don't just go away especially after all the miles he already put on those legs.  I say sit him no matter what for awhile.
1926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can players bet on their own games on: January 11, 2023, 10:28:32 PM
With the major sports in the United States all forms of gambling in and around your sport you are in is strictly prohibited even if it's on a game you have no part in.  To keep the legitimacy of the game in tact they want to make sure as much fixing is limited as possible even though it definitely still happens.
1927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NCAA Football National Championship Game - TCU vs Georgia - Betting Thoughts on: January 11, 2023, 10:26:30 PM
Just seen this thread and wow what a game, Georgia completely innihilated the horned frogs.  This has to be one of the most lopsided national championship games ever, no?  I didn't bet on the game because I couldn't figure out either way but if I did it probably would have been on the under.  Fun fact georgia is again favored by vegas to 3 peat next year.  What a dominant season they had.

Edit: just checked, 36 point victory was the widest margin before Georgia crushed that tonight. 58 points! Lol.

This game was interesting for just a couple minutes lol. I don’t get a ton in to college football but always try and watch the championship game, so I stuck it out for most of the game for some reason. What an embarrassment. I asked a few of my buddies which way they were betting ahead of the game and all I got back was a “I’m taking the over”. I regret not following suit.

I didn't think tcu was going to let them score that much which is why I was thinking the under.  Guaranteed the Big-12 has an issue getting a team into the playoffs next year because of this.  They looked like a mid major team playing against Georgia.  One of the worst college games I seen In awhile.  Just imagine the TCU fans that flew out for that lol.

1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Bearish market the right time to buy coins? on: January 09, 2023, 10:47:05 PM
As a general sentiment YES! As Warren buffet has said ypu need to buy when people are fearful and sell when people are greedy.  It's easy buying into a market when it's at the top but the whole point is price appreciation then why wouldn't ypu want to buy when prices are extremely low.  People were buying bitcoin at $50k nothing has changed fundamentally since then so why wouldn't you buy bitcoin at $17k?
1930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra LUNA Classic Price Prediction 2023-2025 on: January 09, 2023, 10:44:51 PM
This thread seems a little pointless.  For any crypto having price predictions into 2025 seem silly, no one and I mean no one knows what the price will be let alone the market.  And then second there is probably a good chance this coin doesn't even exist by then.  What's the point?
1931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 09, 2023, 10:42:59 PM
Everyone is taking the Bucks here which is surprising.  Not because I'm a hard core knick fan but massive amounts of bets on the favorite on the road never usually ends up well.  Yeah they can win but there is an imbalance of bets coming in on the Bucks.  Sad
1932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 09, 2023, 10:41:03 PM
So any update regarding the injury of Kevin Durant?

I think this is a serious matter that we need to discuss because if that injury is so bad and he will be advise to miss the remaining season, the Nets will certainly not be the same team anymore. Durant and Irving were the stars that was carrying the team to where they are now, but without Durant Irving will not make this team a playoff team.
To be fair, Nets will not be playing well with him or without him. Sure they had a good stretch for a while, but Lakers did too, and nobody thinks they will win. Durant being the best scorer we have ever seen, doesn't mean that they are going to win. Look at last year and how they lost even with Durant on the floor, because one guy is not enough usually (well maybe except Lebron).

So all in all, Nets with him or without him will be a bad team, and he should relax and recover properly and not rush back into playing. If he rushes back to make it to playoffs and try to win, the likely chance would be them not winning anything anyway while Durant injuring himself a lot worse.

Durant is going to be re-evaluated in 2 weeks. He has a suspected MCL sprain in his right knee. A shame because the Nets were just starting to get it together. They lean pretty heavily on Durant so the next couple of weeks are going to be rough on them. Hopefully Simmons and some of the other guys will be able to step up and score some baskets, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Yeah they were rolling, this is just going to be a fact of life for him.  Tall bodies as they age never tend to age well.  Their goal should be to get into the playoffs and limit his minutes when he gets back and then unleash him for the playoffs.  Might be worth betting on kyries per game point totals from here on out.  My guess is that he gets 30+ shot opportunities a game with Durant out.

Couple games live got to my picks a little late.  Today it's a mixed bag of home and away games.:

Home:
Pacers -5 against Charlotte, Pacers are playing real solid right now they should take this game
Memphis -8, this should be a blowout

Away:
Nets -3.5, they are rolling why not keep riding them
And minn -2 at Houston.  Wolves need to win these games if they want to sneak back in to the playoff hunt.  They win this one easily.

Good luck everyone.

2-2 last night not good not bad I guess.

As far as tonight I like 3 teams (and possibly a 4th)

Gimme Memphis-10.5 tonight gotta ride them
I like Sacramento at home -6.5
And last I like Nuggets-9.5 at home against the Lakers.  I mean who is going to control jokic lol.

And last my knicks were favored by 2.5 and now all the way down to 1 vs the Bucks.  We all know Bucks are good with giannis but that's a big swing against any home team.  Knicks are rolling...I'm going against the bettors and laying on the KNICKS TONIGHT!!

good luck everyone.

Everyone pretty much nailed it but there is no way to spot the next revolutionary idea from inception.  There are plenty of ideas that sound good in theory but when made practical does not work for one reason or another.  Bitcoin was one of those once in a lifetime ideas and made practical in real life.  If it were easy we'd all be rich 😀
1935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The level on impact of FTX crash on Your portfolio? on: January 08, 2023, 10:21:23 PM
Every market situation always have a high impact on alternative cryptocurrencies more than Bitcoin, this is due to so many features that differentiate Bitcoin from altcoins.
Even though alternative cryptocurrencies are best for short-term speculation and not meant to be held for long due to their unstable market reactions.
So the question is.
1: What is the impact of FTX bankruptcy sega on your
    altcoin portfolio?
2: what is the level of your portfolio recovery because I am well aware that some coins have started recovering already,  but we can't be certain how long that recovery will last.

I mean unless ypu literally had coin on the site and completely lost it then you could determine it.  But in terms of price going up or down you can't specifically say it was directly related to tlftx closing or not.  Am I missing something here in terms of what you are asking?
1936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 08, 2023, 10:14:58 PM
Early games in our timezone again mate. But if Joel is not going to play against the Pistons, Detroit might steal this one, they are the underdog obviously at ML, or 4.5 to 5.5 for them is not that bad.
Oh yes, just finished checking the games for tomorrow.
One at 4 AM and another at 4:30 AM. I am not even awake at this time. No choice but to put our early picks.  Cheesy

Will try my luck with 76ers Embiid-less. Let's see if Harden could at least carry the team while their big man is resting from his foot injury.
Detroit Pistons - Philadelphia 76ers - 76ers -5.5

I don't know why Portland Trail Blazers are an underdog against the Toronto Raptors. I am guessing the combined homecourt and hunger of the Raptors to win because they are now on three losing streak.
Will take the favorite Raptors -3.5.

James Harden is literally carrying the 76ers by himself tonight, he's doing it all, Philadelphia 76ers are leading by 15 points 90-75, and James Harden with triple double already is the joint most-point, joint-most rebound, while also having the most assists in the game so far.

The Raptors is also up by 5 points at halftime, but the game very far from over as the Blazers aren't just going to go away that easily in the second 45 minutes.

I'm going with the Brooklyn Nets -2.5 vs Miami Heat for tonight, the Dallas Mavericks -4.5 points is also something I was willing to give a go on, but definitely not with Luka Doncic out.

Yeah Luka out in any game and Dallas is bound to lose, they aren't a very good team without Luka starting and actually Dallas is +4 not -4.  Either way I was looking at okc -4 at home , Dallas is going to lose a game during this streak why not this one.
1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 08, 2023, 09:47:53 PM
It's looking good for the Chicago Bulls and for their fans out there.
3rd a winning streak. Zach LaVine is sizzling hot. Yesterday 41 points were against the 76ers and now a hot 36 points against the Jazz and defeating them in the process. That's a back-to-back game for him and yet there's no trace of exhaustion.
With him playing like this with most of their games, they will go back to a higher seed in speed. Now, they are sitting at the 9th spot but that should not stop there.
Their next stop is against the Boston Celtics on the road, it will be a rough game for them. Offensive duos will clash at TD Garden.

Yep mate, that's what I have predicted that's why I chooses the Bulls to win again against the struggling Jazz team. Remember that there are rumors that he wants to be traded, but we are not sure about it. But with this performance of him and DeRozan, it's hard to stop them if both star players are playing that offensive basketball.

There were anxious moments in the game wherein I thought that they are going to lose specially at the start of the 4th that they are still trailing. But in the last 8 minutes, both of them turn the game over, they made a run and they build a 10 point lead and that was enough to hold off the Jazz late rally.

If both stars will play in the same level the winning chance of the team is better, those trade rumors might cooldown for a while and we
are seeing good performances from Lavine and DeRozan.

Like you said, if they will continue playing like this and those role players who are playing with them will also contribute decently.

They can move back on top and chase for the playoff spot, too early but hopefully they will.

I keep hearing lavine talks to new york but why would the bulls give up on Levine?  I think it's all talk and click bait.  They knicks have 7 first round picks in the next 5 years but lavine's spot as a guard isn't what the Knicks need.  Depending on how obi rebounds from injury, the Knicks need another viable power forward.  Lavine ain't going anywhere.

Hornets game was a bit weird. I mean you would expect Bucks to play better, but at the same time I really didn't expected Hornets to play this well neither. They played one of the best defences I have seen in a while, the fast breaks after the turnovers caused so much scoring for them, it was really an insane period.

I would expect Bucks to have some bad days, that's normal and nothing weird with that, but to have Hornets play this well? That's very rare and not going to see that again for a while. So, when you have one of the best teams in the league, playing against one of the worst, and the worse one dominates? That becomes something seriously good.

Yeah I went with the Bucks my only loss last night.  That's the NBA though right any given night.

In other news how boutique my NY Knicks with a big win on the road against Toronto who has been playing better of late.  Nice string of wins they are putting together.  They need to try to close the gap on the top 4 teams, they need to rip off another 4-5 games here.  They are looking good so far.
1940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 07, 2023, 10:44:39 PM
Couple odd lines tonight I don't know which way to go.  The only pick I'm convinced is a lock is the Spurs at home +15.  This smells of back door cover all day plus they have been home so this should be an easy cover.

And I'm taking the Pelicans on the road.  Dallas can't keep ripping at this rate I expect a close battle here.  Pels getting +9.5

And last gimme the Warriors-7 at home against Orlando.  That's a tough trip from the east coast.  I like this game.

Good luck everyone!
