1981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Whitepapers to Read as a Beginner? on: April 05, 2023, 07:42:41 PM
I find myself reading Whitepapers and barely understanding any of the technical languages or being able to formulate any form of assessment. I was hoping anyone would have recommendations for me and/or others on this forum to read to truly gauge many of the concepts and technicality.
If those whitepapers are old enough you could just use programs like chatgpt to summarize them to you like you wouldn't have highscool level of education or something like that. And if you have have an access to chatgpt4 you can do that with any whitepaper.

And i admit that some whitepapers are very technical, like the team would have included yellow papers in them. But just looking at the paper that's too technical doesn't help you so yo could just ask from the team if they have eli5 versions of their white papers, vision papers or one pagers. If they don't they are not doing a very good job with their pr. In most cases they want to explain their tech to everyone out there and if you need a phd to understand the basics of the tech, i am not so sure it will be adopted so easily.
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: they change the way we handle money and own things ? on: April 05, 2023, 07:30:10 PM
as decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and non fungible tokens (NFTs) become more popular, will they change the way we handle money and own things,

or will they only be used by a small group of people(like now being used) ?
Current method won't change anything, but the basics are there for someone to build protocols that could be a platform for future stock exchange for example.

Biggest problem i see for this system to overcome are the native tokens (or coins). As decentralized systems need them for incentives and any goverment could attack on them banning their trade against fiat pairs. That would lower the incentives and while doing so decrease number of people who would want to keep the chain secure.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: April 05, 2023, 07:23:30 PM
AI only does analysis based on the data, it has no feeling. for example, milan playing against napoli, this was a game that happened days ago, but it serves as a good example, the AI would analyze all data and without a doubt it would predict that Napoli would win the game, that's because napoli is on top from Serie A, it has good defense, good attack and has already beaten milan in the past, while milan are not doing well in the league. it's all data that the AI would make it favor Napoli, so you would be convinced that napoli would win the game, so what could go wrong with the AI's prediction? well, what the AI could not analyze would be the following: Napoli players went to play in their countries' national teams, with that you would come back worn out, mainly because it is not easy to play in Africa

in addition to the temperatures in africa not being easy to deal with, the games also have a lot of physical contact, so when napoli's main player returned, he returned injured, without the main striker napoli was left with a weakened attack, with that it could already be predicted that napoli would not be able to win the game, but for the AI that only analyzes data, there would be no way to analyze this very important factor, only a human could think that way, the AI does not serve as something guaranteed in the analysis of a game, in sports betting i I would not trust any AI, I prefer to do analyzes alone, it is safer in my opinion, there are people who prefer to pay others or listen to others, these people would use AI

Rather then asking for a winner you could ask for an analysis summary of the teams that are playing against each other, and that would show if there are any injuries etc and remember to add them to summary of the team (what kind of injury, how long to recover etc). Imho you are underestimating how exponential has the growth been and what's the near future is going to be like. For example ChatGPT4 is already online seeking real time data and can make and run programs. Unless if you are following sports you are betting to for work, you won't have the necessary data to form your opinions from and AI can summarise it for you. As you can just ask if you can't find something.

But i am not saying they are doing a best possible job now, but progression has been increasing so fast that i don't think we need to wait for too much longer for way more accurate predictions from AI.
1984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Surprise back!!!! on: April 04, 2023, 08:46:52 PM
Omg some time ago Elon Musk again shocked the cryptocurrency community by changing his Twitter home profile and as the owner of Twitter which became the symbol of Doge Coin, now Doge has increased by 24% recorded today at https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/dogecoin there is always this behavior of influential people.
Do you think Elonmusk's movement can make Doge return to the moon?
Sure, it can bring doge to moon but it can also get elon rekt as this is exactly what the lawsuit was about in the first place. This taunting isn't helping his case and most likely backfires badly.
Elon's networth is currently $202.4 billion while lawsuit is $258 billion. So not only elon would have to sell EVERYTHING. He would most likely be jailed as well. I wonder who would get the twitter in auction Tongue.
1985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE surges as Twitter change its website icon to Doge on: April 04, 2023, 04:59:04 PM
The guy has Aspergers. It's been known afaik, kids who have this always have a playful mind. It's annoying sometimes but creative at the same time.

But he must be playing around. He always does. But we really can see the effect of it when he does something with Doge. It suddenly can change the market by a simple prank but I still can see the Doge logo. What happens to the Twitter coin plan if he will just use Doge on Twitter?
Sure, i have aspergers too. That doesn't make people annoying, it amongst other things means you need to be extremely direct with communication. They can seem like they disrespect other people but that's that's an error in communication with other neurotypes. You cant hide behind autism to justify shitty behavior side. Autists often know when they are acting wrong and can easily apoligize their melt downs etc. People aren't disliking him because he is rich, there's a reason why his family left him and more i learn about him and his attitude, more i

And don't get me wrong, he has his good side, i have liked him in the past, but people seem to overestimate how intelligent and capable he is just because he has been the richest man in the world. That doesn't obviously guarantee he would know how laws and world work. Lawsuit being example A.

Found from the internet, i guess he wanted to do that as he still can:
1986  Other / Politics & Society / Re: I love politics and I want to be clean politician! on: April 04, 2023, 03:10:38 PM
Definitely possible. If you want to be a transparent politician, you have to promise to always treat people well. Being a good politician is very testing in the current context of the country. No matter how bad the condition of the country is, no matter how bad the people are, no matter how bad the politics are, there are still good people in it. The most important thing is your mindset. If your mindset is good and you plan ahead, you can definitely be a good politician.
I am guessing that most politicians want to do this, but they have different solutions to it. Some regulations will always be considered as "taking away rights" from some people, while they help other  people. When you try to implement equality without ableism some people will lose their "rights" to suppress or hurt other people. These people consider those laws evil, even though they would be helping everyone in a long run. You can please everyone so "treating people well" is always a matter of perspective to some people.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How honest and transparent are casinos? on: April 03, 2023, 10:33:18 PM
I have seen several casinos with promotions where they do "drops" to thousands of people or they give bonuses to several gamblers, but how transparent is this process?

Do you think casinos are really doing these drops to 1000s of people or are they skimming from the top.... ? They might say a drop is for 2500 people, but they might only drop for 500 people and nobody will know. Yes, some of those 500 people will report that they have received the drop and it will look legit.... but is it really?

How can the gamblers verify that the actual amount of people are receiving the drop or the bonus, if there are no list to verify it? Let's discuss this.. I am curious if other people also thought about this...  Tongue
Often we can't as individuals, or least i don't know a way. But when we think it trough, i wouldn't be worried. As casinos are trading millions in a day wouldn't need to cheat. Because getting caught would mean people would talk about it. And you would need only few people to first start a doubt, and confirm such a thing could be catastrophic to the casino. And once again, they have money to pay and it's peanuts to them, so why wouldn't they pay, as at the same time it's excellent marketing tactic.
1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What crypto porfolio trackers are people using? on: April 03, 2023, 10:20:44 PM
Delta Investment Tracker. Hands down.

I've used many crypto portfolio apps and this was the first one that had everything i had. I should get paid as i am constantly promoting them to my friends and everyone but the gui is sleek, it has real time crypto / exchanges wallet tracking to stocks and it even upgraded to NFTs which suits me just fine now that i am flipping those. I don't even know what other free app would have more features. But i would definitely like to know.

Only negative side of it is constant watching of the portfolio. That can be unhealthy as you wouldn't need to react to price movements so fast when you are hodling. But when you are looking a way to report your taxes, having every wallet automatic transaction history in one place is pretty handy.
1989  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io|🎉BetFury Affiliate Program is live| 💸Earn with RevShare up to 60% on: April 03, 2023, 10:00:15 PM
I don't think Betfury have been backing their token lately. The casino is not promoting BFG. There is no use for the token other than steaking. Betfury needs to invest more in marketing the BFG. Only with this approach can we think about listing on major crypto exchanges.
I agree, but what other use cases there would be for BFG than staking (if by staking you mean getting dividends from casino profits). It was the only reason the whole token was build.
My problem isn't with advertising (although they could be doing more) and the fact that only use case is staking. Mine is the fact that future of the tokenomics of it are unclear.
Staking and getting dividends as only use case is fine to me.
1990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE surges as Twitter change its website icon to Doge on: April 03, 2023, 09:05:07 PM
This is insanity.
Why in the world would any serious businessman would do this? It seems that at this point Twitter is just a toy for Elon Musk to mess with rather than a way for him to made money off. It is not even April 1th anymore.

Imagine serious people from around the world login on their accounts to see that, not even mentioning that this does not help the case against his alleged inside trading accusations.

Some may say that Twitter is too big to fall, but if things continue to get weirder and weirder, it may be just a matter of time before people get fed up and move onto a competing platform.   Roll Eyes

I am thinking he has totally lost it. Acting like edgy 14 year old and trying to make some sort of point about lawsuit against him:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/elon-musk-requests-dismissal-of-258b-dogecoin-lawsuit-report
This is definitely connected. I guess he thinks he can't lose more by showing big middle finger to prosecutors about the lawsuit.
But this is definitely going to put more gasoline on the fire. He could end up losing bloody everything. And he has a lot to lose.
1991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Solana hit $40 this year? on: April 03, 2023, 08:55:29 PM
Why would you settle for that? $40 is just 100%, that's nothing in crypto world especially with altcoins what can be insanely volatile.
But answer to the question is that anything can happen in 9 months. Funny enough sol price was around $20 two years ago and from there it raised over 10x in 8 months. So yes, 2x is doable.

-cut-
Maybe i am noob at economics and you have to explain to be basics, but i can't see any connection with this and the possible crash.
This just means there are more workforce wanted so business should be doing good. Not to mention how good this is in individual level as you wouln't have to worry about not getting a new job if you get kicked from the old one.

Other points made sense to me.
1993  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitnity.com - a community-driven gambling platform on: April 02, 2023, 11:43:50 PM
Gavin (bitnity dev) finally appeared in the discord yesterday and told that they are looking for private investors now.
I didn't participate their bounty but out of interest i have been monitoring it to check their legitimacy and looks like Gavin hasn't paid the promised tokens yet even though the deadline has passed. That's a scam in my books, and i am still waiting for a while until i give temporary red trust to this account. I will remove it if he pays the promised tokens.

1994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: April 02, 2023, 11:36:59 PM
Now that chatgpt4 can access to net, the whole system is on a different level. Now you definitely can have an edge. If you are not trusting the AI, you can just ask pointers from it. Like compile information from any data found from the internet. That makes the whole prediction more accurate when you can access to data that almost feels like inside information. And you don't have to have any knowledge about anything. You can just compare the data and make decision.

And best part is. You don't even need to do that manually if you don't want. ChatGPT4 can run programs. That's right. You could just set it up to make bets for you. I am pretty sure someone somewhere is already selling this service forward.
1995  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance - a new problem on the horizon? on: April 02, 2023, 11:07:47 PM
The largest crypto exchange in the world, Binance, is going through hard times. The American regulator sued her, management was caught lying about working in China, and analysts found out that the exchange was donating to the Russian army.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) filed a lawsuit on March 27 against Binance Holdings Ltd and its CEO Changpeng Zhao. The lawsuit alleges that the exchange violated the rules for trading derivatives, writes Bloomberg.

The regulator said that Binance was required to register properly many years ago, but did not do so. The lawsuit alleges that the crypto exchange “disregarded applicable federal laws by facilitating the expansion of Binance’s U.S. customer base because it was beneficial to it.”

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-27/crypto-exchange-binance-sued-by-us-cftc-for-alleged-derivatives-rule-lapses

This time, the accusations look more severe, plus the "darling" of previously unresolved problems. What is your opinion - what are the prospects for the development of the conflict and the impact on the crypto market?
I admit that lying and not following sanctions is sounding bad. But i am not so sure that breaknig sanctions were intentional. Most likely sloppy work that can happen when people fake their kycs. If it was intentional it's a whole different case, but that's not for me to decide and i leave that to investigators. But frankly this won't shut down binance. Probably not even jailing CZ wouldn't shut binance down. I think that they will be fined and after that it's business as usual. They are just too big of a company right now and it's not just one man behind it.
1996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A crypto world without CEXs...How would it be? on: April 02, 2023, 10:30:10 PM
If major countries around the world decide to reject crypto/Blockchain tech sometime in the future, there's a high probability CEXs (centralized exchanges) will cease to exist. They will shut down their operations as crypto is declared "illegal" for mainstream use. Without an on/off ramp to/from the Fiat and crypto worlds, I wonder how would the industry survive?

Will a world without CEXs mark the end of crypto? I know crypto is decentralized, but the truth is that CEXs provide most of the liquidity of the market. DEXs are "second-hand" options that have their own set of issues. Either mainstream adoption for crypto/Blockchain tech starts to decline, or all the other way around. We've seen how exchanges have been "closing up shop" in the US due to strict regulations. What makes you think other countries will tighten regulations especially when they claim crypto can be used to avoid sanctions?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
Well we would lose those institutional investors we wanted to get in for so long. At your scenario there wouldn't be instant ban, as laws don't move as quickly we would have some time to prepare. But that prepariing would most likely be massive panic and people would try to escape out before fiat pairs would be banned.

This would lead to lack of liquidity and total price crash. Most likely lots of people would even short it with leverage. I could see we might go back to 2013-2014 prices. As that what was happening before legit investors came. There were few big whales but it was a joke compared to current markets.

In the end we would be coming back to roots. People trading p2p, hard to say how many people would do that but it would be way harder and charts wouldn't really exist as they are now.
Some people would keep trading altcoin pairs (not stable coins tho). This would totally be a nerd and geek game after that. Some might think it would be a step up.
1997  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is politics supposed to be for the old ones? on: April 02, 2023, 10:17:45 PM
In some countries I believe that the set of people who runs political affairs are the old ones and is really worrisome, talking about age range 70yrs and above. Like in my country where I'm from these set of people (politicians) just feel they are the only ones fit to run the country and you find it hard to see someone between the age of 40yrs and above to rule as president or any higher position, is really outrageous and irritating. Why is greed speaking more in politics? Must every politician(s) think only about themselves other than the citizens?

I really don't blame most countries that engages in protest year in year out, nobody would be happy to have guys who ship in money into the development of their own businesses other than developing the country.
I am assuming you are younger. So why why not get involved in politics? You really can't complain of wrong people doing wrong politics if you are not doing anything. You can obviously vote for younger candinates, but you also can be a candinate. Politics only change by people changing it. If young people won't vote, there will be most likely old people in charge. As old people might not trust young and inexperienced politicians.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 01, 2023, 10:48:33 PM
I am just curious about how does online casino pay for their promotion on their influencers?
They are dealing with some serious capital. I mean there are people winning millions and it doesn't even scratch them.
To get some idea how much money flows trough them, you can watch live bets people are making in casinos and sports in front page of stake.com for example
You can see that people are playing tens of thousands in a second and that's just in the casino side. There are plenty more bets made in sports section.

Where does their earning comes from?
They have a house edge, so from pure mathematical probability.

How will you get scammed when you try online casino?
How can you tell that online casino is safe?
If you get scammed, there are several ways to do it, but if you suspect foul play, don't deposit or connect your wallet into it.
You can tell that casino is safe when it has a long history and strong community behind it. Preferably they are also talking in open forum.
1999  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: April 01, 2023, 09:49:35 PM
It is not just disappointing, but also very frustrating 😤, this is actually something I've experienced my self, and I tell you it wasnt funny, I was trying to get a bonus of $10 and in the process, lost about $72, at the end of it all, even after getting the bonus, I was still very angry at myself for being so stupid.

This is why I no longer care much about bonuses, most especially, the ones that come with wager requirements, though many still are very lucky as they get to win even bigger amount of money while chasing to meet a wager requirement to claim a bonus, but still, those who are unlucky still are unlucky.
I am with you on this, bonuses are what they say they are, they shouldn't be goals, just nice bonuses you can get when you play enough. Most of the bonuses i got i was surprised to get them. And i got them to the top of winning strike too. I find that trying to gamble because of the bonus is just an excuse i tell myself to gamble when i am losing. Fighting against that urge when you don't want to gamble is part of the game, and can feel pretty good when you have control over yourself.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Skill Based Slot Machines on: April 01, 2023, 09:36:27 PM
Today I am reading about skill based slot machines which is very popular among millennials. This is the first time I am reading this in my life as a gambler. All that I have known about slot machines is that the outcome is purely based on luck1 as a result of the Random number Generator (RGN). From what I read, the major difference between this skill based slot machines and the regular/traditional ones we know is that there is a bonus round for the players to2 display their skills which gives them a greater chance of winning. Despite this, the odds are still stacked up against the player.
Has anyone here tried it out?
Which do you prefer, traditional slots or skill-based slots?

1. http://bostonsportsextra.com/skill-based-slot-machines-what-are-they-and-how-they-work/
2. http://web.archive.org/slot1.sbs/76959.html
Article doesn't name one skill based slot so i am not aware of any of those. Can we try those out in any crypto casinos and could someone name one of the slots or slot provider that makes those?
But i remain skeptical. As you couldn't beat the house, otherwise they wouldn't be builded. That means that even with best outcome you would probably make less winnings then with some of the other slots out there. Those could be fun though.

In Finland we actually had physical slot machines in 80s that could be beaten by real skill, they were called payazzos. They were very difficult to beat but not impossible and technically you could have build a device that helps you but you couldn't use them without anyone noticing.
