1961  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Proposal to help stop thieves on: September 20, 2012, 03:46:36 PM
What stop someone to attack someone else wallet saying the coins was stolen?
1962  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Proposal to help stop thieves on: September 20, 2012, 03:30:27 PM
Stolen coins should still be spendable as stolen paper money. I don't care about tracking stolen coin to catch the thieve but blocking transaction is bad for Bitcoin. Adding an additional layer of complexity to an already hard to grasp protocol will confuse and turn off the average user.

A trading software: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=98561.new#new
1973  Economy / Trading Discussion / Trading software on: August 04, 2012, 04:04:09 PM
1. What are the different software available for live trading? I know about http://www.sierrachart.com but it doesn't support Linux and I don't like the idea to be dependant of their server.

2. I'm actually learning C++ and I'm thinking about creating a command line trading software. Maybe PHP could be more efficient since I could make a webpage on my VPS? I don't mind learning any language.

3. I feel a bit lost with the JSON format. Anyone have open source example I could look at?

I don't mind buying an affordable software that I could directly setup to use JSON format.

Thank's for help!

EDIT: Found this software list but nothing seem to be a complete solution with Linux support: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Software#PC_apps

the USA will get rid of all bitcoins. Don't be so naive.

Who's being naive here? Are you claiming the US government has the power to eliminate the entire Bitcoin network?

Will they use the same methods that they've used to eliminate drugs and terrorism? ROFL.

There r a lot of ways. I would choose to mimic a bitcoin client to collect IP addresses and DDoS them one by one, day by day. No need to eliminate ENTIRE network. Bring down part of the net to make BTC price go below the floor. Fortunatelly in a couple of years the blockchain will be too huge for usual computers, so I don't need to spend a lot of money to eliminate millions hosts, only few hundred ones.

The world just isn't going to be the same and we have been blessed as the pioneers.

Nah, man. Before BTC hits $1000 price, the USA will get rid of all bitcoins. Don't be so naive.

The USA cant even get rid of a few guys hiding in the desert.

U can't even get rid of a fly hiding in ur room.

I think it is as hard to get rid of Bitcoin than Torrent. DDOS'ing each client would be illegal and would flood legitimate network too. But I might be wrong.

The easiest way to get rid of Bitcoin would be to outlaw wire to exchange and let the banking system do the filtering. Then we will see new third party proxying or "laundering" the money flow for exorbitant fees. It would keep Bitcoin from being massively adopted.

I've sold my house last week. Documents should be signed within 2 weeks at the notary and I will then convert some of the funds into BTC.

Haha, kim dotcom (not saying you are him) is gunna sell his 20 mil USD house and put half into bitcoins, and the other half into lawyers. This thread is getting ridiculous now.
I was ironic. I don't plan on putting all my money on one large buy order so I should not move the market at all.

So you don't deny that it is a 20 mil house...
This is way more than I will ever pay for a house unless it come with a private self-sustaining island.  Cool

Lucky you! We share the same passion for mountaineering. Are you going to do glacier travel or staying where the rock is dry?

Enjoy your trip!

You should hit the securities section and see about options. Maybe you can get a reasonably priced right to buy at $13 for the next month or something.
That's exactly what I was trying to figure right now but I personally wish there will be a small drop in price Cheesy
