1981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your plan with Bitcoin? on: September 08, 2022, 05:19:06 AM
Just wondering how everyone else invests in Bitcoin? How often do you buy and how long do you plan to hold?
I try to be pretty stable with it but I mostly do it every 2 weeks at least or 1 month at max depending on the current state of my funds. I plan to hold for a long time, especially with the current state we have right now, I see no plans to actually sell and I suck at trading so big no for that one. Been DCA'ing since when Bitcoin started dipping from the last ATH, afaik I'm down by quite a bit but I don't really mind. I don't (and want) to look at it since might get weak hands if I do.
1982  Economy / Gambling / Re: Decentraly.co - Your Place for Crypto Sites on: September 08, 2022, 01:33:20 AM
What do you think about the design? Please let me know.
The design looks pretty neat and clean tbh, just that I think it's pretty lacking in content. Plus as others have said, I think your criteria could be included, maybe in a separate tab so other curious people can know about your specific criteria and possibly the sources that you've used. Other than that, well, it's like any other review site imo, so if you're not planning to change that, adding more content would be your best bet.

I've seen your website and the first thing came to my mind is pf.guru which is also the creator of bitpr0. I've seen some similarities like the top 5 list of various casinos.

I'm just a little bit confused, I just don't get it why would bitpr0 have the "OG site". As far as I know you just asked for help with bitpr0 but is it right to give the label of OG site to bitpr0 even if this is your new own site?
Might be as credit since as OP said, the design team basically helped a LOT in the development of the site so they're pretty close to being like half of the developer for the site or something.
1983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: chance to win, so you keep holding on? on: September 07, 2022, 09:48:18 AM
Sooo OP wants some games to play in simple words? I'm not particularly sure though if he's talking about gambling games in general or p2e games since there's a difference between the two. If it was the former then I don't honestly think it matters, try them all and see what you enjoy since every gambling game is reliant on luck anyway whether it's slots, dice, etc., unless you go for sports gambling. Maybe Poker, Blackjack and other types of similar card games but they're still highly reliant on luck. If it was the latter though, then you're in the wrong board mate.
1984  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some Crazy Fun Facts About Casinos And Gambling You Might Not Know. on: September 07, 2022, 05:26:28 AM
~
Gambling is not only prevalent among the prisoners that have a lot of influence but among the whole inmate population, after all even something as simple as a single coin can be used to create a gambling game around it.

So when we think about this it should not be strange at all to find a lot of gambling in almost any prison around the world, even those which are located in countries in which their religion or the law forbids this practice.
I mean if you consider it, prisoners have a limited number of activities that they could do, gambling or specifically, card (e.g. poker, blackjack) games are one of them. It's relatively simple of material as well so I don't think there'd be suspicions of anything illegal being entered through it.

what inspired the FedEx story is how the right decision was made by the owner in using the money left in his pocket to bet it on the gambling table

I often hear of people who use the money left in their pockets to gamble but most of them end up losing, and the story of the FedEx owner is really risky to be imitated by those who still can't control themselves

I wouldn't even call the FedEx story an inspirational type of thing since in a sense, gambling it all away is also a form of giving up. That specific case was just the man being plain lucky, nothing more and nothing else. People shouldn't really view it as anything more than that.
1985  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [NEWS] Gambler Charged with Murder after Letting Kids Die on: September 07, 2022, 01:24:34 AM
Oh man this isn't even just about gambling imo, it's about proper child management in general. Man idk how the idea of leaving a 2 and 3 year old kid in a car for 6 hours was a good idea on her end. And it's even more so considering how her cousin described her as a "caring mother".
Quote
The culprit’s cousin, Lisacious Williams, meanwhile, said that the situation couldn’t have been deliberate. According to Williams, Battle was a really caring mother and the whole situation must be a “careless mistake.”
It wasn't a simple "careless" mistake,  it was a lethal mistake. One I'd consider a "caring" mother wouldn't make imo.
I wonder why it's called murder though.
I think it's considered a negligent homicide, if I used that correctly?
1986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto has the highest potential?? on: September 06, 2022, 11:23:57 AM
I think I'd go for Ethereum, Solana, and Cardano from your list? Ethereum is pretty well known and there's also the 2.0 thingy that they're doing and it's also the better option compared to altcoins. Soalan and Cardano are just personal picks for me, they're pretty good coins from what I've observed so far in terms of investment. I do hold them pretty short, like I just buy them at one point and when I can get a bit of profit I just bail out immediately. imo still do your own DYOR and just generally take the top 10 coins imo.
1987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: September 06, 2022, 04:13:29 AM
when they are gamblers who are used to it and earn income from gambling, they will find it difficult to stop.
For regular gamblers, especially those who think their gambling activities have no problems, surely never think to stop. They have no reasons to stop, right? Moreover, the gamblers who often win some money from gambling, it even becomes a profitable thing to do. Only those gamblers who have a problem with self-control or addiction, are recommended to stop.
I mean If they were doing well with gambling as a source of income I honestly wouldn't stop them, but if they do, and rather than just equaling the wins and losses but rather losing in the negative, then I'd just stop. It's plausible and I wouldn't really consider it as an impossibility, but only a small amount would be able to actually do so.

It becomes a healthy activity or bad activity, depending on our way in gambling. As long as we gamble in the right way, nothing wrong with gambling. It can give us entertainment, it leads us to happiness. But if we gamble in the wrong way, it can lead to bad habits. By the way, to have good self-control in gambling, it isn't a must to be a professional. It is about our understanding, awareness, responsibility, and how mature our mindsets in gambling.
Just make sure it doesn't negatively affect you, both financially and mentally. Pretty short, but that's basically it imo.
1988  Economy / Economics / Re: Will crypto jobs make government jobs irrelevant in the near future? on: September 06, 2022, 12:45:42 AM
I don't even think there's a problem here. There are a LOT of people out there that would take up a government job imo since, well, it's the government. They occupy a huge number and will always accept people, and there are always people that are looking for jobs. The crypto market may have more opportunities and whatnot, but it's only a part of the entire job market, not to mention the uncertainties in certain jobs (such as trading).

Other people will always want to fill up when  government official leave or retire from duty but if crypto jobs pay higher won't this individuals  want to give their best to what pays them better.

Crypto had vast opportunities it just that many people aren't aware of this offers and they stick to the regular daily jobs they are used to
Doesn't that mean that people should've just idk, went for tech dev since those kinds of jobs pay higher? Individuals have their own wants for what jobs they want imo, pay isn't the only thing that is involved when it comes to choosing your job, though I won't deny that it's a large factor. Crypto has vast opportunities IF you know how to use them and develop them and even then, not everyone would actually know (or want) to do it imo.
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your Set Of Action When Your Account Face An Issue on: September 05, 2022, 01:06:42 PM
Gather every single possible evidence of transactions and games that I could scrounge up from my account and then present my case to their support directly. I honestly think posting in forums like this place is a last resort kind of thing since it isn't exactly a guarantee that they'd see it, let alone actually react to it. Might as well just spam them like 2,3 times for my issue and if they say something about fixing it, then all is good. If they say they can't fix it though, well, time to let the masses know and let them judge.
1990  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin, Not for everyone. on: September 05, 2022, 05:39:49 AM
And meanwhile here I am pretty satisfied with the Bitcoin I have (which has a bunch of zeroes behind that decimal point). I honestly don't think it's much of an issue even, heck Bitcoin being transacted even with values below 1 is what makes it another good option as a payment method and also enables other late investors to enter and own Bitcoin. Just invest and buy what you can afford, buying 1 Bitcoin does make you kind of like a premium but honestly, that's like a self-praise kind of thing imo. However much you have, it doesn't remove the fact that you own Bitcoin.
1991  Economy / Speculation / Re: Stressful crypto market on: September 05, 2022, 12:07:46 AM
People can freely buy Bitcoin though? I think the limit would be based on the platform you use, but people can buy Bitcoin, you don't need to buy exactly 1. Honestly what you see as a "small amount" is only because of the high price that Bitcoin has right now, but technically the percentage of profit you get would be the same as any other investor (though the amount wouldn't be since well, the amount invested is directly different). And additionally, dips are opportunities imo, especially for new investors.
1992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Strategies & Betting Psychology on: September 04, 2022, 12:33:14 PM
There's a LOT of stuff there I must say, I'd probably suggest going there if you only have a specific issue or strategy in mind you want to check. Might even be better if OP's recommendation had a summarization for newbies and then specific articles for the other stuff.

I think most people don't really use strategies or don't mind them is because it only makes their betting efficient, but not effective (If I used those terms correctly). It's not a guaranteed way of profiting, like a 100% win rate for example, but rather if you use strategies and whatnot, you can potentially out win your losses in the long term.
1993  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - days since last all time high on: September 04, 2022, 04:12:22 AM
I'm of the opinion that we're on the low already, or even if it goes down more it wouldn't be that big of a dip. The dip might happen with the Mt. Gox issue finally being over or released since that's the most likely event that would push the price down even more (so far that is). I'm thinking it'd trade sideways for a few more months before we're able to see any more dips possible, probably at the end of the year or somewhere close. I'm still going to hold though and just wait for the bull market to start.
1994  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think bear market is affecting Bitcoin (Crypto currencies) so badly on: September 03, 2022, 11:06:18 PM
You don't have to if there's no compelling reason to do so imo. People will invest if they see something in it and not if they don't see any, it's like a process that the market gets involved in naturally. Even if the market is down the dumps, there will always be people who would see enough of a reason to invest in the market and there'd be people who would naturally sell if they don't see any more purpose in staying. A cycle of numerous people doing that is basically the cycles of bull and bear markets that we experience.
1995  Economy / Economics / Re: Working hours | How many are too many? on: September 03, 2022, 11:27:32 AM
I think 8-9 hrs and 5 days per week is the standard in most cases? I honestly would take those kinds of work only if the workplace is near where I stay as much as possible since commuting to work takes way too much time which basically eliminates any possibility of doing anything other than resting after work. Even having it for 4 days doesn't seem that appealing, but it is a better situation than the 5 day's work. If finding one isn't possible then I'd try to look for options where I'm my own boss, aka freelancing, which I'm mostly favorable of rather than working an 8-5 schedule but it is also hard in its own way.
1996  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 03, 2022, 04:56:57 AM
But sometimes, it can trigger a fight between him and his wife because some wives do not like to see their husbands gambling secretly or telling the truth to wives. Maybe many wives will advise their husbands never to gamble again because the situation now is different. If husbands continue to gamble, let alone spend a lot of money, it will be risky for the family finances. Maybe the wife can help if the husband asks her to help him stop his gambling habit and the wife will support him.
This. I wouldn't actually mind the issue of him hiding stuff from his family if the issue stemmed from them stopping him from gambling. Pretty sure OP can be responsible for himself at this point, heck hiding it may even force him to limit his game time and the costs to spend on playing. I'd say arguing about gambling is fine and all, but stopping it completely without respecting that one side wants it can be disrespectful of sorts, especially if the person involved was rather responsible. Now if it's affecting their lives negatively, then that's another thing.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Solana(SOL) price could reach an average of $60 in 2023 ???? on: September 02, 2022, 11:50:00 PM
Solana is a relatively new project when compared to the likes of Bitcoin and Ethereum. Solana flew under the radar for years, then rallied in this year.

Does Solana price could reach an average of $60 in 2023 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh
It didn't really go under the radar for years, maybe a year at most. $60 might be possible but it's still a wait and see moment here tbh, the market has been pretty steady the past few months so there's really no indication of what it's going to do or where it's going, for now. It has been on a small dip the past month, so it might be an opportunity to profit a bit by shorting it. As for the guarantee of a $60 next year, maybe by the end or middle, I don't think it's going to go to $60 at the start, you can observe it by the end of the year though and see what's happening first.
1998  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino Stake.com sued for $400 million on: September 02, 2022, 11:33:27 AM
Looks like a really bad issue but I don't think the stake would drop down because of it, settlements would probably be made and that would be it. I guess it wouldn't be bad to stay away from stake temporarily but I don't think it's going to go that bad imo, the $400m amount also seems like it was just dropped so that it can be blown up and the person suing could have more power or something imo. Just give it a few months, or weeks if it was fast and I don't think the issue would still be up, unless the person suing well totally pushes for the issue to be blown out of proportion.
1999  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 02, 2022, 04:10:06 AM
They know, that's why I don't have much of an issue with it. Now if you're intent on keeping this as a secret, then I highly suggest having a scheduled time for your gambling sessions, this requires you to ask your family's usual schedule though so plan around that and avoid leaving anything that can leak that you're gambling, e.g. your phone unattended and without any locks or whatnot. Maybe even use the 2nd phone if needed (though unlikely, it might just bring more suspicion really). Also I don't think it's much of an issue if they see you watching analysts whether it's related to gambling or not, just say that it's an analysis of the fight and well, you were curious about it.

I think it's better for you to tell your wife that you bet. It's a much better feeling if both of you are open to these things that you do and it's up to you what reason you'll say, whether it's a hobby or you're really into it and just prove that you're not addicted and you're still in control.
It'd be really great if they were understanding of it. If not though, then OP hiding it seems understandable, especially in the cases of families (instead of your partners).
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "The Lower-Risk Gambling Guidelines" Is this a joke? on: September 02, 2022, 12:01:18 AM
This is closer to telling them not to gamble at all lmao. I myself set a specific amount to gamble on every session, but 1% is way too low, not enough to actually satisfy that craving of gambling. Even if I say that gambling is more for fun, experiencing that fun of winning/losing money is also part. If I was only in it for the game, I might as well just go for playing the same games but without money involved.
They think 1% is a guaranteed loss, however sometimes you'll win and sometimes you'll lose, therefore the actual total losses won't be at 1%. It can be much lower than that. Hence, raising the percentage of income for gambling is acceptable as long as your total losses end-of-year are closer to 1%.
Fair enough I guess, but by doing that you're basically indicating that you'd win more than lose more no? I actually assume the initial thought you have, is that the amount I gamble is already "lost money" in the sense that I don't have the responsibility to actually bring it out of that specific gambling session. Ofc winning would be for the best, but that isn't exactly the case for almost all of us.

Well this helps if you are addicted and want to slowly cut it. Sooner or later you will feel not to gamble at all because it's getting close to that. For the starters, I think gambling like this can prevent them from being an addict later on. If you think you can fully control your self then feel free to set up your own limits because you think this was too low for you and won't give you contentment or satisfaction.
I'd actually lessen the time, instead of the amount if you were addicted and wanted to get out of it. Slowly reducing the number of times you visit a casino and the duration of stay is much helpful, though a combination of the two would be infinitely better. But if comparing the two, reducing time would be the better option.
