Yes your are right. BTC is only a hash value and we should be able to lawfully trade them without fear.

I got my first BTC via MB but if asked I would not have mentioned it was for BTC...
1983  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: predictions for next hack on: August 04, 2012, 12:55:06 AM
IDK about their mixing service... is hacking the later that profitable?

Not much is stored in the mixer, 100's rather than 1000's.

As for the wallet service it would be very difficult for any intruder to modify the client side js unnoticed. Multisig support is not far off anyway.
I'm anxiously awaiting this! It will be awesome to manage project without a need to trust my partner.

Maybe users should read the FAQ before complaining.

I've been using MB/Skrill since 2006 for online poker and never had any problem with them.

However, I know some others players who got their account temporarily frozen for ID verification. They are enforcing the same KYC rules as Mt-Gox... This is standard procedure especially for a company that process CC deposit.

They have the lowest conversion fee from US/CAN I found on the net and my cashout usually show-up within 24h into my bank account.

This is not anti-Bitcoin policy... It's CC fraud prevention procedure.

My modem was 300 baud. I could read the BBS as fast as it loaded.
Computer display was green and black.
No HDD and no mouse. Everything booted from a 360 or 800 kB 5-1/4 inch floppy disk.
Apple, Atari and Amiga was the way to go for personal computing... IBM was crap.

Then...

My 386 needed a mathematical coprocessor to do 3D drawing.
Windows 95 and it's GUI was a novelty.
7+ X 3.5" 1.44 MB floppy disk was needed to install some software.

I think the world government will mutually destroys themselves before I launch my first blockchain satellite.

I doubt the US or China are going anywhere in the next few centuries.  China is historically an incredibly stable civilization and America is backed up by the most incredibly powerful military the world has ever seen.  The two nations will keep the peace in the interest of their real goals,  world economic domination and control of information.  Replacing physical currencies with easily monitored and regulated electronic currencies like Bitcoin is merely a step in that process.
So you're saying I will never launch my own satellite?

Thank's for bringing me back to reality.  Sad

J'utilisais Neteller pour le poker avant 2006. Depuis le UIGEA, les canadiens et américains sont interdits. Il me semble que les frais était élevés...

Bitcoin withdrawal is working now.

Thank you BTC-E, this matter has been handled well. I will continue trading on your platform.

This event should remind everyone to change their password on BTC-E as a precaution. Or anywhere else the same password is used.

Ouff!

I was one of the first trading BTC at 39$ each. At first I thought a trading bot went wrong. My $ withdrawal never went trough. Then when I saw every BTC getting drained I knew something was definitely very wrong. Went to bed and now everything seem to have been rolled back.   Cheesy

Stressful event... I really thought a significant part of my BTC was wubbed! That's why I spread all my funds between different exchange and a cold storage wallet.  Shocked

EDIT: I wish my balance is real BTC

Withdrawal BTC is temporary off.

This might not end well.

Dear users of the Exchange Btc-e.com

The exchange is not going to close. We will refund all losses from our reserves.

Neither the servers nor the database were compromised. There were no SQL injections.

At 04:07 MSK (GMT+4) our LR API Secret Key was compromised. It's 16 uppercase, lowercase letters and digits. They may have bruteforced it for long.

Using the key the hacker imitated LR deposits from many accounts and bought up Bitcoins, Namecoins and Litecoins.

We lost our daily volume, approx. 4500 BTC. The attacker couldn't withdraw more
as most BTC were distributed over several offline wallets.

At 10:30 we restored the database to the state it was at 04:00, right before the attack. All trades after 4:00 are reverted.

People who attempted withdrawals before 04:00 MSK will get their funds withdrawn later today.

For people who deposited BTC, LTC and NMC after 04:00 MSK the funds will be put to their balances before market opens.
We are working on the scripts for this.

If you deposited USD after 04:00 MSK you should send us your login, amount and payment system used by email or PM.

Our plan:

1. The trade will be disabled until we restore the balances to the point before market crash.

2. After that, the trade and deposit/withdrawal will be back on, approx. within 1-2 days.

It's faster to setup BAMT Linux than Windows. It needs less resource and it's open source like BTC!

If you can BIOS flash 5 6870s or 6950s and setup BAMT in 38 minutes then yes Linux is faster.  Win 7 x 64 install with SP1, ATI driver, MSI afterburner, Trixx took 38 minutes to get my 6870s to run 965/175.  I doubt you can do that with BAMT.  Linux uses less resources, but on a dedicated miner does it matter?

If electricity cost is not an issue then go with BAMT, but I get much lower mem clocks more easily with Win 7 setups and that saves me over 110 Watts per rig (5 6870s).
I've played only with 5xxx series cards. Is it easy to run Win7 X64 on a USB stick with 1GB of ram?

But I get your point about 6xxx series  Wink
