Maybe the Chinese gov't confiscated the ASICs and are now mining with our machines?

Nah, much easier to rubberhose a few early adopters and empty their wallets. That would bring in more than the few BTC 3600 / day

Not that I want to bring any ideas to the table of course ;-)

Why we need to find excuse for Avalon?
When you break rule, who will help you to find excuse?

If you look at the fine print, it says no guarantees.. so they are not obligated to ship us anything.. they can scam us and it still fits in with their TOS. Some will get shafted, some will make it in time.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

LOL, this remind me to houmoristic series here... In short, minister is speaking to army soldiers with words: "...We are going into war. Some of you will get killed, some of us will survive..." Smiley

Next difficulty will be much higher than 16,282,122 - we can bet on that if you wish. Wink

I just watched Yifu's talk.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LY1xgGiejIc

I have a suggestion everyone stop bitching for a few days, let them do their thing. Cedivad, I forbid you to post in this thread. Let's give them 2 weeks. Avalon team is probably demoralized from the 80% of the mails they receive that don't help them at all. Perhaps they'll actually ship if we stop bitching.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I really don't know where to start from... So maybe I can really leave you alone for the next 2 weeks? I have better things to do in the meantime.
BTW, (censured).

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

Avalon customers have every right to bitch.  Whether it be BFL or Avalon or whoever:   Poor communication and not sticking to their words with customers is shitty business.  At the least keep your customers in the loop of what is going on by sending a newsletter email.

Bump. Why can't there be a reliable ASIC company? If Avalon didn't want to bother with Batch 2 and 3, they shouldn't have accepted the ~100,000 bitcoins. The duality of karma and equity is a tangible and real affair in this universe of ours.

At this point, if they were willing to give refunds, I'd take it over waiting for my unit.

Yifu, want to save some work by not shipping mine?

Head on over to the "Goods" forum.  Someone will happily pay you the exact amount you paid.  They are going for over 100 BTC right now, so if you sell yours for what you paid for it, you will have your "refund" in a few hours.
