1301  Other / Serious discussion / Light iron is up from £45 per tonne to £72 on: August 05, 2020, 12:24:03 PM
And that is within the last week or so. It's interesting, as China seems to buy most of the UK scrap metal. Maybe all the recent floods and other problems are causing  them to spend more money on their infrastructure.
1302  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Huawei without Google on: August 05, 2020, 11:45:28 AM
I don't install any social media apps, and I have disabled play services. My phone is not a play thing. Smiley
1303  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't panic about Covid-19 Pandemic on: August 05, 2020, 11:06:59 AM
This mask thing really does seem to affect peoples brains. I was on a naturist beach a while ago, and one guy was naked apart from a mask. I wonder what he did when he went swimming. Another one was a guy walking a dog, and both of them were wearing masks. I'm not sure how he managed to persuade the dog not to rip off the mask.

The ability to warch you tube is really a secondary benefit. I can watch it in a tor window in Brave, but sometimes youtube chucks me off for using a suspect ip. The main use would be to control and monitor a wild life camera. I'm trying to set one up to catch a guy who is stealing aged oak from a conservation area, and trying to kill the trees by slowly severing the roots. The one I have bought has WiFi,and this can be turned on or off from a switch on your wrist. It also gives full access to the images and videos, as well as the setup menu. It's Androis only, so that is why I think I will have to use my smartphone.
1305  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if Corona Virus lasts forever? on: August 04, 2020, 10:09:55 AM
Of course it will be around forever, and it will evolve. I don't worry about it, as so far nobody has died from the virus, and most of us must have immunity by now.

You should worry more about the pharmaceutical companies being around forever in their present form.
1306  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I be young again? on: August 04, 2020, 10:04:15 AM
Well I couldn't read much on that page, as they threw up a couple of blocking rectangles with agreements in them. I stay young and healthy by not agreeing to any of that stuff. Smiley

They also advocate taking supplements, and I think this bad advice. Just do some research, and eat healthy food to gain the minerals you need. You might have to make a few mental adjustments though. Most people throw away some of the most nourishing veggies. Carrot and beetroot tops for example. Also Nigerian grandmothers use ripe bananas ( ie black ) to maintain health, but most westerners throw them away. You can often get 20 of them for about 10p in the supermarket, and you can add them to your cooking.
1307  Other / Politics & Society / China deliberately flooding villages - a taste of the future. on: August 04, 2020, 09:47:32 AM
I know it is China, but it seems that the ruling elite in China have joined with the dynasties controlling the western world, so maybe this callous destruction will be another political export to our countries.

It seems that they are opening the flood gates to drown villages and farms near the overloaded dams. This is causing an increase in death, and a considerable loss of food. The CCP praises the villagers for sacrificing their lives and homes to save the cities. They don't have much choice, as they are not given much notice, and it is often done at night.

The ruling dynasties have no regard for life and health, and we can see this from the way a minor virus was elevated to the status of invasion by aliens.
1308  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Petition to have Fauci of the CDC Executed for Mass Murder, and... on: August 04, 2020, 09:04:51 AM
Well I agree that Fauci is an evil man, and it seems he funded the research that created the virus in Wuhan. I don't agree with you about the use of pharmaceuticals to treat the infection. It is far better to allow people to maintain healthy immune systems, and discard minor viruses naturally.

However, I am a bit ambivalent about medical intervention by direct injection. For example, anti-venom to treat snake bites quite definitely saves lives, and without it, many people would have died before the immune system can overcome the venom.
1309  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what have we earned from handling epidemics on: August 04, 2020, 08:37:51 AM
We have learnt that the pandemic is not a health issue in itself, but is an economic issue, and an attempt to control the health and longevity of the population. As far as I know, nobody has been able to find a person that has died from the virus, all deaths have been from comorbidities. The panic to get a dangerous vaccine into the arms of the world population shows the ease that all healthy people have in creating long term natural immunity.

The to and fro comments about masks show that there is no real research into the cause and treatment of the virus. What we do know is that wearing a mask slows recovery if you are infected. So this ties in with the idea that they have to prevent people from gaining natural immunity, and making vaccines redundant.
1310  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Testing a vaccine against a low risk virus. on: August 04, 2020, 08:17:22 AM
The virus seems to have been created to target certain area of the population, that the likes of Bill Gates and Hilary Clinten state should be part of their eugenics programme. These include those with non-white skins, who find it harder to synthesise vitamin "D", and those who are deprived of food. - which shuts down the immune system. The food element is interesting, as Washington seems to be trying to shut down American farming, and this could reduce the number of poor people in the country. I'm also suspicious of the climate change in countries like China.. A few US politicians have stated that they are able to force a country into submission by changing its climate, and the floods, earthquakes and other problems in China seem to be in excess of natural disasters.
1311  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: August 04, 2020, 07:57:47 AM
As the tide is rolling in... la, la, la. Cheesy

Hopefully the tide is turning. It seems to be accepted pretty generally that Vitamin "D" is a major factor in the boosting of immunity, and treatment of the virus. Most medical practitioners seem to be pushing the purchase of supplements, and it is sad that they can't get off the idea that all cures come out of a bottle, or through a needle. I gather the "D"that comes out of a bottle is inferior, and can cause problems if too much is taken. They seem to be trying to stop people from using free sunlight to boost immunity. Beach parties with free association in the fresh air, and lots of Vitamin"D" generated by the sunlight seems to be a great way to spread immunity. Even better id you swim in the sea and pick up some iodine and other minerals through your skin.

It is difficult to extract vitamin "D"from food, but one source is the common mushroom. This is capable of generating vitamin "D" from sunlight. The only problem is that it is generally grown in the dark. However, even the mushrooms from the supermarket can continue this process if they are left in the sun for an hour or two. Not too long though, as they can become wrinkly like old men. Smiley
1312  Other / Politics & Society / Re: "eat out to help out" Boris's latest idea. on: August 04, 2020, 07:41:29 AM
There doesn't seem to be much of an overhead for the supermarket cafe. They already offer a discount to staff members, who show an ID card to claim it. They have just added another discount category, and there is a printed bar code by the till. scanning this applies the discount. The limit is £10 per person per transaction, but there is no limit to the number of transactions per person. If you want £30 worth of food, then you just split it into 3 visits. I'm not sure if the £10 limit is per transaction,or per discount, maybe I should check that. There isn't much that the government can do to check on claims, so I suspect they probably just pay the cafe on submission of a claim. Maybe C&E will check when they do a VAT inspection.

Since the cafe reopened I've been buying big breakfasts, as that was a good deal ( even better at half the price ). That's sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns, fried bread, and probably something else that I have forgotten. All that is £4.25 with a free cup of coffee, and at half price, I've noticed a couple of people buying two of them. I was shocked to discover that I has assed over 2 Kg to my weight, so I've switched to a couple of poached eggs on a smashed avocado base with an organic peppermint tea. I'm enjoying the change.

I think this could have been a great chance to tackle the obesity issue, and sugar and energy drinks could have been excluded, or possibly subject to an extra tax. Ultra-processed foods like burgers and fake chicken could also have been excluded.

There is now a small sign that explains the 50% discount, but the cafe is still pretty empty, as is the supermarket. It's about 0830 hours on a Tuesday, and I would have expect more customers to be here.
1313  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown restrictions increased to reduce the spread of immunity. on: August 03, 2020, 11:47:02 AM
So you DO BELIEVE in masks.

I believe in self-isolation for some posters. Smiley

Actually I might try it for myself with regards to viruses and vaccination threads. They have become religious beliefs, and you can't rationalise with zealots. No vaxers and no maskers just want to maintain the health that God gave us, and preserve a booming economy and pleasant lifestyle.
1314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Says Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Must Evolve to Reach Mass Adoption on: August 03, 2020, 09:44:24 AM
Well I believe that Satoshi was a small tram working for the central banks, and Bitcoin was an experimental project to explore the possible successors to the failing fiat system. Keeping Bitcoin as a store of wealth is a great option, and they probably own more than half of the coins anyway. The next stage will be to own a few of the mining farms. All that is good news for us if you think about it.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase CEO Says Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Must Evolve to Reach Mass Adoption on: August 03, 2020, 08:22:36 AM
In my opinion Bitcoin was not created for mass adoption. Its 10 minute block generation time, and 21 million cap will stop that. It is far better if it takes its place alongside gold and silver, and the mass  adoption is left to alternative coins, or even government tokens.
1316  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Faucets - Do people still use it, and are they worthwhile? on: August 03, 2020, 08:16:07 AM
I used a faucet to test the wallet in my Bitcoin node when I first set it up. This was useful for me, but, as others have said, if you want to earn a few Satoshi for investment or income, there are a lot of better options. I used the BitBlocks faucet for a while to evaluate that coin, but it hasn't done much, and I doubt if the coins I got are worth more than a penny.

Don't feed Franky, just put him on ignore. I have done it, and it has reduced the aerosolised brown trout in the covid posts. Smiley
1318  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Covid situation in the US perfectly summarized in video form on: August 03, 2020, 07:33:46 AM
Listing a death as Covid reduces paper work I believe. There are several reports of false declarations being made by busy doctors and surgeons. One surgeon actually stated a case. It seems he had attempted an organ transplant on a patient with Covid. This was not successful, and regrettably the patient died. He was told to report it as a Covid death, as this was a simple report. If he had reported it as a transplant failure, there would have been an inquest into the operation, and this involves a considerable amount of paperwork and reporting.
1319  Other / Politics & Society / "eat out to help out" Boris's latest idea. on: August 03, 2020, 07:26:31 AM
This is Boris's latest idea to help revive the high street. If you purchase a meal at participating restaurants, then the government will pay half of the bill, up to a max of £10. Alcohol is not included. I'm in the supermarket cafe for my early morning coffee ( normally £1.45 ), and today it only cost £0.50 (I know, that got me as well ). I didn't intend to stay for long, but I'm tempted to try poached eggs with smashed avocado at half price.

So what do you think? All of the McDonalds are participating, and we know that their ultra-processed foods and sugary drinks contribute to insulin resistance. Should we be encouraging people to eat more of these products, or should they be excluded for health reasons?
1320  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Covid situation in the US perfectly summarized in video form on: August 02, 2020, 04:42:30 PM
I believe there is a virus, but I don't think it is a match for a healthy immune system.
