1181  Other / Off-topic / Re: Contact tracer vs scammers. on: August 21, 2020, 07:29:40 AM
The simple asvice is to avoid all contact tracing apps, and paper work.If you do this then you won't get scammed. Smiley

It is a flawed concept anyway - why would one want to restrict the spread of immunity? Also there is no reliable test for infection, and results are often too late to be useful. More importantly, why would you want to expose yourself to possible government restrictions, when you have built an immunity, and you have a strong immune system as a result of avoiding modern " health care".
1182  Other / Meta / Re: Merit count on: August 21, 2020, 07:18:46 AM
This seems to be moving merit back into the realms of signature sales revenue. I think this is a retrograde step. as merit was intended to provide posters with guidance on the making of quality contributions. It would be better if sig campaign managers spent a bit more time evaluating the recent posts of applicants, rather than just asking for a merit total which may have been manipulated.

Blow the cat! If I am applying for a deviance, then it will have to be stockings and suspenders. Smiley

Does it count if you have a cat under your hat? Smiley
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on price projection on: August 20, 2020, 12:11:57 PM
If you are a long term holder, then don't watch the peaks in the graphs, but watch the trend of the low points. That will give you a feel for the true prospects for the price.
1186  Other / Archival / Re: Question to merit sources on: August 20, 2020, 12:08:02 PM
I'm a merit source, and I award merits to those people who I believe are contributing to the forum, and to posters in topics that I want to encourage. Sometimes I will give a block of merits to a guy to help him rank up, but only if he is a valuable contributor ( in my opinion ), and I don't think he is being rewarded. Of course I don't award merits to anyone I have placed on ignore.

The misunderstanding that merits are only there to help people achieve higher ranks seems to persist. This is not true, merits are there to encourage posters to contribute and help the forum. It is a method of providing peer approval for topics and posters, and should be dependent on rank. Obviously I don't "need" any merits, but I look on merits I receive as encouragement to post. If I don't receive any merits, then it discourages me from posting, as I feel that my comments are unwanted. If you want to keep this forum alive and beneficial, then encourage anyone you think is a useful contributor, and not just the guys who want to rank up to gain higher earnings from a forum that becomes a paid to post business.
1187  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm starting to enjoy the lockdown on: August 20, 2020, 11:52:07 AM
I believe that the worst thing you can do is to stay inside. You should be out in the fresh air, and getting to vitamin "D" from the sun. I eat food from the hedgerows, as it much healthier, so if I had a reduced income, I still wouldn't starve. One advantage of the lock down is that there aren't as many people out and about - they seem to prefer to stay at home, and mess up their health with crappy delivered food.

My biggest problem is finding WiFi that allows me to run my Bitcoin node, and I am quite a bit behind with this. It will be a lot easier if I can increase my power generation capability. A solar panel would be useful, but I have a few problems with mounting it on the roof of the van. I'm continuing to stay off grid as much as possible, and plan to do this for another couple of years.
1188  Other / Politics & Society / Re: social distancing ? covid on: August 20, 2020, 10:38:00 AM
It seems that most people who contact the virus, get infected in their homes. Staying in a closed environment means that if one person gets infected, then evrty one in the household is likely to catch it. The ones that don't seem to be the ones who go out, got a mild infection, and built up a natural immunity.

It really is time that we stopped believing all the nonsense that is being pushed out by the Pharma companies, and we just adopted sensible healthy lifestyles. That way we can save the billions that are going down the Pharma toilet, and we can get back to work. More people are dying from the effects of the lock downs, than are dying from all of the viruses combined.
1189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: August 20, 2020, 10:06:23 AM
I'm starting to see people calling it a "casedemic". The problem doesn't seem to be the virus itself, that seems to be fairly mild by virus severity standards, although it may well be very contagious. The real epidemic seems to be the false and manipulated reports of infections, and the distortion of the effects. All this seems to be designed to persuade large numbers of the population to accept unnecessary. dangerous and crippling vaccines. It is also a good excuse to create vast quantities of worthless fiat currencies that can be used to purchase real assets for the bankers, and to destroy small farmers and businesses to expand the scope of the globalist corporations.
1190  Other / Off-topic / Re: This is why china is one of the largest country ever. on: August 19, 2020, 09:11:41 AM
China's problem is famine, and not the virus. Malnourished people have weakened immune systems, and this can allow Covid to thrive.
1191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia has developed covid-19 vaccine. on: August 19, 2020, 09:07:01 AM

You know, it is all about money. There are a lot of pharmaceutical companies that are US-based

I agree that it is mainly about money, but it is also about population control.

The Pharma companies are supra national, and this means they are above the US. In fact their finances are closer to the City of London, than the US. Much of the Corona virus research was done in the Wuhan labs, and funded by Fauci. They probably control the Russian virus development as well. It is difficult to understand their motives in allowing this vaccine to be released so early. Maybe they want it to fail, and persuade people that they need to use a "safer" one of their choosing. However, with any luck the failure of the Russian vaccine will turn people away from artificial control of their immune system, and lead to a revival in natural immunity.
1192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: August 19, 2020, 07:27:48 AM
Covid is not the important issue - it is a recent variant of a 90 year old family of viruses, and a half-way decent immune system can knock it on the head in a couple of days. It won't be the cause of a new normal. The new normal will be an economic reset as the puppet masters change the world currencies, and an increase in unhealthy food, as they try to move us to synthetic products to benefit the money Pharmers.

Please can you post in plain text.

I had to copy and paste to read that dreadful formatting. It's a big disincentive if you want people to read your posts.
1194  Other / Politics & Society / Re: social distancing ? covid on: August 18, 2020, 09:42:17 AM
If there is a second wave, then it will be the result of manufactured fake stats. Most people now have immunity to what has transpired to be a minor epidemic. As yet, no healthy person has died from the virus. but they suppress that info with fake stats, You know that Big Pharma is concerned about the population becoming immune, because they are rushing to bypass all the safety precautions that are in place to check vaccines. It takes a minimum of 4 years to provide basic tests, and probably in excess of 20 years to ensure safety. Current testing just looks for the production of antibodies created from synthetic viruses, and evaluates the pharmaceuticals that are required to overcome the side effects. Hopefully they won't allow any vaccines to be adopted for mass use - we can't afford the resulting medical costs involved in treated the cripples that will be created.

And what if it turns out to be the US who created and released the virus. Should they have to pay
1196  Other / Off-topic / Re: Trailers and UK government regulations. on: August 17, 2020, 10:41:18 AM
I guess I wqas just having a whinge about the regulations that are now being imposed  on the use of a small trailer. Some are fairly obvious, such as the use of lights at night, but a few iot the others are a bit excessive, in my opinion, for what used to be a simple household utility option.
1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: August 17, 2020, 10:18:55 AM
The real challenge is educating those who don't use computers.
You need to start with a fairly simple system, and I've found that a chromebook is best. Then you have to get them used to using google, youtube and email. Once they are comfortable with that. Then you can move them onto online banking, and making payments through the panel. Describing Bitcoin is quite difficult, and I have found it is easier if you can think of an analogy. The UK land registry seems to be a good example. You can point out that all the details are stored in a variety of records in a computer based ledger, and items can be added or sold from that collection of records. The whole collection of records comprises a description of the property owned. Once you have got them to understand those basic concepts, then you can start to describe the actual mechanics of Bitcoin.
1198  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Misuse of hand sanitizers dangerous to health on: August 17, 2020, 09:58:08 AM
Wash your hands to remove dirt and pollutants, but the natural bacteria on your skin is most effective in destroying viruses. That the way we have been protected for thousands of years, and excessive use of hand sanitisers just kills these beneficial bacteria, and leaves you unprotected when it has evaporated. I understand that the Corona virus  can't last for longer than 5 minutes on hands and arms with natural protection

Colas have too much sugar, and contribute to insuling resistance.
Modern bread is deficient in minerals and nutrients. Sourdough is the best - fermentation helps a lot with digestion.
If you have acid reflusx then sodium bicarb is a great help, and sometimes I add a pinch to a cup of coffee.
1200  Other / Serious discussion / Re: My notebook upgrades on: August 16, 2020, 04:34:14 PM
I installed the latest Ubuntu on the netbook, and I'm using it to post this. First impression is that it is fantastic. It installed without any problems, and it seems to have found all of the features on the netbook. Even the touch screen works. It logged ito the Morrison's wifi without any problems, and even managed to open the account. Windows 10 often struggles to do this.

I'll probably run my node on this machine using an external SSD. The hard drive is slightly too samll - I think it is 32Gb, and it can't be upgraded.
