201  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3700 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: June 11, 2013, 02:26:40 AM
Just tried a manual payment 1 minute ago, since I haven't been able to make a payout for a couple of days, and I'm still getting the "Please_wait" and then the "Please_wait_2_minutes!"

Never mind, 6th time's a charm

I have a couple of BTC sitting there for almost 1.5 days and have not been able to withdraw.

I'll buy them all for 70 cents on a dollar. Looks like $545 give or take a dollar. How about a nice rond $380?

At that low a rate, I'd just use them myself to buy something at Home Depot.  I'm in there almost on a daily basis.  Just trying to pickup some BTC to add to my stash is all.
It's amazing how hard it is to get BTC otc, instead of having to got thru an exchange.  I'd consider 90%.  You can use a Lowe's 10% off coupon with these store credit cards and get yourself a total of 19% off anything from Home Depot.

How about 80 cents on the dollar? That's my max. I really don't want to give up my BTC either haha.

pm'd

You pick anything you want from Home Depot.
Pay in BTC.
Get it shipped to your house.
Do we have to pay shipping?

Depends.  I think some stuff has free shipping. I think anything over $50 is free shipping.

BAMT Not working

Downloaded BAMT from :

http://files2.bitcointrading.com/bamt_v0.5c.zip

wrote the image file and tried on 2 different USBs same result, it starts with the firy screen (normal safe mode etc.) than goes to "starting" some lines come on the left side and than nothing. The screen goes blank. Using on a an experimental rig of one 5970. Mobo is 4Core1333-Viiv (Asrock).

Also tried going on safe mode of BAMT but does'nt allow me to go there.

Any advice Huh

thx

sounds like your 5970 is not 100%.  Try with a different gpu.

But works fine with cgminer in win7, overclocked and giving over 700 mh.....?

create another BAMT usb stick with a new stick

75 Th up in 10 days.

No.  network hash is not 175TH. A large portion of the jump is variance.

If you end up needing a Control Unit replacement, I can sell you a clone (based off of Avalon published specs). I will have several of these ready and working in about two weeks. You can try one first, if it doesn't work for you, simply return it. If it works and you want to keep it, just send me back a few Bitcoins. PM me if and when you need it.

Will you have these preflashed with the fpga bitstream?
213  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon #2 damaged on: June 06, 2013, 01:12:40 PM
Without an available bitstream for the Avalon, that will be impossible.  The .bit file available is just a test file which blinks the LEDs on the front of the unit.

The real bitstream is available at https://github.com/BitSyncom/avalon-ref/tree/master/FPGA

Thanks mrb.  Hadn't seen that.  I was keeping an eye on http://downloads.qi-hardware.com/people/xiangfu/avalon/fpga-controller/  for the bitstream.  Smiley

time to trade in the wife or the Avalon

What sells higher at the moment? The wife would be kind of package deal with kids attached...

Probably depends on the ROI on the kids. There's always a chance that one of the younglings will make it in Hollywood!

Asian kids don't sell for much unfortunately. Too much supply.

I'm an expat - so we are talking about a really scarce good here... I wouldn't mind however if somebody could have a look at the log I've posted and tell me what might be the problem.
Or somebody point me to how to reprogram the FPGA.

Without an available bitstream for the Avalon, that will be impossible.  The .bit file available is just a test file which blinks the LEDs on the front of the unit.

That is 2.4 BTC in 24 months, in other words 20%! Thats great! I get 1% at my bank! Loving it!!!

This misunderstanding of how much btc a piece of hardware will generate over a "long" (ie. more than a few months) time is probably the biggest reason people are buying hardware like this.  Good luck getting 2.4 BTC in 24 years.

Anyone with a successful removal of fuse F1, yet?

Yes, I removed it from my Avalon and all appears to be working again. The fuse would not pop completely off the pads but enough of it has been removed to open the circuit. It was more of a cut than a removal. A better soldering station might have helped.

Had you noticed any overheating of the NEC usb hub chip?

Bump......have 8 of these left!

If by discount, do you mean 4BTC each, I'm in.  Only if I get an answer within the next few hours so I can place an upgrade order.  Grin
218  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [AUCTION] Avalon Batch #2. In-hand, ready to ship! on: May 31, 2013, 03:18:49 PM
I'll open it up and take a look this weekend. From what I've read, disabling the wifi interface can prevent overheating the usb interface. I'm using ethernet and never had wifi wnabled in the first place.

disabling the wifi interface will not prevent overheating.

https://github.com/BitSyncom/avalon-ref/issues/5

F1 fuse on the fpga board needs to be removed.

Anyone know how I fsck on boot?  I tried 'shutdown -F now' and putting a blank forcefsck file in root but it appears this gets skipped on boot.  If I move the USB drive to another machine and fsck it, it works fine... but now my rigs are remote so manually moving the usb stick is not as easy as it used to be.  I figure it might have something to do with the live image partion and I'm putting the forcefsck in the wrong spot but I'm not sure....

why fsck?

coz linux can fail to start if the fs is corrupt?

well.. ok.. i know that, but i kinda meant, instead of fscking, just create a new usb.  In my experience, if the usb file system is corrupt, it's a whole lot easier just dropping a backup copy of the image you were running on a new usb.
