1941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gambling Companies and Bitcoin on: September 21, 2022, 11:56:34 AM
I don't think the country itself has any rule/regulation about using Crypto as a payment method? Pretty sure that people wouldn't accept it only if it was stated, otherwise it's okay for people/businesses to use it. I guess the difference between the two is that being accepted as a legal tender is that it's under the law so everything about it's transactions is under the law, while if not accepted (but not banned) is pretty much an "it's your responsibility" kind of thing.
1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino and prisons on: September 21, 2022, 03:50:12 AM
Pretty old article, guessing it happened because a lot of rules were still rather lax back then and they saw reason as to profit from prison (since I reckon casinos aren't as widespread and as visited compared to now). I reckon no cheating happened because well, they're in a prison, an enclosed space, no point in cheating not to mention that they're betting on money and not on their release time (imagine if that was possible lmao). Plus, I think prisons allow simple usage of say cards, dice, etc., so people can still play them imo. I don't think strict implementation is needed if all the prisoners need are simple items like dice, cards, etc.
1943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 20, 2022, 11:57:20 PM
So I just found out that twitch has updated their gambling-related policies today, which seems like an answer to the Sliker issue since it seems like it blew up.
https://twitter.com/twitch/status/1572347129192132611?s=46&t=iEgymbuwfEHY6LTs9dTS6g

Seems like instead of removing it all, they've limited it to a few ones that are the most famous ones. I'm all in for letting sports betting alone since that's kind of a sports-related watch along sometimes, but I doubt poker being left alone was good.
1944  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Spare Change Investment Apps A Good Option on: September 20, 2022, 10:34:46 AM
I think it sounds interesting, especially if you consider how most of the target market of the app is the youth so a lot of the necessary stuff that you'd need to understand is basically automated by the app for the most part. Sure, it may not be the best type of investment to do in terms of profitability, but it would probably be a better option for someone without the knowhow compared to someone who does, plus it doesn't necessarily mean that they'd permanently stay on acorn for investing, it can be an introduction for people instead (which is likely the case most of the time).
1945  Economy / Gambling / Re: Will duelbits pay 20k bet? on: September 20, 2022, 04:34:27 AM
100-1000$ bets they have been paying me until now. But what if put on sport event  bet and make like 12k in a day.  I wonder if they would pay me.
They would unless they've stated otherwise, as long as the casino/bookie you're playing at is a legitimate one. Be prepared for KYC though since high wins like this would most likely put you on their list of accounts to watch, and once you want to withdraw them then they'll likely hit you with that. Casinos aren't exactly poor plebs that they'd risk the reputation they built from years of operation for what, $40,$50k. Or, as I said earlier, if they've clearly set the limit then they've clearly set it up so that the max you'd get would be that amount no matter what you do, which is on their side of things so I see no need to worry about that too much.
1946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 19, 2022, 11:47:12 PM
Well one, I don't think asking for money and failing to repay them is a problem for twitch, it's actually just a problem for the streamer itself and afaik, twitch accepts gambling streams in of itself, which I would assume has some sort of moderation towards showing it to accounts that have kids age (which ofc, can easily be bypassed but that's another thing). Two, this issue better be blown to proportions before we see twitch actually taking action. Proportions to the level where they would investigate the streamer legally at that point.

Seeing lots of people I know have their lives go downhill after being involved with drugs. Was the best motivation for me staying away from drugs. I don't understand how some try not to learn from the life mistakes of others.
Curiosity I guess? Never really had it though but it's probably the only thing children would have when it comes to something their parents keep them away from without actually explaining it in terms that they could udnerstand.
1947  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning From Trading Without Any Professional Knowledge on: September 19, 2022, 11:41:20 AM
A lot of stuff can be learned from the internet nowadays, trading isn't an exception here. The only thing professional guidance can probably save you is time, but other than that, you can almost learn anything that a student under the guidance of an experienced trader could. You could also always do some basic studies and go for long-term investment which won't require you to know the market in-depth which would save a lot of time and stress from trading, which ofc also provides fewer profits.
1948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin as an electronic currency, can it be use for bet gambling on: September 19, 2022, 05:36:50 AM
Pretty sure we're past that point? A lot of casinos and sports bookies have already accepted crypto way long ago and have already established a niche market imo, though tbf it was just an added method of payment, and nothing too complicated was really changed. To take it simply, just imagine anything that money can be used as a medium for payment and stuff, then that's basically the answer for what can Bitcoin be actually used. If it can't be used right now, it simply means that the methods we have are still limited or haven't been implemented, but the possibility is there.
1949  Economy / Gambling / Re: I beat Duelbits on: September 19, 2022, 12:16:51 AM
The only way for you to beat Duelbits (or any casino for that matter) is to not fight(gamble) them in the first place though. Or, you won like a really big amount while proving your losses were below 50% of that amount. And even if you did, say win $100k or more, the only time you'd ever really win is if you don't send that back to the casino by well, playing again since you believe you can achieve the same thing again.

Congrats on the winning bet though. Have fun with it.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you being secretive about your gambling activity? on: September 18, 2022, 01:08:33 PM
100% open. I was being secretive at the beginning, but well no secret can be kept as a secret forever, ended up getting known at some point and I had to spend an enormous amount of time and effort to placate them and indicate that I am aware of what I'm doing and I know my limits. I even had to let them at one point control the amount of money I spend monthly just to show that I'm aware and conscious of my actions. Was definitely not a pleasant experience imo, but I guess it was worth it in the end for the long term.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Choices: Gamble or Help the poor ? on: September 18, 2022, 05:04:12 AM
I'd probably split it, maybe depending on the amount I'd spend then. If it was really low then I might as well just give it but if not, then yes a split. I wouldn't say that I'm an addict but I would prioritize myself, even if you consider it over helping others.

The question is a bit of a trap, because responsible gamblers will have no problem doing it, the problem is gamblers with compulsive behaviors.
It's not so much a trap question rather the answers pretty much force the reasoning in black and white only. If you can't give it, then you're an addict, if you can, then you're not when in reality there can be a few reasons for not helping people. Not wanting to help does not equate to being an addict in gambling imo.
1952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fan Tokens on: September 18, 2022, 12:33:42 AM
It won't blow up that much, might blow up within the local community of those certain fanbases though. Maybe in the short term, since it's new, we all know how a lot of groups take advantage of hypes to build up the market temporarily for anything, look at NFTs. I think it'd be more of like a fan merch stuff, maybe even provide VIP benefits depending on the amount of tokens held on different events, but in the end it'd still be limited on that certain community, hence the limited number of people in the market imo.
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto regulation in the EU and the USA on: September 17, 2022, 02:37:55 PM
It's not really crypto being culled, it's the exchanges. There are still methods for people to transfer outside of exchanges (p2p), it's just that exchanges made transfers pretty comfortable and easy for beginners, so it pretty much stuck. Not to mention that with actual regulations happening, it doesn't actually stray crypto far from adoption but rather it's accepting it, albeit limiting its capabilities. In a sense, we're paying for giving up some of its features in return for "security" given by the government (if you can trust that) and a bunch of other centralized features which make it comfortable for the majority to use.
1954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why going for 1.02 odds and below on: September 17, 2022, 01:18:55 PM
I guess there are just people out there that want to take the safest option as much as possible? I mean I guess that would make them have low a f profit, but well, some people have the mindset of "profit is profit, no matter how small". Especially if you consider how gambling itself can pretty much make your entire bankroll disappear. It probably isn't a matter of even if it's worth it or not cause as you can see it isn't, but it is safe. I guess that's the price they have to pay to be on the safe side.

I bet normally on the teams I like though, regardless of the odds.
1955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casinos vs money laundering. on: September 17, 2022, 05:19:55 AM

There are absolutely no guarantees, this is why as much as possible, you try to avoid platforms with strict KYC. The problem is, most casinos not implementing strict KYCs are only good for a couple of months before they close, either because they are a scam site or that they are ordered to do so by the government. Mishandling of KYC documents is also a valid reason to raise, and we don't know anything whether our personal information is already being sold to a third-party or remains safe at the hands of the government. Whatever it is, KYC remains to be the necessary thing to follow, but we're too conflicted in actually doing it because of a lot of bad things that is associated with completing the said requirement on most casinos.
In the end, it all circles down to how casinos (or any company in general) should better the system of KYC, to the point where the risks involved wouldn't really matter (I could say to completely remove it, but we all know that ain't going to happen). There really isn't going to be a fix here imo, or to the point where necessary documents for KYC are so strict that even if it was somehow leaked, no risk would be possible.
We're still happy with some casinos that don't implement KYC/AML maybe because the money we use is small so this won't be suspicious or investigated by the casino. Whatever we do at the casino makes us smoother in any case it means nothing. suspicion on our account unless other abuse.
Naturally, casinos know that implementation of KYC at registration would shy away most of their users, so they simply set it up so that after a certain point, they'd ask it (especially if you consider how most problems arise from people who gamble a lot, which is understandable imo).
1956  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this Gambling Bot real or fake? on: September 17, 2022, 02:06:21 AM
I bought the bot and gave it a try. Think its not really worth to pay 5$ for 5 days when there are free bots around providing nearly the same. But was fun testing the bot.
Hmm well at least you were able to spend only $5 to test, others would have probably required a monthly subscription or something, or a one-time pay off of sorts. Looking at the images then yea, I'd say there are a lot of bots out there that would be better. Heck even some built-in bots in casinos might be better. I'm just hoping you used it on a throwaway pc (or one you don't normally use/don't have important data) or a VM? If not then you might want to check and scan if something got in your pc, just a safety precaution.
1957  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low is Bitcoin expected to drop? on: September 16, 2022, 11:28:16 AM
I mean if you're asking what I think then $15k would be my prediction, there are a bunch of other predictions probably at $18k, $17k, there were also $20k predictions but as you can see we're past that point. Just goes to show how predictions aren't worth anything, no prediction would actually be right or wrong till the moment it passes, probably the only thing useful in knowing it is in identifying the general sentiment of the investors, at least those that are pretty public with their opinion.
1958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tokens/coins with insanely high inflation will not be not profitable ever on: September 16, 2022, 04:57:23 AM
It's because there's a market behind them whether that market was inflated by behind-the-scenes stuff or natural, most likely the former though. It's almost always newbie investors that get hit, maybe some regular investors get hit as well but they're more on the testing everything around type so it wouldn't be odd for them to invest on some bad coins.

See no matter the number of investors that get hit by these hype coins, they'd always be replaced by new investors since there would always be people who would enter and try investments, and well, we all know how newbie investors get easily hit by these types of projects. Heck these projects might actually be specifically for newbie investors in a sense.
1959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 16, 2022, 12:06:56 AM
At the beginning of my gambling, yep. All the time. I originally had set limits even before since I know how scary it can be if you go past the normal sessions and just go crazy into gambling. It was rather difficult for my wallet at the time so I had no choice but to gradually adjust myself and try to limit it to a level where I can be comfortable, as well as get used to only limiting myself to proper levels. Back then it was rather normal for me to cut my living expenses to add more money to my gambling sessions. I have had some lucky months where I win big, but the losses were still bigger in comparison.
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit 2022 low again? on: September 15, 2022, 12:43:25 PM
I'm rather indifferent to it, but with the current state of the market, it wouldn't be odd for it to go below it. So far though without any stimulus, I think we're still going to hover at the 19k,20k levels. It can also be seen that most dumps past 18k are almost quickly recovered so as long as it isn't a big deal kind of stimulus, then the chances would still be pretty low, though not impossible. I don't think anything would happen even if it goes below it though, probably just a better entry point for investors by then.
