1961  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong granted patent for sending BTC thru email on: December 20, 2019, 05:05:56 PM
I haven't looked in detail, but it seems about as useful as contactless payment cards, and I refuse to use, or even have them in my wallet.
1962  Other / Politics & Society / Re: BREAKING: Trump Officially Becomes 3rd U.S. President to be Impeached on: December 19, 2019, 10:14:02 AM
It's all pretty academic anyway, as it is all run by the dynasties that came out of the old British Empire.

Trumps actions have continued the bankrupting of the US, and created a new world alliance between China, Russia and a few other countries. You can see it was all planned by the creation of things like the Schwarzman Scholarship, and Tony Blair is involved in that. The interesting thing is what they will do with the military industrial complex, and pharma industry. It certainly won't benefit the people in the US. Will they make Trump the scapegoat, or has he more work to do? Will they pull the US into an enlarged British Commonwealth after Brexit? That has been the plan for a few hundred years.
1963  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You selling to buy Xmas gifts or using bitcoins to buy Xmas gifts? on: December 18, 2019, 11:47:24 AM
I asked Santa for some Bitcoin for Christmas, but I don't wear stocking any more, so I probably won't get any.
1964  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No ifs, no buts, not maybe Brexit is happening by 31st January 2020. on: December 17, 2019, 10:37:05 AM
Why does everybody keep saying that Britain outside the EU will be nothing. The City of London is the major financial city in the World, even more important than Wall Street. Wall Street handles stocks, but the City of London controls the long term investments of the really wealth, and if you haven't got 300 years of tradition behind you, then they won't trust any parvenu. Britain has a very long history of international trade, and it built the largest empire that has ever existed, and it still controls most of the world. It is heavily involved in wealth transfer, and the EU was one of its creations to take corporate asset stripping up to the stripping of assets from counties. This has been obvious from the 1970s, and people are starting to realise this. A real Brexit will never happen, the real question is how far will Boris go before the puppet masters call a stop.

Bitcoiners understand many of the problems of fist currencies and the central banks. It always surprises me that they don't research the political motivation behind fractional reserve banking, zero interest rates, derivatives, and the creation of the central banks. It's time to forget about the EU. It is a globalist banking concept, and it has run about as far as it can go. I just hope we get free before the damage that toxic debt failures will cause.
1965  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is buying bitcoin using ewallets like Paypal safe? on: December 16, 2019, 10:08:31 AM
Why would you want to use a questionable service like PayPal, when you can use an exchange like Coinbase, and you can control the price you pay for the coins.
1966  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Car and Driver licensing on: December 15, 2019, 09:00:30 PM
Has anybody mentioned that you don't own the software in the various computers that are essential in modern cars? If they take the use of that software away from you, then the vehicle is useless. Expect that to be a penalty for electric car owners in the future.
1967  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The pool of New Cryptocurrency investors are getting smaller on: December 15, 2019, 06:17:57 PM
Crypto currency investors are people and organisations that invest in crypto businesses, and that is increasing dramatically, and even governments are getting involved. Bitcoin speculators seem to have backed off a bit, in view of the current price uncertainty. Long term holders must be increasing, as somebody is buying all the block mining rewards.
1968  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin save US from its rising national debt? on: December 15, 2019, 06:09:40 PM
Bitcoin will just be another option for wealth preservation, alongside gold and silver. Nothing can save the dollar - they will have to shove it under the bus. The US is capable of self-sustenance, so it will have to create an alternative. This will probably be crypto based, but with the potential for government control.
1969  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No ifs, no buts, not maybe Brexit is happening by 31st January 2020. on: December 15, 2019, 10:02:00 AM
If you link trade deals to Brexit withdrawal, then it isn't Brexit. We need to regain complete control, and then leave the industries to sort out trade deals. I hope Boris does try to help us to regain independence, but he is an Eton/Oxford banker, so it is unlikely that he will allow us to break free completely. The EU is controlled by the morphed British Empire, and the ruling dynasties there are the Rothscilds, The Vatican and the British Crown. They also control the UK civil service, Westminster, the police and the judiciary. They also control the mainstream media. It is difficult to see how Boris can get us away from that.

If he really wants to improve the NHS, then banning Statins, repurchasing NHS property, and taking back control of services will save massive cash outflows for generations to come. Lets have some research into the real effects of allopathic drugs, and reduce over prescribing them.

Then he can address banking. The UK used to be a capitalist nation, but the EU is one of the vehicles that has consistently transferred capital out of the country. You can't have capitalism without capital, so lets return to wealth creation, and get back to rebuilding capital and entrepreneurship.

Another thing that most people seem to ignore is the earth's energy balance. Here is a recent article that discusses it.

1971  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What other options do I have when it comes to digital assets ? Besides crypto on: December 14, 2019, 08:14:40 PM
Do you mean digital assets, or virtual assets?

If you mean virtual assets, then there are domain names, e-books, and a few other concepts.
1972  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your thoughts about Greta Thunberg on: December 14, 2019, 07:27:25 PM
You can't destroy or create energy, you can only change its form. This means there is no such thing as renewable energy. If we use solar energy to create electricity, and then transform that into heat, then we are depriving something else of the solar energy.. If we release latent energy in coal or oil, then we are adding to the usable energy resources in the world, but not depriving other parts of the eco-system of the solar power. We need solar power to rehydrate the earth, and to create more carbon based vegetation.

I'll leave you to decide which is the better option.
1973  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your thoughts about Greta Thunberg on: December 14, 2019, 03:20:19 PM
Maybe Bitcoin Talk members are a bit more intelligent, and a lot less gullible than the general public. Of course climate changes, and nobody can deny that, it's the reasons for the change that are important. For example, consider the relationship between CO2 and temperature. A rise in CO2 levels tends to follow a rise in temperature, and not to precede it, and the time span is about 200 years. This is statistically true if you go back over a few thousand years. Then there is the cows farting rubbish. The truth here is that the first stomach of a ruminant is used to ferment the grass ,and the animals live off the products of this fermentation. This is converted into protein and other essentials that are an important part of the ecosystem. Feeding the cows with protein directly messes this up. We need more ruminants, not fewer as the new initiative seems to be demanding.

I'm thinking of using a new slogan - "Help fight climate change - eat a vegan today". Smiley
1974  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you login in this forum with more than one IP address? Risk of banning? on: December 14, 2019, 08:20:43 AM
The only problem you might have if you use public WiFi, is that the provider may block Bitcoin Talk. I've only found this in one place, and I can't remember where it was. It's easy to get round it, just use the Tor window in the Brave browser.

There are no problems with the BitcoinTalk forum though.
1975  Other / Meta / Re: Readdit Karma whores=Bitcointalk merit whores :) on: December 12, 2019, 06:37:53 PM
I want to be a Karma whore, so I've given myself 69 Karma. Smiley
1976  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: US Impeachment on: December 12, 2019, 08:09:36 AM

And US is a much more serious country than brazil.

Are you sure about that?
1977  Other / Meta / Re: Stats on active & merit status of Donators & VIPs on: December 12, 2019, 08:07:01 AM
So we have lost most of our VIPs and donators. Hopefully we can stimulate the forum to avoid losing any more.
1978  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greta Thunberg is the time's person of the year 2019 on: December 11, 2019, 06:13:26 PM
Another misguided kid who has been manipulated by the politically correct educational system. She is a prime example of why the voting age should be increased and not lowered.
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core's prune node. Please help to use it safely. on: December 11, 2019, 11:23:29 AM
You don't have to run a node 24/7, and you can keep the blockchain and wallet data on an external drive. This means that if you are using a notebook in a public space, and it is stolen, you won't lose your coins if the drive is not connected. You should always back up your wallet data and the blockchain regularly as well. An extra USB drive is fairly cheap these days, and it could save you having to download the whole chain in the future.
1980  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Are you a citizen of the world? on: December 10, 2019, 01:11:01 PM
It isn't the imagined desire that is significant, but the actual fact of having done it.
