Typical crypto bear market.  Was a rough year but a much needed one.  With every massive bubble this pop needs to happen.  I expect next year to be some sideways numbers, I don't expect it to continue to fall at this massive rate.  Then hopefully by 2025 or so we start going back up.

How in the world did SBF decide that gambling was the best course of action for recovering the funds? It seems to me that he has terrible friends around him.  Have you ever thought of gambling as way to recover your funds and pay your debts? Does this look like a case of compulsive gambling?

Because he is just some guy.  People make him out to be some smart savvy dude.  He used quick books to run his company ff sake.  He is just a small time idiot who hit it big on ftx and for some reason people used his exchange for their personal wallet with him holding the keys to that fortune.  People who kept money there are just as stupid as Sam is/was.  Dude gonna sit in the Bernie madoff cell now.

Liss poor game by the Knicks.  Blew rhs 44 point night.  The ending of that game last night was brutal.  Jaylen brunson missed 2 free throws while the Knicks were up 1 point which would have stretched it to 2.  Then derozen with a last second fade away shot to win by 1 point.  Brutal...that's the game though onto the next one.

Couple good games on tonight.  Laying off my knicks tonight without knowing if grimes is playing or not.  Tonight I like:

Sixers at home -3.5
Atlanta at home -8.5
And I like the under on the miami/Pacers game 223.5

Good luck everyone

3 for 3 good way to end the week going into a no game nba day.  Tomorrow christmas lineup is a good one.  The sixers made me sweat out that win taking the game by 5 and that under barely hit at 219 but it hit.  For some reason heat and Pacers games always are tough defensive games.  Will enjoy the day off and get back at it tomorrow!
1985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the bear market over? on: December 23, 2022, 10:36:53 PM
These posts come up every cycle.  The quick answer is no one knows otherwise everyone would win.  Half the people will say no the other half will say yes and whoever is right will say "see I told you" and think they can predict future crypto markets.  Funny but it happens every year.
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can CEX's prove their solvency? on: December 23, 2022, 10:32:05 PM
Honestly I don't think they ever could.  The easiest way to solve these issues is to NOT use the exchange as a personal wallet.  Deposit, trade and move your crypto off.  Little to no risk so long as it's a reputable CEX with little time of exposure.

Celtics are doing fine, it's okay to have losing streaks time to time, allows players to get out of that mindset of everything is guaranteed. If you keep winning all season, the players wouldn't know what to do when they are losing, so you need to have some losses here and there in order to make them realize even they could lose, no matter how good they were before, they are in a loss streak now and need to learn how to rebound from there and be better again.

This would allow them to seize chances and come back better during playoffs if it ever happens. They fought hard last year at finals, warriors is not going to be there this time around, they need to be ready for another chance.

Celtics will be just fine, and I'm a knick fan it hurts me to say this but they will be a top 3 team in the East so long as they run out Tatum and jaylen brown for the foreseeable future.  I can easily see them going to at least the eastern conference finals.  They are built to win myltigame series.
1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the Next Great 1000x on: December 22, 2022, 10:58:28 PM
I've seen a couple or so newbie accounts asking for a 'criteria' on how to choose an altcoin that would have the greatest potential to be a 1000x coin.

I'm gonna throw around some ideas but as all of you already know, this is in no way financial advice.  This is just all for the lulz and it would be cool if you guys throw your own ideas in the mix too...  So here goes.

Criteria to find the next 1000x coin:

It must not be listed in any of the major exchanges.  This is not a hard rule but I noticed that 1000x coins are mostly unknown.

It must have a dog logo.  What can I say, memecoins seem to go up by a lot more than the rest of the market.

Be mindful of market cap.  The lower, the better.  If a coin's market cap is 100m, 1000x would be 100b.  Lol.  It would take a lot of money to pump it that high.  But if the market cap is just 1 million, 1000x would be 1 billion.  It's much more possible it could happen imho.

That's it for now.

Edit:  Great criteria here...

I would like to add that it needs to be new token/coin that people haven't yet tweeted about, at least not too much. Preferably with no advertising bounties. Old projects under 10M marketcap have either died or something bad has happened behind the scene. Something that no one is interested in them, so unless you know some inside news about those, you are betting on a dead horse.

Also no price talk on the channel gives a professional touch that makes me think it's already more mature and professional then 90% projects out there.

I hope this is a joke.  Meme coins were a fad and there are zillions of them now.  All exactly the same just clone coins that serve zero purpose.  If you missed the meme craze then it's gone that's it.  No one knows the next fad otherwise everyone would pile in.  Your best bet is just to steer clear altogether and not lose all of your money which will most likely happen to most people chasing profits.
1990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 22, 2022, 10:26:14 PM
Looks like we've got 2 games on the schedule for today as we get ready for the Christmas day NBA extravaganza.  First up is the Spurs vs the Pelicans.  I'm thinking the Pelicans should take this one easily the way they've been playing this season and the Spurs are still looking like a tank for the draft candidate.  Then we've got the Wizards and the Jazz.  I think this game could go either way.  I tend to think the Wizards have a better shot than the oddsmakers are giving them against Utah though.  I think they may clear the spread...
Do Spurs eager to get Wemby as per I read on some insiders report? For me it would be a game changer for the Spurs since they dominated the league in 2014, it's almost a decade though and the big 3 already retired and some of the players in that championship built team already on other teams or already retired too.

Problem with tanking in the NBA is it doesn't guarantee you the top spot like in the NFL.  In fact you have a less than 25% chance to land the #1 as the last place team.  Knicks were in last during the zion draft and ended up getting 3rd and missed out on zion and ja morant.  If in a club I don't care what happens I'm not tanking.  Decimated your fanbase and doesn't guarantee anything.

True, it's not guarantee that you will get the 1st pick if you even try to tank for this season and think that you will be the first one to select next season's pick, it's not the way the NBA works.

So there is a gamble here that might not pay dividends in the end. And even if you get the player you wanted, you just don't know if he will be a bust as we all know that there are a lot of high picks that went bust in the last couple of years. So it might be good to just play as hard as you can this season and hope that you will land a good pick in the draft night.

And just seeing the rigors of basketball landing a 7'4" guy doesn't exactly always work out.  Almost be nice to land in the 2 hoke so you can draft scoot Henderson.  That kid is electric and players like that tend to adapt well to the NBA.  I'm just not big on oversized players that are nimble, nba bodies break them down.

After world cup.... you can see a really really bad tatoos coming. And more obvisuly comes from the country who its the champion.

I share with you this one... Messi in corticosteroids.

No words...

I mean I have seen some bad tattoos before but this one is up there.  Without a doubt there will be worse ones though which is scary.  Happens after every superbowl people go out and get drunk tattoos and wake up to a nightmare lol.  That one is gonna keep me laughing for awhile though

Alright so don't kick me for this but I've seen through the years when everyone is so hell bent on a team vegas usually wins.  I'm going the opposite as everyone else.

Spurs +8.5 on the road
Wizards +7 on the road against the Jazz.

I don't like it but I have to do it.

Enjoy the games people.

Without an all-star beside Luka, he will never win a title. That's how NBA is right now. In order for a team to win, you need to have at least 2 all star player on the team. You expect them to be in the play-in tournament. I believe they might make a roster change or make some trades this season, and maybe that might change the tempo of the team. I expect them to be at the 5-8th spot. Slightly higher than your prediction.

Luka is the main man of the Mavericks, he is the Kobe Bryant of LA Lakers and Giannis of Bucks, so you can't really expect to win without him. Dallas IMO are better this season, though they have struggle this early but comes playoffs, Wood will be very useful as they have a good scorer inside unlike last season.

But Luka has nobody to depend on because the team's situation is highly depending on him and him alone, the rookie might be giving some improvements but, in the end, Luka still needed to carry the whole team because he doesn't have someone to rely on unlike Kobe Bryant and Giannis who have Shaquille O'Neal and Khris Middleton, respectively.

Which explains again why they are struggling this season, but that rookie Christian Wood though, maybe this time will be much different. Anyway, let's see.

Luka is doing this all with scrubs around him.  I don't expect Dallas to do anything significant this year.  Tes can hyper focus defense on Luka with that squad they throw out there night after night.  Sad really cause the dude could be even better than he is which is crazy to say.

How about them NY KNICKS!!  I know they were without steph but first time knicks beat the dubs in NY since 2013.  8 wins in a row in what looks like the dominant eastern division.  Over these 8 games Knicks have been the top defensive team in basketball.  Reminds me of old school knicks.  Starting to really like this squad.
1996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dogecoin Dead ? on: December 20, 2022, 09:52:36 PM
I don't think people understand that the eme coin craze was just a fad, with doge being the leader.  There is literally no need for it in the market and the only people holding it up at this point is the bagholders that bought into the idea that doge will actually be worth something someday.
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io ⚾ Major League Baseball (MLB) ⚾ [Discussion thread] on: December 20, 2022, 09:50:55 PM
Those odds for the San Fran giants don't look half bad.  41-1.  They are in a very tough division but they have a solid squad.  Boston is 34-1 and their team has completely dismantled at this point outside of Devers.  I might throw a little change on those odds.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: December 20, 2022, 09:16:26 PM
@YuginKadoya, bad day for you, 1 out 3, not so good. OKC was playing like a playoff team, they have the composure to win games as they have their main man who is also a clutch player. That's the game I suppose to win because I was thinking there will be an upset,  unfortunately, I chickened out when I check the stats, LOL.

The easiest game last night IMO was the Suns spread, they totally dominated the Lakers.

Man! I was really unlucky and a close game at it, well that was really a bad decision I didn't realize how good the Oklahoma Thunders could be, and because of their injuries I have bet but surely there are times that the Trail Blazers surprise us aswell, and it is pretty much a close game so there is no need to be ashamed,

And because of that I really need to get back what I have lost so here is my pick for the games tomorrow,

Detroit Pistons VS Utah Jazz

The stake odds for this game are 2.22 for the Pistons and 1.70 for the Jazz, right now we all know Cade Cunningham is out, Isaiah Livers can not play for the Pistons, and the Jazz, Johnny Juzang can not play for the team, while Collin Sexton and Kelly Olynyk are questionable if they can play for the Jazz, for me, I really like the Jazz but I am going with the Jazz not because I like them but I think the Detroit Pistons are surely under the standing of the NBA so I will go with the Jazz,

Miami Heat VS Chicago Bulls

The stake odds for this game are 1.54 for the Heat and 2.55 for the Bulls, right now Omer Yurtseven and Gabe Vincent can not play for the Heat, and Dewayne Dedmon, Kyle Lowry, Udonis Haslem, Caleb Martin, and Jimmy Butler are questionable if they can play, while Lonzo Ball can not play for the Bulls, while Javonte Green is questionable if he can play for the Bulls, Even though there are many injuries and questionable for the Heat, I am still going with the Heat, because Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, and Victor Oladipo is still playing and Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Caleb Martin still can able to play but maybe  with a limited time only,

New York Knicks VS Golden State Warriors

The stake odds for this game are 1.51 for the Knicks and 2.65 for the Warriors, right now Obi Toppin can not play for the Knicks, while we all know that Stephen Curry and Andrew Wiggins can not play while Jonathan Kuminga, Donte DiVincenzo, and Klay Thompson is questionable if they can play, for the Warriors right now the Knicks is going well with their game, but the Warriors have many injuries, but still just like I have said even though the Warriors doesn't have Curry and Wiggins, there are players that still going to stand-up, but this is going to be a close game for sure but I will get my luck with the Golden State Warriors,

Denver Nuggets VS Memphis Grizzlies

The stake odds for this game are 2.03 for the Nuggets and 1.83 for the Grizzlies, Right now Collin Gillespie can not play for the Nuggets, and Michael Porter Jr. Jamal Murray, Nikola Jokic, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Jeff Green are questionable if they can play, Danny Green and Desmond Bane can not play for the Grizzlies, for this game the Nuggets is not doing so well right now and for me I am going for the Grizzlies,

I'm with you with the Miami and jazz games.  But I'm taking the Knicks.  Since thibs has changed the rotation knicks defense has been great and won the last 7 in a row.  If golden state was healthy I'd think otherwise but west coast trip coming east is not the easiest travel especially them they aren't that good on the road at full strength.  Think knicms win by 10 here
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 20, 2022, 09:12:12 PM
I was totally shocked to find when I was looking at NBA 2022-2023 Team Payrolls and saw that San Antonio's Team Payroll is half of GSW total team payroll.  When I look at the standings in the West it's like SA isn't all that far from where GS is in the playoff hunt.   I know GSW will make the playoffs somehow this year but the team salary difference is crazy.

https://hoopshype.com/salaries/

That's what happens when ypu have multiple homegrown players that became superstars.  These teams can offer them more money and tend to keep them.  The Spurs got rid of anyone they would have offered max contracts too.  Usually to open up cap space to get good young guys on the squad then offer a couple big contracts to lure free agents.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World cup highest goal scorers update discussion on: December 20, 2022, 09:08:24 PM
Seems like the GOAT is practically over after Leo Messi won the world cup that shock the whole world. There are past heroes that tried but couldn't, Messi made the difference. Let's take for instance,
Pele never won a European title.
Maradona never won a copa American.
Ronaldo never won a UCL title.
Cristiano Ronaldo never won a world cup, and there's Messi who won everything.

I get what ypu are saying but you can't entirely fault a player for never winning some national team event.  They are a key piece to it but if your keeper sucls what are ypu going to do about it.  GOAT conversations will always be open ended.  I like to think of it in tiers right.  This group of players were the best of all time and so on.  It's fractional on how you put one ahead of the other.
